FastCGI C++ program and missing SCRIPT_NAME

Hi guys, i'm studying the fastcgi developement kit because i'm writing a new scripting language and i'd like to write a fastcgi version of the interpreter to run scripts as webpages. I'm using this example from the sdk, located at /srv/http/bin/echocpp So, in my httpd.conf file, i have the following lines : FastCgiServer /srv/http/bin/echocpp -idle-timeout 120 -processes 4 ScriptAlias / /srv/http/bin/echocpp/ ... ... AddHandler fastcgi-script hy Where 'hy' is the extensions of my scripts. Then, when i try browse, for instance http://localhost/~evilsocket/prime.hy I see all the environment variables as expected from the echo-cpp.cpp programm, except for the SCRIPT_NAME that is empty. Is there something i'm missing out of this? How am i supposed to obtain the full path of the script to run it inside my fastcgi version of the interpreter? Thanks

Build Event Macros for Other Projects in the Solution

Is it possible to reference other projects' properties via a macro within a build event? For example: "Tool1" outputs to directory ..\..\bin\Release "Component1" uses "Tool1" in its post-buildevent To get to "Tool1", "Component1"'s project must do something like $(SolutionDir)bin\Release This requires that Tool1 always output to ..\..\bin\Release. If this is changed this breaks the other project. I know there is no indication to this within the macro list but is there a way to reference another project? Maybe like $(OtherProject.TargetDir)... I know WIX has a similar syntax [$(var.OtherProject.TargetDir)] but I think that may be a different mechanism.

Changing Clickonce source folder

We copy our production build in a separate folder using post-build events, and replace the app.config file with our production app.config. However Clickonce reads the files in bin\Release folder. I have also tried copying all files from our custom build location to bin\Release folder in the post-build event, but app.config is still overridden (I guess clickonce re-builds the project into bin\Release). Is it possible to tell Clickonce to read from our custom folder? Or, if that's not the right way to go, how do you handle this kind of situation?

Class-Dump Installation

So this may sound like a really stupid question and I HAVE looked at the how-to from the parent website, but no matter what I do, I cannot get this program to even start to install... I tried entering: cd /opt/local/bin/portslocation/dports/class-dump which returned a "this file/director doesnt exist" error, so i tried to get to it folder by folder. when i got all the way to: cd /opt/local/bin/ i cannot go any further. when i check the contents of the bin directory, the only files i can find are (and i cannot access these apparently either): "daemondo port portf portindex portmirror" i have tried doing this on 2 computers so far to no avail, macports is installed on both like the website said and i am having trouble finding any support for it. please and thank you!!

OutputPath ignored on projects being build by TFS 2010

I have installed TFS2010 Beta 2 with default settings and configured a CI build with a solution containing the indivial projects. My *.cspoj files could have: <OutputPath>bin\debug\</OutputPath> Or alternatively: <OutDir>bin\debug\</OutDir> When the build server is done building and running tests etc. all the assemblies are placed in the root of the build drop off folder. How do I configure the build to keep the outputpath or outdir in my projects and store the assemblies and content in the matching folder structure( builddropfolder\bin\debug\ )? I have found a number of post on this most of them relates to TFS 2008 but I have not found solutions for TFS 2010. Perhaps it is possible to solve this in the new workflow file for the buildserver?

Recently I looked at a module on CPAN that comes with a script to be installed which made me wonder. What is the recommended way to include a script in a package that should end up on the public CPAN and if there is any different recommendation for packages that would be released on an in-house CPAN server? The script starts like this: #!/usr/bin/perl eval 'exec /usr/bin/perl -S $0 ${1+"$@"}' if 0; # not running under some shell Two questions Do I understand correctly the eval part is unnecessary? That will be embedded by the CPAN client during installation and it will be very different when installing on Windows. What is the recommended sh-bang line? Would that be #!/usr/bin/env perl instead of the above?

How do I change my current directory from a python script?

