  • Can i create different observables and different corresponding observers in java?

    - by mithun1538
    Hello everyone, Currently, I have one observable and many observers. What i need is different observables, and depending on the observable, different observers. How do I achieve this? ( For understanding, assume I have different apples - say apple1 apple2... I have observer_1 observing apple1, observer_2 observing apple2, observer_3 observing apple 2 and so on..). I tried creating different objects of the Observable class, but since observers are observing the same class of observable, I don't know how to access a particular instance of the Observable. I have included the following servlet code that contains Observer and Observable classes: public class CustomerServlet extends HttpServlet { public String getNextMessage() { // Create a message sink to wait for a new message from the // message source. return new MessageSink().getNextMessage(source); } @Override protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { ObjectOutputStream dout = new ObjectOutputStream(response.getOutputStream()); String recMSG = getNextMessage(); dout.writeObject(recMSG); dout.flush(); } public void broadcastMessage(String message) { // Send the message to all the HTTP-connected clients by giving the // message to the message source source.sendMessage(message); } @Override protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { try { ObjectInputStream din= new ObjectInputStream(request.getInputStream()); String message = (String)din.readObject(); ObjectOutputStream dout = new ObjectOutputStream(response.getOutputStream()); dout.writeObject("1"); dout.flush(); if (message != null) { broadcastMessage(message); } // Set the status code to indicate there will be no response response.setStatus(response.SC_NO_CONTENT); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } @Override public String getServletInfo() { return "Short description"; }// </editor-fold> MessageSource source = new MessageSource(); } class MessageSource extends Observable { public void sendMessage(String message) { setChanged(); notifyObservers(message); } } class MessageSource extends Observable { public void sendMessage(String message) { setChanged(); notifyObservers(message); } } class MessageSink implements Observer { String message = null; // set by update() and read by getNextMessage() // Called by the message source when it gets a new message synchronized public void update(Observable o, Object arg) { // Get the new message message = (String)arg; // Wake up our waiting thread notify(); } // Gets the next message sent out from the message source synchronized public String getNextMessage(MessageSource source) { // Tell source we want to be told about new messages source.addObserver(this); // Wait until our update() method receives a message while (message == null) { try { wait(); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Exception has occured! ERR ERR ERR"); } } // Tell source to stop telling us about new messages source.deleteObserver(this); // Now return the message we received // But first set the message instance variable to null // so update() and getNextMessage() can be called again. String messageCopy = message; message = null; return messageCopy; } }

  • Path to background in servlet

    - by kapil chhattani
    //the below line is the element of my HTML form which renders the image sent by the servlet written further below. <img style="margin-left:91px; margin-top:-6px;" class="image" src="http://www.abcd.com/captchaServlet"> I generate a captcha code using the following code in java. public class captchaServlet extends HttpServlet { protected void processRequest(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { int width = 150; int height = 50; int charsToPrint = 6; String elegibleChars = "ABCDEFGHJKLMPQRSTUVWXYabcdefhjkmnpqrstuvwxy1234567890"; char[] chars = elegibleChars.toCharArray(); StringBuffer finalString = new StringBuffer(); for ( int i = 0; i < charsToPrint; i++ ) { double randomValue = Math.random(); int randomIndex = (int) Math.round(randomValue * (chars.length - 1)); char characterToShow = chars[randomIndex]; finalString.append(characterToShow); } System.out.println(finalString); BufferedImage bufferedImage = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB); Graphics2D g2d = bufferedImage.createGraphics(); Font font = new Font("Georgia", Font.BOLD, 18); g2d.setFont(font); RenderingHints rh = new RenderingHints( RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON); rh.put(RenderingHints.KEY_RENDERING, RenderingHints.VALUE_RENDER_QUALITY); g2d.setRenderingHints(rh); GradientPaint gp = new GradientPaint(0, 0, Color.BLUE, 0, height/2, Color.black, true); g2d.setPaint(gp); g2d.fillRect(0, 0, width, height); g2d.setColor(new Color(255, 255, 0)); Random r = new Random(); int index = Math.abs(r.nextInt()) % 5; char[] data=new String(finalString).toCharArray(); String captcha = String.copyValueOf(data); int x = 0; int y = 0; for (int i=0; i<data.length; i++) { x += 10 + (Math.abs(r.nextInt()) % 15); y = 20 + Math.abs(r.nextInt()) % 20; g2d.drawChars(data, i, 1, x, y); } g2d.dispose(); response.setContentType("image/png"); OutputStream os = response.getOutputStream(); ImageIO.write(bufferedImage, "png", os); os.close(); } protected void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { processRequest(request, response); } protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { processRequest(request, response); } } But in the above code background is also generated using the setPaint menthod I am guessing. I want the background to be some image from my local machine whoz URL i should be able to mention like URL url=this.getClass().getResource("Desktop/images.jpg"); BufferedImage bufferedImage = ImageIO.read(url); I am just writing the above two lines for making the reader understand better what the issue is. Dont want to use the exact same commands. All I want is the the background of the captcha code generated should be an image of my choice.

  • Socket php server not showing messages sent from android client

    - by Mj1992
    Hi I am a newbie in these kind of stuff but here's what i want to do. I am trying to implement a chat application in which users will send their queries from the website and as soon as the messages are sent by the website users.It will appear in the android mobile application of the site owner who will answer their queries .In short I wanna implement a live chat. Now right now I am just simply trying to send messages from android app to php server. But when I run my php script from dreamweaver in chrome the browser keeps on loading and doesn't shows any output when I send message from the client. Sometimes it happened that the php script showed some outputs which I have sent from the android(client).But i don't know when it works and when it does not. So I want to show those messages in the php script as soon as I send those messages from client and vice versa(did not implemented the vice versa for client but help will be appreciated). Here's what I've done till now. php script: <?php set_time_limit (0); $address = '127.0.0.1'; $port = 1234; $sock = socket_create(AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, 0); socket_bind($sock, $address, $port) or die('Could not bind to address'); socket_listen($sock); $client = socket_accept($sock); $welcome = "Roll up, roll up, to the greatest show on earth!\n? "; socket_write($client, $welcome,strlen($welcome)) or die("Could not send connect string\n"); do{ $input=socket_read($client,1024,1) or die("Could not read input\n"); echo "User Says: \n\t\t\t".$input; if (trim($input) != "") { echo "Received input: $input\n"; if(trim($input)=="END") { socket_close($spawn); break; } } else{ $output = strrev($input) . "\n"; socket_write($spawn, $output . "? ", strlen (($output)+2)) or die("Could not write output\n"); echo "Sent output: " . trim($output) . "\n"; } } while(true); socket_close($sock); echo "Socket Terminated"; ?> Android Code: public class ServerClientActivity extends Activity { private Button bt; private TextView tv; private Socket socket; private String serverIpAddress = "127.0.0.1"; private static final int REDIRECTED_SERVERPORT = 1234; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); bt = (Button) findViewById(R.id.myButton); tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.myTextView); try { InetAddress serverAddr = InetAddress.getByName(serverIpAddress); socket = new Socket(serverAddr, REDIRECTED_SERVERPORT); } catch (UnknownHostException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } bt.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { try { EditText et = (EditText) findViewById(R.id.EditText01); String str = et.getText().toString(); PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(socket.getOutputStream())),true); out.println(str); Log.d("Client", "Client sent message"); } catch (UnknownHostException e) { tv.setText(e.getMessage()); e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { tv.setText(e.getMessage()); e.printStackTrace(); } catch (Exception e) { tv.setText(e.getMessage()); e.printStackTrace(); } } }); } } I've just pasted the onclick button event code for Android.Edit text is the textbox where I am going to enter my text. The ip address and port are same as in php script.

