• MapView tiles loading in Android

  In the Maps application (at least version 5) for Android the tiles are loading in a different way, than when using a MapView in my own application, when for example zooming in or out. In the MapView displays a gray checkered image until the tile is fully loaded an than the map is displayed. In Maps application this it not the case all the time. Tiles that are not fully loaded are still showing a map but it is blurry. The Maps application way of showing the map when zooming is much prettier for the eye. Is it possible to have this "feature" in a MapView in my own application as well? Best regards P

  i have an asp.net mvc site and here is a dynamic tooltip using qTip Here is my code: $('a.showNutritionInfo').each(function() { $(this).qtip({ content: { text: '<img src="../../images/ajax-loader1.gif" alt="" />', style: { width: 450 }, url: '/Tracker/NutritionInfo/' + $(this).attr('id'), method: 'get' } }); }); this works perfectly EXCEPT the width attribute listed above is ignored. No matter what i put in that width attribute, i get the same size width tooltip which is about half of the width that i need. the height is perfectly fine. any ideas? is this a bug in the product ?

• SVG Using Adobe in IE doesn't work when loading page, but saving the page and then loading it works.

  So I'm trying to get a SVG document to load in IE. I can see it fine, but all calls to .getSVGDocument() fail, the svg onload="onload()" function never gets called and the right-click Adobe SVG Viewer context menu doesn't show up when right-clicking on the svg. It seems as though I'm managing to crash the adobe SVG viewer or something before it is able to call the onload function but after it has drawn the SVG document. As a test I saved the html page to my hard drive and loaded it up and walla - it works! Right-click, onload, and .getSVGDocument() all work. Very curious. For some reason getting the page from the server makes the adobe plugin crap out but loading up static HTML is fine. Any thoughts?

• GetBytes Issue in Loading External Flash

  I'm trying to debug a gallery section within a site of mine. Currently the section display a number of thumbnails which visitor select one to view. Once selected, the main flash loads in an external swf. To make the process smoother, I have a preloader for this process using normal getbytes codes. However for some reasons, the flash works fine in IE but not in Firefox or Chrome. In these browsers, as soon as you click the thumbnail, the preloader animated away to reveal the holder of the external swf. However as it is still loading, the holder is a blank area. Would appreciate if anyone can shed some light on why this is so.

Clicking on Button "Check". onClientClick for button "Check" will call WCF method with parameters. Let say that this request/response will take more that 10 seconds, meanwhile I'll see loading image near TextBox AND the most important, I can continue to work on other fields. • Strange problem with ie6 messing up layout, and fixing byitself some time after loading

  We have a big ie6 layout problem with a newly launched website: in the header in our homepage, we have a coda-slider, and apparently its messing upt the wole layout of the front page. I have been looking at float and height problems but cannot seem to solve it. Also, the most strange part is that if you wait a while after loading, the layout "fixes itself". Help! The url is the following (without the spaces, sorry) w w w . r e - c r e a r t . c o m Edit: update, it sounds crazy, but if you press control and use the mouse wheel (as if you were zooming in /out in a modern browser, although ie6 doesnt do that) the layout fixes as well. • Problem with loading compiled c code in R x64 using dyn.load

  I recently went from a 32bit laptop to a 64bit desktop (both win7). I just found out that I get an error now when loading dll's using dyn.load. I guess this is a simple mistake and I am overlooking something. For example, I write this simple c function (foo.c): void foo( int *x) {*x = *x + 1;} Then compile it in command prompt: R CMD SHLIB foo.c Then in 32bit R I can use it in R: > setwd("R") > dyn.load("foo.dll") > .C("foo",as.integer(1)) [[1]] [1] 2 but in 64bit R I get: > dyn.load("foo.dll") Error in inDL(x, as.logical(local), as.logical(now), ...) : unable to load shared object 'C:/Users/Sacha/Documents/R/foo.dll': LoadLibrary failure: %1 is not a valid Win32 application. nd.

  Say that python package A requires B, C and D; is there a way to list A → B C D without loading them ? Requires in the metadata (yolk -M A) are often incomplete, grr. One can download A.tar / A.egg, then look through A/setup.py, but some of those are pretty gory. (I'd have thought that getting at least first-level dependencies could be mechanized; even a 98 % solution would be better than avalanching downloads.) I need the cubes to load a split second from each other.   We have an JPA @Entity class (say User) which has a @ManyToOne reference (say Address) loaded using the EAGER option which in turn loads it's own @ManyToOne fields (say Country) in a EAGER fashion. We use the EntityQuery interface to count the list of User's based on a search criteria, during such a load all the @ManyToOne fields which have been marked as EAGER get loaded. But in order to perform a EntityQuery.resultCount(), I actually don't need to load the @ManyToOne fields. Is there a way to prevent loading of the EAGER fields in such cases so that we can avoid the unnecessary joins?

