  • How to share datastores between multiple exchange servers?

    I have an Exchange 2003 box that is seriously overstressed. I want to transfer its duties to a new and faster box. I don't cannot suffer downtime, so I have to do this stuff live. Here's what I plan to do: Install Exchange 2003 on the new server Set up the new server, so it will accept requests from users for their mailboxes I want to do as little manual set up as possible, because that 'll eat up my time and is too error prone Than I want to transfer my datastores one by one to the new server and have those users (once the datastore in the new server is up and running) to get their data from the new server (without them noticing) I don't have to transfer all the datastores, some of them need to stay on the old box (because I'm still waiting for extra HD space to arrive from the supplier) What steps do I need to follow to do this? The new box has never seen this domain before, the old exchange server is not the DC, we have a dedicated DC.

  • What's the best way to get a bunch of rows from MySQL if you have an array of integer primary keys?

    I have a MySQL table with an auto-incremented integer primary key. I want to get a bunch of rows from the table based on an array of integers I have in memory in my program. The array ranges from a handful to about 1000 items. What's the most efficient query syntax to get the rows? I can think of a few: "SELECT * FROM thetable WHERE id IN (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)" (this is what I do now) "SELECT * FROM thetable where id = 1 OR id = 2 OR id = 3" Multiple queries of the form "SELECT * FROM thetable WHERE id = 1". Probably the most friendly to the query cache, but expensive due to having lots of query parsing. A union, like "SELECT * FROM thetable WHERE id = 1 UNION SELECT * FROM thetable WHERE id = 2 ..." I'm not sure if MySQL caches the results of each query; it's also the most verbose format. I think using the NoSQL interface in MySQL 5.6+ would be the most efficient way to do this, but I'm not yet up to MySQL 5.6.

    Hi, Our MySQL server has been using a lot of CPU lately (it's reached 100% several times and stays there for a while) and I noticed that it the CPU load is all on one core of one cpu. I was hoping to spread that out to all 4 on my server. I have been tweaking the MySQL settings to use more ram and less cpu, but it still occasionally reaches very high CPU usage. It seems like everything about the topic refers to thread_concurrency (which I've read is a solaris only setting). What can I do in Linux? Thanks.

    Hi at all, I have some problem with multiple screen support, I work with dp(dpi) for specify the layout_heigth and layout_width and I hope that is the better way to support multiple screen, but when I tried with two smartphone I meet two different result.   • Upstart multiple instances of service not working.

    I started playing with MongoDB on Lucid. Now I would like to run a DB and Config server on the same box. They both use the same binary to launch, but with different config files and running on different ports. All directories for log and lib is split so one goes to mongodb and the other to mongoconf. Each process can be started without any problems on their own. start mongodb stop mongodb start mongoconf stop mongoconf But if I try to start both, the second one would just start and exit. Using 'initctl log-priority debug' I got the following in the logs. Jan 6 12:44:12 mongo4 init: event_finished: Finished started event Jan 6 12:44:12 mongo4 init: job_process_handler: Ignored event 1 (1) for process 5690 Jan 6 12:44:12 mongo4 init: mongoconf (mongoconf) main process (5690) terminated with status 1 Jan 6 12:44:12 mongo4 init: mongoconf (mongoconf) goal changed from start to stop Jan 6 12:44:12 mongo4 init: mongoconf (mongoconf) state changed from running to stopping man 5 init shows that you can use instance names to differentiate the two. I tried using 'instance mongoconf' in the on upstart script and 'instance mongodb' in the other one, and it still fails. I can manually start the other process, so there is definitely no conflicts on port numbers or directories. Any ideas on what to try or how to get output on why it is 'terminated with status 1'?     i have one exchange server 2010, which is working fine with one domain. my exchange is working as follows pop3 collector collect emails from one master catchall account and then deliver to exchange server, this working perfect. now what i want to add another domain to same exchange, i have added new domain as trusted domain & email policy and this new domain email account works fine with internal emails. now what i have done, i again forward new email account to same catchall account. but if i send email from any other external email address email is bounce, i can see email receive by pop3 collector but bounce by exchange server. to make you more clear let me explain logic on which i am working. i have 2 domains 1. domain1.com ([email protected]) 2. domain2.com ([email protected] -->[email protected]) now on my machine with exchange server i have pop3 collector which collect all emails from [email protected] and forward to exchange 2010 server. all emails to domain1.com is working perfect but when i send email to [email protected] this email redirect to [email protected] perfectly but when exchanger server receive this email, it bounce. i have also study the url link text and follow the whole process but no success. i also check that my DNS/MX is working fine as the bounce message is going from my exchange server. EDIT the only problem is with accepted domain, as email come to exchange server then bounce back. i just try this today i create one user called test, then i goto his properties -- email there was only one email account [email protected] i try to send email to [email protected] from internet (email bounce) then again i go to test user properties -- email and Add one email [email protected] again u try to send email to t*[email protected]* from internet (email received) i think the only problem is with accepted domain but in hub transport , it shows accepted is there any way to check does domain is properly accepted or not in exchange 2010 server.     I've large number of files, over 10,000, which I want to upload in FTP server. Now, I can't zip those files & upload it as I've to read those files individually in SAS software for my analysis. If I use mput commant, then the prompt as me to say "y" eact time it tries to upload the file. This is very cumbersome. Is there any method by which it automatically upload the files without I've to manually entering "y" each time file wants to upload. The command I was using was: ftp ftp.myftp.com *my ftp server name username:myusername password:mypassword ftp> lcd c:\local_folder ftp> mput *.*

