  • To bring the IE window in front of the Screen

    I am creating new IE browser instance dynamically, and opening a aspx page from there. Everything works fine , but the browser is not popping in the Front of the screen .Able to see the Aspx page in the task bar when I click it from there it comes to the Front . How to bring that page in front of all the Screen as soon as IE is created.   • Smarty/PHP loop not being passed to IE(Pc) or Chrome/FF(Mac)

    Hi, I've been working on a site that has a lot of PHP/Smarty involved, I've been asked to re-skin a webstore checkout process, but during this we've discovered this issue. This particular quirk is one part of a tax calculation that doesn't get sent to the browser in IE for PC and Chrome/FF for the Mac. It's NOT in the output source in the browsers, but is in FF, Chrome and Opera on the PC. Here is the code that doesn't "work:" {foreach $cart.taxes.$currency as $tax} <div id="subTotalCaption2"><p style="width:100px;">{$tax.name_lang}:</p></div> <div id="taxAmount2"><p>{$tax.formattedAmount}</p></div> {/foreach} It's not a CSS issue as if you go all the way through the checkout process and then back to the order page (Not using the back button, using the on-site links) it works. There is another calculation on the last page of the process that does the same thing: {foreach from=$order.taxes.$currency item="tax"} <tr> <td colspan="{$colspan}" class="tax">{$tax.name_lang}:</td> <td>{$tax.formattedAmount}</td> </tr> {/foreach} I guess my question is what could cause this to not be read (Parsed?) in IE and the mac but other browsers do it fine on the PC.   • Jquery ajax and php die()

    Hi, I have an IE problem. I am using the jquery ajax method to call a php script. The php script just calls die(). In firefox, the error message is displayed, but in IE the success message is displayed without any data. I would prefer the error function to be called. Is there any way to fix this? I'm guessing my javascript code needs change somehow.   • WMF image data validation?

    There is an image capturing device which gives its output in wmf. This output is stored in the database directly. We have cases where at times some of these images do not appear on a web page in IE. But if we right click on the page we are able to save the image on to the hard disk; meaning the image does exist on the page, but does not appear visible. I think this is because of some file corruption issue, but I don't know how to resolve it. We are however able to view such files using MS Picture Viewer (desktop app). Is there anyway we can detect such problematic files?

    hello folks! i have a construction like this: <div id="container"> <span> <span></span> </span> <span> <span></span> </span> </div> i need to catch the mouseout event of the container, so i made jquery do this: $("#container").hover('',function(){ alert("Out"); }); In Firefox / Opera, it only fires the mouseout-function when leaving the div (how I want it). In IE it fires the mouseout-function at every -Tag inside of the div the mouse hits. (maybe important is, that the span tags have also mouseover and out events) Anyone has an idea how to solve this? (The nested structure cant be changed because a complex layout) thx4 any ideas!

    I'm currently building a web application that can can track a users actions on a particular website and pop a URL if the user takes certain actions, such as: first click, responding to a question by clicking yes / no, clicking a submit button, or exiting the site. It is important that these URLs are served to the user and are not blocked by pop-up blockers. It is my understanding that there are certain exceptions within the major internet browsers that allow pop-ups if they are served based on some user action, rather than serving an unsolicited pop? Is this true? How do I design this web application so that it can serve these pops (and not have them blocked).

  • Rails 3 and encrypted cookies with IE9

    I am using encrypted cookies to pass data to my rails app. Once these cookies get set, they are being passed just fine to Chrome, Firefox, Safari (iOS and OSX version), etc. However, the cookie isn't being passed back on Win7/IE9. I'm using Ruby 1.9 and Rails 3, and using the cookies.permanent.encrypted method of setting the cookie. E.g: cookies.permanent.encrypted[:some_data] = object.some_data Any ideas about what's going on?

  • Django: IE doesn't load locahost or loads very SLOWLY

    I'm just starting to learn Django, building a project on my computer, running Windows 7 64-bit, Python 2.7, Django 1.3. Basically whatever I write, it loads in Chrome and Firefox instantly. But for IE (version 9), it just stalls there, and does nothing. I can load up "http://127.0.0.1:8000" on IE and leave the computer on for hours and it doesn't load. Sometimes, when I refresh a couple of times or restart IE it'll work. If I change something in the code, again, Chrome and Firefox reflects changes instantly, whereas IE doesn't - if it loads the page at all. What is going on? I'm losing my mind here....

  • jQuery code works in Chrome, not in IE9

    Pretty new to jQuery here, I've got a chunk of code that works OK in Chrome, but fails in IE9 (have not tried FF yet). Here's the code: var textColor = $('#navmenu-body').css('color'); textColor = textColor.slice(4); In IE9, I get an error to the effect that slice can't be called because textColor is undefined. I was not sure if it's because jQuery just can't find the #navmenu-body element or that it can't find the CSS attribute color. So I did: var j = $('#navmenu-body'); var textColor = $('#navmenu-body').css('color'); textColor = textColor.slice(4); In IE9's console, j.length returns 0. This way the code would only need to be done for the latest version of the browser, but users could still have the functionality of the older version and not be forced to do major updates? I am sure there will be some major flaws in this, and I would like you to tell me what they are! -Obviously, people may not want this as often auto-updating is frowned upon, however Chrome does it (or at least, they used to); Without a manual check, Chrome will update itself automatically, Google said. "Google Chrome will automatically checks for updates approximately every five hours. If an update is available, it will be downloaded and applied at the next browser restart," Google said. -there is still the problem of getting users from the really old ones onto the any new browsers that have this functionality -To prevent exploits in terms of updates, maybe they could have a 7 day opt-in period before being pushed out to everyone?

    Hello, I'm having trouble with the following example. Background: I first have a element floated to the right with an image output inside it. I then have a element with other content within it. In FF and IE 8, as expected, the .images div floated to the right displays floated to the right pushing the content within the .product-body div to the left nicely. The problem: But when viewed in IE 7 compatibility mode, the .product-body div is cleared underneath the .images div and thus the .images div does not fall nicely to the right as expected. IT does this regardless of whether or not i have clear:none; on the .broduct-body div. Please see the example at www.hotelmarketingbudget.com Look at the source code there at the div element #content-body to see these divs. Feel free to use Firebug or IE Dev toolbar or whatnot to check this out.   • IE is doing strange things with JQuery

    So ... The thing is, the code works in FireFox, no problems. But when I open the same page, it gives me the following error: "Undefined is null or not an object." But when I copy the code to a localhost page, it works fine. Also when I clear my cache in IE it works, but only once, if I refresh after that one load, it gives me the same error. My issue is that when the thread title is clicked it is not recognizing the id attribute for that specific thread title in firefox and IE. It works fine in chrome, though.
