  • Setting a form field's valule during validation

    Hi, I read about this issue already, but I'm having trouble understanding why I can't change the value of a form's field during validation. I have a form where a user can enter a decimal value. This value has to be higher than the initial value of the item the user is changing. During clean(), the value that was entered is checked against the item's previous value. I would like to be able to re-set the form field's value to the item's initial value when a user enters a lower value. Is this possible from within the clean() method, or am I forced to do this in the view? Somehow, it doesn't feel right to do this in the view... (To make matters more complicated, the form's fields are built up dynamically, meaning I have to override the form's clean() method instead of using the clean_() method). Thanks in advance!

  • Make array from $_POST values

    Let's start telling that I'm passing an x amount of variables via post from a form. Let's name them menu_category_1, menu_category_2, ..., menu_category_x, plus, maybe, menu_category_new (I'm using an if empty to check this last one variable). To make things easier I'm also sending the parameter $key (amount of variables starting from 0). Now I need to set them into a new variable $menu_category (array), which is going to be imploded and then update my database. How do I set up that new $menu_category variable to be an array containing all my variables named in the beginning? I was thinking of using a for loop but I can't come up with something useful.   • how do I disable options based on the previous selection?

    I have three drop-down menus for each sample shirt; product, colour and grade. Not all products are available in all colours and/or grades. I would like to disable the options that are not available based on the users selection. I've tried using this answer here (using a radio select). Unfortunately, I can't get it to work with an option-selected input. This is what I'm working on - quartus.ca/select-options.html Any guidance would be appreciated.

  • Is it possible to submit data into a SQL database, wait for that to finish, and then return the ID g

    I have an ASP form that needs to submit data to two different systems. First the data needs to go into an MS SQL database, which will get an ID. I then need to submit all that form data to an external system, along with that ID. Pretty much everything in the code works just fine, the data goes into the database, and the data will go to the external system. The problem is I am not getting my ID back from SQL when I execute that query. I am under the impression this is happening because of how fast everything occurs in the code. The database is adding it's row at the same time my post page runs it's query to get the ID back, I think. I need to know of a way to wait until SQL finished the insert or wait for a specific amount of time maybe. I already tried using the hacks to "sleep" with ASP, that did not help. I am sure I could accomplish this in .Net, my background is more .Net than ASP, but this is what I have to work with on my current project. Any ideas?

    Hi, I'm creating a used cars website (written in PHP), and I'm stuck on sending advanced search options from form. I have more than 30 of them and I wonder if it's possible, and how, to send them in one variable (for example &options=1,2,3,5,6,10 or some other way..). Also I've heard that this is possible with "bitwise" but I don't have a clue how to do that. Or if someone have a better idea, please let me know. Thanx

  • How to Use a Windows App with Embeded files and folders to copy to a destination. In C#

    I am trying to write a small application, whose only purpose is to copy some folders and .cs source files into a user specified Directory, I can do it easy enough by simply having the application look for the files and folders in its own install directory then copy them to thier destination Directory, but I was wondering if its possible to Embed the Folders and Files into the Application, so that when you run the application it creates or copies the folders and files from the exe app directly to the install directory, rather than searching for them in the apps install directory then copying them over. Basically Im trying to only have a single exe file rather than having an exe file and a bunch of folders and files along side it. Is this possible to do with just a Windows Form App without using an actual Installer Class?

    I have a problem that seems like there should be a simple solution but haven't found it yet. I have a pretty simple form that calls an action and passes it a FormCollection via HTTP Post. The form works perfectly until I introduce < or > into the field. Then I end up on a blank page having skipped the Action altogether. Need more information? Have any suggestions? Please help!

    I am using a security token for a form, the form is dynamically built depending on selection through jquery. So the form is called quite a lot and different tokens created every-time. So.. if the same user calls the form 3 times the session would be rewritten? Would it help at all to check if the token exists and not create one unless its empty? or perhaps someone knows of a good way to work with form tokens? If 3 users are on then the token is created 3 times with different values, right? If I check for the token and 3 users are on then the session is created 3 times with the same values?

    I am wondering if it is possible to to resubmit a form with a button click that calls up a javascript command. So this is basically what I'm trying to do - page 1: form; action = page2.php page 2: generate a randomized list according to parameters set by page 1 I would like to place a button on page 2 so that on click, it would be as if the user has hit F5, and a new list would be generated with the same parameters. I want to use L2E since it s very convenient to my company's apps, I created a demo project, the demo does run on every machine but when I, lets say, press a button that has some code that uses the entity I get this error: specified store provider cannot be found in the configuration, or is not valid. note that I get this error only on machines that does not have VS2008 installed, on these machines (the ones with VS2008) the demo works well. any advice is appreciated. A few notes: The server is not the domain controller Sharepoint 2013 is installed on this server The account I log in with and run the application with is a domain and enterprise admin I right click and run as administrator when I start the application So when I click continue on the error and go through the steps I get two possible scenarios that change from time to time at now predictable rate: 1) I just get an error, generic failure. 2) I get an error "Cannot start service MSOnlineSyncScheduler on computer '.'." Any help?

    We're evaluating using SharePoint 2010 as our project management tool. Specifically, the system needs to satisfy the following: Discussion groups Project management (simple issue tracking, no complex workflows or vcs integrations) News feed for the project(s) File sharing based on authorization/user-roles Custom homepage Custom forms using MS SQL Server as a backend and contents of old forms searchable from the user interface. Now, I think [1-5] is possible using SharePoint (Comments are always welcome :)). I'm not sure about [6]. Is it possible? For instance, can an admin or a user of the SharePoint portal, create a custom form (without any programming) that uses MS SQL Server as a backend and publish it to the portal so that other users can also perform data entry? If it can be done (be it with or without some programming), can users perform text search on form data using the SharePoint interface?

  • Can I bind multiple forms to a single model using the default model binder?

    I have a complex page with several forms on it. The page is divided into sections, and each section has a continue button on it. The page is bound to a pageViewModel, each section addresses a different set of properties on the model. The continue button makes an ajax call to the controller, and the model binder binds it appropriately to the appropriate sections of the model. The section is refreshed appropriately. Finally, I would like to have a save button at the bottom of the page that takes all the forms, and binds all of the forms to the model. The model, at this point has all of the properties filled out, and can be processed accordingly. Can I accomplish this by some ASP MVC magic?
