  • Windows 7 Pro sysprep not working

    Hello, I'm trying to sysprep a Windows 7 Professional machine, prior to grabbing an image for mass deployment on identical hardware, and am having a hard time getting sysprep to work (at all). I've created an XML answer file with WSIM, and have a basic setupcomplete.cmd file, but none of the configurations in the answer file seem to be applied. I've read technet articles and googled, and I still have no idea why this is happening.   • APPDATA and LOCALAPPDATA environment variables are not set on a profile in Windows 7 Pro 32bit

    I am having problem with a user account on a Windows 7 machine (local install, admin user account) APPDATA and LOCALAPPDATA environment are not set. Another user on the same machine, (also a local account, but without admin rights) has the variables set. This started to happen recently, however, I can not figure out if there was something installed on the machine to cause this. This is creating issues with applications that are trying to expand the variables to store local files. Thank you for the help.

  • Domain authentication over OPEN wireless pre-logon (Windows 7 Pro) - No logon servers avail

    I have a plethora of laptops that are joined to an AD domain. I have an enterprise wireless system setup, the users of these laptops will be using an OPEN unsecured SSID which will ultimately have a captive portal that uses Radius-AD auth and firewall rules to allow access pre-captive portal auth to the proper ip's/ports of DC's etc for auth etc. I already have other laptops/users connecting to another SSID with 802.11x and SSO, all works perfectly pre-logon etc. My problem is with this open network, for some reason I cannot get the machines to auth to AD. The laptops connect to the wireless network, I confirm this on the controller and can ping the laptop at startup. I sharked the wires on the 2 DC's that these machines auth to, I can see a DNS SOA update from a laptop im testing with and can ping that test laptop from both DC's. When I try to logon, "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request." The shark shows no incoming connections to either DC even though the laptop is connected and pingable. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I will write a unit test for specifying the behavior of an Ajax request and will write another unit test for specifying the behavior of a normal HTTP request. Both Ajax request and normal request will be handled by a single action method. So the ASP.NET MVC action method will be execute HTTP Request object’s IsAjaxRequest method for identifying whether it is an Ajax request or not.   • Switch Windows 8 from a hybrid MBR/GPT => GPT only on Macbook Pro Retina

    I used DiskUtility+Bootcamp Wizard to setup my hard drive for Windows 8 (final MSDN). Somewhere in that process, the Apple tools turned my GPT disk into a hybrid MBR/GPT. All my 4 primary MBR partitions are used up, so when I try turning on Bitlocker in Windows 8, it complains about not finding a System drive. I know on Windows 8 the Bitlocker setup tries to create the 200(?)MB system partition if it's missing. However with all 4 partitions filled I suspect it can't create system drive = it can't find it = throws back an error like "BitLocker Setup could not find a target system drive. You may need to manually prepare your drive for BitLocker". I've already tried disabling hibernation, swap file etc. Now I'm thinking that if I were to get rid of the MBR scheme altogether, perhaps I can be alright within the GPT world without MBR's 4 primary partitions limit. So, how can I get rid of the MBR tables on the hybrid scheme in a manner that still leaves Mac OS and Windows 8 in working conditions? Details: Hardware is the MacbookPro Retina. I asked before a question about this: http://serverfault.com/questions/13906/how-to-fix-subfolders-iis7-functionality But i feel that no one is facing this problem except me, so i want to know what i am doing wrong or if someone had the same problem please tell me. all my website are in subfolders from the root folder, the problem that all links are showing like this: www.example.com/example/...., www.anotherwebsite.com/anotherwebsite/.... such as this http://amrelgarhy.com/ Means the folder name is showing in the URL, i did all what i can and discussed with godaddy a lot, but they always tell that its a IIS7 problem. Did you face this problem before or know a solution for?

  • Old PCI Video Card and PCI-Express ATI Radeon HD 4200 Pro Living Together

    I have two video cards installed in a Dell Optiplex 745. The PCI card is from 2001 and I was hoping to be able to install it, allowing me to have 3 monitors. The Radeon is already running two itself. The problem is that when I boot the box with default BIOS settings the PCI card displays video to the single display but not the other two. In device manager I can see that both video cards are visible with drivers loaded correctly but underneath monitors I only have a single Generic PnP monitor from the VGA connection to the PCI card. If I switch the BIOS setting to force PCI-E I get the Radeon to display to the two other monitors. When I check device manager with this configuration I see that the PCI card displays an error saying the driver could not be started. Any ideas?
