    I'm writing a script to rewrite Reddit's RSS feeds. The script needs to find a URL named [link] inside a block of HTML that contains other URLs. The HTML is contained in an XML element called <description>. Here are two examples of the <description> element from I need to parse and the [link] I would need to get.     I use ack and I like it. However from time to time I need to search for something in my code base and I want to ignore all the files residing in test directory. Basically all the files which have test in their absolute path should be not included in the search. How do I achieve that? I am willing to have a custom bash script. Something like ack_no_test "application" - search for "application" in all files but ignore files residing in test directory

    This is my question and apparently this is the answer. I found you can stdout to null by writing NUL in command prompt so i tried writing < NUL at the end of my argument. No luck. How do i pass in null or do something with the IO locks like that perl code does so i can get my ffmpeg script not locking up after 15 or so seconds?

  • Passing a panel widget to a function

    I have written a quite complex script which calls a server handler to refresh elements in a grid at the press of a button. For code re-use and consistent behaviour, I am wanting to call that server handler directly during the initial painting of the grid. When the server handler gets called by clicking on the button, all expected widgets are available and can be queried with e.parameter.widget etc. When I call the function directly and pass it the panel variable, the value of e is just 'AbsolutePanel'. Is there some way I can emulate the addCallbackElement way of passing the entire panel and all widgets it contains to the function? Or a way of automatically firing a server handler on script start? Please forgive any syntax errors below, I have pruned 500 lines of code down to the pertinent bits!   • C# Application Calling Powershell Script Issues

    Hi, I have a C# Winforms application which is calling a simple powershell script using the following method: Process process = new Process(); process.StartInfo.FileName = @"powershell.exe"; process.StartInfo.Arguments = String.Format("-noexit \"C:\Develop\{1}\"", scriptName); process.Start(); The powershell script simply reads a registry key and outputs the subkeys. $items = get-childitem -literalPath hklm:\software foreach($item in $items) { Write-Host $item } The problem I have is that when I run the script from the C# application I get one set of results, but when I run the script standalone (from the powershell command line) I get a different set of results entirely. I need to have access to the script shoplink.cfm in the root which takes variables tduid and url (shoplink.cfm?tduid=1&url=) I have tried to resolve it using this: # maybe?: RewriteRule !(^/shoplink.cfm [QSA] but to be honest, I have not much of a clue of urlrewriting and have no idea what I am supposed to write. I just know that above will generate a nice 500 error. I have been looking around a lot on stackoverflow and other websites on the same subject, but all I see is people trying to exclude directories, not files. In the worst case I could add the script to a seperate directory and exclude the directory from the rewriterules, but rather not since the script should really remain in the root. Just also tried: RewriteRule ^/shoplink.cfm$ $0 [L] but that didn't do anything either. Anyone who can help me out on this subject? Thanks in advance. Steven Esser ColdFusion programmer

  • Running Command via Java ProccesBuilder Different to Running the same in the Shell

    I'm tearing my hair out trying to work out why the command I'm executing via Java using a ProcessBuilder & Process is not working. I run the "same" command at the Windows command line and it works as expected. It must be that they're not the same but I can't for the life of me work out why. The command is this: ccm start -nogui -m -q -n ccm_admin -r developer -d /path/to/db/databasename -s http://hostname:8400 -pw Passw0rd789$ The output is should be a single line string that I need to grab and set as an environment variable (hence the v. basic use of the BufferedReader).   • PackageMaker install script for rxtx

    I am using PackageMaker to create an installer for my application. During installation I need to run a bash script to properly install rxtx, a JNI library for serial port communication. This library needs to have the directory /var/lock in place with user "root" and group "uucp". The installation script also needs to add the current user to the group "uucp" for the lib to be able to write to /var/lock. Now when I run my application installer the preinstall script is run as root. Therefore "whoami" returns root instead of the user who is actually running the installer. The result is that rxtx is not able to create lock files in /var/lock because the actual user was not added as a member to "uucp". How can I get the user while my script is run by the installer. Or is it better to set the permissions for /var/lock to a different group maybe?   • JavaScript To Clear Form Field On Submit Before Form Submission To Perl Script

