  • Stackpanel add item animation

    - by grzegorz_p
    Hello, I've been struggling a while with marquee-style image scrolling control. At a moment, I stuck up with templated ItemsControl: <Window.Resources> <DataTemplate x:Key="itemsTemplate"> <Image Source="{Binding AbsolutePath}"></Image> </DataTemplate> </Window.Resources> <ItemsControl ItemTemplate="{StaticResource itemsTemplate}" x:Name="ic" ItemsSource="{Binding ElementName=mainWindow, Path=DataItems}" VirtualizingStackPanel.IsVirtualizing="True"> <ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> <ItemsPanelTemplate> <VirtualizingStackPanel Orientation="Vertical" VerticalAlignment="Bottom" VirtualizingStackPanel.IsVirtualizing="True" > </VirtualizingStackPanel> </ItemsPanelTemplate> </ItemsControl.ItemsPanel> </ItemsControl> ItemsControl is bound to ObservableCollection, so I can add items at runtime. As soon as item goes off-screen it's removed from ObservableCollection. The last thing to do is implementing custom item add behavior (smooth slide-in instead of insert-translateothers behavior). Shall I derive from StackPanel to achieve such effect or just perform DoubleAnimation on currently adding item? Any suggestions appreciated.

  • (solved) jQuery click and drag/scroll window: jagged movement

    - by Josh
    Edit: derp, using pageX/Y instead of clientX/Y -- apparently scrollBy expects input with that offset rather than the other. Jaggy movement gone. I am getting jagged movement when doing small scroll increments using the following bindings. Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to smooth this out? FYI, its intermittent. It seems like, if I click and hold for a second, then drag at a decent speed there are no problems. Edit: What the hell? I get this output on debug... obvious jog backwards and forwards. This will happen in succession and seems to have no correlation with the mouse, other than the mouse is moving. x 398 : 403 y 374 : 377 x 403 : 399 y 377 : 374 x 399 : 404 y 374 : 377 Josh sococo.client.panMap = function(e){ e.preventDefault(); var movex = sococo.client.currX - e.pageX ; var movey = sococo.client.currY - e.pageY; console.log( sococo.client.currX +" : " + e.pageX ); window.scrollBy(movex,movey); sococo.client.currY = e.pageY; sococo.client.currX = e.pageX; } $(document).mousedown( function(e){ e.preventDefault(); sococo.client.currX = e.pageX; sococo.client.currY = e.pageY; $(document).bind( "mousemove", sococo.client.panMap ); }); $(document).mouseup( function(e){ e.preventDefault(); $(document).unbind( "mousemove", sococo.client.panMap ); });

  • Why can't I fade out this table row in IE using jQuery?

    - by George Edison
    I can't get the table row to fade out in IE. It works in Chrome, but not IE. It just becomes really 'light' and stays on the screen. I tried IE8 with and without compatibility mode. <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function hideIt() { $('#hideme').fadeTo("slow", 0.0); } </script> </head> <body> <table> <tr id='hideme'> <td>Hide me!</td> </tr> </table> <button onclick='hideIt();'>Hide</button> </body> </html> Is there a workaround/solution for a smooth fade?

  • Rails 3 with Ruby 1.9.1 on Heroku

    - by stephen murdoch
    I've decided that I am going to man-up and start using Rails 3 from now on but the following note found here puts me off a bit: Note that Ruby 1.8.7 has marshaling bugs that crash both Rails 2.3.x and Rails 3.0.0. Ruby 1.9.1 outright segfaults on Rails 3.0.0, so if you want to use Rails 3 with 1.9.x, jump on 1.9.2 trunk for smooth sailing. I use Heroku for my deployment and as far as I am aware they do not plan to add 1.9.2 to the stack until it's stable (which might be in August) so I was thinking of doing it with 1.9.1. and seeing what happens. I know that there is a 3rd beta release now but the comments on the blog imply that it's still a little bit buggy. Is DHH inferring that you shouldn't touch Rails 3 at all if you are on 1.9.1? What are other Heroku-ists doing regarding Rails 3? Anyone using it for any production apps? I guess I'll only know once I've tried but any advice would be nice.