  • When I try to redefine a variable, I get an index out of bounds error

    - by user2770254
    I'm building a program to act as a calculator with memory, so you can give variables and their values. Whenever I'm trying to redefine a variable, a = 5, to a = 6, I get an index out of bounds error. public static void main(String args[]) { LinkedHashMap<String,Integer> map = new LinkedHashMap<String,Integer>(); Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); ArrayList<Integer> values = new ArrayList<>(); ArrayList<String> variables = new ArrayList<>(); while(scan.hasNextLine()) { String line = scan.nextLine(); String[] tokens = line.split(" "); if(!Character.isDigit(tokens[0].charAt(0)) && !line.equals("clear") && !line.equals("var")) { int value = 0; for(int i=0; i<tokens.length; i++) { if(tokens.length==3) { value = Integer.parseInt(tokens[2]); System.out.printf("%5d\n",value); if(map.containsKey(tokens[0])) { values.set(values.indexOf(tokens[0]), value); variables.set(variables.indexOf(tokens[0]), tokens[0]); } else { values.add(value); } break; } else if(tokens[i].charAt(0) == '+') { value = addition(tokens, value); System.out.printf("%5d\n",value); variables.add(tokens[0]); if(map.containsKey(tokens[0])) { values.set(values.indexOf(tokens[0]), value); variables.set(variables.indexOf(tokens[0]), tokens[0]); } else { values.add(value); } break; } else if(i==tokens.length-1 && tokens.length != 3) { System.out.println("No operation"); break; } } map.put(tokens[0], value); } if(Character.isDigit(tokens[0].charAt(0))) { int value = 0; if(tokens.length==1) { System.out.printf("%5s\n", tokens[0]); } else { value = addition(tokens, value); System.out.printf("%5d\n", value); } } if(line.equals("clear")) { clear(map); } if(line.equals("var")) { variableList(variables, values); } } } public static int addition(String[] a, int b) { for(String item : a) { if(Character.isDigit(item.charAt(0))) { int add = Integer.parseInt(item); b = b + add; } } return b; } public static void clear(LinkedHashMap<String,Integer> b) { b.clear(); } public static void variableList(ArrayList<String> a, ArrayList<Integer> b) { for(int i=0; i<a.size(); i++) { System.out.printf("%5s: %d\n", a.get(i), b.get(i)); } } I included the whole code because I'm not sure where the error is arising from.

  • replaceAll() method using parameter from text file

    - by Herman Plani Ginting
    i have a collection of raw text in a table in database, i need to replace some words in this collection using a set of words. i put all the term to be replace and its substitutes in a text file as below min=admin lelet=lambat lemot=lambat nii=nih ntu=itu and so on. i have successfully initiate a variabel of File and Scanner to read the collection of the term and its substitutes. i loop all the dataset and save the raw text in a string in the same loop i loop all the term collection and save its row to a string name 'pattern', and split the pattern into two string named 'term' and 'replacer' in this loop i initiate a new string which its value is the string from the dataset modified by replaceAll(term,replacer) end loop for term collection then i insert the new string to another table in database end loop for dataset i do it manualy as below replaceAll("min","admin") and its works but its really something to code it manually for almost 2000 terms to be replace it. anyone ever face this kind of really something.. i really need a help now desperate :( package sentimenrepo; import javax.swing.*; import java.sql.*; import java.io.*; //import java.util.HashMap; import java.util.Scanner; //import java.util.Map; /** * * @author herman */ public class synonimReplaceV2 extends SwingWorker { protected Object doInBackground() throws Exception { new skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter().setVisible(true); Integer row = 0; File synonimV2 = new File("synV2/catatan_kata_sinonim.txt"); String newTweet = ""; DB db = new DB(); Connection conn = db.dbConnect("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/tweet", "root", ""); try{ Statement select = conn.createStatement(); select.executeQuery("select * from synonimtweet"); ResultSet RS = select.getResultSet(); Scanner scSynV2 = new Scanner(synonimV2); while(RS.next()){ row++; String no = RS.getString("no"); String tweet = " "+ RS.getString("tweet"); String published = RS.getString("published"); String label = RS.getString("label"); clean2 cleanv2 = new clean2(); newTweet = cleanv2.cleanTweet(tweet); try{ Statement insert = conn.createStatement(); insert.executeUpdate("INSERT INTO synonimtweet_v2(no,tweet,published,label) values('" +no+"','"+newTweet+"','"+published+"','"+label+"')"); String current = skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.txtAreaResult.getText(); skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.txtAreaResult.setText(current+"\n"+row+"original : "+tweet+"\n"+newTweet+"\n______________________\n"); skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.lblStat.setText(row+" tweet read"); skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.txtAreaResult.setCaretPosition(skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.txtAreaResult.getText().length() - 1); }catch(Exception e){ skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.lblStat.setText(e.getMessage()); } skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.lblStat.setText(e.getMessage()); } }catch(Exception e){ skripsisentimen.sentimenttwitter.lblStat.setText(e.getMessage()); } return row; } class clean2{ public clean2(){} public String cleanTweet(String tweet){ File synonimV2 = new File("synV2/catatan_kata_sinonim.txt"); String pattern = ""; String term = ""; String replacer = ""; String newTweet=""; try{ Scanner scSynV2 = new Scanner(synonimV2); while(scSynV2.hasNext()){ pattern = scSynV2.next(); term = pattern.split("=")[0]; replacer = pattern.split("=")[1]; newTweet = tweet.replace(term, replacer); } }catch(Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); } System.out.println(newTweet+"\n"+tweet); return newTweet; } } }

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException when using retreived Image (Unless method is used statically!)

    - by Emdiesse
    Hi there, This has been doing my head in all day and I have finally decided to resort to asking for help! In my MIDLet I have an instance of the java class ImageFetcher called anImg. Also within my MIDLet I have a command that simply say's fetch, a CommandListener that when detects fetch was clicked runs the function below. This function should simply run public getImage() from the anImg instance of class ImageFetcher which returns an image and then appends/sets this Image onto the form on the display. (You may recognise the getImage() function from the Nokia JavaME Wiki!!!) Instead of any image being displayed this is written to the output terminal in netbeans: Msg: Java.lang.NullPointerException HOWEVER, If I change public getImage() to public static getImage() and replace anImg.getImage() with ImageFetcher.getImage() the image is successfully displayed!!! Thank you for your replies on this issue :) I look forward to going my hair back after this ordeal! FetchImageApp.java ... ... ... private doThis(){ try { Image im; if ((im = anImg.getImage()) != null) { ImageItem ii = new ImageItem(null, im, ImageItem.LAYOUT_DEFAULT, null); // If there is already an image, set (replace) it if (form.size() != 0) { form.set(0, ii); } else // Append the image to the empty form { form.append(ii); } } else { form.append("Unsuccessful download."); } // Display the form with the image display.setCurrent(form); } catch (Exception e) { System.err.println("Msg: " + e.toString()); } } ... ... ... ImageFetcher.java ... ... ... /*-------------------------------------------------- * Open connection and download png into a byte array. *-------------------------------------------------*/ public Image getImage() throws IOException { String url = "http://kenai.com/attachments/wiki_images/chessgame/java-duke-logo.png"; ContentConnection connection = (ContentConnection) Connector.open(url); // * There is a bug in MIDP 1.0.3 in which read() sometimes returns // an invalid length. To work around this, I have changed the // stream to DataInputStream and called readFully() instead of read() // InputStream iStrm = connection.openInputStream(); DataInputStream iStrm = connection.openDataInputStream(); ByteArrayOutputStream bStrm = null; Image im = null; try { // ContentConnection includes a length method byte imageData[]; int length = (int) connection.getLength(); if (length != -1) { imageData = new byte[length]; // Read the png into an array // iStrm.read(imageData); iStrm.readFully(imageData); } else // Length not available... { bStrm = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); int ch; while ((ch = iStrm.read()) != -1) { bStrm.write(ch); } imageData = bStrm.toByteArray(); bStrm.close(); } // Create the image from the byte array im = Image.createImage(imageData, 0, imageData.length); } finally { // Clean up if (iStrm != null) { iStrm.close(); } if (connection != null) { connection.close(); } if (bStrm != null) { bStrm.close(); } } return (im == null ? null : im); } ... ... ...

  • Java JNI leak in c++ process.

