  • WPF Some styles not applied on DataTemplate controls

    Hi, I am trying to learn something about WPF and I am quite amazed by its flexibility. However, I have hit a problem with Styles and DataTemplates, which is little bit confusing. I have defined below test page to play around a bit with styles etc and found that the Styles defined in <Page.Resources> for Border and TextBlock are not applied in the DataTemplate, but Style for ProgressBar defined in exactly the same way is applied. I cannot find an easy explanation for above anywhere and thus would like to ask if someone would be kind enough to explain this behaviour in lamens' terms with possible links to technical description, i.e. to MSDN or so.   • Android USB Host Communication

    I'm working on a project that utilizes the USB Host capabilities in Android 3.2. I'm suffering from a deplorable lack of knowledge and talent regarding USB/Serial communication in general. I'm also unable to find any good example code for what I need to do. I need to read from a USB Communication Device. Ex: When I connect via Putty (on my PC) I enter: >GO And the device starts spewing out data for me. Pitch/Roll/Temp/Checksum. Ex: $R1.217P-0.986T26.3*60 $R1.217P-0.986T26.3*60 $R1.217P-0.987T26.3*61 $R1.217P-0.986T26.3*60 $R1.217P-0.985T26.3*63 I can send the initial 'GO' command from the Android device at which time I receive an echo of 'GO'. Then nothing else on any subsequent reads. How can I: 1) Send the 'go' command. 2) Read in the stream of data that results. The USB device I'm working with has the following interfaces (endpoints). Device Class: Communication Device (0x2) Interfaces: Interface #0 Class: Communication Device (0x2) Endpoint #0 Direction: Inbound (0x80) Type: Intrrupt (0x3) Poll Interval: 255 Max Packet Size: 32 Attributes: 000000011 Interface #1 Class: Communication Device Class (CDC) (0xa) Endpoint #0 Address: 129 Number: 1 Direction: Inbound (0x80) Type: Bulk (0x2) Poll Interval (0) Max Packet Size: 32 Attributes: 000000010 Endpoint #1 Address: 2 Number: 2 Direction: Outbound (0x0) Type: Bulk (0x2) Poll Interval (0) Max Packet Size: 32 Attributes: 000000010 I'm able to deal with permission, connect to the device, find the correct interface and assign the endpoints. I'm just having trouble figuring out which technique to use to send the initial command read the ensuing data. I'm tried different combinations of bulkTransfer and controlTransfer with no luck.   • iphone dylibs and frameworks are already in the device?

    Are dylibs and frameworks already in an iPhone, or does my app actually incorporate them? Also, in Xcode I see dylibs with identical names. Sometimes the subsequent names are incremented, as in libz.dylib, libz.1.dylib, libz.1.1.3.dylib, and libz.1.2.3.dylib. If I have to include libz, should I use the one with the highest rev number, assuming that that's what that is?

    I am creating a app wherein user shares some information. This data i am storing it in database through servlets i.e. i am calling my own servlets which will take data through url and store it in database. So i want other users of that same app to get notify that some information is available and in turn they will get the information that other user has updated. For this to work we can use polling or pusher. But polling will take lots of battery power. I have tried C2DM but its not working for me. So i am thinking for some other mechanism by which i can implement other than C2DM. Please suggest some way to work it. and e.g. if u have came across.

I know jQuery is capable of inserting a comment into a div area but i am having problems finding an example like that with fading in.     Basic example, if I bought a chipset with a light socket and bulb soldered to the chipset; then put a USB cable with the mini-USB plug on the end to get plugged into the android phone. Can I write a Java application to turn on/off the light, get the status of the light(on/off) and maybe power a super-small led/bulb with power from the phone itself?   • Why does this bash command take up all space on device?

I'm a little new on searching via bash, so feel free to give me suggestions on the methods to use instead of this, which I'll never use again :) I'm searching for occurances of a string, recursively in a directory, with ~50 not-that-large php-files in it; some in current directory, some in directories beneath current dir, three levels of directories down at most. The method I'm using is: find . | xargs grep "module" > module.txt When in simple (one level) directories, this works fine, but in this case, the file became 4 GB large until it filled up all space on the partition :) It wasn't even done yet.. Would someone educate me so I won't embarass myself again?

    I've used hierarachyviewer earlier, but on android emulator. It works absolutely fine when I use it on the emulator. However it does not work with Samsung Galaxy TAB 7.0, with Android 2.3.4.
