• Require extended permissions in FBML pyfacebook app

  I'm trying to get my FBML canvas page to automatically prompt new app users for permission to publish_stream. Following Facebook's documentation I tried using the required_permissions argument to require_login. That is, I tried to use the pyfacebook require_login decorator like this: @facebook.require_login(required_permissions='publish_stream') as in: @decorator_from_middleware(FacebookMiddleware) @facebook.require_login(required_permissions='publish_stream') def canvas(request, template): ... Requesting extended permissions in a pyfacebook-based Facebook iFrame app has been discussed. Requesting extended permissions in an FBML app too. My objective is to require extended permissions in an FBML app. Am I missing something or can anyone suggest a workaround? Thanks.

• IOs7 app crashing when in background

• Ruby on Rails app in root directory?

  Hey guys, new to rails, but I have found out how to create an app now through the shell but to create an app using rails appname would give me a url of http://url.com/appname/ but I want my app, to be within the route if you understand me, so it's just http://url.com/login/ or /signup or /play so on? So does anyone have any ideas how to do this, or why you can't or I shouldn't? Anything really, thanks guys!

  I am trying to have a tablelayout contains several tablerows. One of the rows contains 4 buttons, while the second row contains a very long text. However, the width of the button stretches with the text in the second row. • Configuring ASMX Web Service End Points - web.config

  I have set up references to 2 web services in a separate assembly TestProj.Core. I reference this Project in a Web Application Project called TestProj.Web. When I setup the references in TestProj.Core the wizard gave me an app.config and through an application settings section into it. How do I get these settings to my web app? Copy and paste these into web.config? "Always Copy" the app.config out to the bin directory? Any good articles on mutiple configs?

• Integer ID obfuscation techniques

  Hi there, I'm looking for an easy and reversible method of obfuscating integer IDs. Ideally, I'd want the resulting obfuscation to be at most eight characters in length and non-sequential, meaning that the obfuscation of "1" should look nothing like the obfuscation for "2" and so on. This isn't meant to be secure by any means, so this isn't a huge concern. Additionally, the integers I'll be obfuscating aren't large - between one and 10,000 - but I don't want any collisions, either. Does anybody have any ideas for something that would fit this criteria?   I am trying to make an SQL statement that takes eight different numbers and searches eight different tables from one database for the corresponding value. I keep getting invalid syntax, but I can't figure out why. • App_offline.htm, CSS, images, and aspnet_isapi.dll

  Hey all! So, the site I'm working on is using urlrewriting in coordination with aspnet_isapi.dll (everything is mapped to it). I put up my app_offline.htm file, and all the text shows, however, the CSS or images aren't being served. I'm guessing they're being processed by ASP.NET due to the wildcard mapping instead of IIS. Is this correct? If so, how can I allow IIS to serve these files? Furthermore, an issue I can see arising..in the web.config for the rewriter settings: <rewrite url="^~/images/network/(.*)/(.*).jpg$" to="~/services/ImageHandler.ashx?type=$1&amp;id=$2"/> <rewrite url="^~/image/view/(.*).jpg$" to="~/ServePRView.aspx?id=$1"/> <rewrite url="^~/asset/view/(.*).jpg$" to="~/services/ImageHandler.ashx?id=$1&amp;type=asset"/> Thanks for the help all, -Steve

• How do I return an Array from grails / jdo to Flex

  this seems really simple but I haven't gotten this to work. I am building my app with grails on google app engine. This pretty much requires you to use JDO. I am making an HTTP call from flex to my app. The action that I am calling on the grails end looks like so def returnShowsByDate = { def query = persistenceManager.newQuery( Show ) def showInstanceList = query.execute() return (List<Show>) showInstanceList } I have tried just returning "hello from grails" and that works just fine. I have alos tried the following return showInstanceList the JDO docs say the query.execute() returns a collection. Why I cant just return that to Flex I have no clue. Any thoughts?

