• How to pass interface type/GUID reference to an automation method in Delphi

  In Delphi you can pass class references around to compare the types of objects, and to instantiate them. Can you do the same with interface references being passed to a COM automation server? For example, you can define a method taking a GUID parameter using the type library editor: function ChildNodesOfType(NodeType: TGUID): IMBNode; safecall; In this function I would like to return automation types that support the interface specified by NodeType, e.g. if Supports(SomeNode, NodeType) then result := SomeNode; But the Supports call always fails, I tried passing in the Guids defined in the type library but none of the different types (Ixxx, Class_xxxx, IId_Ixxxx) seem to work.

• Swapping content in a seperate div on hover

  I feel like this should work: $(".module .one").hover(function() { $("#viewport #one").addClass('red'); }); Basically I am hiding all the .children of "#viewport on load, then when a seperate element is hovered, in this case .module .one I want to change something on the corresponding viewport ID #viewport #one. Basic idea is a variable content window, where when a thumbnail or whatever I put in the modules swaps the content shown in the viewport. Something I am doing wrong? • Problems with display of UTF-8 encoded content from a DB

  Dear members of the Stackoverflow community, We are developing a web application using the Zend Framework, and we are facing some encoding issues that we hope you might help us solve. The situation goes something like this: There are certain tables on a MySQL database that need to be displayed as html. Because the site is designed using the Spanish language, the database contains some characters like "á" or "ñ". Our internal policy is to set all the encodings as UTF-8, including all the databases and the tables. The problem is, that when we retrieve the content from the DB, some characters are displayed as question marks. We are out of ideas. These are all the things that we have already tried and double-checked: 1. The SQL file from which we load all the data is properly UTF-8 encoded. 2. The SQL is loaded through phpmyadmin (which is configured as UTF-8), and the resulting tables are displayed properly. 3. The netbeans environment used for coding is also set as UTF-8. The weird thing is that all the content that is hard-coded either as php or html is displayed properly. Only the values that are extracted from the database have issues. Any ideas?   Is there a way to get the defered type of a class template parameter ? template <class TPtr> struct foo { typedef TPtr ptr_type; typedef ??? element_type; /* shall be the type of a deferred TPtr*/ }; so foo<const char*>::element_type results in const char, and foo<std::vector<int>::iterator_type>::element_type results in int. i am aware of that i can use the value_type typedef for c++ iterators (like std::vector<int>::iterator_type::value_type), but raw pointers havent got a value_type typedef, so i am out of luck there.

  Hi, I'm having a problem with the content of a combobox. On my userform, there are 3 comboboxes. Depending on the chosen item from combobox1, combobox2 should display either set 1 or set 2. The same will be happening with the content of combobox 3, which depends upon the combination of chosen items from combobox 1 and 2. However, I'm running into problems with combobox 2, which is always populated by set 2, even if I select the item in combobox 1 that should generate set 1 in the second combobox.   I'm trying to compile a simple example of generic classes / type patterns (see http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/latest/html/users_guide/generic-classes.html) in Haskell but it won't compile. Any ideas about what's wrong with the code would be helpful. • Greasemonkey script not executed when unusual content loading is being used

  I'm trying to write a Greasemonkey script for Facebook and having some trouble with the funky page/content loading that they do (I don't quite understand this - a lot of the links are actually just changing the GET, but I think they do some kind of server redirect to make the URL look the same to the browser too?). Essentially the only test required is putting a GM_log() on its own in the script. If you click around Facebook, even with facebook.com/* as the pattern, it is often not executed. Is there anything I can do, or is the idea of a "page load" fixed in Greasemonkey, and FB is "tricking" it into not running by using a single URL? Note that this isn't due to late loading of certain parts of the DOM: I have adding some code later to wait for the relevant elements and, crucially, the message never gets logged for certain transitions. For example, when I switch from Messages to News Feed and back.