I'm trying to implement my own version of the 'cd' command that presents the user with a list of hard-coded directories to choose from, and the user has to enter a number corresponding to an entry in the list. The program, named my_cd.py for now, should then effectively 'cd' the user to the chosen directory. Example of how this should work: /some/directory $ my_cd.py 1) ~ 2) /bin/ 3) /usr Enter menu selection, or q to quit: 2 /bin $ Currently, I'm trying to 'cd' using os.chdir('dir'). However, this doesn't work, probably because my_cd.py is kicked off in its own child process. I tried wrapping the call to my_cd.py in a sourced bash script named my_cd.sh: #! /bin/bash function my_cd() { /path/to/my_cd.py } /some/directory $ . my_cd.sh $ my_cd ... shows list of dirs, but doesn't 'cd' in the interactive shell Any ideas on how I can get this to work? Is it possible to change my interactive shell's current directory from a python script?

Finding relative libraries when using symlinks to ruby executables

Imagine you have an executable foo.rb, with libraries bar.rb layed out in the following manner: <root>/bin/foo.rb <root>/lib/bar.rb In the header of foo.rb you place the following require to bring in functionality in bar.rb: require File.dirname(__FILE__)+"../lib/bar.rb" This works fine so long as all calls to foo.rb are direct. If you put as say $HOME/project, and symlink foo.rb into $HOME/usr/bin, then __FILE__ resolves to $HOME/usr/bin/foo.rb, and is thus unable to locate bar.rb in relation to the dirname for foo.rb. I realize that packaging systems such as rubygems fix this by creating a namespace to search for the library, and that it is also possible to adjust the load_path using $: to include $HOME/project/lib, but it seems as if a more simple solution should exist. Has anyone had experience with this problem and found a useful solution or recipe?

In the real life case I am dealing with, there might be 50+ objects and a dozen binaries to build, with only small changes between the object list each time, so it would be nice not to have to list all the objects each time.

Using svn remove - preserve file on disk instead of having it deleted?

Hi, I am creating an eclipse project, which generates a lot of files I don't want to keep under version control. For example, it creates a project folder like: project/ bin/ horse.class cow.class src/ horse.java cow.java so what I do is add the project folder to svn, like: svn add project this puts everything under control, even the bin and .class files. All of those files will have the little 'a' next to them. How can I simply remove the 'add' status from those files? If I try: svn remove bin/horse.class I have to use the --force option and it deletes the file from disk. Is there a way to simply remove it from source but not delete the file from disk? Thanks

having problems in running my java program..

I'm a beginner in java so this question might seem a little stupid, my jdk and jre are installed in C:\program files, I write my program and save it in in my folder G:\start, now my program compiles without any error(the .class file is also generated), but when i run my program it says "unable to locate G:\lib\amd64\jvm.cfg", so i copy the 'lib' folder from my jdk folder and paste it in G:, again program compiles without any error, but when i run it,it gives my a new error saying "unable to locate G:\bin\server\jvm.dll",so i copy the 'bin' folder to g:, but now when i run, it gives me the same error again "unable to locate G:\bin\server\jvm.dll",where am I going wrong?

How can I change ruby log level in unit tests based on context

I'm new to ruby so forgive me if this is simple or I get some terminology wrong. I've got a bunch of unit tests (actually they're integration tests for another project, but they use ruby test/unit) and they all include from a module that sets up an instance variable for the log object. When I run the individual tests I'd like log.level to be debug, but when I run a suite I'd like log.level to be error. Is it possible to do this with the approach I'm taking, or does the code need to be restructured? Here's a small example of what I have so far. I searched the internet for the basic formats of image files (e.g. .jpg, .png, .gif) as there is a specific format for .doc, .pdf etc. But didn't got anything relevant. And today I also came with an .bin image format. BIN signifies that the image is in the Binary format. So, what is the Internal format of .jpg image file. And How is it different from .bin (Binary) format. Because everything is Basically saved in Binary Form. And How is BITMAP Image different from .jpg format.

