  I'm trying to setup Chiliproject (a ruby application for project management) I have setup my Apache already. However I want the Chiliproject to be like http://abc.com/Chiliproject as I want the abc.com to be used for other application. Following is my Chiliproject vhost setting: ServerName abc.com DocumentRoot /var/www/chiliproject/public Alias /chiliproject /var/www/chiliproject/public Options -MultiViews AllowOverride all When I go to abc.com, the Chiliproject page will appear but when I go to abc.com/chiliproject, I will reach the 404 page not found instead. If I change the DocumentRoot to /var/www, the page abc.com will be what I want, but the abc.com/chiliproject will comes to the 'Directory view' of my page.

  I have a site www.example.com running on a hosting company. Now I want to create a separate web app on my VPS and let it accessible via app.example.com How can I set the DNS to redirect app.example.com to my VPS' ip address? CNAME or A Record? Also, If I want to do a mail server on my VPS too, how to setup the DNS? EDIT: Existing site: www.example.com Location: some hosting company that I don't control. It's running PHP with nginx I guess (or aphache) New site (that I'm working on): app.example.com Location: my VPS, it has an IP address, the VPS is running nodejs. It can run along with nginx but currently it's not. I want the existing website continue working (as customer visit www.example.com) and I want customer to visit app.example.com for some new features. The two websites are NOT on the same server and not using the same IP address.

  The following works because I inserted the exact filename: wget --referer=http://www.*****.com --cookies=on --load-cookies=cookie.txt --keep-session-cookies --save-cookies=cookie.txt http://www.*****.com/doc/GG-15252252.html But if I just do it with the doc dir I will get a 403 error message: Connecting to www.*****.com|***.**.***.**|:**... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 Forbidden 2010-11-04 21:25:38 ERROR 403: Forbidden. So I can't list the dir, what can I do? Please help anybody and thanks :)!!

• Virtual Hosts Not Working (12.10)

  I'm trying to get virtual hosts up and running on my Ubuntu laptop that has 12.10 installed. I'm running Apache2, and I enabled the virtual hosting module. When I go to 12.0.0.1, I'm able to get the default page. When I go to example.local, I just get the search engine results, instead of the "hey, you're seeing this" page I set up in that directory (/var/www/example.local). I even made sure I have only one "NameVirtualHost *:80" variable active. • Effectively managing crontab

  My crontab looks something like this; 1 * * * * /var/www/cron/site1.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 0 * * * * /var/www/cron/site2.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 3 * * * * /var/www/cron/site3.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 This works great and lets me place all the nasty little script calls into one place, rather than making crontab harder to read than it already is. But, this fails massively when site2.sh needs one script to run once a day, another to run once a week and another to run every 5 minutes. And of course it gets worse as new scripts get added with different timings. Is there a better way? EDIT By better I mean making it more manageable, having a large crontab is not manageable, but neither is having scripts all over the place. Not a GUI necessarily.

• Why is this server redirecting to another page???

  I am building a site for a client. For a reason unknown to me www.domain.com forwards to www.domain.com/directory/home.html. If i type www.domain.com/index.php it works correctly. I have checked .htaccess there was nothing there, so I set the index to index.php which works fine in every directory other than the root directory. I have root access and have checked the httpd.conf (did a search in VI for the document that I was being redirected to) and anything else I could think of. Where should I look next? The server is a VPS running CentOS 5.5 with multiple domains, has CPanel WHM 11 for root access and CPanel X installed for each domain.

• Flex Error: Repeater is not executing.

  Hello Everyone, I have been trying to get a Repeater to work since yesterday. It works the first time it has been loaded with data but the second time, it is loaded, the following error results with the debugger higlighting a row with the statement isHandlingEvent = false; in the watcherFired method of the Binding class. I thought by using the namespaces array I could handle that issue but its not working. • Ad Server does not serve ads in Firefox, but works fine in Chrome, IE, & Safari!?

