  • Various way to send data to the web server

    Client Environment : Windows XP , Internet connection Available, PHP Not installed. Server Environment : CentOS , Internet connection Available, PHP , MYsql installed. Data are stored in files at client machine , suggest better ways to send data fetched from the file to the server. Normally i would be using HTTP request using Curl to send the data to the server but client machine doesnt have php installed. What all are the ways to send data to the server and the comparisons?

    I have a Perl script to open this page http://svejo.net/popular/all/new/ and filter the names of the posts but except headers everything seems encrypted. Nothing can be read. When I open the same page in a browser everything looks fine including the source code. How is it possible to encrypt a page for a script and not for a browser? My Perl script sends the same headers as my browser (Google Chrome).

  • Can I reuse my existing TCP-Server?

    At the moment I have an existing application which basically consists of a desktop GUI and a TCP server. The client connects to the server, and the server notifies the client if something interesting happens. Now I'm supposed to replace the desktop GUI by a web GUI, and I'm wondering if I have to rewrite the server to send http packets instead of tcp packets or if I can somehow use some sort of proxy to grab the tcp packets and forward them to the web client? Do I need some sort of comet server?

    Hi. I'm trying to use cURL to forward on a http request from a form in a web application I'm developing. Essentially I need to submit the same form twice on different servers, for the second server I'm adding some security measures to the post data. I can receive $_POST information on the second form perfectly fine, however I'm having major troubles with my $_FILES - I've tried separating the two so there's a separate request for post and files data but still no luck. Is this possible?

    Hey, I have some code which queries a web server using HTTP GET URLConnection connection = new URL("www.example.com" + "?blah=ok").openConnection(); connection.setRequestProperty("Accept-Charset", "UTF-8"); InputStream http_response = connection.getInputStream(); Now when I run this code while connected to WiFi I get the expected response but when I run this with WiFi disabled I instead seem to get the response of www.example.com without the appended query. Does anyone know why this is happening?

  • 301 redirects in .htaccess on apache

    I guess this should be straightforward but my host got me to switch server from zeus to apache following which the .htaccess file with existing individual 301 redirects failed to work causing an internal server error, so have commented them out for the time being. Could someone explain how to set these up to work in their new apache context? Have no apache experience Example redirect: Redirect 301 /pages/exhibitions/thegreatindoors.html http://www.klassnik.com/pages/thegreatindoors.html Read a lot about mod rewrites etc but not sure what to write.     I have two servlet: first servlet is similar to a client and creates an HttpURLConnection to call the second servlet. I would like send a special error, formatted like a JSON object, so I call sendError method in this way: response.sendError(code, "{json-object}") But in the first servlet when I read error with getResponseMessage method I just get standard HTTP message and not my json object as a string. How I can get my json string?