  • c++ stl priority queue insert bad_alloc exception

    - by bsg
    Hi, I am working on a query processor that reads in long lists of document id's from memory and looks for matching id's. When it finds one, it creates a DOC struct containing the docid (an int) and the document's rank (a double) and pushes it on to a priority queue. My problem is that when the word(s) searched for has a long list, when I try to push the DOC on to the queue, I get the following exception: Unhandled exception at 0x7c812afb in QueryProcessor.exe: Microsoft C++ exception: std::bad_alloc at memory location 0x0012ee88.. When the word has a short list, it works fine. I tried pushing DOC's onto the queue in several places in my code, and they all work until a certain line; after that, I get the above error. I am completely at a loss as to what is wrong because the longest list read in is less than 1 MB and I free all memory that I allocate. Why should there suddenly be a bad_alloc exception when I try to push a DOC onto a queue that has a capacity to hold it (I used a vector with enough space reserved as the underlying data structure for the priority queue)? I know that questions like this are almost impossible to answer without seeing all the code, but it's too long to post here. I'm putting as much as I can and am anxiously hoping that someone can give me an answer, because I am at my wits' end. The NextGEQ function is too long to put here, but it reads a list of compressed blocks of docids block by block. That is, if it sees that the lastdocid in the block (in a separate list) is larger than the docid passed in, it decompresses the block and searches until it finds the right one. If it sees that it was already decompressed, it just searches. Below, when I call the function the first time, it decompresses a block and finds the docid; the push onto the queue after that works. The second time, it doesn't even need to decompress; that is, no new memory is allocated, but after that time, pushing on to the queue gives a bad_alloc error. struct DOC{ long int docid; long double rank; public: DOC() { docid = 0; rank = 0.0; } DOC(int num, double ranking) { docid = num; rank = ranking; } bool operator>( const DOC & d ) const { return rank > d.rank; } bool operator<( const DOC & d ) const { return rank < d.rank; } }; struct listnode{ int* metapointer; int* blockpointer; int docposition; int frequency; int numberdocs; int* iquery; listnode* nextnode; }; void QUERYMANAGER::SubmitQuery(char *query){ vector<DOC> docvec; docvec.reserve(20); DOC doct; //create a priority queue to use as a min-heap to store the documents and rankings; //although the priority queue uses the heap as its underlying data structure, //I found it easier to use the STL priority queue implementation priority_queue<DOC, vector<DOC>,std::greater<DOC>> q(docvec.begin(), docvec.end()); q.push(doct); //do some processing here; startlist is a pointer to a listnode struct that starts the //linked list cout << "Opening lists:" << endl; //point the linked list start pointer to the node returned by the OpenList method startlist = &OpenList(value); listnode* minpointer; q.push(doct); //more processing here; else{ //start by finding the first docid in the shortest list int i = 0; q.push(doct); num = NextGEQ(0, *startlist); q.push(doct); while(num != -1) cout << "finding nextGEQ from shortest list" << endl; q.push(doct); //the is where the problem starts - every previous q.push(doct) works; the one after //NextGEQ(num +1, *startlist) gives the bad_alloc error num = NextGEQ(num + 1, *startlist); q.push(doct); //if you didn't break out of the loop; i.e., all lists contain a matching docid, //calculate the document's rank; if it's one of the top 20, create a struct //containing the docid and the rank and add it to the priority queue if(!loop) { cout << "found match" << endl; if(num < 0) { cout << "reached end of list" << endl; //reached the end of the shortest list; close the list CloseList(startlist); break; } rank = calculateRanking(table, num); try{ //if the heap is not full, create a DOC struct with the docid and //rank and add it to the heap if(q.size() < 20) { doc.docid = num; doc.rank = rank; q.push(doct); q.push(doc); } } catch (exception& e) { cout << e.what() << endl; } } } Thank you very much, bsg.

  • C# Help with a basic pedagogic example of a BackGroundWorker process populating a DataGridView

    - by Roger
    Scenario: I have a windows form that holds a DataGridWiew with 3 pre-defined columns. I have 3 variables declared outside the function and assigned to inside the function. I have a function that enumerates stuff and puts it in the 3 columns, line by line: string VARIABLE1; string VARIABLE2; string VARIABLE3; private void FunctionEnumerateStuff() { foreach (StuffObject STUFF in StuffCollection) { VARIABLE1 = STUFF.SubStuff1.ToString(); VARIABLE2 = STUFF.SubStuff2.ToString(); VARIABLE3 = STUFF.SubStuff3.ToString(); DatagridWiew1.Rows.Add(VALUE1, VALUE2, VALUE3); } } What I want to do, is to execute this function from a BackGroundWorker process, so that the GUI of the application will be smooth and responsive. I have read up on backgroundworkers but I am having trouble relating, because all examples seems to be of entirely different scenarios and most of them are overwelmingly complex. San some helpful pedagogic soul help me and others with a very basic example of how to get this to work in the simplest way possible. Thanks.

  • How to declare a(n) vector/array of reducer objects in Cilk++?