• Single Sign On for a Web App

  I have been trying to understand how this problem is solved for over a month now. I really need to come up with a general approach that works -- I'm basically the only resource who can do it. I have a theory, but I'm just not sure it's the easiest (or correct) approach and I haven't been able to find any information to support my ideas. Here's the scenario: 1) You have a complex web application that offers secure content on a subscription basis. 2) Users are required to log in to your application with user name and password. 3) You sell to large corporations, which already have a corporate authentication technology (for example, Active Directory). 4) You would like to integrate with the corporate authentication mechanism to allow their users to log onto your Web App without having to enter their user name and password. Now, any solution you come up with will have to provide a mechanism for: adding new users removing users changing user information allowing users to log in Ideally, all these would happen "automagically" when the corporate customer made the corresponding changes to their own authentication. Now, I have a theory that the way to do this (at least for Active Directory) would be for me to write a client-side app that integrates with the customer's Active Directory to track the targeted changes, and then communicate those changes to my Web App. I think that if this communication were done via Web Services offered by my web app, then it would maintain an unhackable level of security, which would obviously be a requirement for these corporate customers. I've found some information about a Microsoft product called Active Directory Federation Service (ADFS) which may or may not be the right approach for me. It seems to be a bit bulky and have some requirements that might not work for all customers. For other existing ID scenarios (like Athens and Shibboleth), I don't think a client application is necessary. It's probably just a matter of tying into the existing ID services. I would appreciate any advice anyone has on anything I've mentioned here. In particular, if you can tell me if my theory is correct about providing a client-side app that communicates with server-side Web Services, or if I'm totally going in the wrong direction. Also, if you could point me at any web sites or articles that explain how to do this, I'd really appreciate it. My research has not turned up much so far. Finally, if you could let me know of any Web applications that currently offer this service (particularly as tied to a corporate Active Directory), I would be very grateful. I am wondering if other B2B Web app's like salesforce.com, or hoovers.com offer a similar service for their corporate customers. I hate being in the dark and would greatly appreciate any light you can shed ... Jeremy

  I am writing large MS Word 2007 documents, which are often being changed. I have to number paragraphs with stationary unique numbers, that will not change while changing the documents. The numbers should be unique, and will not change even if previous numbers are deleted. The order of the list is not mandatory, and addition of a new number before existing numbers is possible (for instance: the sequence 1, 4, 3 means that paragraphs 1-3 were written, then #2 was deleted, then #5 was added. #3 was not affected by the later editing) The mechanism should be internal to the document, as I am working on line and off line. The numbers are allocated to every document individually. Since I don't know to program under MS Word, I'd appreciate getting a complete solution.

• White view when launch iOS app in simulator

  I have been working for 4 months on an app, its pretty complex and works fine. Now suddenly, I added a new class and did some changes to the MainWindow.xib with all my views there and now I just get a plain white view when I launch it with simulator. I even stripped it down completely to nothing but the appdelegate and one simple plain view with a button. So basically I've got an app with nothing but an appDelegate managing a tabBar, launching with one simple view, no frameworks no nothing and I still get a white app. There must be an option somewhere that I must have activated for the running of app in simulator but I can't figure it out. • Help using mod_jk to forward to backend app server

  I had mod-jk working a while ago but after switching servers and modifying some files, it no longer works. I am using mod_jk-1.2.28 with JBoss 4.2.3 as the backend. In the JBoss server.xml file I have the AJP 1.3 connector defined on port 8009 and I am binding jboss to the server's new IP address. The app I am trying to forward to is deployed as: [TomcatDeployer] deploy, ctxPath=/ManualAlerts, warUrl=.../tmp/deploy/tmp8097651929280250028ManualAlertsApp.ear-contents/ManualAlerts-exp.war/ On the web server, I have worker.properties with a worker set for the JBoss address and port 8009. The mod-jk.conf has JkMount /ManualAlerts/* worker1. Shouldn't this forward all requests to the web server with the URL http://address/ManualAlerts/ to the backend app named ManualAlerts? • Handling Digital ID/Signature in Outlook Add-in

  I have a C# Outlook Add-In application (VS2005 and 2003 Outlook) that reads incoming emails and strips out the attachments and the email text body for future processing. Occasionally I'll get an email that contains a digital signature. The application will fail when I try to access the mailitem.body property, throwing the following exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xAB404001): The operation failed. at Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook._MailItem.get_Body() at MyLib.MyApp.OutlookAddin.MailProcessor.ProcessMailItem(MailItem mailItem) I'm pretty sure it is the digital signature causing the problem because if I forward the email back to myself, it will strip off the original sender's digital signature and the add-in application will process the email without any problems. I'm not sure what to do. I need to process the email, so I can't just ignore it. Somehow getting the body of the original email without throwing an exception would be ideal. Or I guess if I can identify that there is a digital signature associated with the email, I could forward the email to myself, but that seems a little messy. Does anyone have any suggestions/fixes? Thanks for any help.
