    I'm curious if anyone has seen an Open Source radio automation package (I found one in Russian on CodePlex) built on .NET In addition if I wanted to build something like this in a client server environment is WCF and WPF the best way to do it? Is it fast enough to trigger songs to play/encode on the server from a remote WPF client? Sort of vague questions but I wanted to get some community feedback.

    Let's say I have a custom AddMethod to jQuery Validate like: $.validator.addMethod('min-length', function (val, element) { // do stuff // the error message here needs to be dynamic }, 'The field cannot be less than than ' + element.attr('data-min') + // it is within the closure, but it can't grab it ' length.'); I can't figure out a way to get the element variable in question, and get any values from it.   • Seperating two graphs based on connectivity and coordinates

    I would like to separate existing data of vertices and edges into two or more graphs that are not connected. I would like to give the following as example: Imagine two hexagons on top of each other but are lying in different Z. Hexagon 1 has the following vertices A(0,0,1), B(1,0,2), C(2,1,2), D(1,2,1), E(0,2,1), F(-1,2,1). The connectivity is as following: A-B, B-C, C-D, D-E, E-F, F-A. This part of Graph 1 as all the vertices are connected in this layer. Hexagon2 has the following vertices A1(0,0,6), B1(1,0,7), C1(2,1,7), D1(1,2,8), E1(0,2,7), F1(-1,2,6). The connectivity is as following: A1-B1, B1-C1, C1-D1, D1-E1, E1-F1, F1-A1. This is part of Graph 2 My data is in the following form: list of Vertices and list of Edges that i can form graphs with. I would like to eliminate graph 2 and give only vertices and connectivity of graph 1 to polygon determination part of my algorithm. My real data contains around 1000 connected polygons as graph 1 and around 100 (much larger in area) polygons as graph 2. I would like to eliminate graph 2. I am programming this in python. Or, in other words, I want to auto-enumerate the resources for a given course. It just doesn't feel right in terms of methods. I am starting to see this as well and am wondering what others thought: XButton.Click += HandleXButtonClick() ... void HandleXButtonClick() { ... } When using intellisense, Visual Studio handles these like so: XButton.Click += XButton_Click; ... void XButton_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { ... } I am seeking some advice on these naming conventions and would greatly appreciate some advice.

  • problem with a very simple tile based game

    Hello, I am trying to create a pacman-like game. I have an array that looks like this: array: 1111111111111 1000000000001 1111110111111 1000000000001 1111111111111 1 = Wall, 0 = Empty space I use this array to draw tiles that are 16x16 in size. The Game character is 32x32. Initially I represented the character's position in array indexes, [1,1] etc. I would update his position if array[character.new_y][charater.new_x] == 0 Then I translated these array coordinates to pixels, [y*16, x*16] to draw him. He was lining up nicely, wouldn't go into walls, but I noticed that since I was updating him by 16 pixels each, he was moving very fast. I decided to do it in reverse, to store the game character's position in pixels instead, so that he could use less than 16 pixels per move. I thought that a simple if statement such as this: if array[(character.new_pixel_y)/16][(character.new_pixel_x)/16] == 0 would prevent him from going into walls, but unfortunately he eats a bit of the bottom and right side walls. Any ideas how would I properly translate pixel position to the array indexes? I guess this is something simple, but I really can't figure it out :(

    Hi, I am using MS-Access 2003. I have three tables containing values of w,Q and L. In the Q table I have three fields: country_name, ISIC_code, and Q value. In the L table, there are three fields, country_name, ISIC_code, and L value. And in the w table there are two fields; country_name and w value. Country_names, and ISIC_code might be different for each table. What I want to do is create a new table with the values b(j)=w(i)L(ij)/Q(ij), where i is the country and j is the ISIC_code. So first I will check if the country name and ISIC_code are the same in L and Q tables. If they are equal I will calculate L/Q and then multiply this with w value of the same country if it exists. I appreciate any help.

  • Symfony 2 - Updating a table based on newly inserted record in another table

    I'm trying to create a small forum application using Symfony 2 and Doctrine 2. My ForumTopic entity has a last_post field (oneToOne mapping). Now when I persist my new post with $em->persist($post); I want to update my ForumTopic entity so its last_post field would reference this new post. I have just realised that it cannot be done with a Doctrine postPersist Listener, so I decided to use a small hack, and tried: $em->persist($post); $em->flush(); $topic->setLastPost($post); $em->persist($post); $em->flush(); but it doesn't seem to update my topics table. I also took a look at http://docs.doctrine-project.org/projects/doctrine-orm/en/2.1/reference/working-with-associations.html#transitive-persistence-cascade-operations hoping it will solve the problem by adding cascade: [ 'persist' ] to my Topic.orm.yml file, but it didn't help, either. Could anyone point me to a solution or an example class?   • Devise role based routing

    I have an app with multiple users. Each user as a theoretical role (user, client, etc). I've designed a view/controller for each user type. I want to be able to login each type of user do a different root url and lock them to it. Originally I was going to add a column to Users in Devise called role and so I can differentiate the users. The problem I'm having is how to say in routes.rb if current_user.role == "client" root :to = 'controller#index' Once they are logged in to the page I also want to keep them from being able to visit any of my other paths ie: domain.com/calls domain.com/units I've been looking into cancan to run alongside Devise but I'm not sure if this is the answer.

My approach: user X have an account at the existing Rails app. With these login data the user X should authenticate on my Rails app. The existing app offers a gem to connect to the API after login. Whats the best method to store the information about a successful login? Should i use sessions? Or does Rails offer better methods for this?

  • kmeans based on mapreduce by python

    I am going to write a mapper and reducer for the kmeans algorithm, I think the best course of action to do is putting the distance calculator in mapper and sending to reducer with the cluster id as key and coordinates of row as value. In reducer, updating the centroids would be performed. I am writing this by python. As you know, I have to use Hadoop streaming to transfer data between STDIN and STOUT. according to my knowledge, when we print (key + "\t"+value), it will be sent to reducer. Reducer will receive data and it calculates the new centroids but when we print new centroids, I think it does not send them to mapper to calculate new clusters and it just send it to STDOUT and as you know, kmeans is a iterative program. So, my questions is whether Hadoop streaming suffers of doing iterative programs and we should employ MRJOB for iterative programs?