    - by Jin
    Hi All, I had a problem when I am using Cilk++, an extension to C++ for parallel computing. I found that I can't declare a vector of reducer objects: typedef cilk::reducer_opadd<int> T_reducer; vector<T_reducer> bitmiss_vec; for (int i = 0; i < 24; ++i) { T_reducer r; bitmiss_vec.push_back(r); } However, when I compile the code with Cilk++, it complains at the push_back() line: cilk++ geneAttack.cilk -O1 -g -lcilkutil -o geneAttack   • jquery slideDown menu

    - by Elliott
    Hi, I have a link which once hovered over a box below slides down, once hover is removed it slides back up. I have it working almost to how I want, although in IE8 (Havent tested in other IE yet) the text in the box which slides down is not centerd. In firefox, when it slides down the corners are not smooth, but they are in IE. Live test here Code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $('#nav_top').corners('5px'); $('#nav_bottom').hide(); $('#nav_bottom').corners(); $('#link').hover(function() { $('#nav_top').corners('10px top'); $('#nav_bottom').stop(true, true).slideDown(); $('#nav_bottom').slideDown("slow"); }, function () { $('#nav_bottom').slideUp("fast"); } ); }); </script> <div id="nav_top"> <a href="javascript:void(0);" id="link">Hover</a> <div id="nav_bottom"> <br />Stuff </div> </div> </div> Any advice, also is it better to use .hover or .mouseEnter / mouseLeave? Thanks

  • Appropriate wx.Sizer(s) for the job?

    - by MetaHyperBolic
    I have a space in which I would like certain elements (represented here by A, B, D, and G) to each be in its own "corner" of the design. The corners ought to line up as if each of the four elements was repelling the other; a rectangle. This is to be contained within an unresizable panel. I will have several similar panels and want to keep the location of the elements as identical as possible. (I needed something a little more complex than a wx.Wizard, but with the same general idea.) AAAAAAAAAA BB CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC DDD EEE FFF GGG A represents a text in a large font. B represents a numeric progress meter (e.g. "1 of 7") in a small font. C represents a large block of text. D, E, F, and G are buttons. The G button is separated from others for functionality. I have attempted nested wx.BoxSizers (horizontal boxes inside of one vertical box) without luck. My first problem with wx.BoxSizer is that the .SetMinSize on my last row has not been honored. The second problem is that I have no idea how to make the G button "take up space" without growing comically large, or how I can jam it up against the right edge and bottom edge. I have tried to use a wx.GridBagSizer, but ran into entirely different issues. After plowing through the various online tutorials and wxPython in Action, I'm a little frustrated. The relevant forums appear to see activity once every two weeks. "Playing around with it" has gotten me nowhere; I feel as if I am trying to smooth out a hump in ill-laid carpet.

  • FLV performance and garbage collection

    - by justinbach
    I'm building a large flash site (AS3) that uses huge FLVs as transition videos from section to section. The FLVs are 1280x800 and are being scaled to 1680x1050 (much of which is not displayed to users with smaller screens), and are around 5-8 seconds apiece. I'm encoding the videos using On2's hi-def codec, VP6-S, and playback is pretty good with native FLV players, Perian-equipped Quicktime, and simple proof-of-concept FLV playback apps built in AS3. The problem I'm having is that in the context of the actual site, playback isn't as smooth; the framerate isn't quite as good as it should be, and more problematically, there's occasional jerkiness and dropped frames (sometimes pausing the video for as long as a quarter of a second or so). My guess is that this is being caused by garbage collection in the Flash player, which happens nondeterministically and is therefore hard to test and control for. I'm using a single instance of FLVPlayback to play the videos; I originally was using NetStream objects and so forth directly but switched to FLVPlayback for this reason. Has anyone experienced this sort of jerkiness with FLVPlayback (or more generally, with hi-def Flash video)? Am I right about GC being the culprit here, and if so, is there any way to prevent it during playback of these system-intensive transitions?

  • Lighting does not work with gluSphere

    - by badcodenotreat
    This is a simple issue that I'm somewhat ashamed to ask for help on. I'm making a simple call to gluSphere to render a sphere, however, it does not light properly even though I'm pretty sure I added the normals and lighting correctly. If, however, I add a texture, the model lights normally, except it seems to be always SMOOTH, and I cannot change it to flat. This is the lighting code in my init() function: gl.glLightfv( GL.GL_LIGHT0, GL.GL_AMBIENT , AMBIENT_LIGHT, 0 ); gl.glLightfv( GL.GL_LIGHT0, GL.GL_DIFFUSE , DIFFUSE_LIGHT, 0 ); gl.glLightfv( GL.GL_LIGHT0, GL.GL_POSITION, light_pos , 0 ); gl.glEnable ( GL.GL_LIGHT0 ); gl.glEnable ( GL.GL_LIGHTING ); this is my sphere code in my display() function: gl.glColor3d(1.0, 1.0, 1.0); glu.gluQuadricDrawStyle (quad, GLU.GLU_FILL); glu.gluQuadricNormals (quad, GLU.GLU_FLAT); glu.gluQuadricOrientation(quad, GLU.GLU_OUTSIDE); glu.gluSphere(quad, 1.0, lat, lon); Please advise.

  • R: How to remove outliers from a smoother in ggplot2?