    - by user662056
    Hi all.. I am beginner in Java. My problem is: I am calling a Java class's method from c++. For this i am using JNI. Everythings works correct, but i have some memory LEAKS in the process of c++ program... So.. i did simple example.. 1) I create a java machine (jint res = JNI_CreateJavaVM(&jvm, (void**)&env, &vm_args);) 2) then i take a pointer on java class (jclass cls = env-FindClass("test_jni")); 3) after that i create a java class object object, by calling the constructor (testJavaObject = env-NewObject(cls, testConstruct);) AT THIS very moment in the process of c++ program is allocated 10 MB of memory 4) Next i delete the class , the object, and the Java Machine .. AT THIS very moment the 10 MB of memory are not free ................. So below i have a few lines of code c++ program void main() { { //Env JNIEnv *env; // java virtual machine JavaVM *jvm; JavaVMOption* options = new JavaVMOption[1]; //class paths options[0].optionString = "-Djava.class.path=C:/Sun/SDK/jdk/lib;D:/jms_test/java_jni_leak;"; // other options JavaVMInitArgs vm_args; vm_args.version = JNI_VERSION_1_6; vm_args.options = options; vm_args.nOptions = 1; vm_args.ignoreUnrecognized = false; // alloc part of memory (for test) before CreateJavaVM char* testMem0 = new char[1000]; for(int i = 0; i < 1000; ++i) testMem0[i] = 'a'; // create java VM jint res = JNI_CreateJavaVM(&jvm, (void**)&env, &vm_args); // alloc part of memory (for test) after CreateJavaVM char* testMem1 = new char[1000]; for(int i = 0; i < 1000; ++i) testMem1[i] = 'b'; //Creating java virtual machine jclass cls = env->FindClass("test_jni"); // Id of a class constructor jmethodID testConstruct = env->GetMethodID(cls, "<init>", "()V"); // The Java Object // Calling the constructor, is allocated 10 MB of memory in c++ process jobject testJavaObject = env->NewObject(cls, testConstruct); // function DeleteLocalRef, // In this very moment memory not free env->DeleteLocalRef(testJavaObject); env->DeleteLocalRef(cls); // 1!!!!!!!!!!!!! res = jvm->DestroyJavaVM(); delete[] testMem0; delete[] testMem1; // In this very moment memory not free. TO /// } int gg = 0; } java class (it just allocs some memory) import java.util.*; public class test_jni { ArrayList<String> testStringList; test_jni() { System.out.println("start constructor"); testStringList = new ArrayList<String>(); for(int i = 0; i < 1000000; ++i) { // ??????? ?????? testStringList.add("TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEST"); } } } process memory view, after crating javaVM and java object: testMem0 and testMem1 - test memory, that's allocated by c++. ************** testMem0 ************** JNI_CreateJavaVM ************** testMem1 ************** // create java object jobject testJavaObject = env->NewObject(cls, testConstruct); ************** process memory view, after destroy javaVM and delete ref on java object: testMem0 and testMem1 are deleted to; ************** JNI_CreateJavaVM ************** // create java object jobject testJavaObject = env->NewObject(cls, testConstruct); ************** So testMem0 and testMem1 is deleted, But JavaVM and Java object not.... Sow what i do wrong... and how i can free memory in the c++ process program.

  • Why does my program not read full files?

    - by user593395
    I have written code in Java to read the content of a file. But it is working for small line of file only not for more than 1000 line of file. Please tell me me what error I have made in the below program. program: import java.io.DataInputStream; import java.io.DataOutputStream; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileInputStream; import java.io.FileNotFoundException; import java.io.FileOutputStream; import java.util.regex.Matcher; import java.util.regex.Pattern; public class aaru { public static void main(String args[]) throws FileNotFoundException { File sourceFile = new File("E:\\parser\\parse3.txt"); File destinationFile = new File("E:\\parser\\new.txt"); FileInputStream fileIn = new FileInputStream(sourceFile); FileOutputStream fileOut = new FileOutputStream(destinationFile); DataInputStream dataIn = new DataInputStream(fileIn); DataOutputStream dataOut = new DataOutputStream(fileOut); String str=""; String[] st; String sub[]=null; String word=""; String contents=""; String total=""; String stri="";; try { while((contents=dataIn.readLine())!=null) { total = contents.replaceAll(",",""); String str1=total.replaceAll("--",""); String str2=str1.replaceAll(";","" ); String str3=str2.replaceAll("&","" ); String str4=str3.replaceAll("^","" ); String str5=str4.replaceAll("#","" ); String str6=str5.replaceAll("!","" ); String str7=str6.replaceAll("/","" ); String str8=str7.replaceAll(":","" ); String str9=str8.replaceAll("]","" ); String str10=str9.replaceAll("\\?",""); String str11=str10.replaceAll("\\*",""); String str12=str11.replaceAll("\\'",""); Pattern pattern = Pattern.compile("\\s+", Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE | Pattern.DOTALL | Pattern.MULTILINE); Matcher matcher = pattern.matcher(str12); //boolean check = matcher.find(); String result=str12; Pattern p=Pattern.compile("^www\\.|\\@"); Matcher m=p.matcher(result); stri = m.replaceAll(" "); int i; int j; st=stri.split("\\."); for(i=0;i<st.length;i++) { st[i]=st[i].trim(); /*if(st[i].startsWith(" ")) st[i]=st[i].substring(1,st[i].length);*/ sub=st[i].split(" "); if(sub.length>1) { for(j=0;j<sub.length-1;j++) { word = word+sub[j]+","+sub[j+1]+"\r\n"; } } else { word = word+st[i]+"\r\n"; } } } System.out.println(word); dataOut.writeBytes(word+"\r\n"); fileIn.close(); fileOut.close(); dataIn.close(); dataOut.close(); } catch(Exception e) { System.out.print(e); } } }

  • How is it possible my array is broken?

    - by user1812765
    I have this piece of code: public lot merge (lot otherlot){ wafer[] mWaferarray = new wafer[16]; byte[] bytearray = new byte[16]; wafer resultwafer = new wafer(bytearray); wafer w1; wafer w2; int i; int[][] assignmentmatrix = HungarianAlgorithm.computeAssignments(convertinttofloat (solutionmatrix(otherlot))); for (i=0; i != assignmentmatrix.length ;i++){ w1 = otherlot.getWaferarray()[assignmentmatrix[i][0]]; w2 = getWaferarray()[assignmentmatrix[i][1]]; resultwafer.setWafer(w1.wafercompare(w2)); mWaferarray[i] = resultwafer; mWaferarray[i].print(); } System.out.println("HERE\n"); mWaferarray[5].toString(); resultlot = new lot(mWaferarray); resultlot.print();// Problem occurs here. return resultlot; } As you can see I create an array of wafers (selfdefined class). Then I fill this up with new wafers. When I print this array (mWaferarray[i].print()) it gives me the wanted results. But when I go out of the "for"-loop the array is broken and it is as if the last item I add to mWaferarray fills it up (the entire array, 16 long, is filled with this wafer). So if run this program this is what I get: 1011110010111100 0011011111111110 0111110111101101 1010111001101111 0110110111101111 1010110101111010 1010110111011110 1011111010111100 1111110011101110 0111111111011011 1111111111011010 1101111011111010 1010110101011110 0101111011011010 1011111011011000 0101111011011010 HERE 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 0101111011011010 As you can see it is as if the array is filled with the last wafer. I have been looking at this for some time now, I hope you guy can help me out. Thx in advance PS: my print functions are written like this: void print(){ int j; for (j=0; j != waferarray.length ;j++){ waferarray[j].print(); } } EDIT: added code for lot this is the beginning of the lot class public class lot { wafer[] waferarray = new wafer[16]; lot resultlot; public lot (wafer wafer1,wafer wafer2,wafer wafer3,wafer wafer4, wafer wafer5,wafer wafer6,wafer wafer7,wafer wafer8, wafer wafer9,wafer wafer10,wafer wafer11,wafer wafer12, wafer wafer13,wafer wafer14,wafer wafer15,wafer wafer16){ waferarray[0] = wafer1; waferarray[1] = wafer2; waferarray[2] = wafer3; waferarray[3] = wafer4; waferarray[4] = wafer5; waferarray[5] = wafer6; waferarray[6] = wafer7; waferarray[7] = wafer8; waferarray[8] = wafer9; waferarray[9] = wafer10; waferarray[10] = wafer11; waferarray[11] = wafer12; waferarray[12] = wafer13; waferarray[13] = wafer14; waferarray[14] = wafer15; waferarray[15] = wafer16; } public lot (wafer[] thiswaferarray){ waferarray = thiswaferarray; }