MacPorts: violation of the ports-filesystem hierarchy in the destroot phase

I'm in the process of developing a Portfile for my application and I'm running into problems during the destroot phase. According to the MacPorts guide, the destroot phase executes the following command: make install DESTDIR=${destroot} I think I may be misunderstanding how this is supposed to work in the Makefile. My application is very simple and the install rule only needs to copy a couple of directories to the DESTDIR so it is specified as follows: install: cp -R bin $(DESTDIR)/bin cp -R lib $(DESTDIR)/lib cp -R cfg $(DESTDIR)/cfg However, when I try to do a MacPort installation of my application, I get the following warnings: ---> Staging test into destroot Warning: violation by /bin Warning: violation by /lib Warning: violation by /cfg Warning: test violates the layout of the ports-filesystems! How do I fix this? Am I misunderstanding how the DESTDIR variable is used in the install rule or missing something altogether?

OSError: [Error 1] Operation not permitted

I am trying to run a python script which uses a binary file (xFiles.bin.addr_patched) created by a postlinker. However, I am getting this error. File "abc.py", line 74, in ParseCmd shutil.copy(gOptions.inputX, gWorkingXFile) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/shutil.py", line 89, in copy copymode(src, dst) File "/usr/lib/python2.6/shutil.py", line 66, in copymode os.chmod(dst, mode) OSError: [Errno 1] Operation not permitted: 'myPath/xFiles.bin.addr_patched' When I checked the permissions of this xFiles.bin, by ls-l, it shows that -rwxrwxrwx 1 nobody nogroup I presume the error is because this file was created by some other application, the python script I am running does not have access to it. Since I am beginner wrt ubuntu, I don't really know how to fix it. Any suggestions on how to fix this? SOLVED: As one of the answers Suggested : chown username:groupname file name fixes this issue

htaccess rewrite; Should I change all relative links or not?

I have a rewrite in htaccess which makes this: domain.com/ad.php?ad_id=bmw_m3_328942948 into this: domain.com/ads/bmw_m3_328942948 Problem is the links which are relative to the file wont work... for instance if a link is pointing at '/bin/edit.php' like this originally: domain.com/bin/edit.php // WORKS but after the rewrite the link wants to point here instead: domain.com/ads/bin/edit.php // NOT WORK - NOTE THE /ads/ DOESN'T EXIST IN REALITY Do you understand my issue? What is done about this? BufferedInputStream.read(byte[]) Causes problems. Anyone have this problem before?

