• iPhone SDK: Check validity of URLs with NSURL not working??

  hi, I'm trying to check if a given URL is valid and i'm doing it like this: - (BOOL)urlIsValid:(NSString *)address { NSURL *testURL = [NSURL URLWithString:address]; if (testURL == nil) { return NO; } else { return YES; } } Since "URLWithString" is supposed to return "nil" if the URL is malformed I thought this would work but it doesn't for some reason. Could someone please tell me why? Thanks in advance!

But the problem is that we have paths which are generated by Url helper (Url.Content()). So what is the best way to separate js file from the page and not using hard-coded path strings?

• PHP mysql - ...AND column='anything'... ?

  Is there any way to check if a column is "anything"? The reason is that i have a searchfunction that get's an ID from the URL, and then it passes it through the sql algorithm and shows the result. But if that URL "function" (?) isn't filled in, it just searches for: ...AND column=''... and that doesn't return any results at all. I've tried using a "%", but that doesn't do anything. Any ideas?

• Can I suppress or enforce URLs to be prefaced with http:// in ALL browsers?

  I want to ensure that regardless of what browser a user is in, they all see the EXACT same characters in the URL bar. Most browsers show the preceding protocol type in the URL bar. However, Chrome for example truncates http:// (not sure about https) and starts with the domain name, ie: Chrome: stackoverflow.com/questions/ask Safari: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask So, is there a way to either suppress the http:// in all browsers, or even enforce it in all browsers? Preferably suppress.

Unfortuneatly the URL is in the form of a PHP script i.e. www.website.com/generatefilename.php?file=5233 If you visit the link in a browser, you are prompted to download the actual file and extension. I need to send this link to the downloader, but I can't send the downloader the PHP link. How would I get the full file name in a usable variable?

• Getting hp-snmp-agents on HP ProLiant DL360 on Lenny working

  After receiving our HP ProLiant DL360 I'd like to integrate the machine into our Munin system and thus enable ProLiant specific information to be exposed via SNMP. I'm running Debian Lenny with kernel 2.6.26-2-vserver-amd64 . I've followed http://downloads.linux.hp.com/SDR/getting_started.html and the HP repository has been added to /etc/apt/sources.list.d/HP-ProLiantSupportPack.list . Setting up Lenny SNMP itself is not a problem, I configure it to have a public v1 community string to read all data and it works. I install hp-snmp-agents and run hpsnmpconfig and it adds additional lines to the top of /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf : dlmod cmaX /usr/lib64/libcmaX64.so snmpd gets restarted. Via lsof I can see that libcmaX64 was loaded and is used by snmpd, put I do not get any additional information out of snmp. I use snmpwalk -v 1 -c public ... and I can see many OIDs but I do not see the new ones I'd expect, most notably temperatures, fan speed and such.   Hi Got this kind of noob question i suppose. I got this very basic network setup and need help to set up some address forwarding. As seen in my illustration below all traffic enters via the eth0 interface (85.123.32.23). The external dns is setup to direct all hosts to this ip as well. Now, how on earth do I filter the incoming requests to each box? The Ip's are static! Se the network layout here: http://vyatta.org/files/u11160/setup.png I do not wish to solve this by assigning tons of ports etc. In my wishful thinking something like this would be nice :) set service nat rule 10 type destination set service nat rule 10 inbound-interface eth0 set service nat rule 10 destination address ftp.myhost.com set service nat rule 10 inside-address address 192.168.100.20 This way ALL traffic to the address ftp.myhost.com (at eth0) should be routed to the internal ip, 192.168.100.20. Right, is there anyone who could point in some direction? Maybe it's wrong to use nat? Please help me! :)