  • Java Logger API

    - by Koppar
    This is a more like a tip rather than technical write up and serves as a quick intro for newbies. The logger API helps to diagnose application level or JDK level issues at runtime. There are 7 levels which decide the detailing in logging (SEVERE, WARNING, INFO, CONFIG, FINE, FINER, FINEST). Its best to start with highest level and as we narrow down, use more detailed logging for a specific area. SEVERE is the highest and FINEST is the lowest. This may not make sense until we understand some jargon. The Logger class provides the ability to stream messages to an output stream in a format that can be controlled by the user. What this translates to is, I can create a logger with this simple invocation and use it add debug messages in my class: import java.util.logging.*; private static final Logger focusLog = Logger.getLogger("java.awt.focus.KeyboardFocusManager"); if (focusLog.isLoggable(Level.FINEST)) { focusLog.log(Level.FINEST, "Calling peer setCurrentFocusOwner}); LogManager acts like a book keeper and all the getLogger calls are forwarded to LogManager. The LogManager itself is a singleton class object which gets statically initialized on JVM start up. More on this later. If there is no existing logger with the given name, a new one is created. If there is one (and not yet GC’ed), then the existing Logger object is returned. By default, a root logger is created on JVM start up. All anonymous loggers are made as the children of the root logger. Named loggers have the hierarchy as per their name resolutions. Eg: java.awt.focus is the parent logger for java.awt.focus.KeyboardFocusManager etc. Before logging any message, the logger checks for the log level specified. If null is specified, the log level of the parent logger will be set. However, if the log level is off, no log messages would be written, irrespective of the parent’s log level. All the messages that are posted to the Logger are handled as a LogRecord object.i.e. FocusLog.log would create a new LogRecord object with the log level and message as its data members). The level of logging and thread number are also tracked. LogRecord is passed on to all the registered Handlers. Handler is basically a means to output the messages. The output may be redirected to either a log file or console or a network logging service. The Handler classes use the LogManager properties to set filters and formatters. During initialization or JVM start up, LogManager looks for logging.properties file in jre/lib and sets the properties if the file is provided. An alternate location for properties file can also be specified by setting java.util.logging.config.file system property. This can be set in Java Control Panel ? Java ? Runtime parameters as -Djava.util.logging.config.file = <mylogfile> or passed as a command line parameter java -Djava.util.logging.config.file = C:/Sunita/myLog The redirection of logging depends on what is specified rather registered as a handler with JVM in the properties file. java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler sends the output to system.err and java.util.logging.FileHandler sends the output to file. File name of the log file can also be specified. If you prefer XML format output, in the configuration file, set java.util.logging.FileHandler.formatter = java.util.logging.XMLFormatter and if you prefer simple text, set set java.util.logging.FileHandler.formatter =java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter Below is the default logging Configuration file: ############################################################ # Default Logging Configuration File # You can use a different file by specifying a filename # with the java.util.logging.config.file system property. # For example java -Djava.util.logging.config.file=myfile ############################################################ ############################################################ # Global properties ############################################################ # "handlers" specifies a comma separated list of log Handler # classes. These handlers will be installed during VM startup. # Note that these classes must be on the system classpath. # By default we only configure a ConsoleHandler, which will only # show messages at the INFO and above levels. handlers= java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler # To also add the FileHandler, use the following line instead. #handlers= java.util.logging.FileHandler, java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler # Default global logging level. # This specifies which kinds of events are logged across # all loggers. For any given facility this global level # can be overriden by a facility specific level # Note that the ConsoleHandler also has a separate level # setting to limit messages printed to the console. .level= INFO ############################################################ # Handler specific properties. # Describes specific configuration info for Handlers. ############################################################ # default file output is in user's home directory. java.util.logging.FileHandler.pattern = %h/java%u.log java.util.logging.FileHandler.limit = 50000 java.util.logging.FileHandler.count = 1 java.util.logging.FileHandler.formatter = java.util.logging.XMLFormatter # Limit the message that are printed on the console to INFO and above. java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = INFO java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.formatter = java.util.logging.SimpleFormatter ############################################################ # Facility specific properties. # Provides extra control for each logger. ############################################################ # For example, set the com.xyz.foo logger to only log SEVERE # messages: com.xyz.foo.level = SEVERE Since I primarily use this method to track focus issues, here is how I get detailed awt focus related logging. Just set the logger name to java.awt.focus.level=FINEST and change the default log level to FINEST. Below is a basic sample program. The sample programs are from http://www2.cs.uic.edu/~sloan/CLASSES/java/ and have been modified to illustrate the logging API. By changing the .level property in the logging.properties file, one can control the output written to the logs. To play around with the example, try changing the levels in the logging.properties file and notice the difference in messages going to the log file. • TOTD #166: Using NoSQL database in your Java EE 6 Applications on GlassFish - MongoDB for now!

    - by arungupta
    The Java EE 6 platform includes Java Persistence API to work with RDBMS. The JPA specification defines a comprehensive API that includes, but not restricted to, how a database table can be mapped to a POJO and vice versa, provides mechanisms how a PersistenceContext can be injected in a @Stateless bean and then be used for performing different operations on the database table and write typesafe queries. There are several well known advantages of RDBMS but the NoSQL movement has gained traction over past couple of years. The NoSQL databases are not intended to be a replacement for the mainstream RDBMS. As Philosophy of NoSQL explains, NoSQL database was designed for casual use where all the features typically provided by an RDBMS are not required. The name "NoSQL" is more of a category of databases that is more known for what it is not rather than what it is. The basic principles of NoSQL database are: No need to have a pre-defined schema and that makes them a schema-less database. Addition of new properties to existing objects is easy and does not require ALTER TABLE. The unstructured data gives flexibility to change the format of data any time without downtime or reduced service levels. Also there are no joins happening on the server because there is no structure and thus no relation between them. Scalability and performance is more important than the entire set of functionality typically provided by an RDBMS. This set of databases provide eventual consistency and/or transactions restricted to single items but more focus on CRUD. Not be restricted to SQL to access the information stored in the backing database. Designed to scale-out (horizontal) instead of scale-up (vertical). This is important knowing that databases, and everything else as well, is moving into the cloud. RBDMS can scale-out using sharding but requires complex management and not for the faint of heart. Unlike RBDMS which require a separate caching tier, most of the NoSQL databases comes with integrated caching. Designed for less management and simpler data models lead to lower administration as well. There are primarily three types of NoSQL databases: Key-Value stores (e.g. Cassandra and Riak) Document databases (MongoDB or CouchDB) Graph databases (Neo4J) You may think NoSQL is panacea but as I mentioned above they are not meant to replace the mainstream databases and here is why: RDBMS have been around for many years, very stable, and functionally rich. This is something CIOs and CTOs can bet their money on without much worry. There is a reason 98% of Fortune 100 companies run Oracle :-) NoSQL is cutting edge, brings excitement to developers, but enterprises are cautious about them. Commercial databases like Oracle are well supported by the backing enterprises in terms of providing support resources on a global scale. There is a full ecosystem built around these commercial databases providing training, performance tuning, architecture guidance, and everything else. NoSQL is fairly new and typically backed by a single company not able to meet the scale of these big enterprises. NoSQL databases are good for CRUDing operations but business intelligence is extremely important for enterprises to stay competitive. RDBMS provide extensive tooling to generate this data but that was not the original intention of NoSQL databases and is lacking in that area. Generating any meaningful information other than CRUDing require extensive programming. Not suited for complex transactions such as banking systems or other highly transactional applications requiring 2-phase commit. SQL cannot be used with NoSQL databases and writing simple queries can be involving. Enough talking, lets take a look at some code. This blog has published multiple blogs on how to access a RDBMS using JPA in a Java EE 6 application. This Tip Of The Day (TOTD) will show you can use MongoDB (a document-oriented database) with a typical 3-tier Java EE 6 application. Lets get started! The complete source code of this project can be downloaded here. Download MongoDB for your platform from here (1.8.2 as of this writing) and start the server as: arun@ArunUbuntu:~/tools/mongodb-linux-x86_64-1.8.2/bin$./mongod./mongod --help for help and startup optionsSun Jun 26 20:41:11 [initandlisten] MongoDB starting : pid=11210port=27017 dbpath=/data/db/ 64-bit Sun Jun 26 20:41:11 [initandlisten] db version v1.8.2, pdfile version4.5Sun Jun 26 20:41:11 [initandlisten] git version:433bbaa14aaba6860da15bd4de8edf600f56501bSun Jun 26 20:41:11 [initandlisten] build sys info: Linuxbs-linux64.10gen.cc 2.6.21.7-2.ec2.v1.2.fc8xen #1 SMP Fri Nov 2017:48:28 EST 2009 x86_64 BOOST_LIB_VERSION=1_41Sun Jun 26 20:41:11 [initandlisten] waiting for connections on port 27017Sun Jun 26 20:41:11 [websvr] web admin interface listening on port 28017 The default directory for the database is /data/db and needs to be created as: sudo mkdir -p /data/db/sudo chown `id -u` /data/db You can specify a different directory using "--dbpath" option. Refer to Quickstart for your specific platform. Using NetBeans, create a Java EE 6 project and make sure to enable CDI and add JavaServer Faces framework. Download MongoDB Java Driver (2.6.3 of this writing) and add it to the project library by selecting "Properties", "LIbraries", "Add Library...", creating a new library by specifying the location of the JAR file, and adding the library to the created project. Edit the generated "index.xhtml" such that it looks like: <h1>Add a new movie</h1><h:form> Name: <h:inputText value="#{movie.name}" size="20"/><br/> Year: <h:inputText value="#{movie.year}" size="6"/><br/> Language: <h:inputText value="#{movie.language}" size="20"/><br/> <h:commandButton actionListener="#{movieSessionBean.createMovie}" action="show" title="Add" value="submit"/></h:form> This page has a simple HTML form with three text boxes and a submit button. The text boxes take name, year, and language of a movie and the submit button invokes the "createMovie" method of "movieSessionBean" and then render "show.xhtml". Create "show.xhtml" ("New" -> "Other..." -> "Other" -> "XHTML File") such that it looks like: <head> <title><h1>List of movies</h1></title> </head> <body> <h:form> <h:dataTable value="#{movieSessionBean.movies}" var="m" > <h:column><f:facet name="header">Name</f:facet>#{m.name}</h:column> <h:column><f:facet name="header">Year</f:facet>#{m.year}</h:column> <h:column><f:facet name="header">Language</f:facet>#{m.language}</h:column> </h:dataTable> </h:form> This page shows the name, year, and language of all movies stored in the database so far. The list of movies is returned by "movieSessionBean.movies" property. Now create the "Movie" class such that it looks like: import com.mongodb.BasicDBObject;import com.mongodb.BasicDBObject;import com.mongodb.DBObject;import javax.enterprise.inject.Model;import javax.validation.constraints.Size;/** * @author arun */@Modelpublic class Movie { @Size(min=1, max=20) private String name; @Size(min=1, max=20) private String language; private int year; // getters and setters for "name", "year", "language" public BasicDBObject toDBObject() { BasicDBObject doc = new BasicDBObject(); doc.put("name", name); doc.put("year", year); doc.put("language", language); return doc; } public static Movie fromDBObject(DBObject doc) { Movie m = new Movie(); m.name = (String)doc.get("name"); m.year = (int)doc.get("year"); m.language = (String)doc.get("language"); return m; } @Override public String toString() { return name + ", " + year + ", " + language; }} Other than the usual boilerplate code, the key methods here are "toDBObject" and "fromDBObject". These methods provide a conversion from "Movie" -> "DBObject" and vice versa. The "DBObject" is a MongoDB class that comes as part of the mongo-2.6.3.jar file and which we added to our project earlier.  The complete javadoc for 2.6.3 can be seen here. Notice, this class also uses Bean Validation constraints and will be honored by the JSF layer. Finally, create "MovieSessionBean" stateless EJB with all the business logic such that it looks like: package org.glassfish.samples;import com.mongodb.BasicDBObject;import com.mongodb.DB;import com.mongodb.DBCollection;import com.mongodb.DBCursor;import com.mongodb.DBObject;import com.mongodb.Mongo;import java.net.UnknownHostException;import java.util.ArrayList;import java.util.List;import javax.annotation.PostConstruct;import javax.ejb.Stateless;import javax.inject.Inject;import javax.inject.Named;/** * @author arun */@Stateless@Namedpublic class MovieSessionBean { @Inject Movie movie; DBCollection movieColl; @PostConstruct private void initDB() throws UnknownHostException { Mongo m = new Mongo(); DB db = m.getDB("movieDB"); movieColl = db.getCollection("movies"); if (movieColl == null) { movieColl = db.createCollection("movies", null); } } public void createMovie() { BasicDBObject doc = movie.toDBObject(); movieColl.insert(doc); } public List<Movie> getMovies() { List<Movie> movies = new ArrayList(); DBCursor cur = movieColl.find(); System.out.println("getMovies: Found " + cur.size() + " movie(s)"); for (DBObject dbo : cur.toArray()) { movies.add(Movie.fromDBObject(dbo)); } return movies; }} The database is initialized in @PostConstruct. You might see in some websites that we can break this restriction using reflection and delegates, but we can’t, according to my little research J I shall try to explain you…   Following is code sample to break this rule using reflection, it seems that it is possible to call a static method using an object, p1 using System; namespace T {     class Program     {         static void Main()         {             var p1 = new Person() { Name = "Smith" };             typeof(Person).GetMethod("TestStatMethod").Invoke(p1, new object[] { });                     }         class Person         {             public string Name { get; set; }             public static void TestStatMethod()             {                 Console.WriteLine("Hello");             }         }     } } but I do not think so this method is being called using p1 rather Type Name “Person”. I shall try to prove this… look at another example…  Test2 has been inherited from Test1. Let’s see various scenarios… Scenario1 using System; namespace T {     class Program     {         static void Main()         {             Test1 t = new Test1();            typeof(Test2).GetMethod("Method1").Invoke(t,                                  new object[] { });         }     }     class Test1     {         public static void Method1()         {             Console.WriteLine("At test1::Method1");         }     }       class Test2 : Test1     {         public static void Method1()         {             Console.WriteLine("At test1::Method2");         }     } } Output:   At test1::Method2 Scenario2         static void Main()         {             Test2 t = new Test2();            typeof(Test2).GetMethod("Method1").Invoke(t,                                          new object[] { });         }   Output:   At test1::Method2   Scenario3         static void Main()         {             Test1 t = new Test2();            typeof(Test2).GetMethod("Method1").Invoke(t,                             new object[] { });         }   Output: At test1::Method2 In all above scenarios output is same, that means, Reflection also not considering the object what you pass to Invoke method in case of static methods. It is always considering the type which you specify in typeof(). So, what is the use passing instance to “Invoke”. Let see below sample using System; namespace T {     class Program     {         static void Main()         {            typeof(Test2).GetMethod("Method1").                Invoke(null, new object[] { });         }     }       class Test1     {         public static void Method1()         {             Console.WriteLine("At test1::Method1");         }     }     class Test2 : Test1     {         public static void Method1()         {             Console.WriteLine("At test1::Method2");         }     } }   Output is   At test1::Method2   I was able to call Invoke “Method1” of Test2 without any object.  Yes, there no wonder here as Method1 is static. So we may conclude that static methods cannot be called using instances (only in c#) Why Microsoft has restricted it in C#? Ans: Really there Is no use calling static methods using objects because static methods are stateless. but still Java and C++ latest compilers allow calling static methods using instances. Java sample class Test {      public static void main(String str[])      {            Person p = new Person();            System.out.println(p.GetCount());      } }   class Person {   public static int GetCount()   {      return 100;   } }   Output          100 span.fullpost {display:none;}

