• when text changed inputbox automatically updates next text boxes?

  Extension to my previous question http://bit.ly/c5yiVM I have 7 textboxes. If Top 1 textbox(Volume All Years) text changed, text need to be updated in next 6 inputboxes(Latest 2009 Volume to Latest 2014 Volume). I need javascript or Jquery for this. I will write Js textchanged() or focuschange() for top 1 textbox. So what should I write in focuschage() or textchanged methods(). I changed little bit in code. Now Html will like below. These textboxes have common CssClass. volumetextbox. • Getting highest results in a JOIN

  I've got three tables; Auctions, Auction Bids and Users. The table structure looks something like this: Auctions: id title -- ----- 1 Auction 1 2 Auction 2 Auction Bids: id user_id auction_id bid_amt -- ------- ---------- ------- 1 1 1 200.00 2 2 1 202.00 3 1 2 100.00 Users is just a standard table, with id and user name. My aim is to join these tables so I can get the highest values of these bids, as well as get the usernames related to those bids; so I have a result set like so: auction_id auction_title auctionbid_amt user_username ---------- ------------- -------------- ------------- 1 Auction 1 202.00 Bidder2 2 Auction 2 100.00 Bidder1 So far my query is as follows: SELECT a.id, a.title, ab.bid_points, u.display_name FROM auction a LEFT JOIN auctionbid ab ON a.id = ab.auction_id LEFT JOIN users u ON u.id = ab.user_id GROUP BY a.id This gets the single rows I am after, but it seems to display the lowest bid_amt, not the highest.

  How to delete a child row (on delete cascade ?) when setting a null value on a parent? Here's the db design. table A [id, b_id_1, b_id_2] table B [id, other fields...] b_id_1 and b_id_2 can be NULL if any of them is null, it means NO B records for corresponding FK (there are 2 of them) so (b_id_1,b_id_2) can be (null,null), (100, null), (null, 100_or_any_other_number) etc How in one SQL query both set b_id_1 or b_id_2 to null and delete all rows from B that have this id? What FK design should be applied to the 2 tables? what foreign keys should be added? A - B (FK_1: A.b_id_1 references B.id, FK_2: A.b_id_2 references B.id) and also B-A (FK_3: B.id references A.b_id_1, FK_4: B.id references A.b_id_2) ? But again, setting an A's b_id_1 or A's b_id_2 to null - will it remove any of B's records? I don't think so. So how to do that?

  I know that a primary key must be unique, but is it okay for a primary key to be equal to a different column in the same table by coincidence? For instance, I have 2 tables. One table is called person that holds information about a person (ID, email, telephone, address, name). The other table is staff (ID, pID(person ID), salary, position). In staff the ID column is the primary key and is used to uniquely identify a staff member. The number is from 1 - 100. However, the pID (person ID) may be equal to the ID. For instance the staff ID may be 1 and the pID that it references to may be equal to 1. Is that okay?

This code takes me to my second page, but if I tried to access the id, it gives me an error since the id is null.   Hi, I have this PHP piece of code that gets $_GET['id'] (a number) and do some stuff with this. When its finished I need to increase that number ($_GET['id']) and redirect to the same page but with the new number (also using $_GET['id']). I am doing something like this: $ID = $_GET['id']; // Some stuff here // and then: $newID = $ID++; header('Location: http://localhost/something/something.php?id='.$newID); exit; The problem here is that the browser stop me from doing it and I get this error from the browser (Firefox) : "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete." Some help here please!

  Following on from my last question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2788082/sql-server-query-performance, and discovering that my method of allowing optional parameters in a search query is sub optimal, does anyone have guidelines on how to approach this? For example, say I have an application table, a customer table and a contact details table, and I want to create an SP which allows searching on some, none or all of surname, homephone, mobile and app ID, I may use something like the following: select * from application a inner join customer c on a.customerid = a.id left join contact hp on (c.id = hp.customerid and hp.contacttype = 'homephone') left join contact mob on (c.id = mob.customerid and mob.contacttype = 'mobile') where (a.ID = @ID or @ID is null) and (c.Surname = @Surname or @Surname is null) and (HP.phonenumber = @Homphone or @Homephone is null) and (MOB.phonenumber = @Mobile or @Mobile is null) The schema used above isn't real, and I wouldn't be using select * in a real world scenario, it is the construction of the where clause I am interested in. Is there a better approach, either dynamic sql or an alternative which can achieve the same result, without the need for many nested conditionals. Some SPs may have 10 - 15 criteria used in this way

  Running the following query (SQL Server 2000) the execution plan shows that it used an index seek and Profiler shows it's doing 71 reads with a duration of 0. select top 1 id from table where name = '0010000546163' order by id desc Contrast that with the following with uses an index scan with 8500 reads and a duration of about a second. declare @p varchar(20) select @p = '0010000546163' select top 1 id from table where name = @p order by id desc Why is the execution plan different? The query is very simple, it takes a single parameter (@ID, int) which is the primary key of the table, and selects the record that matches that ID. The primary key is an identity field with a clustered index, so I am stumped as to how to optimise this any further?   I two tables from database one as user(id,first_name,last_name) and the second table location(id,country). I need to perform inner join with this two tables and the list should display first_name,last_name,country with condition user.id=location.id I have written sql queries in cakephp $this->set('users',$this->User->find('list', array( 'fields' => array('User.id', 'User.first_name','location.country'), array('joins' => array(array('table' => 'location', 'alias' => 'location', 'type' => 'INNER', 'conditions' => array('User.id = location.id'))))))); i get error -Unknown column 'location.country' in 'field list' Please help!

• Displaying Data from a Join in Codeigniter

  I am using a simple join to pull data from two databases. This is the join in the model function com_control(){ $this->db->select('*'); $this->db->from('comments'); $this->db->join('posts', 'comments.entry_id = posts.id'); $query = $this->db->get(); return $query->result; } My desired method of display is going to be in a table so I am starting out to use like this foreach($comm_control as $row){ $this->table->add_row( $row->entry_id, $row->comments.id, $row->comment, $row->title ); }//end of foreach My problem is the display of data from comments.id. What is the proper format to add the comment.id into the table rows? I need the ID from both tables for display, edit and delete further on in the table. The only display I get at this time for "comment.id" is the word id. The Any help would be appreciated.