• rr.com appended to URL and I don't know why

  I've been having some pretty bad and intermittent internet connectivity issues. I keep getting timeouts on my browsers, or what appears to be timeouts on my browsers. In Chrome it's generally error 21. FF it times out. And so on. While this is happening, I can go into the command line and ping or traceroute the same domain and it works fine. I use my cellphone on the same network and it's fine connecting to the same domain. And when it fails, it's all domains that are down in all browsers, chrome, FF, etc. I also noticed that when I try to connect to 192.168.1.1 it says in chrome did you mean www.192.168.1.1rr.com but when I enter https://192.168.1.1 it's fine. It only seems to do this in Chrome. This is making me think I have a virus. I did some researching about something called road runner, but I can't find any related traces. I also ran a full virus scan using nod32 (eset) and nothing. Any suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated. The intermittent loss of total internet access is really annoying and I'm worried about why it's trying to append the rr.com domain in Chrome. I suspect I'm dealing with two different issues, but you never know. Also for the DNS I'm using Google's DNS servers, the famous 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4

  Are there any good web server log analysis tools that can provide me with daily statistics on individual URLs? I guess I'm looking at something that can drill down into particular URLs and on particular days rather than just a monthly summary report. The following don't seem to meet my needs as they don't offer drilling down to get more detailed info: awstats analog webalizer (I'm running an nginx frontend into Apache with nginx outputting 'combined' format logfiles if it makes any difference.)

  hi there, i know that this has been answered many many times, so if someone wants to point me to another thread that answers my question specifically, that is fine... for right now, my searches aren't yielding many results. so i have a website like mysite.com that has a flash swf embedded in it and i go to www.mysite.com ... all of the sudden, things don't work properly. i would like to get to the bottom of this, because it's not like the page just "doesn't load" at all; it loads and i can only do certain things; as if certain functionality is disabled (might be url requests for specific urls etc). do i need to manage this in my control panel? i wouldn't assume so, because the site loads; just has a crippled functionality from within the swf. i was thinking it might have more to do with my crossdomain.xml file; could this be the case? thanks for any tips or suggestions.

  I have developed an ASP.NET website and deployed into my IIS server. Now to see that my IIS is installed fine, I type local host in my address bar, and I get the welcome screen of IIS and its documentation in a separate window. Now I gave the url of my website http://localhost/mysites/site2/Default.aspx I access my site. Also giving my IP address instead of local host like: http://192.168.1.46/mysites/site2/Default.aspx also works. Just out of curiosity I wanted to see what happens when I give my IP address in addressbar. It asks me a user name and password saying:The server 192.168.1.46:80 requires a user name and password. I donot know what user name and password it is asking, and as of my knowledge I thought localhost points to my own IP address internally. But what is the difference and also what username and password do I need for it? Update: On chrome and IE just giving localhost displays the welcome screen, but on mozilla, localhost is also asking for a username and password.

  I just changed over my modem to bridged mode, and changed my wireless router to PPPoE. My PC IP address is reserved and forwards port 80 to my computer's IP address based on my MAC address. I have a problem, however. I cannot access my local webserver by public IP address or my router 192.168.0.1 wirelessly from any other computer or iPad. I can, however, connect by this PC which is connected to the wireless router via ethernet. Via wireless, it says it cannot connect, however DNS addresses work (e.g. google.com, etc.) Any ideas?

• SVN Checkout URL - fresh install

  I just setup SVN on a server that is running Ubuntu server as a fresh install. I've got it up and running but am having difficult determining how to connect to it. I'm trying to do an import using the local IP address: http://IP/RepositoryName but it's saying it can't resolve the IP. I'm wondering if there's something on the server I need to setup. I have not modified dav_svn.conf because there is another server here that is running SVN (I'm migrating it to a new server) and it's dav_svn.conf is not modified. The current working SVN has a subdomain associated with the IP location of the server but doesn't do anything special with the ports as far as I can tell. I'm getting this error via RapidSVN when I try to import... Error: Error while performing action: OPTIONS of 'http://IP/RepositoryName': could not connect to server (http://IP) Any help would be appreciated