  • PostgreSQL, Ubuntu, NetBeans IDE (Part 3)

    - by Geertjan
    To complete the picture, let's use the traditional (that is, old) Hibernate mechanism, i.e., via XML files, rather than via the annotations shown yesterday. It's definitely trickier, with many more places where typos can occur, but that's why it's the old mechanism. I do not recommend this approach. I recommend the approach shown yesterday. The other players in this scenario include PostgreSQL, as outlined in the previous blog entries in this series. Here's the structure of the module, replacing the code shown yesterday: Here's the Employee class, notice that it has no annotations: import java.io.Serializable; import java.util.Date; public class Employees implements Serializable {         private int employeeId;     private String firstName;     private String lastName;     private Date dateOfBirth;     private String phoneNumber;     private String junk;     public int getEmployeeId() {         return employeeId;     }     public void setEmployeeId(int employeeId) {         this.employeeId = employeeId;     }     public String getFirstName() {         return firstName;     }     public void setFirstName(String firstName) {         this.firstName = firstName;     }     public String getLastName() {         return lastName;     }     public void setLastName(String lastName) {         this.lastName = lastName;     }     public Date getDateOfBirth() {         return dateOfBirth;     }     public void setDateOfBirth(Date dateOfBirth) {         this.dateOfBirth = dateOfBirth;     }     public String getPhoneNumber() {         return phoneNumber;     }     public void setPhoneNumber(String phoneNumber) {         this.phoneNumber = phoneNumber;     }     public String getJunk() {         return junk;     }     public void setJunk(String junk) {         this.junk = junk;     } } And here's the Hibernate configuration file: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-configuration PUBLIC       "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Configuration DTD 3.0//EN"     "http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-configuration-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-configuration>     <session-factory>         <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class">org.postgresql.Driver</property>         <property name="hibernate.connection.url">jdbc:postgresql://localhost:5432/smithdb</property>         <property name="hibernate.connection.username">smith</property>         <property name="hibernate.connection.password">smith</property>         <property name="hibernate.connection.pool_size">1</property>         <property name="hibernate.default_schema">public"</property>         <property name="hibernate.transaction.factory_class">org.hibernate.transaction.JDBCTransactionFactory</property>         <property name="hibernate.current_session_context_class">thread</property>         <property name="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect</property>         <property name="hibernate.show_sql">true</property>         <mapping resource="org/db/viewer/employees.hbm.xml"/>     </session-factory> </hibernate-configuration> Next, the Hibernate mapping file: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mapping PUBLIC       "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Mapping DTD 3.0//EN"       "http://hibernate.sourceforge.net/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-mapping>     <class name="org.db.viewer.Employees"            table="employees"            schema="public"            catalog="smithdb">         <id name="employeeId" column="employee_id" type="int">             <generator class="increment"/>         </id>         <property name="firstName" column="first_name" type="string" />         <property name="lastName" column="last_name" type="string" />         <property name="dateOfBirth" column="date_of_birth" type="date" />         <property name="phoneNumber" column="phone_number" type="string" />         <property name="junk" column="junk" type="string" />             </class>     </hibernate-mapping> Then, the HibernateUtil file, for providing access to the Hibernate SessionFactory: import java.net.URL; import org.hibernate.cfg.AnnotationConfiguration; import org.hibernate.SessionFactory; public class HibernateUtil {     private static final SessionFactory sessionFactory;         static {         try {             // Create the SessionFactory from standard (hibernate.cfg.xml)             // config file.             String res = "org/db/viewer/employees.cfg.xml";             URL myURL = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResource(res);             sessionFactory = new AnnotationConfiguration().configure(myURL).buildSessionFactory();         } catch (Throwable ex) {             // Log the exception.             System.err.println("Initial SessionFactory creation failed." + ex);             throw new ExceptionInInitializerError(ex);         }     }         public static SessionFactory getSessionFactory() {         return sessionFactory;     }     } Finally, the "createKeys" in the ChildFactory: @Override protected boolean createKeys(List list) {     Session session = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().getCurrentSession();     Transaction transac = null;     try {         transac = session.beginTransaction();         Query query = session.createQuery("from Employees");         list.addAll(query.list());     } catch (HibernateException he) {         Exceptions.printStackTrace(he);         if (transac != null){             transac.rollback();         }     } finally {         session.close();     }     return true; } Note that Constantine Drabo has a similar article here. Run the application and the result should be the same as yesterday.