Hello! I've written a Java program that downloads audio files for me and I'm using BufferedInputStream. The read() function works fine but is really slow so I've tried using the overloaded version using byte[]. For some reason, the audio becomes lossy and strange after download. I'm not totally sure what I'm doing wrong so any help is appreciated! Here's the simplified, sloppy version of the code. A lot of customers ask how to verify their SOA clusters and make them production ready. Test Case 1 Check if you can see AS instances in the console Implementation 1. Log on to the AS Console --> check to see if you can see all the nodes in your AS cluster. You should be able to see all the Oracle AS instances that are part of the cluster. This means that the OPMN clustering worked and the AS instances successfully joined the AS cluster. Result You should be able to see if all the instances in the AS cluster are listed in the EM console. If the instances are not listed here are the files to check to see if OPMN joined the cluster properly: $ORACLE_HOME\opmn\logs{*}opmn.log*$ORACLE_HOME\opmn\logs{*}opmn.dbg* If OPMN did not join the cluster properly, please check the opmn.xml file to make sure the discovery multicast address and port are correct (see this link for opmn documentation). Restart the whole instance using opmnctl stopall followed by opmnctl startall. Log on to AS console to see if instance is listed as part of the cluster. Test Case 2 Check to see if you can start/stop each component Implementation Check each OC4J component on each AS instanceStart each and every component through the AS console to see if they will start and stop.Do that for each and every instance. Result Each component should start and stop through the AS console. You can also verify if the component started by checking opmnctl status by logging onto each box associated with the cluster Test Case 3 Add/modify a datasource entry through AS console on a remote AS instance (not on the instance where EM is physically running) Implementation Pick an OC4J instanceCreate a new data-source through the AS consoleModify an existing data-source or connection pool (optional) Result Open $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\<oc4j_name>\config\data-sources.xml to see if the new (and or the modified) connection details and data-source exist. If they do then the AS console has successfully updated a remote file and MBeans are communicating correctly. Test Case 4 Start and stop AS instances using opmnctl @cluster command Implementation 1. Go to $ORACLE_HOME\opmn\bin and use the opmnctl @cluster to start and stop the AS instances Result Use opmnctl @cluster status to check for start and stop statuses. HTTP server test cases This section will deal with use cases to test HTTP server failover scenarios. In these examples the HTTP server will be talking to the BPEL console (or any other web application that the client wants), so the URL will be _http://hostname:port\BPELConsole Test Case 1 Shut down one of the HTTP servers while accessing the BPEL console and see the requested routed to the second HTTP server in the cluster Implementation Access the BPELConsoleCheck $ORACLE_HOME\Apache\Apache\logs\access_log --> check for the timestamp and the URL that was accessed by the user. Timestamp and URL would look like this 1xx.2x.2xx.xxx [24/Mar/2009:16:04:38 -0500] "GET /BPELConsole=System HTTP/1.1" 200 15 After you have figured out which HTTP server this is running on, shut down this HTTP server by using opmnctl stopproc --> this is a graceful shutdown.Access the BPELConsole again (please note that you should have a LoadBalancer in front of the HTTP server and configured the Apache Virtual Host, see EDG for steps)Check $ORACLE_HOME\Apache\Apache\logs\access_log --> check for the timestamp and the URL that was accessed by the user. Timestamp and URL would look like above Result Even though you are shutting down the HTTP server the request is routed to the surviving HTTP server, which is then able to route the request to the BPEL Console and you are able to access the console. By checking the access log file you can confirm that the request is being picked up by the surviving node. Test Case 2 Repeat the same test as above but instead of calling opmnctl stopproc, pull the network cord of one of the HTTP servers, so that the LBR routes the request to the surviving HTTP node --> this is simulating a network failure. Test Case 3 In test case 1 we have simulated a graceful shutdown, in this case we will simulate an Apache crash Implementation Use opmnctl status -l to get the PID of the HTTP server that you would like forcefully bring downOn Linux use kill -9 <PID> to kill the HTTP serverAccess the BPEL console Result As you shut down the HTTP server, OPMN will restart the HTTP server. The restart may be so quick that the LBR may still route the request to the same server. One way to check if the HTTP server restared is to check the new PID and the timestamp in the access log for the BPEL console. BPEL test cases This section is going to cover scenarios dealing with BPEL clustering using jGroups, BPEL deployment and testing related to BPEL failover. Test Case 1 Verify that jGroups has initialized correctly. There is no real testing in this use case just a visual verification by looking at log files that jGroups has initialized correctly. Check the opmn log for the BPEL container for all nodes at $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/<group name><container name><group name>~1.log. This logfile will contain jGroups related information during startup and steady-state operation. Hi, I have problem with streaming. I am trying to package a simple maven java project (uses javax.persistence api) into a single jar using the onejar-maven-plugin. java runtime 6 with socks v5 proxy - Possible?