    Can someone please help with trying to use mod rewrite so foo.domain.com is rewritten to domain.com/p.php?s=foo and foo.domain.com/bar to domain.com/p.php?s=foo&p=bar? Currently my .htaccess is: RewriteEngine On # Remove www RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L] # Rewrite subdomain etc. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(.*)\.domain\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/?$ p.php?s=%1&p=$2 [QSA,L,NC] But I can't work out how to grab the second variable (being optional and after a slash at the end of the URI. I've tried changing the end of the condition to ?/(.*)$, but to no avail and my mod rewrite skills are certainly naff!

  • when to use Hibernate vs. Simple ResultSets for small application

    I just started working on upgrading a small component in a distributed java application. The main application is a rather complicated applet/servlet combo running on JBoss and it extensively uses Hibernate for its DataAccess. The component i am working on however is very a very straightforward data importing service. Basically the workflow is Listen for a network event Parse the data packet, extract a set of identifiers Map the identifier set to a primary key in our database Parse the rest of the packet and insert items in a related table using the foreign key found in step 3 Repeat in the previous version of this component it used a hibernate based DAL, that is no longer usable for a variety of reasons (in particular it is EOL), so I am in charge of replacing the Data Access layer for this component. So on the one hand I think i should use Hibernate because that's what the rest of the application does, but on the other i think i should just use regular java.sql.* classes because my requirements are really straightforward and aren't expected to change any time soon. So my question is (and i understand it is subjective) at what point do you think that the added complexity of using an ORM tool (in terms of configuration, dependencies...) is worth it? UPDATE due to the way the DataAccesLayer for the main application was written (weird dependencies) i cannot easily use it, i would have to implement it myself.

    After googeling for ages, and reading some stuff about async task in books. I made a my first program with an async task in it. Only to find out, that i can only start one task. I want to run the task more then once. This is where i found out that that doesn't seem to work. to be a little bit clearer, here are some parts of my code: InitFunction(var); This is the Task itself public async Task InitFunction(string var) { _VarHandle = await _AdsClient.GetSymhandleByNameAsync(var); _Data = await _AdsClient.ReadAsync<T>(_VarHandle); _AdsClient.AddNotificationAsync<T>(_VarHandle, AdsTransmissionMode.OnChange, 1000, this); } This works like a charm when i execute the task only once.. But is there a possibility to run it multiple times. Something like this? InitFunction(var1); InitFunction(var2); InitFunction(var3); Because if i do this now (multiple tasks at once), the task it wants to start is still running, and it throws an exeption. if someone could help me with this, that would be awesome! ~ Bart

I used one of the addresses and I tried testing the proxy at http://ipv6-test.com/ but it detected that is using the first ipv6 adddress instead of the certain ipv6 address that I provided. Example I used 2607:f358:0001:fed5:0022:772f:6ed3:7f3c as my proxy but it detected as 2607:f358:0001:fed5:0022:0000:db61:85e1 . Why is it doing that? The proxy server I am using is polipo

Machine A is your personal computer that you use whenever you're at home. Machine B is the head node of an HPC cluster and all the other machines C are all identically configured machines which share the home directories of machine B. This is an HPC cluster if you haven't guessed. How would I configure passwordless ssh between any nodes B or C. A can only get to C through sshing into B