    - by John
    I have the following data set that I am trying to plot with ggplot2, it is a time series of three experiments A1, B1 and C1 and each experiment had three replicates. I am trying to add a stat which detects and removes outliers before returning a smoother (mean and variance?). I have written my own outlier function (not shown) but I expect there is already a function to do this, I just have not found it. I've looked at stat_sum_df("median_hilow", geom = "smooth") from some examples in the ggplot2 book, but I didn't understand the help doc from Hmisc to see if it removes outliers or not. Is there a function to remove outliers like this in ggplot, or where would I amend my code below to add my own function? library (ggplot2) data = data.frame (day = c(1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7,1,3,5,7), od = c( 0.1,1.0,0.5,0.7 ,0.13,0.33,0.54,0.76 ,0.1,0.35,0.54,0.73 ,1.3,1.5,1.75,1.7 ,1.3,1.3,1.0,1.6 ,1.7,1.6,1.75,1.7 ,2.1,2.3,2.5,2.7 ,2.5,2.6,2.6,2.8 ,2.3,2.5,2.8,3.8), series_id = c( "A1", "A1", "A1","A1", "A1", "A1", "A1","A1", "A1", "A1", "A1","A1", "B1", "B1","B1", "B1", "B1", "B1","B1", "B1", "B1", "B1","B1", "B1", "C1","C1", "C1", "C1", "C1","C1", "C1", "C1", "C1","C1", "C1", "C1"), replicate = c( "A1.1","A1.1","A1.1","A1.1", "A1.2","A1.2","A1.2","A1.2", "A1.3","A1.3","A1.3","A1.3", "B1.1","B1.1","B1.1","B1.1", "B1.2","B1.2","B1.2","B1.2", "B1.3","B1.3","B1.3","B1.3", "C1.1","C1.1","C1.1","C1.1", "C1.2","C1.2","C1.2","C1.2", "C1.3","C1.3","C1.3","C1.3")) > data day od series_id replicate 1 1 0.10 A1 A1.1 2 3 1.00 A1 A1.1 3 5 0.50 A1 A1.1 4 7 0.70 A1 A1.1 5 1 0.13 A1 A1.2 6 3 0.33 A1 A1.2 7 5 0.54 A1 A1.2 8 7 0.76 A1 A1.2 9 1 0.10 A1 A1.3 10 3 0.35 A1 A1.3 11 5 0.54 A1 A1.3 12 7 0.73 A1 A1.3 13 1 1.30 B1 B1.1 This is what I have so far and is working nicely, but outliers are not removed: r <- ggplot(data = data, aes(x = day, y = od)) r + geom_point(aes(group = replicate, color = series_id)) + # add points geom_line(aes(group = replicate, color = series_id)) + # add lines geom_smooth(aes(group = series_id)) # add smoother, average of each replicate

  • Higher order function « filter » in C++

    - by Red Hyena
    Hi all. I wanted to write a higher order function filter with C++. The code I have come up with so far is as follows: #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <functional> #include <algorithm> #include <vector> #include <list> #include <iterator> using namespace std; bool isOdd(int const i) { return i % 2 != 0; } template < template <class, class> class Container, class Predicate, class Allocator, class A > Container<A, Allocator> filter(Container<A, Allocator> const & container, Predicate const & pred) { Container<A, Allocator> filtered(container); container.erase(remove_if(filtered.begin(), filtered.end(), pred), filtered.end()); return filtered; } int main() { int const a[] = {23, 12, 78, 21, 97, 64}; vector<int const> const v(a, a + 6); vector<int const> const filtered = filter(v, isOdd); copy(filtered.begin(), filtered.end(), ostream_iterator<int const>(cout, " ")); } However on compiling this code, I get the following error messages that I am unable to understand and hence get rid   • How do I pass a lot of parameters to views in Dango?

    - by Mark
    I'm very new to Django and I'm trying to build an application to present my data in tables and charts. Till now my learning process went very smooth, but now I'm a bit stuck. My pageview retrieves large amounts of data from a database and puts it in the context. The template then generates different html-tables. So far so good. Now I want to add different charts to the template. I manage to do this by defining <img src=".../> tags. The Matplotlib chart is generate in my chartview an returned via: response=HttpResponse(content_type='image/png') canvas.print_png(response) return response Now I have different questions: the data is retrieved twice from the database. Once in the pageview to render the tables, and again in the chartview for making the charts. What is the best way to pass the data, already in the context of the page to the chartview? I need a lot of charts, each with different datasets. I could make a chartview for each chart, but probably there is a better way. How do I pass the different dataset names to the chartview? Some charts have 20 datasets, so I don't think that passing these dataset parameters via the url (like: <imgm src="chart/dataset1/dataset2/.../dataset20/chart.png />) is the right way. Any advice?

  • How to declare a vector or array of reducer objects in Cilk++?