So, on clicking the button in my application i have used one intermediate page in that using iframe i passed that URL of an external application. Its working fine. But the problem is in the external applicatio which is not in my control on clicking an button it is moving to next page. In that page i want to hide an button. I did that also using div tag color as white and set the positions. But the problem is in all the pages in the same position that is affecting. So i want to get the url of the page which is loading in the iframe on the second or third click of an external application, so that i can using some conditions i can hide the control. So please any one help me to get the solution for this problem

• iphone dev - loading table content asynchronously

  My app has a navigation controller which push and pop a series of views. One of the tableViews loads .xml file from URL and it takes 4-5 seconds. If I click the back button on the navigation bar, it will only respond after the content of the table finish loading. Is there an easy way to load the content asynchronously so that the app will still respond to my gesture on the navigation bar? p.s. I search this on the Internet and people are talking about multithreading. I don't know a lot about threads so please be more specific. Thanks in advanced =)

• Pre-loading external files (CSS, JavaScript) for other pages

  I'm curious if there is an efficient way to wait for the front page of a site to load, and then pre-load CSS and script files that I know will likely be needed for the other pages on the site. I want the front page of the site to be as fast as possible (lean and mean). It's likely that the user will not immediately click on a link. Since there will likely be some idle time, this seems like an opportune time to pre-load some of the external assets. Pre-loading should cause them to become cached. When the user does click on another page, the only request needed will be for the content and possibly some images, etc. Has anyone done this? Is it a bad idea? Is there an elegant way to implement it?

  I'm currently in the process of putting up my first website for public use. I am using the codeigniter framework in order to do this, but I am having trouble loading the controllers from the url. I currently have the default codeigniter installment that you download trying to get things to work. The controller welcome is loaded by default, but when I try to load it through the url it doesn't work. I was having the same problem with the site that I had uploaded earlier. • 'Loading' web page for async call

  I have a simple web page in ASP.NET / C#. Currently to fully render the data I require calling a block of code that runs on background threads and can take multiple minutes to complete. I've got it to the point (using the async attribute on the page declaration) to execute and return fine with the html once it's done. What I'd like it to do is allow me to return immediately with a 'loading page' of some sort and then have that page be updated when the background work has been completed. Right now I get nothing on the page while the background work is being processed. Any ideas on the best way or clever way to do that would greatly be appreciated! Thanks, Sieg

• Timeout loading application on GAE using web2py

  I am uploading an app to GAE. Through some experimentation I've found that if I don't include wsgihandler.py, the app loads very slowly. It feels like it's looking for this file and them timing out. Besides the slow loading, everything works perfectly without wsgihandler.py, so I want to know if there is a simple way to remove the references to the file. I tried poking around the files, but it doesn't look like there are direct references. Also, I asked before what I need at a minimum to get an application to work, and I found that I need: web2py/app.yaml web2py/gaehandler.py web2py/VERSION web2py/gluon/* (and subfolders, this is web2py) web2py/applications/theoneappyouwanttodeploy/* (and subfolders)

So... i've got an image gallery with thumbs, and everything goes well.. except... when i click on the first image... it shows - ok, but i can go to the next image by clicking "next". It's loading all the time. When i choose second image... everything is allright, and i can skip to the next images... but i also cannot go back to the first one.

• Showing a loading page in a google chrome extension

  I have searched high and low for this but whatever i do this simply does not seem to work. I have a google chrome extension which send an XHR request using a background.js file. Now my requirement is that i need to show a small loading icon while the xhr request is proceeding. Are there any tutorials out there which explains how to do this. I have tried an iframe but it looks ugly when it expands as the entire popup.html expands. Is jquery my only option here because that would mean adding a lot of size to my current project just for a simple animation.

  I am running a basic iredmail install with amavis, postfix, dovecot. I want to use the declaimer feature to automatically append a disclaimer (in our case a signature). The reasoning for this is that clients (ipad, outlook, etc) don’t have to be configured with signature settings, and that we have corporate control over the actual signatures that are posted. Instead of: '[email protected]' => 'boss.domain.com.txt' I am trying to get to %mailbox + ‘@’ + %domain => %mailbox + “.” + %domain + ‘.txt’ This way we can simply use a script to generate the .txt / .htm signature files using just mysql / php. • Update a DNS to a for a dynamic IP

  I want to use my schools connection as a place to host a small webserver but one problem I have run into is anytime my server reboots I am given a new IP inside the schools range. All of the schools IP are public and therefor I can access my computer directly over WAN just via the IP given in ifconfig. I would like to be able to give my computer a dns which is easy enough when I change the Arecords to match the current IP of my computer. The problem is if my computer ever reboots (my school regularly cycles power at night and over holidays) I am assigned a new IP and have to realize it then update the Arecords This is inconvenient and I figure there must be a better way to keep the DNS records updated either via a script or my own BIND server. That way if there is a power cycle I can still access the server via a Domain Name. If you have any direction to point me in it would be much appreciated. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 if that helps :).