I'd like to setup server on dedicated mail domain for it. Is there any software that helps to get my aim (Linux)? My current config to connect to another servers is using different port to connect. e.g ssh -D 1080 -p 22 [email protected] ssh -D 1081 -p 22 [email protected] Now what I would like to have to share the same port from the same box. ssh -D 1080 -p 22 [email protected] ssh -D 1080 -p 22 [email protected] But when I share it, I will get below error: bind: Address already in use channel_setup_fwd_listener: cannot listen to port: 1080 Could not request local forwarding. How could I configure the same port? help. thank you. I want to share the same port because this is needed when configuring firewall in Citrix Firewall on other machine, not needed to many many ports and keep changing when changing connection. thank you.

    I'm looking for a remote desktop product that will allow me to switch on the fly between how many monitors the desktop is using. This would be going from one Windows 7 machine to another, one is running Ultimate, the other Enterprise. I know I can use Windows RDP with multi-monitor support, but it seems that only allows me to use ALL monitors, and if I switch to a windowed view, I get huge scrollbars because I'm going from 3 monitors to 1 window. What I'm looking for is something that will allow me to switch from 1, 2, or 3 monitor displays without restarting the RDP and would end up with a true 1/2/3 display - ie, if I go from 3 monitors to 1, or a window, I don't get scrollbars. Is there any such product?

    I have a Linux server with 2 1Gb network interfaces eth1 and eth2. If I start 2 clients listening to the same multicast address and each client connects through a different NIC (say client 1 listens to the multicast through eth1 and client 2 through eth2), then client 2 gets duplicate UDP packets. If both clients use the same interface eth1 on the other hand, both clients work fine. I have already tried to set arp_filter and proxy_arp to 1 (arp flux issue) but it hasn't solved the issue. Is this a Linux kernel problem? Or is there another way to setup the interfaces correctly?

    I'm using the ExtJS framework which has a bulk of js and css files that are used for all apps. I intend to share these between a number of web applications (different war files). For this reason I would like to serve ExtJS js and css directly from the web server, in my case Tomcat6, which can be used to serve static files, as in this helpful link. Therefore I put my files under /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/ROOT/extjs/. The static files that are directly under that directory are served correctly, e.g. /extjs/ext.js correctly serves the file at /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/ROOT/extjs/ext.js. However files in lower-level directories, for example /extjs/welcome/css/welcome.css, which should serve the file at /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/ROOT/extjs/welcome/css/welcome.css, return a 404. TL/DR Tomcat serves static files only at top-level directory. A 404 is returned for files deeper in the hierarchy. Config file contents: server.xml application's web.xml

    I would like to be able to run similar tasks on several computers that must be precisely synced. More specifically I need 4 laptops to be synced, probably over local network, and I need to use one of them to start a task (play a video) on all of them at the same time (different video files on different laptops). All of them are running Windows. Is there a third-party software or any easier way to do so over LAN without significant delay? I need virtually no response time - if there would be a single video streaming on all laptops then people should not recognize the delay.

  • Creating multiple instances of a generic database

    Hi all, currently I'm trying to have a setup where a generic database is distributed to students. They would develop an application using this database (Say a shopping cart application), submit their project onto our server, and then it would be graded automatically. These databases are being run in Microsoft SQL Server 2005. We're using user instances to instantiate each database, and multiple requests could be serviced at once. But, the problem is when more than one student submitted a project to be graded, the first database to be instantiated would be the only one and would overwrite all other copies that were currently open. So if stu1 modified his database and stu2 and stu3 had their projects being graded concurrently, at the end of the grading stu1, stu2, and stu3 would have identical DB's at the end. Is there any way I can have multiple independent copies of a generic database, each of which I can load concurrently and modify without having any changes made to any one affecting the others? I did a little reading, and thought it might be possible to do something along the lines of: Student submits project Attach the database with unique db name (specified by student) Do all necessary operations Detach the database I'm unsure if this would fix our problem or be possible, so any help would be much appreciated!

    In Notepad++, is it possible to force all (or at least the 3 or 4 deepest) pairs of braces/brackets/parens/etc. that enclose the cursor to become highlighted? Preferably in different colors for each matched pair? For instance, in this example: int main(char** args) { if(blah) { ... } } If we place the cursor anywhere in the if-block, the main function's opening and closing braces should become one color, while the if-block's braces become another. The coloring for each block should stay the same as long the cursor is still in that block.