    - by Jin
    Hi All, I had a problem when I am using Cilk++, an extension to C++ for parallel computing. I found that I can't declare a vector of reducer objects: typedef cilk::reducer_opadd<int> T_reducer; vector<T_reducer> bitmiss_vec; for (int i = 0; i < 24; ++i) { T_reducer r; bitmiss_vec.push_back(r); } However, when I compile the code with Cilk++, it complains at the push_back() line: cilk++ geneAttack.cilk -O1 -g -lcilkutil -o geneAttack I'm wondering if it's bad design practice to leave this entirely in a header file like this: #pragma once #include <string> #include <boost/noncopyable.hpp> #include <boost/make_shared.hpp> #include <boost/iterator/iterator_facade.hpp> #include <Windows.h> #include "../Exception.hpp" namespace WindowsAPI { namespace FileSystem { class FileData; struct AllResults; struct FilesOnly; template <typename Filter_T = AllResults> class DirectoryIterator; namespace detail { class DirectoryIteratorImpl : public boost::noncopyable { WIN32_FIND_DATAW currentData; HANDLE hFind; std::wstring root; public: inline DirectoryIteratorImpl(); inline explicit DirectoryIteratorImpl(const std::wstring& pathSpec); inline void increment(); inline bool equal(const DirectoryIteratorImpl& other) const; inline const std::wstring& GetPathRoot() const; inline const WIN32_FIND_DATAW& GetCurrentFindData() const; inline ~DirectoryIteratorImpl(); }; } class FileData //Serves as a proxy to the WIN32_FIND_DATA struture inside the iterator. { boost::shared_ptr<detail::DirectoryIteratorImpl> iteratorSource; public: FileData(const boost::shared_ptr<detail::DirectoryIteratorImpl>& parent) : iteratorSource(parent) {}; DWORD GetAttributes() const { return iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().dwFileAttributes; }; bool IsDirectory() const { return (GetAttributes() | FILE_ATTRIBUTE_DIRECTORY) != 0; }; bool IsFile() const { return !IsDirectory(); }; bool IsArchive() const { return (GetAttributes() | FILE_ATTRIBUTE_ARCHIVE) != 0; }; bool IsReadOnly() const { return (GetAttributes() | FILE_ATTRIBUTE_READONLY) != 0; }; unsigned __int64 GetSize() const { ULARGE_INTEGER intValue; intValue.LowPart = iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().nFileSizeLow; intValue.HighPart = iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().nFileSizeHigh; return intValue.QuadPart; }; std::wstring GetFolderPath() const { return iteratorSource->GetPathRoot(); }; std::wstring GetFileName() const { return iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().cFileName; }; std::wstring GetFullFileName() const { return GetFolderPath() + GetFileName(); }; std::wstring GetShortFileName() const { return iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().cAlternateFileName; }; FILETIME GetCreationTime() const { return iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().ftCreationTime; }; FILETIME GetLastAccessTime() const { return iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().ftLastAccessTime; }; FILETIME GetLastWriteTime() const { return iteratorSource->GetCurrentFindData().ftLastWriteTime; }; }; struct AllResults : public std::unary_function<const FileData&, bool> { bool operator()(const FileData&) { return true; }; }; struct FilesOnly : public std::unary_function<const FileData&, bool> { bool operator()(const FileData& arg) { return arg.IsFile(); }; }; template <typename Filter_T> class DirectoryIterator : public boost::iterator_facade<DirectoryIterator<Filter_T>, const FileData, std::input_iterator_tag> { friend class boost::iterator_core_access; boost::shared_ptr<detail::DirectoryIteratorImpl> impl; FileData current; Filter_T filter; void increment() { do { impl->increment(); } while (! filter(current)); }; bool equal(const DirectoryIterator& other) const { return impl->equal(*other.impl); }; const FileData& dereference() const { return current; }; public: DirectoryIterator(Filter_T functor = Filter_T()) : impl(boost::make_shared<detail::DirectoryIteratorImpl>()), current(impl), filter(functor) { }; explicit DirectoryIterator(const std::wstring& pathSpec, Filter_T functor = Filter_T()) : impl(boost::make_shared<detail::DirectoryIteratorImpl>(pathSpec)), current(impl), filter(functor) { }; }; namespace detail { DirectoryIteratorImpl::DirectoryIteratorImpl() : hFind(INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) { } DirectoryIteratorImpl::DirectoryIteratorImpl(const std::wstring& pathSpec) { std::wstring::const_iterator lastSlash = std::find(pathSpec.rbegin(), pathSpec.rend(), L'\\').base(); root.assign(pathSpec.begin(), lastSlash); hFind = FindFirstFileW(pathSpec.c_str(), &currentData); if (hFind == INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) WindowsApiException::ThrowFromLastError(); while (!wcscmp(currentData.cFileName, L".") || !wcscmp(currentData.cFileName, L"..")) { increment(); } } void DirectoryIteratorImpl::increment() { BOOL success = FindNextFile(hFind, &currentData); if (success) return; DWORD error = GetLastError(); if (error == ERROR_NO_MORE_FILES) { FindClose(hFind); hFind = INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE; } else { WindowsApiException::Throw(error); } } DirectoryIteratorImpl::~DirectoryIteratorImpl() { if (hFind != INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) FindClose(hFind); } bool DirectoryIteratorImpl::equal(const DirectoryIteratorImpl& other) const { if (this == &other) return true; return hFind == other.hFind; } const std::wstring& DirectoryIteratorImpl::GetPathRoot() const { return root; } const WIN32_FIND_DATAW& DirectoryIteratorImpl::GetCurrentFindData() const { return currentData; } } }}

