• css problem with unordered lists (as usual with IE)

  I am using un-ordered lists that nests some divs to show the desired output on screen. I am using css to style them and they seem to look perfect on chrome and firefox. But in IE(8) it looks there is a problem which I was unable to locate.   Hi! I have setup subversion 1.6.5 on Fedora. I have decided to use a single repository for multiple projects. I have added one project, projA, to the repository. I will have more projects to add to the repository in future. If I try to add next project with the command 'svn import . file:///path/to/repos' gives svn: File already exists: filesystem '/usr/local/svn-repos/proj-test/db', transa ction '1-1', path '/trunk'. The new projB is being added to the trunk directory of projA. I have read the section "Adding Projects" in http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.1/ch05s04.html In that book, projects are added at once. But,I would like to add them one by one as new projects become ready to go. What is the proper command and/or how that can be done? Thanks. Banani

• Stop sign icon in VS2005 Express solution explorer

  What does a small stop sign icon on a file in solution explorer mean? Someone asked the same question a year ago Original Question but the answer provided is of no help. The icon looks like this: Suffice to say that the sign is not one presented in the VS documentation and is a UK Stop sign (red circle with a white horizontal bar) not a US one. The project is WebKit and the build process cannot find AuthenticationCF.h even though the file is present. I presume the sign might shed some light on this. Thanks, Andy

  Hi, I have a variable, $var, that contains a string of characters, this is a dynamic variable that contains the values from inputs. $var could be 'abc', or $var could be 'blu', I want to match the string inside variable against an array, and return all the matches. $array = array("blue", "red", "green"); What is the correct syntax for writing the code in php, my rough code is below $match = preg_grep($var, $array); (incorrect syntax of course) I tried to put quotes and escape slashes, but so far no luck. Any suggestion? TIA

  Hi, I am trying to debug a program using ddd. When I try to enter any function, or within main() itself, I get the following warning: warning: (Internal error: pc 0x804a6b0 in read in psymtab, but not in symtab.) This warning flashes whenever I try to move to another instruction using 'n' or enter or leave a function. I have tried to look this up in other forums, but with no conclusive answer. The code I am trying to debug runs into several files and I am not sure if I can post the entire code here. I am using g++ version: g++ (GCC) 4.4.1 20090725 (Red Hat 4.4.1-2) Any help on this is most welcome. Thanks, Sriram.

• First iPhone App View Position Problem

  I am closely following the instructions given in the tutorial "Your First iPhone Application" on apple ADC. In the interface builder, I have set up a button positioned on the top according to the Apple Interface Guidelines. It runs without trouble if I simulate the interface in IB. However, if I run the built app, I get what is shown here. If you look at the view clearly, you will see that the entire view has been shifted up. And the magnitude of the shift is exactly the height of the status bar. And that's why the there is blank space at the bottom of the window, which was white instead of red. I have tried turning on the "Simulated Interface Elements", but that doesn't work either. The problem persists on real devices as well. However, using the "Simulate Interface" from IB looks fine. • Handling exceptions, is this a good way?

  We're struggling with a policy to correctly handle exceptions in our application. Here's our goals for it (summarized): Handle only specific exceptions. Handle only exceptions that you can correct Log only once. We've come out with a solution that involves a generic Application Specific Exception and works like this in a piece of code: try { // Do whatever } catch(ArgumentNullException ane) { // Handle, optinally log and continue } catch(AppSpecificException) { // Rethrow, don't log, don't do anything else throw; } catch(Exception e) { // Log, encapsulate (so that it won't be logged again) and throw Logger.Log("Really bad thing", e.Message, e); throw new AppSpecificException(e) } All exception is logged and then turned to an AppSpecificException so that it won't be logged again. Eventually it will reach the last resort event handler that will deal with it if it has to. I don't have so much experience with exception handling patterns... Is this a good way to solve our goals? Has it any major drawbacks or big red warnings?

• Why can't I have static public fields in my managed beans?

  I just started using the Netbeans 7.1 beta and it is calling out errors of a type which I have never seen before. Specifically: A managed bean with a public field should not declare any scope other than @Dependent. The fields it is complaining about are public static final. I can understand the restriction on non-static fields, but I can't think of a good reason this would not be allowed for a static field. Unfortunately I use a lot of them since I don't like having constants in my code. I note that even though I get the red dot in the margin in the editor, the maven-driven build still works and GlassFish still runs my application the way I would expect. So what is my denoument on this issue? Am I going to have to move my static fields elsewhere or is there another way of handling this?