  I'm using Visual Studio 2008 with Feature Pack 1. I have a typedef like this typedef std::tr1::tuple<std::string, std::string, int> tileInfo with a function like this const tileInfo& GetTile( int x, int y ) const. In the implementation file the function has the exact same signature (with the added class name qualifier) and I am getting a redefinition: different type modifiers error. It seems to be looking for an int& instead of a tileInfo& When I mouse over the type of the function in the header, i.e. tileInfo& it brings up a little bar saying static const int tileInfo. I think this may be the problem, but I'm not sure what to do. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  Hi all, unfortunately the WPF ToolbarTray does not support binding to a collection of ToolbarViewModels (Correct me, if I'm wrong). Thus I want to create the Toolbars programmatically. So there are two tasks, which I don't know how to do: Select the data template based on the item type. Instantiate the data template as toolbar Both should do the same as WPF does, when we use ItemsControl with an enumerable content and empty template. I used reflector to anaylse what WPF does. Task 1 is done by FrameworkElement.FindTemplateResourceInternal, but this is internal, and I couldn't find any public methods to acomplish the task. Of course one could enumerate all resources and match the data template data type property, but this seems sub-optimal. Who know's how to acomplish these tasks?

• Changing an Action Type="click" to an auto action in SVG

  I have a SVG document that I exported from Visio 2003 that would like to edit. This file has an action where you click a button it will navigate to a new screen. What I would like to do is have the navigation be based off of a data point rather than having to click the button. As an example I have a dynamic point data being brought into the SVG file and when that value changes from 0 to 1, I want this screen to automatically navigate to another screen. I'm trying to invoke a method with reflection that has a generic return type, like this: public class SomeClass<T> { public List<T> GetStuff(); } I get an instance of SomeClass with a call to a Repository's GetClass<T> generic method. MethodInfo lGetSomeClassMethodInfo = typeof(IRepository) .GetMethod("GetClass") .MakeGenericMethod(typeof(SomeClass<>); object lSomeClassInstance = lGetSomeClassMethodInfo.Invoke( lRepositoryInstance, null); After that, I this is where I try to invoke the GetStuff method: typeof(SomeClass<>).GetMethod("GetStuff").Invoke(lSomeClassInstance, null) I get an exception about the fact that the method has generic arguments. However, I can't use MakeGenericMethod to resolve the return type. Also, if instead of typeof(SomeClass<>) I use lSomeClassInstance.GetType() (which should have resolved types) GetMethod("GetStuff") returns null! UPDATE I have found the solution and will post the answer shortly.

• Spring security - same page to deliver different content based on user role

  Hello, i tried to search for any previous post related to my issue but couldnt find any. I have a scenario where in page handles 3 different scenarios and one of them not working. This page returns different content depending on if the user is authenticated or anonymous. localhost:8080/myApp/muUrl?test=authenticatedContent - used for Scenario 1 & 2 localhost:8080/myApp/muUrl?test=anonymousContent - used for Scenario 3 Scenario: 1) Authenticated user accesing the page url - the user gets displayed correct information. Works fine 2) Anonymous user accesing page URL with parameters that requires authentication - If anonymous, there is second level of check on the content they are accessing. for example, based on the GET parameters, there is custom logic to determine if the user has to be authenticated. In which case the page gets redirected to login page (WORKS fine). 3) Anonymous user accessing page URL with parameters that doesnt need authentication - in this case i get the SAvedRequest and redirect to the URL which is taking me to an infinite loop. Am i missing something very obvious or is there a way in AuthenticationProcessFilterEntryPoint to say "DON'T redirect to LOGIN page but process it" ? thanks.

  Hi, Like a lot of people, I'd like to customize the ugly input type=file, and I know that it can't be done without some hacks and/or javascript. But, the thing is that in my case the upload file buttons are just for uploading images (jpeg|jpg|png|gif), so I was wondering if I could use a "clickable" image which would act exactly as an input type file (show the dialog box, and same $_FILE on submitted page). I found some workaround here, and this interesting one too (but does not work on Chrome =/). What do you guys do when you want to add some style to your file buttons? • Visual Studio - easy way to bring up type definition as source code

  Oftentimes I want to bring up a system class in a source view, so that I can browse the properties and methods exposed by the class in a source view. Below is the screenshot of what I mean: Usually I do this by selecting the class name and pressing F12 (or right clickGo To Definition). However, if I haven't got it anywhere ready, i have type it up and then do Go To Definition. Most of the time I have to delete what I typed later on. Is there a way to bring up this view without having to type the class name? The VS2010 Navigate To dialog doesn't support this.