  • Is there a version of the removeElement function in Go for the vector package like Java has in its V

    - by Brian T Hannan
    I am porting over some Java code into Google's Go language and I converting all code except I am stuck on just one part after an amazingly smooth port. My Go code looks like this and the section I am talking about is commented out: func main() { var puzzleHistory * vector.Vector; puzzleHistory = vector.New(0); var puzzle PegPuzzle; puzzle.InitPegPuzzle(3,2); puzzleHistory.Push(puzzle); var copyPuzzle PegPuzzle; var currentPuzzle PegPuzzle; currentPuzzle = puzzleHistory.At(0).(PegPuzzle); isDone := false; for !isDone { currentPuzzle = puzzleHistory.At(0).(PegPuzzle); currentPuzzle.findAllValidMoves(); for i := 0; i < currentPuzzle.validMoves.Len(); i++ { copyPuzzle.NewPegPuzzle(currentPuzzle.holes, currentPuzzle.movesAlreadyDone); copyPuzzle.doMove(currentPuzzle.validMoves.At(i).(Move)); // There is no function in Go's Vector that will remove an element like Java's Vector //puzzleHistory.removeElement(currentPuzzle); copyPuzzle.findAllValidMoves(); if copyPuzzle.validMoves.Len() != 0 { puzzleHistory.Push(copyPuzzle); } if copyPuzzle.isSolutionPuzzle() { fmt.Printf("Puzzle Solved"); copyPuzzle.show(); isDone = true; } } } } If there is no version available, which I believe there isn't ... does anyone know how I would go about implementing such a thing on my own?

  • C++ simple logging class with UTF-8 output [code example]

    - by Andrew
    Hello everyone, I was working on one of my academic projects and for the first time I needed pure C++ without GUI. After googling for a while, I did not find any simple and easy to use implementation for logging and created my own. This is a simple implementation with iostreams that logs messages to screen and to the file simultaneously. I was thinking of using templates but then I realized that I do not expect any changes and removed that. It is modified std::wostream with two added modifiers: 1. TimeStamp - prints time-stamp 2. LogMode(LogModes) - switches output: file only, screen only, file+screen. *Boost::utf8_codecvt_facet* is used for UTF-8 output. // ############################################################################ // # Name: MyLog.h # // # Purpose: Logging Class Header # // # Author: Andrew Drach # // # Modified by: <somebody> # // # Created: 03/21/10 # // # SVN-ID: $Id$ # // # Copyright: (c) 2010 Andrew Drach # // # Licence: <license> # // ############################################################################ #ifndef INCLUDED_MYLOG_H #define INCLUDED_MYLOG_H // headers -------------------------------------------------------------------- #include <string> #include <iostream> #include <fstream> #include <exception> #include <boost/program_options/detail/utf8_codecvt_facet.hpp> using namespace std; // definitions ---------------------------------------------------------------- // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // DblBuf class // Splits up output stream into two // Inspired by http://wordaligned.org/articles/cpp-streambufs // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- class DblBuf : public wstreambuf { private: // private member declarations DblBuf(); wstreambuf *bf1; wstreambuf *bf2; virtual int_type overflow(int_type ch) { int_type eof = traits_type::eof(); int_type not_eof = !eof; if ( traits_type::eq_int_type(ch,eof) ) return not_eof; else { char_type ch1 = traits_type::to_char_type(ch); int_type r1( bf1on ? bf1->sputc(ch1) : not_eof ); int_type r2( bf2on ? bf2->sputc(ch1) : not_eof ); return (traits_type::eq_int_type(r1,eof) || traits_type::eq_int_type(r2,eof) ) ? eof : ch; } } virtual int sync() { int r1( bf1on ? bf1->pubsync() : NULL ); int r2( bf2on ? bf2->pubsync() : NULL ); return (r1 == 0 && r2 == 0) ? 0 : -1; } public: // public member declarations explicit DblBuf(wstreambuf *bf1, wstreambuf *bf2) : bf1(bf1), bf2(bf2) { if (bf1) bf1on = true; else bf1on = false; if (bf2) bf2on = true; else bf2on = false; } bool bf1on; bool bf2on; }; // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // logstream class // Wrapper for a standard wostream with access to modified buffer // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- class logstream : public wostream { private: // private member declarations logstream(); public: // public member declarations DblBuf *buf; explicit logstream(wstreambuf *StrBuf, bool isStd = false) : wostream(StrBuf, isStd), buf((DblBuf*)StrBuf) {} }; // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // Logging mode Class // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- enum LogModes{LogToFile=1, LogToScreen, LogToBoth}; class LogMode { private: // private member declarations LogMode(); short mode; public: // public member declarations LogMode(short mode1) : mode(mode1) {} logstream& operator()(logstream &stream1) { switch(mode) { case LogToFile: stream1.buf->bf1on = true; stream1.buf->bf2on = false; break; case LogToScreen: stream1.buf->bf1on = false; stream1.buf->bf2on = true; break; case LogToBoth: stream1.buf->bf1on = true; stream1.buf->bf2on = true; } return stream1; } }; logstream& operator<<(logstream &out, LogMode mode) { return mode(out); } wostream& TimeStamp1(wostream &out1) { time_t time1; struct tm timeinfo; wchar_t timestr[512]; // Get current time and convert it to a string time(&time1); localtime_s (&timeinfo, &time1); wcsftime(timestr, 512,L"[%Y-%b-%d %H:%M:%S %p] ",&timeinfo); return out1 << timestr; } // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // MyLog class // Logs events to both file and screen // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- class MyLog { private: // private member declarations MyLog(); auto_ptr<DblBuf> buf; string mErrorMsg1; string mErrorMsg2; string mErrorMsg3; string mErrorMsg4; public: // public member declarations explicit MyLog(string FileName1, wostream *ScrLog1, locale utf8locale1); ~MyLog(); void NewEvent(wstring str1, bool TimeStamp = true); string FileName; wostream *ScrLog; wofstream File; auto_ptr<logstream> Log; locale utf8locale; }; // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- // MyLog constructor // ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- MyLog::MyLog(string FileName1, wostream *ScrLog1, locale utf8locale1) : // ctors mErrorMsg1("Failed to open file for application logging!   • ios 4.1 doesn't call Phonegap API

