    I want to create a new column in a MYSQL table that has Fn Ln instead of Ln, Fn. Most of my data is printed Fn Ln. Another idea is to incorporate a string function each time there is an output (php based) but that seems to waste resources. Finally, I couldn't find the syntax (loop or foreach) for my php function anyway.   • Good alternative to Eregi() in PHP

    I often find myself doing quick checks like this: if (! eregi('.php',$fileName)) $filename.='.php'; But sadly eregi() is going to be deprecated in PHP 6, which means all of my code that uses it will be rendered useless :(. Is there another function that behaves exactly the same way as eregi()? I don't know anything about reg exps and don't want to learn, so preg_match() etc won't work for me.

    Hi, I want to match against Strings such as AhKs & AdKs (i.e. two cards Ah = Ace of Hearts). I want to match two off-suit cards with a regex, what I currently have is "^[AKQJT2-9][hscd]{2}$", but this could match hands such as AhKh (suited) and AhAh. Is there a way to possibly use backreferences to say the second [hscd] cannot be the same as the firs (similarly for [AKQJT2-9])

The input will look something like this: Verse 1 lyrics line 1 Verse 1 lyrics line 2 Verse 1 lyrics line 3 Verse 1 lyrics line 4 Verse 2 lyrics line 1 Verse 2 lyrics line 2 Verse 2 lyrics line 3 Verse 2 lyrics line 4 And I want to transform them so the first line of each verse is grouped together as in: Verse 1 lyrics line 1 Verse 2 lyrics line 1 Verse 1 lyrics line 2 Verse 2 lyrics line 2 Verse 1 lyrics line 3 Verse 2 lyrics line 3 Verse 1 lyrics line 4 Verse 2 lyrics line 4 Lyrics will obviously be unknown, but the blank line marks a division between verses in the input.

    I'm trying to split a string: string f = r.ReadToEnd(); string[] seperators = new string[] {"[==========]"}; string[] result; result = f.Split(seperators, StringSplitOptions.None); There's this ========== thing that separates entries. For the life of me, I can't get this to work. I've got a ruby version working...BUT using the string splitter classes I thought I knew for .NET doesn't seem to be working so well. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    I want to use ImageJ to do some processing of several thousand images. Is there a way to take any general imageJ plugin and apply it to hundreds of images automatically? For example, say I want to take my thousand images and apply a polar transformation to each--- A polar transformation plugin for ImageJ can be found here: http://rsbweb.nih.gov/ij/plugins/polar-transformer.html Great! Let's use it. But running this always brings up a window containing the transformed image, when what I want is to simply return the transformed image. The stupidest way to do what I want is to just close the window that comes up and return the image which it was displaying. Does what I want but is absolutely retarded: (defn x-polar [imageP] (let [thread (Thread/currentThread) options ""] (.setName thread "Run$_polar-transform") (Macro/setOptions thread options) (IJ/runPlugIn imageP "Polar_Transformer" "") (let [return-image (IJ/getImage)] (.hide return-image) return-image))) I'm obviously missing something about how to use imageJ plugins in a programming context.     Is there any clever way to mix two bit sequences in such way that bits from first sequence will be on odd places, and bits from second sequence will be on even places. Both sequences are no longer than 16b so output will fit into 32bit integer. Example: First sequence : 1 0 0 1 0 0 Second sequence : 1 1 1 0 1 1 Output : 1 1 0 1 0 1 1 0 0 1 0 1 I thought about making integer array of size 2^16 and then the output would be: arr[first] << 1 | arr[second]

  • Using Regex, how can I remove certain characters from the inside of tags in a string of html?

    Suppose I have a string of html that contains a bunch of control characters and I want to remove the control characters from inside tags only, leaving the characters outside the tags alone. For example Here the control character is the numeral "1". Input The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <sp11a1n 1class1='jumpe111r'11>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog Desired Output The quick 1<strong>orange</strong> lemming <span class='jumper'>jumps over</span> 1the idle 1frog So far I can match tags which contain the control character but I can't remove them in one regex. I guess I could perform another regex on my matches, but I'd really like to know if there's a better way.