  • HTML Tidy in NetBeans IDE

    - by Geertjan
    First step in integrating HTML Tidy (via its JTidy implementation) into NetBeans IDE: The reason why I started doing this is because I want to integrate this into the pluggable analyzer functionality of NetBeans IDE that I recently blogged about, i.e., where the FindBugs functionality is found. So a logical first step is to get it working in an Action class, after which I can port it into the analyzer infrastructure: import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.PrintWriter; import java.io.StringWriter; import org.openide.awt.ActionID; import org.openide.awt.ActionReference; import org.openide.awt.ActionReferences; import org.openide.awt.ActionRegistration; import org.openide.cookies.EditorCookie; import org.openide.cookies.LineCookie; import org.openide.loaders.DataObject; import org.openide.text.Line; import org.openide.text.Line.ShowOpenType; import org.openide.util.Exceptions; import org.openide.util.NbBundle.Messages; import org.openide.windows.IOProvider; import org.openide.windows.InputOutput; import org.openide.windows.OutputEvent; import org.openide.windows.OutputListener; import org.openide.windows.OutputWriter; import org.w3c.tidy.Tidy; @ActionID(     category = "Tools", id = "org.jtidy.TidyAction") @ActionRegistration(     displayName = "#CTL_TidyAction") @ActionReferences({     @ActionReference(path = "Loaders/text/html/Actions", position = 150),     @ActionReference(path = "Editors/text/html/Popup", position = 750) }) @Messages("CTL_TidyAction=Run HTML Tidy") public final class TidyAction implements ActionListener {     private final DataObject context;     private final OutputWriter writer;     private EditorCookie ec = null;     public TidyAction(DataObject context) {         this.context = context;         ec = context.getLookup().lookup(org.openide.cookies.EditorCookie.class);         InputOutput io = IOProvider.getDefault().getIO("HTML Tidy", false);         io.select();         writer = io.getOut();     }     @Override     public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ev) {         Tidy tidy = new Tidy();         try {             writer.reset();             StringWriter stringWriter = new StringWriter();             PrintWriter errorWriter = new PrintWriter(stringWriter);             tidy.setErrout(errorWriter);             tidy.parse(context.getPrimaryFile().getInputStream(), System.out);             String[] split = stringWriter.toString().split("\n");             for (final String string : split) {                 final int end = string.indexOf(" c");                 if (string.startsWith("line")) {                     writer.println(string, new OutputListener() {                         @Override                         public void outputLineAction(OutputEvent oe) {                             LineCookie lc = context.getLookup().lookup(LineCookie.class);                             int lineNumber = Integer.parseInt(string.substring(0, end).replace("line ", ""));                             Line line = lc.getLineSet().getOriginal(lineNumber - 1);                             line.show(ShowOpenType.OPEN, Line.ShowVisibilityType.FOCUS);                         }                         @Override                         public void outputLineSelected(OutputEvent oe) {}                         @Override                         public void outputLineCleared(OutputEvent oe) {}                     });                 }             }         } catch (IOException ex) {             Exceptions.printStackTrace(ex);         }     } } The string parsing above is ugly but gets the job done for now. A problem integrating this into the pluggable analyzer functionality is the limitation of its scope. The analyzer lets you select one or more projects, or individual files, but not a folder. So it doesn't work on folders in the Favorites window, for example, which is where I'd like to apply HTML Tidy, across multiple folders via the analyzer functionality. That's a bit of a bummer that I'm hoping to get around somehow.

  • How to display different value with ComboBoxTableCell?

    - by Philippe Jean
    I try to use ComboxBoxTableCell without success. The content of the cell display the right value for the attribute of an object. But when the combobox is displayed, all items are displayed with the toString object method and not the attribute. I tryed to override updateItem of ComboBoxTableCell or to provide a StringConverter but nothing works. Do you have some ideas to custom comboxbox list display in a table cell ? I put a short example below to see quickly the problem. Execute the app and click in the cell, you will see the combobox with toString value of the object. package javafx2; import javafx.application.Application; import javafx.beans.property.adapter.JavaBeanObjectPropertyBuilder; import javafx.beans.value.ObservableValue; import javafx.collections.FXCollections; import javafx.collections.ObservableList; import javafx.scene.Scene; import javafx.scene.control.TableCell; import javafx.scene.control.TableColumn; import javafx.scene.control.TableColumn.CellDataFeatures; import javafx.scene.control.TableView; import javafx.scene.control.cell.ComboBoxTableCell; import javafx.stage.Stage; import javafx.util.Callback; import javafx.util.StringConverter; public class ComboBoxTableCellTest extends Application { public class Product { private String name; public Product(String name) { this.name = name; } public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } } public class Command { private Integer quantite; private Product product; public Command(Product product, Integer quantite) { this.product = product; this.quantite = quantite; } public Integer getQuantite() { return quantite; } public void setQuantite(Integer quantite) { this.quantite = quantite; } public Product getProduct() { return product; } public void setProduct(Product product) { this.product = product; } } public static void main(String[] args) { launch(args); } @Override public void start(Stage stage) throws Exception { Product p1 = new Product("Product 1"); Product p2 = new Product("Product 2"); final ObservableList<Product> products = FXCollections.observableArrayList(p1, p2); ObservableList<Command> commands = FXCollections.observableArrayList(new Command(p1, 20)); TableView<Command> tv = new TableView<Command>(); tv.setItems(commands); TableColumn<Command, Product> tc = new TableColumn<Command, Product>("Product"); tc.setMinWidth(140); tc.setCellValueFactory(new Callback<TableColumn.CellDataFeatures<Command,Product>, ObservableValue<Product>>() { @Override public ObservableValue<Product> call(CellDataFeatures<Command, Product> cdf) { try { JavaBeanObjectPropertyBuilder<Product> jbdpb = JavaBeanObjectPropertyBuilder.create(); jbdpb.bean(cdf.getValue()); jbdpb.name("product"); return (ObservableValue) jbdpb.build(); } catch (NoSuchMethodException e) { System.err.println(e.getMessage()); } return null; } }); final StringConverter<Product> converter = new StringConverter<ComboBoxTableCellTest.Product>() { @Override public String toString(Product p) { return p.getName(); } @Override public Product fromString(String s) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return null; } }; tc.setCellFactory(new Callback<TableColumn<Command,Product>, TableCell<Command,Product>>() { @Override public TableCell<Command, Product> call(TableColumn<Command, Product> tc) { return new ComboBoxTableCell<Command, Product>(converter, products) { @Override public void updateItem(Product product, boolean empty) { super.updateItem(product, empty); if (product != null) { setText(product.getName()); } } }; } }); tv.getColumns().add(tc); tv.setEditable(true); Scene scene = new Scene(tv, 140, 200); stage.setScene(scene); stage.show(); } }

    The below code results in a timeout. It works fine on non-Android Java. • Droid's mediaserver dies on camera.takePicture()

    - by SirBoss
    On Motorola Droid, Firmware 2.1-update1, Kernel 2.9.29-omap1, Build # ESE81 When attempting to take a picture, mediaserver dies with a segmentation fault. I've tried putting takePicture in a timer and running it a few seconds after camera initialization to check for race conditions, but no change. Just calling Camera.open() doesn't cause the crash. Also, calling Camera.open() causes what I think is the autofocus motor to make a sort of ticking sound. • Elusive race condition in Java

