  • Module Adminhtml blocks not loading

    I was working on a Magento module and it was working fine. At some point, I was trying to enable WYSIWYG in an edit form 'content' field and suddenly, my adminhtml grid and edit blocks stopped being generated. On my system are TinyMCE and Fontis FCKEditor WYSIWYG editors extensions. I'm not sure what I did wrong but my adminhtml blocks will no longer generate.     I'm new to powershell. I'm trying to write an error handler to wrap around my script.  Part of the error handler is dumping out some variable settings.  I spent a while trying to do this and couldn't google a complete solution so I thought I'd post something. I want to display the $myinvocation variable.     I need to find the non-ASCII characters from a UTF-8 string. my understanding: UTF-8 is a superset of character encoding in which 0-127 are ascii characters. So if in a UTF-8 string , a characters value is Not between 0-127, then it is not a ascii character , right? Please correct me if i'm wrong here. Correct answer for the xvab c is 1 ...i.e it has only 1 non-ascii character , but in above output it is coming as 3 (times Not ascii character). How can i find the non-ascii character from UTF-8 string, correctly. Please guide on the subject.

  • Which full-text search package should I use for SQLite3?

    SQLite3 appears to come with three different full-text search engines, called FTS1, FTS2, and FTS3. The documentation available on the website mentions that FTS1 is stable, FTS2 is in development, and that you should use FTS2. Examples I find online use FTS3, which is in CVS, and not documented versus FTS2. None of the full-text search engines come with the amalgamated source, as near as I can tell. So, my question: which of these three engines, if any, should I use for full-text indexing in SQLite? Or should I simply use a third-party tool like Sphinx, or a custom solution in Lucene, instead?

  • How to structure a multilingual website for search engines?

    I have this website which decides on the display language by a GET parameter. http://www.mysite.com/index.php?page=home&locale=en which is rewritten as http://www.mysite.com/en/home When no language is specified, the system defaults to English (en). Now how do I tell the search engines that many versions of the website exist? When the search bot enters the site, it will trigger the default English Language and after finishing, will just leave the site without considering other languages. I can very well have a sitemap with links to the default pages of each language, so the bot can navigate from there. But how do I say the bot that the entry in the sitemap is the home page for that language? Like if someone searches for 'mi sitio', they should be presented with the result http://www.mysite.com/es/home and not some other internal page. Any light on this? Thanks.

I want to search and replace multiple values in a table column. I can individually do this but how can I do this faster is there a mysql function to help me with this. I have about 120 columns with 200 search and replace/update values for each column. Thanks.

    I'm doing a typical full text search using containstable using 'ISABOUT(term1,term2,term3)' and although it supports term weighting that's not what I need. I need the ability to boost the relevancy of terms contained in certain portions of text. For example, it is customary for metatags or page title to be weighted differently than body text when searching web pages. Although I'm not dealing with web pages I do seek the same functionality. In Lucene it's called Document Field Level Boosting. How would one natively do this in Sql Server Full Text Search?

    I am trying to search the "this" object in an ASP.NET MVC 2 for a string value. In a view, I set the partial view input tag prefix and am trying to figure out how to reference it in the partial view itself. For example: Html.EditorFor(m => m, "templateName", "fieldPrefix"); In the partial view, I would like to search the "this" object for my fieldPrefix string to see where the MVC folks decided to store it.     Hi I know that as3 has some powerful new text search capabilities, especially when combined with regex. I don't even know if this is possible, but I would like to somehow, search any block of text, and return all nouns, adjectives and verbs. What would be the best(most efficent) way to do this? Is regex an option? or would I have to load in some sort of open sourced dictionary 9as used in spellcheckers) to compare with or?? After, I've pulled all the nouns, adjectives and verbs, I need to count and prioritize by their frequency. Any suggestions welcome...

We need something that would crawl Internet websites by specific rules we set (for ex. country domains) and gather URLs, Texts, keywords, name of websites and create our own internal catalogue so we wouldn't be limited to any massive external search engine like Google or Yahoo. Is there any free open source solution we could use to install it on our server? No point in re-inventing the wheel.

    I have a winform which is responsible for doing a search by some conditions that users enters and then selects the records from a Database. The search form has a data grid view which shows the result. After searching, user clikcs on a row of the datagridview and then another form (for example frmShowDetails) will be displayed. My question is when displaying frmShowDetails, what are your suggestions to send the id of selected row to frmShowDetails in order to feed it to show data in .net? Do you use form property or a private mariable which sets by only form constructor? Thank you

  • Use Python to search one .txt file for a list of words or phrases (and show the context)

    Basically as the question states. I am fairly new to Python and like to learn by seeing and doing. I would like to create a script that searches through a text document (say the text copied and pasted from a news article for example) for certain words or phrases. Ideally, the list of words and phrases would be stored in a separate file. When getting the results, it would be great to get the context of the results. So maybe it could print out the 50 characters in the text file before and after each search term that has been found. It'd be cool if it also showed what line the search term was found on. Any pointers on how to code this, or even code examples would be much appreciated.

