iphone uiwebview / form

Hey All, Okay, so I have an iphone app that presents the user with a UIWebview of an html page with a form I created. The form has standard stuff like a message box and dropdown boxes. Once the user fills out the form and clicks submit, it saves the information as nsstrings in my program. Okay, no problem there. That all works fine. However, I also wanna be able to edit this form as well. Once I save all this information the user selected in the form (as strings), is there a way to put it back into an html form using an uiwebview so a user of the app can edit the info later on?? I apologize in advance if I didn't give enough info.

SHFileOperation replace file dialog

Currently, SHFileOperation has some confirm file replacement dialog boxes that ask the user if they would like to replace a file or not. I find these useful, but I would like to be able to modify the scenario in which they occur. Instead, I would like to compare the file contents first with a bool compareFile() function I wrote. Then, if the files are identical the file replacement dialog box will not come up. Assuming, I already have a working compareFile() function, is there a way for me to do this? AppendTo, does it change the DOM?

Hi, I have two list boxes and some JQuery function that does the following: $(document).ready(function () { //If you want to move selected item from fromListBox to toListBox $("#AddButton").click(function () { $("#fromListBox option:selected").appendTo("#toListBox"); }); }); I have a button that when clicked moves items from one list to another. This works, however when I do "View Page Source" in chrome, the list contains the original list and not the newly added items. I expected appendTo to change the DOM but clearly this is not what is happening. Why is this? JD

Managing tabs and their effects.

I have two separate areas in my form. Left side for radio buttons, combo boxes, etc. Right side for tabs and even tabs within tabs. For each tab selected, I'd like to display different controls on the left side for use in that tab. I've tried using many things, including focus, click, etc. Nothing seems to work the way I intend it to. Especially on the tabs within the tabs. Thank you.

Track each URL and Parameters sent from Form

Simple question really for anyone who's been through this: I have a form that I'm placing on a site. This form submits some parameters to a site which then sends some parameters using "GET" to another site, which then opens the third site. Now the first 2 sites pass so quickly that I can not see what parameters were passed using the URL. I can do a manual check using source code but its too long and complex. I just need a simple tool or hint or firefox addon on how to track every single URL (wven if it has a META redirect) so I can read parameters being sent via the form. Thanks

CSS: Centering a floated block level element in IE6 (It almost works)

I have a block level element which I am centering on the page. I have gotten it to work for all other browsers except IE6 where it ALMOST works. http://tinyurl.com/28sh9eq If I view the page in IE6 the red box is slightly off center of the pink one in IE. If I then resize the browser window it snaps into place where I want it. Uhhhhh.... yea.... what gives? How come resizing the window makes it work? Is SHA sufficient for checking file duplication? (sha1_file in PHP)

Suppose you wanted to make a file hosting site for people to upload their files and send a link to their friends to retrieve it later and you want to insure files are duplicated where we store them, is PHP's sha1_file good enough for the task? Is there any reason to not use md5_file instead? For the frontend, it'll be obscured using the original file name store in a database but some additional concerns would be if this would reveal anything about the original poster. Does a file inherit any meta information with it like last modified or who posted it or is this stuff based in the file system? Also, is using a salt frivolous since security in regards of rainbow table attack mean nothing to this and the hash could later be used as a checksum? One last thing, scalability? initially, it's only going to be used for small files a couple of megs big but eventually... Edit 1: The point of the hash is primarily to avoid file duplication, not to create obscurity.

I have a function. I pass to it an object with a list of questions and answers. I generate a random number from a range equal to the number of questions in the object. The script check to see if that question has been asked, and if not, it asks it, the correct answer is then passed to a variable correct. I want to give 4 possible answers, each one randomly selected from the list of possible answers. I have this. I just want to know what is the best way to ensure that the correct answer is placed in the list. So far, this is what I have: it puts four answers into four targeted boxes. memory usage in iOS

My app has a simple UI interface having simple buttons, date picker, picker view, table view, action sheet, toolbar, alert boxes etc. No images, no network access. Just plain simple UI. It accesses SQLite database a lot. ARC option is enabled. I have many questions to ask: In .h files, I am defining IBOutlets like @property(nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIButton *bt; Where do i need to do bt=nil? in didReceiveMemoryWarning or viewDidLoad Live Bytes in Instruments tool is 4-5MB. Is it enough or I need to reduce memory usage? If so, how can I do so? Please mention few important points. ORB forwards to a wrong location

I have an orbd started at a virtual host (with the IP A), with some remote object registered. Box that hosts virual boxes has IP B. When client tries to connect to the ORB at A to acquire the NamingContext, ORB replies with a LocationForward message poiniting to host B and port 1049 (like if another ORB would be started at that host). NamingContext is returned successfully, but obviously I'm not able to acqure the objects, registered at the NamingContext (at ORB hosted at A) by the name. Could anyone please explain what's happening? How can I access the orb hosted at A remotely? Thanks in advance.

