    In former Mac OS x versions it was possible to call Cocoa methods via the "call method" command in applescript ("Applescript Studio"). E.g. this way: set theURL to "http://www.apple.com" set URLWithString to (call method "stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:" of theURL with parameter 30) The script interpreter in the "Applescript Editor" (10.6) does not understand the command "call method". - Is there an equivalent for "Applescript Editor" (10.6)?

  • appstore launch request unable to complete

    I am trying to launch an appstore page with either of the calls: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/myappname/id999999999?mt=8"]]; [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.itunes.com/apps/myappname"]]; Both of these urls work when I enter them in a browser. However, from both simulator and device, I get a "Your request could not be completed" error dialog right after it appears to try to launch the appstore. Is there something obvious that I'm doing wrong?

    Hi, I'm writing a POS application for the iPhone/iPod combination, using the same exact hardware used in Apple Stores:: EasyPay. Ok, my hurdle is this: how do I identify which credit card type is being used as text is entered in the uitextfield? I assume I've to use textField:shouldChangeCharactersInRange:replacementString:? However, I've got ideas floating around, but I simple cannot put them together to form code :/ Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advanced :D

    I want to learn a simple language so I can code simple things maybe eventually a game but I don't know where to start. I can code simple things using apple script but you can't do that much with that and it only works on macs. I have a mac and a dell so something that I could code and run on both would be nice.   • BetterAuthorizationSample weird???

    I have a quick, newbie question... I just started looking through authrozation services and Apple's BetterAuthorizationSample... for some reason, I just can't get the hang of it. For example... I deleted the HelperTool and InstallTool and SampleTool.c and all references, but why does the program seem to continue work like nothing happened at all even after a clean build? Even commenting out all the code in SampleTOol.c doesn't seem to affect the way the program runs? Thanks

  • Workaround for JFormattedTextField delete bug in Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 2 (1.6.0_20)

    There is apparently a bug introduced in the latest Java update for Mac OS X, which causes deletes in JFormattedTextFields to be performed twice. See http://lists.apple.com/archives/java-dev/2010/May/msg00092.html The DefaultEditorKit.deletePrevCharAction is invoked twice when the delete key is pressed. Are there any suggestions for a workaround? I'm thinking of replacing the delete action for my text fields with a patched version that somehow filters out these duplicate invocations.

    Hi All, I downloaded latest SDK xcode_3.2.2.2_and_iPhone_SDK_3.2_final.dmg from apple site. I uninstall the old SDk and double click the .dmg file then i got a popup stating that "The following Disk Images couldnt found" and "xcode_3.2.2.2_and_iPhone_SDK_3.2_final.dmg is not recognized". Currently I'm only testing in iPhone simulator, I'm going to buy the apple $99 developer thing soon. It doesn't log "accelerated!!1", but I'm guessing that's because I'm not running it on an actual device yet?

    Thank you for looking at my question, as I appreciate your time. Okay, so I'm trying to use jQuery's get function to call my php script which ultimately returns a variable which is a built template of the main content of my page minus my static header/footer, for which I would like to replace the "old" page content without the page reloading. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I'm going wrong here?     I am trying to mix dynamic and static cells in a grouped table view: I would like to get two sections with static cells at the top followed by a section of dynamic cells (please refer to the screenshot below). I have set the table view contents to static cells. The cell returned from cell = [super tableView:tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath] for section 0 and row 0 is nil. What is wrong with my code? Could there be any problems with my outlets? I haven't set any outlets because I am subclassing UITableViewController and supposedly do not any outlets for tableview to be set (?). Any suggestions on how to better do it? Edit II I have recreated my scene in storyboard (please refer to my updated screen shot above) and rewritten the view controller in order to start from a new base. I have also read the description in Apple's forum as applefreak suggested. However, I run in my first problem with the method numberOfSectionsInTableView:tableView, in which I increment the number of static sections (two) by one. - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return [super numberOfSectionsInTableView:tableView] + 1 ; } The app crashed with the error message: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[__NSArrayI objectAtIndex:]: index 2 beyond bounds [0 .. 1]' Why is this code not working for me even though I followed Apple's and applefreak recommendations? It is possible that the tableView has changed a bit in iOS 6? Solution: I got this to work now using AppleFreaks code sample in his answer below. Thank you, AppleFreak! Edit III: Cell Selection: How can I handle cell selection in a mixed (dynamic and static cells) cell table view? When do I call super and when do I call self tableView? When I use [[super tableView] selectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:NO scrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionNone] and try to check for the selected index paths with: UITableView *tableView = [super tableView]; if ( [[tableView indexPathForSelectedRow] isEqual:customGrowthIndexPath] ) { .. } I get an return value of nil. As I can't find the source of my error, I really would appreciate your help