    I created class Word. Word has a constructor that takes a string argument and one method getSubstrings which returns a String containing all substring of word, sorted by length. For example, if the user provides the input "rum", the method returns a string that will print like this: r u m ru um rum I want to concatenate the substrings in a String, separating them with a newline ("\n"). Then return the string. Code: public class Word { String word; public Word(String word) { this.word = word; } /** * Gets all the substrings of this Word. * @return all substrings of this Word separated by newline */ public String getSubstrings() { String str = ""; int i, j; for (i = 0; i < word.length(); i++) { for (j = 0; j < word.length(); j++) { str = word.substring(i, i + j); str += "\n"; } } return str; } But it throws exception: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -1 at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1911) I stuck at this point.   • XSLT multiple string replacement with recursion

    I have been attempting to perform multiple (different) string replacement with recursion and I have hit a roadblock. I have sucessfully gotten the first replacement to work, but the subsequent replacements never fire. I know this has to do with the recursion and how the with-param string is passed back into the call-template. I see my error and why the next xsl:when never fires, but I just cant seem to figure out exactly how to pass the complete modified string from the first xsl:when to the second xsl:when. ShowMessage just shows text as it was entered in Edit1. What have I done wrong?

Please don't flame me too much! :-) I'm getting a string similar to the following back from the database: The object of the following is to do: * blah 1 * blah 2 * blah 3 * blah 4. Some more extremely uninteresting text. Followed by yet another sentence full of extrememly uninteresting text. Thankfully this is the last sentence. I need to format this so that each * represents a bullet point, and the sentence after the last * goes onto a new line, ideally as follows: The object of the following is to do: blah 1 (StackOverflow wants to add bullet points here, but I just need '*') blah 2 blah 3 blah 4. Some more extremely uninteresting text. Followed by yet another sentence full of extrememly uninteresting text. Thankfully this is the last sentence. It's easy enough to split the string by the * character and replace that with <br /> *. I'm using the following for that: string description = GetDescription(); description = description.Replace("*", "<br />*"); // it's going onto a web page. but the result this gives me is: The object of the following is to do: blah 1 blah 2 blah 3 blah 4. Some more extremely uninteresting text. Followed by yet another sentence full of extrememly uninteresting text. Thankfully this is the last sentence. I'm having a bit of difficulty identifying the fist sentence after the last '*' so I can put a break there too. Can somebody show me how to do this?

    I have a Winforms app that I am developing in C# that will serve as a frontend for a SQL Server 2005 database. I rolled the executable out to a test machine and ran it. It worked perfectly fine on the test machine up until the last round of changes that I made. I defined the connection string in it: <connectionStrings> <add name="conString" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" connectionString="Data Source = SHAREPOINT;Trusted_Connection = yes;database = CustomerDatabase;connection timeout = 15" /> </connectionStrings> I then created a static string that would return the conString: public static string GetConnectionString(string conName) { string strReturn = string.Empty; if (!(string.IsNullOrEmpty(conName))) { strReturn = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings[conName].ConnectionString; } else { strReturn = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["conString"].ConnectionString; } return strReturn; } I removed the conString variable and now call the connection string like so: PublicMethods.GetConnectionString("conString").ToString() It appears that this is giving me the error. I changed these instances to directly call the connection string from App.config without using GetConnectionString. For instance, in a SQLConnection: using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["conString"].ConnectionString)) This also threw the exception. However, when I went back to using the conString variable on each form, I had no issues. What I don't understand is why all three methods work fine on my development machine, while using the App.config directly or via the static string I created throw exceptions.

  • Bing brings Twitter aggregation to search results

    I read with interest today a post on the Bing blog Get the Latest on Twitter with Bing Social Search which describes how tweets are soon going to show up in Bing search results. On the surface that isn’t very interesting, Google has been doing this for a while, but of particular interest to myself was the following screenshot: We can see at the bottom of a search result for “TMZ” that Bing is showing us the most popular TMZ stories as determined by the number of tweets that contain links to them. This is great. Bing are applying a principle that those of us in the Business Intelligence (BI) trade have known for ages: a piece of data in isolation is not very interesting but when you aggregate a lot of that data you find the trends that actually matter and when you surface that data in a meaningful way then people can derive real value from it. That sounds obvious but this new Bing feature is the first time I have seen the principle applied in a useful way to tweets and I applaud them for that; its certainly a lot more useful than the pointless constant tweet scroll that you see on Google.     Wall Street Journal publishes very informative articles and most of them are available for paid subscribers. But it is very easy to defeat the pay wall of Wall Street Journal and read the articles for free with the help of Google. The trick is to Google for Wall Street Journal article and click the link displayed on search results to read the article for free. It’s very simple and easy if you are using Google Chrome browser, but it should be straight forward in Firefox and Internet Explorer. Here is a walk through of unlocking today’s Wall Street Journal paid article   1. When you are on online.wsj.com, select the title of subscribers only article you want to read 2. Right on the selected title and choose the option Search Google for “<article title>” 3. Locate the WSJ article on Google search results and click on the article link   4. Boom! You got full access to the article and enjoy reading it for free.   I’ve been using this trick for a while from US to access WSJ articles for free. Most likely this should work for users located outside USA as well.

  • How do I get google to see keywords on a one page web application site?

    I'm going to have to link to the web site to explain this, http://www.diagram.ly, it's a free service, so I hope this doesn't break advertising rules. Basically, it's a one page web application, I don't want to create a web site for it. Some background text loads and if JavaScript is enabled, the web application itself then loads. The problem is that Google only seems to be picking up the title of the page and the text on the footer, so the site only appear on Google search for very limited text (based on the title and meta description mostly). I was hoping that search engines would pick up on the background text and index that. The text is factual, not keyword stuffed. Yahoo seems to pick up the text, just not Google. Does anyone have any experience of how Google would view such a site and where I could put the text for a better result? Edit I should mention that Google Webmaster Tools lists the site keywords as "Component, diagramly, feed, mxgraph, share and twitter". Basically the footer and little else.