    - by nasufara
    I am creating a graphing calculator. In an attempt to squeeze some more performance out of it, I added some multithreaded to the line calculator. Essentially what my current implementation does is construct a thread-safe Queue of X values, then start however many threads it needs, each one calculating a point on the line using the queue to get its values, and then ordering the points using a HashMap when the calculations are done. This implementation works great, and that's not where my race condition is (merely some background info). In examining the performance results from this, I found that the HashMap is a performance bottleneck, since I do that synchronously on one thread. So I figured that ordering each point as its calculated would work best. I tried a PriorityQueue, but that was slower than the HashMap. I ended up creating an algorithm that essentially works like this: I construct a list of X values to calculate, like in my current algorithm. I then copy that list of values into another class, unimaginatively and temporarily named BlockingList, which is responsible for ordering the points as they are calculated. BlockingList contains a put() method, which takes in two BigDecimals as parameters, the first the X value, the second the calculated Y value. put() will only accept a value if the X value is the next one on the list to be accepted in the list of X values, and will block until another thread gives it the next excepted value. For example, since that can be confusing, say I have two threads, Thread-1 and Thread-2. Thread-2 gets the X value 10.0 from the values queue, and Thread-1 gets 9.0. However, Thread-1 completes its calculations first, and calls put() before Thread-2 does. Because BlockingList is expecting to get 10.0 first, and not 9.0, it will block on Thread-1 until Thread-2 finishes and calls put(). Once Thread-2 gives BlockingList 10.0, it notify()s all waiting threads, and expects 9.0 next. This continues until BlockingList gets all of its expected values. (I apologise if that was hard to follow, if you need more clarification, just ask.) As expected by the question title, there is a race condition in here. If I run it without any System.out.printlns, it will sometimes lock because of conflicting wait() and notifyAll()s, but if I put a println in, it will run great. A small implementation of this is included below, and exhibits the same behavior: import java.math.BigDecimal; import java.util.concurrent.ConcurrentLinkedQueue; public class Example { public static void main(String[] args) throws InterruptedException { // Various scaling values, determined based on the graph size // in the real implementation BigDecimal xMax = new BigDecimal(10); BigDecimal xStep = new BigDecimal(0.05); // Construct the values list, from -10 to 10 final ConcurrentLinkedQueue<BigDecimal> values = new ConcurrentLinkedQueue<BigDecimal>(); for (BigDecimal i = new BigDecimal(-10); i.compareTo(xMax) <= 0; i = i.add(xStep)) { values.add(i); } // Contains the calculated values final BlockingList list = new BlockingList(values); for (int i = 0; i < 4; i++) { new Thread() { public void run() { BigDecimal x; // Keep looping until there are no more values while ((x = values.poll()) != null) { PointPair pair = new PointPair(); pair.realX = x; try { list.put(pair); } catch (Exception ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } } }.start(); } } private static class PointPair { public BigDecimal realX; } private static class BlockingList { private final ConcurrentLinkedQueue<BigDecimal> _values; private final ConcurrentLinkedQueue<PointPair> _list = new ConcurrentLinkedQueue<PointPair>(); public BlockingList(ConcurrentLinkedQueue<BigDecimal> expectedValues) throws InterruptedException { // Copy the values into a new queue BigDecimal[] arr = expectedValues.toArray(new BigDecimal[0]); _values = new ConcurrentLinkedQueue<BigDecimal>(); for (BigDecimal dec : arr) { _values.add(dec); } } public void put(PointPair item) throws InterruptedException { while (item.realX.compareTo(_values.peek()) != 0) { synchronized (this) { // Block until someone enters the next desired value wait(); } } _list.add(item); _values.poll(); synchronized (this) { notifyAll(); } } } } My question is can anybody help me find the threading error? Thanks!

  • Spring security request matcher is not working with regex

    - by Felipe Cardoso Martins
    Using Spring MVC + Security I have a business requirement that the users from SEC (Security team) has full access to the application and FRAUD (Anti-fraud team) has only access to the pages that URL not contains the words "block" or "update" with case insensitive. Bellow, all spring dependencies: $ mvn dependency:tree | grep spring [INFO] +- org.springframework:spring-webmvc:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-asm:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-beans:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-context:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-context-support:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | \- org.springframework:spring-expression:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework:spring-core:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework:spring-web:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-core:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | \- org.springframework:spring-aop:jar:3.0.7.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-web:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | +- org.springframework:spring-jdbc:jar:3.0.7.RELEASE:compile [INFO] | \- org.springframework:spring-tx:jar:3.0.7.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-config:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile [INFO] +- org.springframework.security:spring-security-acl:jar:3.1.2.RELEASE:compile Bellow, some examples of mapped URL path from spring log: Mapped URL path [/index] onto handler 'homeController' Mapped URL path [/index.*] onto handler 'homeController' Mapped URL path [/index/] onto handler 'homeController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/block] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/block.*] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/block/] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/confirmBlock] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/confirmBlock.*] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/cellphone/confirmBlock/] onto handler 'cellphoneController' Mapped URL path [/user/update] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/update.*] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/update/] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/index] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/index.*] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/user/index/] onto handler 'userController' Mapped URL path [/search] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/search.*] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/search/] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/doSearch] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/doSearch.*] onto handler 'searchController' Mapped URL path [/doSearch/] onto handler 'searchController' Bellow, a test of the regular expressions used in spring-security.xml (I'm not a regex speciality, improvements are welcome =]): import java.util.Arrays; The problem already was solved in a very bad way, but I need to fix it quickly. Anyone knows some tricks to debug better it without open the frameworks code? Cheers, Felipe

  • LazyInitializationException when adding to a list that is held within a entity class using hibernate

    - by molleman
    Right so i am working with hibernate gilead and gwt to persist my data on users and files of a website. my users have a list of file locations. i am using annotations to map my classes to the database. i am getting a org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException when i try to add file locations to the list that is held in the user class. this is a method below that is overridden from a external file upload servlet class that i am using. when the file uploads it calls this method. the user1 is loaded from the database elsewhere. the exception occurs at user1.getFileLocations().add(fileLocation); . i dont understand it really at all.! any help would be great. the stack trace of the error is below public String executeAction(HttpServletRequest request, List<FileItem> sessionFiles) throws UploadActionException { for (FileItem item : sessionFiles) { if (false == item.isFormField()) { try { YFUser user1 = (YFUser)getSession().getAttribute(SESSION_USER); • How to solve JAVA menubar, layout and panel problem ?

    i'm not a java guy however i start implementing some security tools with java, in these days i'm creating a gui for my security tools : Here is the how my Gui looks: menuBar = new JMenuBar(); // construct menu bar // hash functions fileMenu = new JMenu("HASH FUNCTIONS"); // define file menu fileMenu.setMnemonic('H'); // shortcut hashes = new JMenuItem("Md5&Sha1"); // define file menu options hashes.setMnemonic('M'); hashes.addActionListener(this); fileMenu.add(hashes); menuBar.add(fileMenu); // add file menu to menu bar // symmetric encryption asMenu = new JMenu("SYMMETRIC ENCRYPTION"); // define format menu asMenu.setMnemonic('S'); // shortcut desItem = new JMenuItem("DES"); // define format menu options desItem.setMnemonic('D'); desItem.addActionListener(this); asMenu.add(desItem); ... ... menuBar.add(helpMenu); // add help menu to menu bar setJMenuBar(menuBar); // put menu bar on application textColor = Color.RED; when from the Menu desitem is selected, desvar is just for not showing the panel multiple times, it calls Panels () else if(e.getSource() == desItem && desvar ==1 ) { // make other panels unvisible. if(hashvar!=1) MyPanel.setVisible(false);//hash functions if(rsavar!=1) MyPanel3.setVisible(false);//rsa function if (dhvar!=1) MyPanel4.setVisible(false);//dh diffie hellman hashvar=1; rsavar=1; dhvar=1; ++desvar; desPanel=true; Panels(); } and in Panels() Method: if (hashPanel){ MyPanel.add("West",radioSHA1); MyPanel.add("West",radioMD5); MyPanel.add("Center", inputField); MyPanel.add("East",SubmitButton); MyPanel.add("South",resultHash); add(MyPanel); validate(); hashPanel=false; } i have many panels for example : -hash functions=mypanel1 , des=mypanel2, rsa functions= mypanel3 , dh= mypanel4 However in may other panals such as rsa function: i have to use some layout properties of the java:in this panel i selected to use gridbaglayout if (dhPanel){ System.out.println("rsa panel burda misin"); MyPanel3.add(pqLabel); MyPanel3.add(pLabel); MyPanel3.add(pTextArea); MyPanel3.add(qLabel); ... ... add(MyPanel3); generate_pqButton.addActionListener(this); calculate_nButton.addActionListener(this); ... ... GridBagLayout layout = new GridBagLayout(); GridBagConstraints gbc = new GridBagConstraints(); setLayout(layout); // x, y, w, h, wx, wy gbc.fill = GridBagConstraints.NONE; add (bit_length_label, gbc, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (p, gbc, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (g, gbc, 0, 2, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (a, gbc, 1, 3, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (x, gbc, 0, 4, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (gx, gbc, 0, 5, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (gxy, gbc, 0, 6, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (b, gbc, 1, 7, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (y, gbc, 0, 8, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (gy, gbc, 0, 9, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (gyx, gbc, 0, 10, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (sk, gbc, 1, 11, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (key, gbc, 0, 12, 1, 1, 0, 10); add (status, gbc, 1, 13, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (dhstart, gbc, 1, 14, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (bit_length_value, gbc, 1, 0, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (p_value, gbc, 1, 1, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (g_value, gbc, 1, 2, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (x_value, gbc, 1, 4, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (gx_value, gbc, 1, 5, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (gxy_value, gbc, 1, 6, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (y_value, gbc, 1, 8, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (gy_value, gbc, 1, 9, 1, 1, 100, 10); add (gyx_value, gbc, 1, 10, 1, 1, 100, 10); validate(); repaint(); rsaPanel=false; } Everthing seems okey however when i swith from one menu to another sometimes components are seen or apper in wrong places or mixed. where i'm doing wrong?