    We have a very long form that has a number of fields and 2 different submit buttons. When a user clicks the 1st submit button ("Photo Search") the form should POST and our script will do a search for matching photos based on what the user entered in the text input ("photo_search_text") next to the 1st submit button and reload the entire form with matching photos added to the form. Upon clicking the 2nd submit button ("Save Changes") at the end of the form, it should POST and our script should update the database with the information the user entered in the form. Unfortunately the layout of the form makes it impossible to separate it into 2 separate forms. I checked the entire form POST and unfortunately the submitted fields are identical to the perl script processing the form submission no matter which submit button is clicked so the perl script can't differentiate which action to perform based on which submit button is pushed. The only thing I can think of is to update the onclick action of the 2nd submit button so it clears the "photo_search_text" field before the form is submitted and then only perform a photo search if that fields has a value. Based on all this, my question is what does the JavaScript look that could clear out the "photo_search_text" field when someone clicks on the 2nd submit button? Here is what I've tried so far none of which has worked successfully: <input type="submit" name="submit" onclick="document.update-form.photo_search_text.value='';" value="Save Changes"> <input type="submit" name="submit" onsubmit="document.update-form.photo_search_text.value='';" value="Save Changes"> <input type="submit" name="submit" onclick="document.getElementById('photo_search_text')='';" value="Save Changes"> We also use JQuery on the site so if there is a way to do this with jQuery instead of plain JavaScript feel free to provide example code for that instead.     Hello everybody I am trying to exclude a certain string from a file search. Suppose I have a list of files: file_Michael.txt, file_Thomas.txt, file_Anne.txt. I want to be able and write something like ls *<and not Thomas>.txt to give me file_Michael.txt and file_Anne.txt, but not file_Thomas.txt. The reverse is easy: ls *Thomas.txt Doing it with a single character is also easy: ls *[^s].txt But how to do it with a string? Sebastian

    Incredably annoyed at the Java Keytool. So much so that I have created a new tag: "SunSuck". The keytool does not resolve impartial directories. Ie this works: keytool -keystore "/users/me/Desktop" ... This doesn't: keytool -keystore "~/Desktop" ... Is there something that I could call like this: keytool -keystore "$(<cmd> ~/Desktop)" ...

    Hi, i have a question, after allot of hours in googling and reading articles, i understood that namespace extenssion in windows is quite tricky (In C++ at least), now i've also seen its possible to do so in C# , but microsft does'nt officaly confirms using .net for namespace extensions... though i have seen very nice commercial Namespace Extenssion framework , but none is free.... so to my question :) , i want to develop my own Namespace Extenssion ,i have C++/C# knwoledge and basic COM/ATL , but if it can be done i prefer c#, so does c# inteop can fully do the work without too many tricks ? or one shall go diving in the ATL to create the neccessary COM objects... and another question , can i program to Windows O/S with C# anything that can be done in C++/ATL/MFC ? thanks!

  • Upload using python script takes very long on one laptop as compared to another

    I have a python 2.7 code which uses STORBINARY function for uploading files to an ftp server and RETRBINARY for downloading from this server. However, the issue is the upload is taking a very long time on three laptops from different brands as compared to a Dell laptop. The strange part is when I manually upload any file, it takes the same time on all the systems. The manual upload rate and upload rate with the python script is the same on the Dell Laptop. However, on every other brand of laptop (I have tried with IBM, Toshiba, Fujitsu-Siemens) the python script has a very low upload rate than the manual attempt. Also, on all these other laptops, the upload rate using the python script is the same (1Mbit/s) while the manual upload rate is approx. 8 Mbit/s. I have tried to vary the filesize for the upload to no avail. TCP Optimizer improved the download rate on all the systems but had no effect on the upload rate. Download rate using this script on all the systems is fine and same as the manual download rate. I have checked the server and it has more than 90% free space. The network connection is the same for all the laptops, and I try uploading only with one laptop at a time. All the laptops have almost the same system configurations, same operating system and approximately the same free drive space. If anything the Dell laptop is a little less in terms of processing power and RAM than 2 of the others, but I suppose this has no effect as I have checked many times to see how much was the CPU usage and network usage during these uploads and downloads, and I am sure that no other virus or program has been eating up my bandwidth.   • Popen is no able to process a command that runs in shell

    Hello everybody, I have already read the previous questions posted on the same argument but I really haven't figured it out yet.
