• Control cell reference increment when dragging a forumula in Libre Office Calc (3.5)

  Using Libre Office Calc (3.5) and have a question. When copying a formula that references cells into multiple empty cells the default is to increment each cell reference by one column or row, depending on the direction that the formula is being drug. A formula '= 1 + A1' drug horizontally changes to '= 1 + B1' when pulled one cell to right and '=1 + A2' when pulled one cell down. Is there a way to control increase the increment of the referenced cell? Is is possible to have a formula '= 1 + A1' that effectively changes to '= 1 + A3' when drug down one cell, '= 1 + A5' when drug down two cells, etc? If it matters, I am trying to take a constantly updating master list of data that is organized by dates (Wednesdays and Saturdays) and create separate spread sheets for each day of the week that can be updated by only pulling down the formula into the next cell. My attempts at using the 'lookup' function, 'offset' function, and creating a sort column in Libre Office Calc are thwarted by my inability to figure out how to get around the single step increment when pulling a formula down into the next cell. • Google is still crawling and indexing my old, dummy, test pages which now are 404 not found

  I have set up my site with sample pages and data (lorem ipsum, etc..) and Google has crawled these pages. I deleted all these pages and actually added real content but in webmaster tools, i still get a lot of 404 errors Google trying to crawl these pages. I have set them to "mark as resolved" but some pages still come back as 404. Furthermore, I have a lot of these sample pages still listed when i do a search of my site on Google. How to remove them. I think these irrelevant pages are hurting my rating. I actually wanted to erase all these pages and start getting my site being being indexed as a new one but I read it's not possible? (I have submitted a sitemap and used "Fetch as Google.")

  Recently I have read interesting slides about game object design written by Marcin Chady Theory and Practice of the Game Object Component Architecture. I have prototyped quick sample that utilize all Attributes\Behaviour idea with some sample data. Now I have faced a little problem when I added a RenderingSystem to my prototype application. I have created an object with RenderBehaviour which listens for messages (OnMessage function) like MovedObject in order to mark them as invalid and in OnUpdate pass I am inserting a new renderable object to rederer queue. I have noticed that rendering updates should be the last thing made in single frame and this causes RenderBehaviour to depend on any other Behaviour that changes object position (i.ex. PhysicsSystem and PhysicsBehaviour). I am not even sure if I am doing this the way it should be. Do you have any clues that might put me on the right track?

  I have a dual boot system with 12.04 and windows 7. Ubuntu worked fine yesterday but this morning upon boot I get subject. Searched the forums and unsuccessful with recovery. • XNA - positioning after rotation

  I have a turret with a 2 gunbarrels. The turret rotates towards my mouse. So far no problem. When it creates a few bullets and positions them at the end of the gun barrels. Here is the problem. It only works the moment the gun is point upwards. The moment it rotates the end of the gun barrels have moved ofcourse, thus the bullets don't spawn at the end of the gun battels, but at the place the where the gun barrels are when the turret is pointing upwards. How can I check where the end of the gun barrels are the moment it rotates? Thanks in Advance, Mark Dijkema PS. • Rsyslog problem after ubuntu upgrade 10.4 to 12.4

  I was using Ubuntu 10.4 until last week for storing the log informations of a external device with rsyslog. After upgrading to ubuntu 12.4 the logging of TCP doesn't works anymore. (There are just no pakets visible - not even with tcpdump - aold ubuntu machine still sees the pakets.) UDP works with the identical configuration on the ubuntu machine and a "use UDP" on the external device. Are there any changes in rsyslog, that could explain this?   I'm trying to install opensync-plugin-synce to sync my wm6 phone with Evolution, but when I try (from synaptic, also with ap-get), is: Depende: opensync-module-python but it is not installable In fact, I haven't found opensync-module-python in repositories. Any hint? Is there any way to sync WM6 and Evolution (preferably without intermediate online syncs as Gmail, for instance)? Update: opensync-module-python exists in the repositories for previous versions of Ubuntu (mine is 10.10).... could I install it from there or would I ruin something? Update: should I mark this as impossible? Seems to be no way to sync WM6 phone with Evolution right now....

• How to troubleshoot GPU freezes?