Overlapping elements stop overlapping in IE7 on class change

On this page http://zenchan.com/program/ When I rollover the right box 2nd from the top suddenly the overlapping (negative margin disappears). What's happening is that a 'hover' class is being added to shift the background sprite. The two yellow boxes are debugging: if the hover class is put their in advance there is no problem. So fundamentally the CSS is not a problem for IE7 but adding the class is. Any ideas what's causing this. I've tried adding haslayout to various elements but to little effect.

How can I update only certain fields in a Django model form?

I have a model form that I use to update a model. class Turtle(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50, blank=False) description = models.TextField(blank=True) class TurtleForm(forms.ModelForm): class Meta: model = Turtle Sometimes I don't need to update the entire model, but only want to update one of the fields. So when I POST the form only has information for the description. When I do that the model never saves because it thinks that the name is being blanked out while my intent is that the name not change and just be used from the model. turtle_form = TurtleForm(request.POST, instance=object) if turtle_form.is_valid(): turtle_form.save() Is there any way to make this happen? drawbacks of storing all ''things' in a central table

Hi, I am not sure if there is a term to describe this, but I have observed that content management systems store all kinds of data in a single table with their bare minimum properties while the meta data is stored in another table in form of key value pairs. for eg. everything (blog posts, pages, images, events etc) is stored in one table and considered as a post. I understand that this allows for abstraction and easy extensibility we are considering designing our new project this way. It is not exactly a CMS but we plan to keep adding modules to it in stages. Lets say initially there will be only posts and images on which comments can be posted. Later on we might add videos which will also have the commenting feature. what are the drawbacks of this approach ? and will it work for a requirement like ours ? Thanks

For that i tried of calling a javascipt function when i click the checkbox. The javascript function contain code to display the textboxes. But it didn't work. Since I'm doing this project in struts, I don't know how to get check-box value. And calling of JavaScript function works. But didn't enter into jsp code in JavaScript function.

Maven: use dependencies from repository when running command line app ?

Hi, I've used Maven to build my command line application. Now I'm going to distribute it as a jar file, and I need to handle the app's dependencies. I don't want to include all dependencies in the jar file as described here. The environment where my app will be run has Maven. I'd like Maven to run my jar looking at file META-INF/groupId/artifactId/pom.xml inside the package so it knows what the dependencies are and can find them in the repository. Any ideas ?

Hi all..I have 2 dialog boxes in which I will display 1 dialogbox at a time..If I click NEXT in the first dialog box,I will hide the first dialog box and display the second dialog and vice versa...Now say If I move the dialog box after clicking NEXT in the first dialog..and when I click BACK(in the second dialog) ...it goes back to its previous position(to diaplay the first dialog box)..so I have decided to get the current window's position and update to the other window position so that it doesnt move even If I click next/back..I am not sure how to get the windows position and update to other..please help me if you guys know about this..

I want to write a python script that uses Diophantine equations to determine if a given number of McNuggets n can be exactly purchased in these groupings. WebView with NSShadow slowdown

I have a webview that shows some animated boxes, but it slows down and lags horribly when I put a drop shadow in the view. Without the shadow, the webview contents animate smoothly. I achieved a similar effect as safari/chrome when you do a elastic scroll with the touchpad. Looks nice! But doesnt run as smooth as in my inspirations. Conditional CellRenderCombo in pyGTK TreeView

I have a two column TreeView attached to a ListStore. Both columns are CellRenderCombo combo boxes. When the user selects an entry in the first box, I need to dynamically load a set of options in the second. For example, the behavior I want is: On row 0, the user selects "Alphabet" in the first column box. The second column box is populated with the letters "A-Z". On row 1, the user selects "Numbers" in the first column box. The second column box is populated with the numbers "0-9". On row 2, the user selects "Alphabet" in the first column box. The second column box is populated with the letters "A-Z". etc. Does anyone know how to do this, or seen any open source pygtk or gtk projects that have similar behavior which I can analyze?

I'm trying to use lxml cleaner to clean out a couple of html pages, so in the end i am just left with the text and nothing else - but try as i might, the above doesnt appear to work as such, i'm still left with a substial amount of markup (and it doesnt appear to be broken html), and particularly links, which aren't getting removed, despite the args i use in remove_tags and links=True any idea whats going on, perhaps im barking up the wrong tree with lxml ? i thought this was the way to go with html parsing in python?

Add code to html pages automatically

I need to add some code to the of several html contained in a folder on my desktop. How can i do that? I am using a prototyping tool (Axure) on Mac and I want to add some html meta tags to the generated pages. These pages can be overwritten every time I generate the prototype. What I need is a sort of script that I can launch after re-generating the prototype, to reinsert the code.
