    posted by Maurice Bauhahn Remote Diagnostic Agent (RDA) version 4.30 was released on December 11th A free download can be accessed via Knowledge Management article 314422.1 and installed in any Enterprise Performance Management 11.1.2.x environment. EPM-specific instructions are available in Knowledge Management article 1304885.1. This RDA version incorporates two new modules (EAS=Essbase Administration Services; HWA=Hyperion Web Analysis) and improvements in modules and profiles relating to twelve other Hyperion applications (EPM, EPMA, ESS, FCM, HFM, HFR, HIR, HPL, HPSV, HSS, PR, and HSV). To follow best practice, run related RDA profiles [for example: "perl rda.pl -vnSCRPp Hyperion1112_EAS"] and attach the output zip file [by default in \rda\output\] to your service requests. The comprehensive set of details provided in such output files should help technicians to avoid delays in handling service requests (by avoiding ping-pong communications resulting from repeated requests for additional values).

  • No Launcher or bars on desktop when running from a VPS

    I'm using tightVNC on Ubuntu 12.10 and can see and change the desktop background pic. I can also press f3 to get a file viewer. But there is no topbar or left side launcher. I do not think its an nvidia problem because I'm using a VPS and I logon remotely. I've tried so many variations of /root/.vnc/xstartup such as gnome-session &, or gnome-session –-session=gnome-classic &, my head is spinning. I've seen other people have this issue and was wondering if anyone solved it.

I'm starting a new desktop (Adobe AIR) app project but I found myself having difficulties with: stuck with thinking about overall UI design in the traditional page model not sure how to handle the navigation part in the UI not taking advantage of states deciding what should be implemented on client vs server side.   • Mouse Not Detected & Network Not Connected After Installing Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop via Live USB

    I just recently (+- 30 minutes ago) install Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop on my pc (dual boot) via Live USB (i check the "automatically install upgrade" option when installing it). unfortunately, at the login screen after the installation finished (after reboot), i cannot use my mouse! also, an error message occur saying that network connection is not available. but, when i restart again and using the "try Ubuntu without installing" in the Live USB, the problems didn't occur. i tried to googling this but failed to find any solution. and yes, i am totally green on Ubuntu and Linux. so, please, help me on this. thanks in advance.

  • There was an error getting information about "/" while copying to desktop

    Currently running Ubuntu 13.10 after a fresh install/re install due to this problem. The error occurs whenever I try to drag a file from the Ubuntu search( in the launcher ), to the desktop. the whole error message is as follows... "Error while copying. There was an error getting information about “/”." Show more details reveals the following... "The specified location is not supported" I don't understand the problem and can't see any clear way of fixing it. Any and all advice would be appreciated. :)

    Up until a couple of years ago, I used to turn to RescueTime to figure out how I spend my time online. Then it got too complex, and I stopped using it. Personal Activity Monitor is like a vastly dumbed-down version of RescueTime, and I mean that as a compliment.   • logging with Openbox / Gnome shows empty Desktop

    I installed new 12.04 and Openbox. I logged in with GNOME/Openbox and now after system starts I see only Desktop background image and nothing more. When I right click I can do normal GNOME actions like create folder and nothing more really. alt+f2 doesn't start run window though I managed to create a folder and then with Nautilus start terminal but I really don't know what to do next. Two questions: Why doesn't Openbox start properly? How in this situation I can get back to GDM login screen and choose other option to log in?

    I have finally made the switch from Windows to Ubuntu and now have to ask the first question because search did not help me this time. (Please help me in a newb-friendly way) The problem is easily described: The elements shown in the lockscreen on boot (ubuntu logo in the middle and watermark in bottom left corner) stay there even when I'm entering desktop. How can I remove them again? They haven't been there in the first place, but after updating Ubuntu with Update Center, the problem occured.     I have been looking around a little bit, but most of the discussions are about problems with already existing systems (particular graphics card and setup etc.). I would like to ask what would be the best option for me if I want to build powerful desktop with triple monitor setup. I have one Dell UltraSharp U2713HM (27 inches, 2560x1440) and I was thinking about getting two more. Would it be possible to have those three working with ubuntu (kubuntu) on any graphics card out there today? What is the best option if it comes to choosing particular model? Should I use proprietary drivers or some open sourced ones? I am not a gamer. I mostly develop on my machines and running some computational tasks, but I would rather like to spend some more money and have setup where I don't see any lags :) thank You very much in advance!     I will be releasing my Air/Flex application soon, but I am pretty sure there are a couple of bugs that may pop up on the various platforms that Air is available for. So I was wondering if there is a way to implement a mechanism, that would send an error report, logging where the error happened, to a remote server each time an app crashes? This way I might catch errors that otherwise would go unnoticed.

This can be easily done by hiding the navigation parts using css/media queries. However, trouble is that the hidden sites would still show up in search engines' search results. If a user happens to click on one of these links she might happen to see a badly formatted page as we'd use desktop/tablet only code to show images and video. Is there any way to "influence" to exclude certain pages if the search is done on a mobile device? Do search engines crawl pages once or with a device specific view twice? Could we set a noindex meta tag for a specific device class?