I have written an application that (amongst other things) runs a local service in windows that acts as a SOCKS v5 proxy for Firefox. I'm in the debugging phase right now and have found certain websites that don't work correctly. For example the Java Applet for Picture Uploading on Facebook.com fails because is is unable to lookup domains. My app overrides a hidden FF config setting network.proxy.socks__remote__dns setting it to true. The whole purpose of the app is to allow access to websites when behind a firewall (e.g. if the user is in China), so this setting is essential to ensure domains are resolved remotely also (and not just HTTP requests). In the JRE6 settings (documented here) there isn't an equivalent setting, and since remote DNS resolution is a feature of SOCKS v5 and not v4 as the documentation seems to imply I'm worried that it's just not possible. How can I programmatically make sure the JRE uses a SOCKS v5 proxy for all requests (including DNS)? UPDATE: Steps to reproduce this problem: Make sure you are behind a firewall that blocks (or redirects) internet access including DNS Install PuTTY and add a dynamic SSH tunnel on some port number of your choice (e.g. 9870). Then login to a remote server that has full access to the internet Launch Firefox and you will not be able to browse the web In FF network settings set the SOCKS v5 proxy to localhost:9870 In FF go to about:config, change network.proxy.socks__remote__dns to true You will now be able to browse the web. Go to facebook.com, login, go to your profile and attempt to use the picture uploader java applet to add some pictures It will fail with a series of class not found errors looking similar to: load: class com.facebook.facebookphotouploader5.FacebookPhotoUploader5.class not found. I believe this is failing because the JRE is unable to resolve the domain that the class resides on. I'm basing this belief on the fact that the documentation (http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/deployment/deployment-guide/properties.html) talks only about SOCKS v4 (which as far as I know does not support remote DNS). My deployment.properties file is located in %APPDATA%\Sun\Java\Deployment. I can confirm that modifications I make in the Java Control Panel get written into that file. If instead of "Use browser setting" the network settings for Java I override and attempt to use the SOCKS proxy settings manually, I still have the issue. There does not seem to be an easy way to force the JRE to do DNS remotely through the Proxy. UPDATE 2: Without the SOCKS proxy, from my local client www.facebook.com resolves to 203.161.230.171 upload.facebook.com resolves to 64.33.88.161 Neither host is reachable (because of the firewall) If I login to the remote server, I get: www.facebook.com 69.63.187.17 upload.facebook.com 69.63.178.32 Both these IPs change after a few minutes, as it seems Facebook uses round-robin DNS and other load-balancing. With the Proxy settings set in Firefox, I can navigate to www.facebook.com without any difficulty (since DNS is being resolved remotely on the Proxy). Whey I go to the page with the Java applet it fails with the stacktrace messages I've already reported. However if I edit Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, adding the correct IP for upload.facebook.com I can get the applet to load and work correctly (restart of FF is sometimes necessary). This evidence seems to support my theory that the Java Runtime is not resolving DNS on the Proxy, but instead just routing traffic though it. My application is for mass-deployment, and needs to work with java applets on other sites (not just facebook). I really need a work-around for this problem. Java Cloud Service Integration using Web Service Data Control

Java Cloud Service (JCS) provides a platform to develop and deploy business applications in the cloud. In Fusion Applications Cloud deployments customers do not have the option to deploy custom applications developed with JDeveloper to ensure the integrity and supportability of the hosted application service. To register you will need a credit card even if the credit card will not be charged. To register simply click "Try it" and choose the "Java" option. The confirmation email will contain the connection details. See this video for example of the registration. Once the request is processed you will be assigned 2 service instances; Java and Database. Applications deployed to the JCS must use Oracle Database Cloud Service as their underlying database. So when JCS instance is created a database instance is associated with it using a JDBC data source. The cloud services can be monitored and managed through the web UI. For details refer to Getting Started with Oracle Cloud. JDeveloper JDeveloper contains Cloud specific features related to e.g. connection and deployment. To use these features download the JDeveloper from JDeveloper download site by clicking the “Download JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.1 for ADF deployment on Oracle Cloud” link, this version of JDeveloper will have the JCS integration features that will be used in this article. For versions that do not include the Cloud integration features the Oracle Java Cloud Service SDK or the JCS Java Console can be used for deployment. For details on installing and configuring the JDeveloper refer to the installation guide. For details on SDK refer to Using the Command-Line Interface to Monitor Oracle Java Cloud Service and Using the Command-Line Interface to Manage Oracle Java Cloud Service. Create Application In this example the “JcsWsDemo” application created in the “Java Cloud Service Integration using Web Service Proxy” article is used as the base. Create Web Service Data Control In this example we will use a Web Service Data Control to integrate with Credit Rule Service in Fusion Applications. The data control will be used to query data from Fusion Applications using a web service call and present the data in a table.