    - by Johannes Klauß
    I'm working on a cross platform app for Android 2.2 and iOS 4.1 (dev devices). On Android everything works fine (accelerometer and geolocation) even if it's a little laggy. On iOS it's way more smooth, but he doesn't call the Phonegap functions. That's my JS code: var watchID = null; var shaking = { left: false, right: true }; function startWatch() { // Update acceleration every 100 ms var options = { frequency : 100 }; watchID = navigator.accelerometer.watchAcceleration(function(acceleration) { if(acceleration.x < -8) { shaking.left = true; } else if(acceleration.x > 8) { shaking.right = true; } if(shaking.left && shaking.right) { navigator.notification.vibrate(500); shaking.left = false; shaking.right = false; stopWatch(); } }, null, options); } I just call it with <a href="" onclick="startWatch();">start Accel</a> But iOS doesn't react at all. Is there any special call you need to do in iOS?

  • Automatic tracking algorithm

    - by nico
    Hi everyone, I'm trying to write a simple tracking routine to track some points on a movie. Essentially I have a series of 100-frames-long movies, showing some bright spots on dark background. I have ~100-150 spots per frame, and they move over the course of the movie. I would like to track them, so I'm looking for some efficient (but possibly not overkilling to implement) routine to do that. A few more infos: the spots are a few (es. 5x5) pixels in size the movement are not big. A spot generally does not move more than 5-10 pixels from its original position. The movements are generally smooth. the "shape" of these spots is generally fixed, they don't grow or shrink BUT they become less bright as the movie progresses. the spots don't move in a particular direction. They can move right and then left and then right again the user will select a region around each spot and then this region will be tracked, so I do not need to automatically find the points. As the videos are b/w, I though I should rely on brigthness. For instance I thought I could move around the region and calculate the correlation of the region's area in the previous frame with that in the various positions in the next frame. I understand that this is a quite naïve solution, but do you think it may work? Does anyone know specific algorithms that do this? It doesn't need to be superfast, as long as it is accurate I'm happy. Thank you nico

  • Optimization headers for UITableView?

    - by Pask
    I have an optimization problem for the headers of a table with plain style. If I use the standard view for the table (the classic gray with titles set by titleForHeaderInSection:) everything is ok and the scrolling is smooth and immediate. When, instead, use this code to set my personal view: - (UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section { return [self headerPerTitolo:[titoliSezioni objectAtIndex:section]]; } - (UIImageView *)headerPerTitolo:(NSString *)titolo { UIImageView *headerView = [[[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(10.0, 0.0, 320.0, 44.0)] autorelease]; headerView.image = [UIImage imageNamed:kNomeImmagineHeader]; headerView.alpha = kAlphaSezioniTablePlain; UILabel * headerLabel = [[[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero] autorelease]; headerLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; headerLabel.opaque = NO; headerLabel.textColor = [UIColor whiteColor]; headerLabel.font = [UIFont boldSystemFontOfSize:16]; headerLabel.frame = CGRectMake(10.0,-11.0, 320.0, 44.0); headerLabel.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentLeft; headerLabel.text = titolo; [headerView addSubview:headerLabel]; return headerView; } scrolling is jerky and not immediate (sliding the finger on the screen does not match an immediate shift of the table). I do not know what caused this problem, maybe the fact that every time the method viewForHeaderInSection: is called, the code runs to create a new UIImageView. I tried many ways to solve the problem, such as creating an array of all the necessary view: apart from more time spent loading at startup, there is a continuing problem of low reactivity of the table. 've Attempted by reducing the size of UIImageView positioned from about 66 KB to 4 KB: not only has a deterioration in quality of colors (which distorts a bit 'original graphics), but ... the problem persists! Perhaps you have suggestions about it, or know me obscure techniques that enable me to optimize this aspect of my application ... I apologize for my English, I used Google for translation.