  • How do I implement a remove by index method for a singly linked list in Java?

    - by Lars Flyger
    Hi, I'm a student in a programming class, and I need some help with this code I've written. So far I've written an entire linked list class (seen below), yet for some reason the "removeByIndex" method won't work. I can't seem to figure out why, the logic seems sound to me. Is there some problem I don't know about? public class List<T> { //private sub-class Link private class Link { private T value; private Link next; //constructors of Link: public Link (T val) { this.value = val; this.next = null; } public Link (T val, Link next) { this.value = val; this.next = next; } @SuppressWarnings("unused") public T getValue() { return value; } } private static final Exception NoSuchElementException = null; private static final Exception IndexOutOfBoundsException = null; private Link chain = null; //constructors of List: public List() { this.chain = null; } //methods of List: /** * Preconditions: none * Postconditions: returns true if list is empty */ public boolean isEmpty() { return this.chain == null; } /** * Preconditions: none * Postconditions: A new Link is added via add-aux * @param element */ public void add(T element) { this.add_aux(element, this.chain); } /** * Preconditions: none * Postconditions: A new Link is added to the current chain * @param element * @param chain */ private void add_aux(T element, Link chain) { if (chain == null) { //if chain is null set chain to a new Link with a value of //element this.chain = new Link(element); } else if (chain.next != null) { //if chain.next is not null, go to next item in chain and //try //to add element add_aux(element, chain.next); } else { //if chain.next is null, set chain.next equal to a new Link //with value of element. chain.next = new Link(element); } } /** * Preconditions: none * Postconditions: returns the link at the defined index via nthlink_aux * @param index * @return */ private Link nthLink (int index) { return nthLink_aux(index, this.chain); } /** * Preconditions: none * Postconditions: returns the link at the defined index in the specified *chain * @param i * @param c * @return */ private Link nthLink_aux (int i, Link c) { if (i == 0) { return c; } else return nthLink_aux(i-1, c.next); } /** * Preconditions: the specified element is present in the list * Postconditions: the specified element is removed from the list * @param element * @throws Exception */ public void removeElement(T element) throws Exception { if (chain == null) { throw NoSuchElementException; } //while chain's next is not null and the value of chain.next is not //equal to element, //set chain equal to chain.next //use this iteration to go through the linked list. else while ((chain.next != null) && !(chain.next.value.equals(element))){ Link testlink = chain.next; if (testlink.next.value.equals(element)) { //if chain.next is equal to element, bypass the //element. chain.next.next = chain.next.next.next; } else if (testlink.next == null) { throw NoSuchElementException; } } } /** * Preconditions: none * Postsconditions: the Link at the specified index is removed * @param index * @throws Exception */ public void removeByIndex(int index) throws Exception { if (index == 0) { //if index is 0, set chain equal to chain.next chain = chain.next; } else throw IndexOutOfBoundsException; } /** * Preconditions: none * Postconditions: the specified link's value is printed * @param link */ public void printLink (Link link) { if(link != null) { System.out.println(link.value.toString()); } //while chain's next is not null and the value of chain.next is not //equal to element, //set chain equal to chain.next //use this iteration to go through the linked list. else while ((chain.next != null) && !(chain.next.value.equals(element))) { Link testlink = chain.next; if (testlink.next.value.equals(element)) { //if chain.next is equal to element, return true return true; } else if (testlink.next == null) { return false; } } return false; } /** * Preconditions: none * Postconditions: order of the links in the list is reversed. */ public void reverse() { //copy chain Link current = chain; //set chain equal to null chain = null; while (current != null) { Link save = current; current = current.next; save.next = chain; chain = save; } } }'

  • How to customize the renders in prefuse. Problem in customize images in prefuse layout

    - by user324926
    HI all, I have written a java application to show the images in different layouts. I am able to show it different layout correctly but some times the images are overlapped. Can you please help me, how to solve this problem. My code is given below `import javax.swing.JFrame; import java.awt.image.BufferedImage; import javax.imageio.ImageIO; import java.util.; import java.io.; import java.awt.Font; import prefuse.Constants; import prefuse.Display; import prefuse.Visualization; import prefuse.action.ActionList; import prefuse.action.RepaintAction; import prefuse.action.assignment.ColorAction; import prefuse.action.assignment.FontAction; import prefuse.action.assignment.DataColorAction; import prefuse.action.layout.graph.ForceDirectedLayout; import prefuse.action.layout.graph.; import prefuse.action.layout.; import prefuse.activity.Activity; import prefuse.controls.DragControl; import prefuse.controls.PanControl; import prefuse.controls.ZoomControl; import prefuse.data.Graph; import prefuse.data.io.DataIOException; import prefuse.data.io.GraphMLReader; import prefuse.render.DefaultRendererFactory; import prefuse.render.LabelRenderer; import prefuse.util.ColorLib; import prefuse.visual.VisualItem; import prefuse.visual.*; import prefuse.util.FontLib; import prefuse.action.assignment.DataSizeAction; import prefuse.data.*; import prefuse.render.ImageFactory; public class LayoutExample { public static void main(String[] argv) throws Exception { Graph graph = null; try { graph = new GraphMLReader().readGraph("/graphs.xml"); } catch ( DataIOException e ) { e.printStackTrace(); System.err.println("Error loading graph. Exiting..."); System.exit(1); } ImageFactory imageFactory = new ImageFactory(100,100); try { //load images and construct imageFactory. String images[] = new String[3]; images[0] = "data/images/switch.png"; images[1] = "data/images/ip_network.png"; images[2] = "data/images/router.png"; String[] names = new String[] {"Switch","Network","Router"}; BufferedImage img = null; for(int i=0; i < images.length ; i++) { try { img = ImageIO.read(new File(images[i])); imageFactory.addImage(names[i],img); } catch (IOException e){ } } } catch(Exception exp) { } Visualization vis = new Visualization(); vis.add("graph", graph); LabelRenderer nodeRenderer = new LabelRenderer("name", "type"); nodeRenderer.setVerticalAlignment(Constants.BOTTOM); nodeRenderer.setHorizontalPadding(0); nodeRenderer.setVerticalPadding(0); nodeRenderer.setImagePosition(Constants.TOP); nodeRenderer.setMaxImageDimensions(100,100); DefaultRendererFactory drf = new DefaultRendererFactory(); drf.setDefaultRenderer(nodeRenderer); vis.setRendererFactory(drf); ColorAction nText = new ColorAction("graph.nodes", VisualItem.TEXTCOLOR); nText.setDefaultColor(ColorLib.gray(100)); ColorAction nEdges = new ColorAction("graph.edges", VisualItem.STROKECOLOR); nEdges.setDefaultColor(ColorLib.gray(100)); // bundle the color actions ActionList draw = new ActionList(); //MAD - changing the size of the nodes dependent on the weight of the people final DataSizeAction dsa = new DataSizeAction("graph.nodes","size"); draw.add(dsa); draw.add(nText); draw.add(new FontAction("graph.nodes", FontLib.getFont("Tahoma",Font.BOLD, 12))); draw.add(nEdges); vis.putAction("draw", draw); ActionList layout = new ActionList(Activity.DEFAULT_STEP_TIME); BalloonTreeLayout balloonlayout = new BalloonTreeLayout("graph",50); layout.add(balloonlayout); Display d = new Display(vis); vis.putAction("layout", layout); // start up the animated layout vis.run("draw"); vis.run("layout"); d.addControlListener(new DragControl()); // pan with left-click drag on background d.addControlListener(new PanControl()); // zoom with right-click drag d.addControlListener(new ZoomControl()); // -- 6. launch the visualization ------------------------------------- // create a new window to hold the visualization JFrame frame = new JFrame("prefuse example"); // ensure application exits when window is closed frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); frame.add(d); frame.pack(); // layout components in window frame.setVisible(true); // show the window } } ` Can anyone please let me know how to customize the image sizes / renders insuch way that images won't overlapped. Thanks R.Ravikumar
