Is this assembly distributed with the .NET framework v4.0 redistributable? Is it also guaranteed to be present on a user's machine if any edition of Visual Studio 2010 is installed?

It is trivial to do for the oledb connection string as described here: MSDN Article on MSDASC.DataLinks().Prompt I've also found examples that use Microsoft.Data.ConnectionUI.dll and MicrosoftData.ConnectionUI.Dialog.dll from VS (HOWTO: Using the Choose Data Source dialog of Visual Studio 2005 from your own code). Unfortunately these DLLs are not licensed for redistribution. Is there a standard dialog for choosing a data source that can be distributed with my application?

• Mercurial Workflow for small team

  I'm working in a team of 3 developers and we have recently switched from CVS to Mercurial. We are using Mercurial by having local repositories on each of our workstations and pulling/pushing to a development server. I'm not sure this is the best workflow, as it is easy to forget to Push after a Commit, and 3 way merge conflicts can cause a real headache. Is there a better workflow we could use, as I think the complexity of distributed VC is outweighing the benefits at the moment. Thanks

I would like to avail of OTP features like distributed applications, etc. My question is how do I expose gen_server calls/casts to other applications?   Currently, Apple's native binaries and libraries are distributed as fat files, with support for both i386 and x86_64 architectures. The SDK (Xcode 4.4 w/ command line tools) doesn't support cross-compiling powerpc binaries any more, so they can be safely ignored I think, but there doesn't seem to be any specific guidelines or recommendations about which Intel architectures to support. So, when compiling code for distribution on OS X, do people still cross-compile for the i386 architecture? Or are x86_64 binaries the only architecture worth bothering with nowadays?

I would very much like the game to run full screen, which is not a problem, but I am struggling with replacing flash default behavior when escape is pressed. The function should, given a node, return the node itself or any of its children such that the probability of choosing a node is normally distributed relative to its depth (so the function should return mostly middle nodes, but sometimes the root itself or the lowest ones - but that's not really necessary if that makes it significantly more complex, if all any node is chosen with equal probability, that's good enough).   I am trying to use open query to run a stored procedure in a remote database, and insert it into a table in my local database: -- this works exec remotesvr.sys.dbo.golden_table 'some', 'parameters' While the above works out, I try the following: insert into my_local_table exec remotesvr.sys.dbo.golden_table 'some', 'parameters' I get a SQL error to the effect of 'unable to begin a distributed transaction'. Is there any way around this?, i.e. can I execute take the results of a remote stored procedure and put its contents in a local table?

  In CVS, we could programatically create a new branch of existing source using the "rtag" command, which did not require a copy of the repository. Does git support functionality of this kind, making a branch of existing files in a remote git repository without having a local copy of it? Or does the distributed nature of git preclude this? (I'm trying to save the 20+ minutes it would take to make a freestanding copy of the repository, just to run a 'git branch' command.)