  • Implementing scroll view that is much larger than the screen view with random images

    - by pulegium
    What I'm trying to do is to implement something like the fruit machine scroll view. Basically I have a sequence of images (randomly generated on the fly) and I want to allow the users to scroll through this line. There can fit approx 10 images on the screen, but the line is virtually unlimited. My question is what would be the best approach in implementing this? So far I've thought of having a UIImageView going across the screen (with width equal to the sum of 10 images) and the image associated with it would be a combination of 12 or so images, with two images falling out of the visible area, this would allow for smooth scrolling. If the user scrolls further, then I would reconstruct the image associated with the view so the new images are appended and the old one's are discarded. This image reconstruction business sounds bit complicated, so I was wondering if there's a more logical way to implement this. There's one more thing, I want to have two lines crossing each other with images, bit like conveyor belts crossing. If that makes any sense... Bit like below: V1 V2 H1 H2 H3 H4 H5 V4 V5 So if the vertical belt is moved it'd be like: V2 H3 H1 H2 V4 H4 H5 V5 V6 H1-H5, V1-V6 being automatically generated images. I'm not asking for the implementation code, just the thoughts on the principles how to implement this. Thanks!! :)

  • SVN supports historical merges so how is Mercurial better?

    - by radman
    Hi, I'm a long time SVN user and have been hearing a lot of brou ha ha with regard to mercurial and decentralised version control systems in general. The main touted feature that I am aware of is that merging in Mercurial is much easier because it records information for each merge so each successive merge is aware of the previous ones. Now as stated in the red book, in the section to do with merging, SVN already supports this with mergeinfo. Now I have not actually used this feature (although I wanted to, our repo version wasn't recent enough) but is this SVN feature particularly different to what Mercurial offers? For anyone who is not aware the suggested work flow for historical merging in svn is this: branch from the development trunk to do your own thing. Regularly merge changes from trunk into your branch to stay up to date. Merge back when your done with the mergeinfo to smooth the process. Without historical data merging this is a nightmare because the comparison is strictly on the differences in the files and does not take into account the steps taken on the way. So each change in the development trunk puts you further into possible conflict when you merge back. Now what I would like to know is: Does merging using Mercurial provide a significant advantage when compared with mergeinfo in SVN or is this just a lot of hot air about nothing? Has anyone used the mergeinfo feature in SVN and how good is it actually in practice?

  • OpenGL Colour Interpolation

    - by Will-of-fortune
    I'm currently working on an little project in C++ and OpenGL and am trying to implement a colour selection tool similar to that in photoshop, as below. However I am having trouble with interpolation of the large square. Working on my desktop computer with a 8800 GTS the result was similar but the blending wasn't as smooth. This is the code I am using: GLfloat swatch[] = { 0,0,0, 1,1,1, mR,mG,mB, 0,0,0 }; GLint swatchVert[] = { 400,700, 400,500, 600,500, 600,700 }; glVertexPointer(2, GL_INT, 0, swatchVert); glColorPointer(3, GL_FLOAT, 0, swatch); glDrawArrays(GL_QUADS, 0, 4); Moving onto my laptop with Intel Graphics HD 3000, this result was even worse with no change in code. I thought it was OpenGL splitting the quad into two triangles, so I tried rendering using triangles and interpolating the colour in the middle of the square myself but it still doesnt quite match the result I was hoping for. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • The move from IE6/XP to IE8/Win7 and its effect on ASP.NET applications

    - by user311020
    Hello, The company I work for is preparing for application testing in IE8. Previously we have been using IE6. Many of our web applications are written in .NET 1.0 and 1.1 with more recent apps written in 2.x and 3.x. I know IE8 has an IE7 compatibility mode and it says it has a quirks mode, but most of our apps were written for 6, which is not specifically mentioned. Compatibility is for 7, which had a compatibility for 6. I do not know if that is necessarily carried over to 8. In 6 quirks mode was to run 5.5 sites without a problem. With no deeper explanation on any of Microsoft's release notes does it mention quirks mode as 6 compliant or even 5.5, just a basis of what it is (specific DOCTYPEs or no DOCTYPEs). If anyone could shed some light on how sites and apps designed for IE6 should run in IE8 would be greatly appreciated. If anyone else has made a similar move how smooth was the transition? Thanks.
