  Hi all I have a class Question which has a property Text public class Question { public string Text { get; set; } } Now I wont create on object of this type by giving value to property. I can do that in this two ways: Question q = new Question { Text = "Some question" }; and Question q = new Question() { Text = "Some question" }; Is there any difference between this two cases and if they are the same, why we need both? • Vague MVC and Castle Windsor question. Sorry...

  I have inheritted some code in which the MVC Controller classes all get their constructors called by Castle....DefaultProxyFactory.Create() somewhere along the line (the call stack drops out to the , which isn't helping.) So, basically, how would I go about finding out where Castle is being told how to call the constructors of my Controllers? I am very new to Castle, Windsor and MicroKernel, etc, and not a master of ASP's MVC. Many thanks for any pointers - sorry about the vagueness, Matt.

  I have conditional logic that requires pre-processing that is common to each of the conditions (instantiating objects, database lookups etc). I can think of 3 possible ways to do this, but each has a flaw: Option 1 if A prepare processing do A logic else if B prepare processing do B logic else if C prepare processing do C logic // else do nothing end The flaw with option 1 is that the expensive code is redundant. Option 2 prepare processing // not necessary unless A, B, or C if A do A logic else if B do B logic else if C do C logic // else do nothing end The flaw with option 2 is that the expensive code runs even when neither A, B or C is true Option 3 if (A, B, or C) prepare processing end if A do A logic else if B do B logic else if C do C logic end The flaw with option 3 is that the conditions for A, B, C are being evaluated twice. The evaluation is also costly. Now that I think about it, there is a variant of option 3 that I call option 4: Option 4 if (A, B, or C) prepare processing if A set D else if B set E else if C set F end end if D do A logic else if E do B logic else if F do C logic end While this does address the costly evaluations of A, B, and C, it makes the whole thing more ugly and I don't like it. How would you rank the options, and are there any others that I am not seeing?

• OpenGL ES clarifying question regarding FBOs -- sorry can't find this info anywhere else?

  If I instantiate an FBO without binding a rendering buffer or a texture to it, what happens when I draw to it, nothing? Do I need to associate a rendering target (renderbuffer or texture) to have an FBO do anything? What I'm trying to do is precache some buffers and then merge them later, but that doesn't seem to work at all.   hi I was wondering if it was possible to put balanced chemical equations, and if possible including state symbols, in the existing netlogo model that i am using, i havenot seen any examples in the models library so was not sure if it was possible.   A few .rpmnew files are being created after performing an upgrade of the Fedora OS. The normal procedure for merging .rpmnew files into the original ones is to compare the differences, make the necessary changes to the configuration on the .rpmnew files, and replace the original files with the new ones. However, the files contained in /etc/pam.d are links to files with same the filename appended with -ac, example: password-auth links to password-auth-ac and has password-auth.rpmnew as upgrade. How do I go about merging these files?

• Fix for php 5.3.9 libxsl security "bug" fix

  just this morning i updated my debian server to php 5.3.9 , change log (last item in list) has a fix for this bug and now when running any hosted site using XSL transforms i get: Warning: XSLTProcessor::transformToXml(): Can't set libxslt security properties, not doing transformation for security reasons I'm not using any <sax:output> tags in my xslt at all. Does anybody have any information on this, current chatter about it is thin, so i'm i little lost. Using the suggestion about switching ini settings on and off either side of -transformToXml(): ini_set("xsl.security_prefs", XSL_SECPREFS_NONE) or $xsl->setSecurityPreferences(XSL_SECPREFS_NONE) brings me back to the same error Many thanks. Progress: - Upgrading libxml and recompiling libxslt against the new version was a good suggestion, though has not fixed the issue. - Compiling the latest php5.3 snapshot does not fix the issue. Solution: I'm unsure what actually solved this, very sorry for anyone else having the same problem. firstly i upgraded libxml, then applied a few patches, then went into php source for the xsl parser and added some debugging and a few tweaks, after a few compiles getting the configure args right the error went away and wasn't reproducible. I would definitely recommend upgrading libxml as Petr suggested below and then grabbing the latest snapshot from php.net.

  I've noticed that on some websites (including SO) the link to the CSS will look like: <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://sstatic.net/so/all.css?v=6638"> I would say its safe to assume that ?v=6638 tells the browser to load version 6638 of the css file. But can I do this on my websites and can I include different versions of my CSS file just by changing the numbers?

  I scraped a bunch of pages using wget -m -k -E. The resulting files have names in the form foo.php?bar.html. Apache guesses everything after the ? is a query string, is there a way to tell it to ignore the ? as the query string delimiter (and see foo.php?bar.html as the requested file and not foo.php)? To save you a trip to wget manpage: -m : mirror recursively -E : foo.php?bar becomes foo.php?bar.html -k : convert links in pages (foo.php?bar now links to foo.php?bar.html inside of all the pages so they display properly)

• GDB question - how do I go through disassembled code line by line?

  I'd like to go through a binary file my teacher gave me line by line to check addresses on the stack and the contents of different registers, but I'm not extremely familiar with using gdb. Although I have the C code, we're supposed to work entirely from a binary file. Here are the commands I've used so far: (gdb) file SomeCode Which gives me this message: Reading symbols from ../overflow/SomeCode ...(no debugging symbols found)...done. Then I use : (gdb) disas main which gives me all of the assembly. I wanted to set up a break point and use the "next" command, but none of the commands I tried work. Does anyone know the syntax I would use?

(for VS2008) if no then can I ask please: Q2 - My winforms checks for existance of a sqlite.db3 file and creates it if it needs to (programmatically). If the behavior I wanted was that each Compile/Debug I do is for the target Debug area to be clear, so that the program would exercise the code that builds the database file, how would I organise this? thanks
