• FreeBSD 32bit to 64bit migration

  I need to transfer my LAMP server (FreeBSD 7.0 i386) to another hosting. I would like to also upgrade to the 64bit version (to eliminate 4GB memory limit). Anyone have some pre-destructive suggestions? Any tutorials that you're familiar with that give an idea of the gotchas? Thanks!

  We are hosting a set of websites on VM Cloud. These sites were previously on a couple of dedicated servers but to enhance performance, we transferred them onto a Cloud environment. The Cloud has SSD storage but they are now saying that we have very high IOPS and are goign to degrade us if we do not do anything soon. • Postfix and google apps email limit

  I installed postfix on my ubuntu vps. The server is hosting mysite.com. I set the MX records for mysite.com to use google apps for email: ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM ... I am using php's mail() function, and emails are working. Google apps has a 500 email / day limit. Am I using this limit? I'm not sure what postfix is doing exactly. Thanks

  I have a large file I want to transfer using either Internet storage hosting, DVD-Rs or USB storage, which sometimes is limited to FAT file-systems (for example: mobile phones) What I'm basically looking for is a tool that create multiple files/volumes (less than 2GB each - FAT's file size limit) which are packed with a self-extracting executable.   A friend has a site developed in ColdFusion with MySQL and is looking for better cost-effective hosting as the traffic scales up rapidly. Azure comes to mind. I haven't used Azure myself, however, I believe it is possible to setup and interact with the web-server via RDP into a hosted Virtual Machine? I am curious if ColdFusion can be installed in the hosted Azure VM. Also, would the site have to be tweaked to run on Azure SQL, or could it continue to use MySQL? Thanks.

What I would like to know, how many visitors can use the multiple web sites concurrently, before I need to migrate each of the sites to their seperate servers? So in laymans terms, how much RAM does a web-page user take on average? For example, how many concurrent visitors can I have on my server, running an Apache server, with 512mb RAM?

  I am hosting a website on a CentOS server and all was well until I tried sending emails from my website. I realized it is taking unusually long to send email and the webpage to refresh. I actually timed it at just over 6 minutes to send one email to 3 addresses.