• Java Applet - ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException

  OK so I am getting an ArrayIndexOutofBoundsException. I don't know why. Here's my code: http://www.so.pastebin.com/y5MjD1k3 The thing is when I go to the red brick at board[2][2]... I go there. Then I go up... then I TRY go to back down but that error pops up. Also when I go to the right 8 squares... I ALSO get that error. ALSO, pretend my 2d map is split into FOUR squares... well square one is the top left... if I go ANYWHERE else ... I get that error. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

  i have a situation where i need the Checker enum below used in multiple classes: package Sartre.Connect4; public enum Checker { EMPTY, RED, YELLOW } so i put the Checker in a Checker.java file and then from the classes that need it i simply do the following: example: public Cell(){ currentCell = Checker.EMPTY; } example: public Cell(Checker checker){ currentCell = checker; } and the code compiles fine and runs fine also. so what is my question? well being new to Java i am just wondering if the way i use Checker without encapsulating it in a class is a sound implementation? it may be because of The enum declaration defines a class (called an enum type). as noted in Java docs enum tutorial page. thank you for your insight into this matter.

• How to inline string.h function on linux?

  I want to optimize some code such that all the functions in string.h will be inlined. I'm on x86_64. I've tried -O3, -minline-all-stringops and when I do "nm a.out" it shows it is calling the glibc version. Checking with gcc -S, I see the calls. What am I missing? • Cannot bind to list<T>.property or list<T>.item.property in details section of Telerik report

  I have created a Telerik report and I am setting the datasource on runtime to an object with some properties and a List. I am using the properties in the page and report header sections and i want to use the list as the details. Now the problem is binding to the List's item properties in the details section. I have played around with the expression builder and it seems that i should access the properties like this : [=Fields.myList.Item.myProperty] when i run the program i get a nice big red rectangle with the following error : An error has occured while processing TextBox 'textBox28':Common Language Runtime detected an invalid program. I have tried to change different variants of expression which also gives me other errors [=Fields.myList.myPropery] An error has occured while processing TextBox 'textBox28': The expression contains object 'myProperty' that is not defined in the current context. The closest i have gotton was with the object it self, which outputs the object.toString() [=Fields.myList]

• How to obtain multiple lines in a single density plot, with a corrected scale?

  I have recently started working with microarray datasets and am trying to get my hands on R. I wish to make some plots out of my result data, but however I am stuck at the following. I have the following data (myData), cpg samp1 samp2 samp3 cpg1 0.43 0.32 0.21 cpg2 0.43 0.22 1.00 cpg3 0.11 0.99 0.78 cpg4 0.65 0.32 0.12 cpg5 0.11 0.43 0.89 And I wish to obtain a density plot for this, I did the following, plot (density(MyData$samp1), col="red") lines (density(MyData$samp2), col="green") lines (density(MyData$samp3), col="blue") But doing this does not give me correct plots, because not all sample curves fit within the plot limits. I did try looking for answers, but honestly i am still not able to work this out. Can you help me know how do i set my scale for the above? Or what additional should I do to the above code, so that all the curves are in range?? I have got many samples, so i need a something that could also automatically assign a different colour curve for each of my sample, after scaling it right. Thanks in advance..

• Listen to HTML/CSS events of web page

  I'm looking for a way to listen for an event in the HTML/CSS of a webpage. Basically, a website I use at work lists queues and appointments, which flag as yellow/red based on the amount of time late on taking said appointment. Other than this visual aide, there is no alert of any kind, which is a failing point if one is juggling multiple windows and doesn't notice. What I would like to do is put together a simple way to watch for the tag ID or perhaps the flag hex color, and then alert me in a way of my choosing. The work environment is on OS X, so I presume I'm looking at an Objective-C centric solution unless Applescript is capable of doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Displaying change of content through parent

  I have DHTML content inside a fieldset. This includes plain html, nested objects (even other fieldsets), and value change of input, select, and textarea objects. I'd like to change the border of the fieldset if the contents have been changed. The following works: $('fieldset[name=qsfs127]').children('input').change(function(){ $(this).parent('fieldset').css({border:'1px solid red'}); }) This handles the input; I can extend it to select and textarea. Questions: How can I do the same for html changes? Can all of this change-tracking be done by comparing current html() to stored one? If yes for (2), will this handle cases of "undo"? Edit: I have a button that ajax-uploads contents, and saves the changes. I then remove the border color