  I'm having a strange (likely JavaScript) related issue. I'm running Open X Ad Server ( http://www.openx.org ) which serves ads to the website http://upsidedowndogs.com . The ads load fine every time when visiting the site via Chrome, IE, or Safari, but sometimes don't load at all in FireFox - Hence, it is a client side issue, which leads me to believe its something up with the javascript. The fact that the problem is intermittent, and does not through any error codes to FireBug, also doesn't make it any easier to diagnose and address. Any ideas how to diagnose / address this issue? • ASP.NET Login Page Redirection Problem

  Hello everyone! I'm building a silverlight application hosted on ASP.NET Web App. / IIS7 / SSL-enabled website. For security, I put my silverlight page inside a Members folder in the ASP.NET Web Application, and restricted access from anonymous users.(see web.config below) when users try to access pages under Members folder, they get redirected to https://www.ssldemo.com/authenticationtest/login.aspx.   I am maintaining a website with 3 different versions of the site, with 3 different languages, handles with a single system written in php, which takes in environment variables based on the domain name that is being accessed. These are the three sites: myshop.com : english international version myshop.eu : european version of site myshop.ru : russian version of the site when myshop.com is accessed from russia it is to be redirected to myshop.ru, and any country from europe accesses myshop.com, is redirected to myshop.eu, and international visitors stay at myshop.com, although they can go to the country specific site. All these redirections for the country is done using GeoIP apache2 mod in order to determine the country code, which is used in a RewriteCondition to state a RewriteRule, there are some exceptions of IPs that do not do the rewrite for, basically the IPs of the developer's PCs. The site has been doing just fine, until we decided to setup varnish to give the site a boost, it really did give it a great boost, but the country specific rewrites has become buggy. What started to happen is that a russian visitor can go to myshop.com and won't be redirected, until he clicks a random link (perhaps a link not cached by varnish yet) and the user is redirected to their specific country. For that i setup mod_rpaf, and for exceptions to the rewrite rule (for the developer's ip), i used this RewriteCond %{HTTP:X-FORWARDED-FOR} !^43\.43\.43\.43, and i restarted varnish and apache2, it worked for a while, then it messed up again. And whole day i have been doing changes however i have little no clue as to what's going on, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it half works, etc... As for geoip, i used a php to check the $_SERVER variable, and here is the general idea of the output [HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR] => 43.43.43.44 [HTTP_X_VARNISH] => 1705675599 [SERVER_ADDR] => 127.0.0.1 [SERVER_PORT] => 80 [REMOTE_ADDR] => 43.43.43.44 [GEOIP_ADDR] => 43.43.43.44 [GEOIP_CONTINENT_CODE] => EU [GEOIP_COUNTRY_CODE] => FR [GEOIP_COUNTRY_NAME] => France Now, thanks to the "random" redirects, i hardly have a clue as to what is going on, so can you guys please give me some ideas as to what tools to use to debug this? I have tried to see the redirect logs, but they really dont show much, and varnishlog isn't helping much either - although i must admit i am no professional at varnish. I believe the problem is with varnish trying to cache the url, and thus apache redirects are not being done properly, however visits the site first has a redirect, and based on that other users are served the content, depending on from where the user was when the cache was last updated, is it correct? if so, how can i solve the problem? Also, i have the option of using geoip redirects on varnish3 instead of using apache2 to do the redirects, is that what the best practice is? Any suggestion as to debugging this or to fix this would be helpful! thnx!

Now I'm upgrading this store to a 'cart' version so people could check out with multiple items at a time. Would anyone be able to tell me, in general, how my IPN handler would need to be altered to accommodate this? I'm unsure of what a response from Paypal looks like for a cart purchase as opposed to a buy it now purchase. Thanks, any help or examples of working IPN cart scripts would be very appreciated! • Event not bubbling in some Browsers when clicked on Flash

Clicking the Flash container in Firefox will work Perfectly fine. You should get alert boxes in this order containing: span, div and body. Flash bubbles the event to the HTML. But this is not happening in IE. So why is Flash in IE not bubbling events to HTML? Edit: As mentioned by Andy E this behavior can also bee seen in Google Chrome which to my knowledge is not using ActiveX to embed the flash movie into the page.