  So in advance I'll just say I am a total linux newbie, so be kind. I just downloaded Ubuntu 11.10 and this is my first experience with Linux. I enjoy it so far and actually enjoy it except for when my computer freezes. This has been quite often so far. I've done a little research and it seems my problem is with the GPU. When it does freeze I can move the cursor but cannot click on anything. I also cannot run Alt+F2 xkill. So my only previous experience has been with Windows and I would normally solve an issue like this with Ctrl+Alt+Delete and just shut down the offending program. I do not know how to do this in Ubuntu and not even sure this would even work. Please help me if you can, how do I deal with a freeze without having to resort to a hard shutdown, I cannot seem to run the computer over one hour without experiencing this issue. I tried accessing my GRUB menu on startup but I can't even seem to do that. Also the only real program I have been running whenever this happens seems to be Firefox. Thank you, appreciate any help. • Excel: How do I copy hyperlink address from one column of text to another column with different text?

  I have a spreadsheet where column A displays names in a certain format. There are 200-odd names and each has a different hyperlink (which links to that person's web page). I want to reformat the name order so it is "Surname, Name" rather than "Name Surname" and retain the hyperlink in the newly formatted column. I have achieved "Surname, Name" easily by splitting the names into two columns (using LEFT and RIGHT formulae) - forename and surname - then I have a new column with a formula to return "Surname, Name." However, the hyperlinks are not in that new column and I need them. I don't want to do this manually, for obvious reasons. I cannot find a way of copying just hyperlinks from column A without copying the text from column A. So, effectively, what I need is some sort of macro to take, for example, the hyperlink from A2 and copy it to H2, with H2 still retaining the updated ordering of name. I don't have the knowledge to write this myself, so would appreciate solutions.

  There are answers out there to this question, but all of them have been under explianed so hence to difficult to coprehend and use them to my advantage. I want to do the seemingly simple (but not) task of Draging a Formula (Filling a series) across Column's while increasing the formula row number relativley. For Example to drag this formula: | =A1 | =A2 | =A3 Some other notes, Transposing by copy paste has proven too difficult for the amount of data. Offset and Indirect has been used by other people to do this but I don't get how they work at all so when I attempt to use them I don't know how to format it to my range. Here's a example photo Idealy we want the dragged section to continue on to fill the formula.

  I'm working on a internship project, but I have to leave before I can finish up everything. I have 1 class that is not stable enough for production use. I want to mark/flag this class so that other people will not accidentally use it in production. I have already put the notice in Javadoc, but that doesn't seem enough. Some compiler error or warning would be better. The code is organized like this: [Package] | company.foo.bar.myproject |-- Class1.java |-- Class2.java |-- Class3.java <--(not stable) If there was a single factory class that calls those classes in public methods, I could have set the method to class3 as private. However the API is NOT exposed that way. Users will directly use those class, e.g. new Class1();, but I can't make a top-level class private. What's the best practice to deal with this situation?

• Effective methods for managing work tasks? (documenting/remembering/prioritizing)

  I'm looking for suggestions on effective methods that I can use to document, remember and prioritize tasks at work. Many of the these tasks belong to a primary project, but they also exist for independent initiatives. The tasks themselves cover everything from development to documentation to discussions, with varying priorities, and deadlines ranging from right away to a few months from now. Historically I have used a notepad to keep track of these tasks, with a star next to an item indicating it needs to be done and a check mark when it's completed. However, as I gain more responsibilities and more things to manage: it becomes harder to make sure I've done everything (because some things get lost 5 pages back) it becomes harder to remember what's most important to do next it becomes harder to keep track of dependencies between tasks Has anyone found methods that have made their tasks easier to manage? I've considered adding some meta-data to keep track of what's most important and dependencies, or possibly switching to an app that could automate this (if such a thing exists). Something that's accessible anywhere would definitely be a plus.

  I have problem with nvidia graphics driver opensource and proprietary ! Can't change resolution on 3d games and there's a bug there are no kernel sources installed and thus jockey can't install proprietary drivers. I can't change resolution while on games fullscreen. I tried to install proprietary driver and i couldn't plus i couldn't login to ubuntu it showed only the desktop photo no dash no nothing. -tried to install kernel sources and blacklist+remove Nouveau drivers and then installed the proprietary drivers i hope succesfully. -The problem is the same i can't change resolution on 3d games while on fullscreen. Each time after a reboot I need to login to each VM via XenCenter and re-apply the required static IP settings. This causes issues with connected iSCSI drives within each VM - drives need to be reconnected after each reboot.
