  • Problems running rails server

    I just installed the rails env using the Rails installer on my Mac OSX 10.7.4. I create a project using the "rails new" command.     I am on a team of three people who are developing a Silverlight application. On two of our developers' machines the app seems to randomly crash. It never crashes on the third developer's machine. The nature of the crash is that internet explorer just dies with an "Internet Explorer has stopped working" message. How should I go about debugging this problem? I'm not really sure where to start.

    I am using tomcat 6 with JavaBridge. I have stored my php script in the following location. C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\test.php In test.php I am using curl and mysql. The php.ini in JavaBridge is stored in the following location C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\php.ini and its contents are - extension_dir="C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext" include_path="C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\pear;." there is also a config file called mysql.ini whose contents are - extension = php_mysql.dll I had also installed wamp earlier so I copied all the dll's from C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.0\ext to C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext When I start tomcat and run my script I get the following error - Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_connect() in C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\test.php on line 534 Please help.

However, when users from other offices (separate network, with firewall open) they get a password request input box. Why are they getting the password dialogue? What is the recommended way identify users of the app? I want to avoid using password, but windows identities. Anyone attempting to access the application is inside a trusted network.     I'm using the RighAWS gem, and mocking at the http level so that the RightAWS code is being executed as part of my tests. Even though all the tests pass, when I do have errors its harder to scan them because of this output. is there a nice way to silence it?

  • Running NUnit tests in Visual Studio 2010 with code coverage

    We have recently upgraded from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010. As part of our code base, we have a very large set of NUnit tests. We would like to be able to run these unit tests within Visual Studio, but with code coverage enabled. We have ReSharper, so can run the tests within Visual Studio, but it does not allow the code coverage tool to do its thing and generate the coverage statistics. Is there any way to make this work, or will we have to convert the tests over to MSTest?

  • Are there any Multifunction printer/scanners with duplex and long document scanning?

    Do any of the $200 or less multifunction printer / scanners support duplex scanning, and possibly long page scanning? Features I'm looking for in a scanner are: Duplex scanning (scan's both sides) ADF (Document feeder allowing a stack of documents) Long page scanning (legal documents or very long receipts) Good quality for pictures The printer side isn't as important, and in fact if there was a good scanner that did the above well I could do without the printer. I suppose $200 isn't a hard limit, just what I'm aiming for.

However, some functionality of the script requires superuser privileges. What is the most sane way to run this script securely? It is being passed arguments from a web form, but should only be able to be called by authenticated (and trusted) users.

If i go now over menu B the interval applied to A is now applied to B. There are now 2 interval functions applied to B. The one originally for A and a new one triggered by the mouseover on B.     I'm calling several unix commands and python on a python script from a qsub shell script, meant to run on a cluster. The trouble is that when the script executes, something seems to go awry in the shell, so that directories and files that exist are not found. For example, in the .out output files of qsub I see the following errors: cd: /valid/dir/name: No such file or directory python valid/script/name.py python: can't open file 'valid/script/name.py': [Errno 2] No such file or directory so the script cannot cd into a dir that definitely exist. Similarly, calling python on a python script that definitely exists yields an error. any idea what might be going wrong here, or how I could try to debug this? thanks very much.

  • Running multiple instances of tomcat in eclipse WTP

    Hey, SCENARIO: 10 CATALINA_BASEs with own configuration (always the same port numbers 8080, but 10 different IP/hostnames on one host via virtual IPs). created a server in WTP and pick "Use the custom location" option in the server configuration in eclipse. New configuration files are created in workspace/Server/server-name-config/ Set up the server path and deploy path for my catalina base (not the internal .metadata one) After I started it, the new configuration files overwrote the original catalina-base/conf files I had there - I was glad, it should be like this but after I made changes in the eclipse config files workspace/Server/server-name-config/ and restarted the server, the changes didn't appeared in the original files in CATALINA_BASE/conf What the hell is that ? So I set the CATALINA_BASE/conf/server.xml to fault configuration and restarted tomcat from eclipse and it worked ! it took the configuration from /Server/server-name-config/server.xml Then I deleted CATALINA_BASE/conf/server.xml and it said that there is no server.xml in catalina base ! How is it possible ? I don't understand why eclipse WTP developers made so tight integration. There should by just symbolic links in /Server/server-name-config/ pointing to CATALINA_BASE/conf/ ... now there is a weird system which is totally unpredictable. The changes in /Server/server-name-config/ are not reflected in CATALINA_BASE/conf ... from where the standard bootstrap.jar or other catalina classloaders and classes build server, engine and other objects with particular setting. Moreover the CATALINA_BASEs could be used outside eclipse then. The second problem, I'm setting up various things in CATALINA_BASE/bin/startup.sh and setenv.sh which is easy cause I can use bash for it. Is then modifying VM parameters in the "Open launch configuration" settings the only way how to do it in eclipse ? Sorry for such a huge pile of questions, but I'm annoyed by the fact that it is much better to not use eclipse WTP for this because it is very poorly designed and it's a shame because this would spare me a lot of time. And using the internal .metadata/ instances it's even more terrifying way that the one I described.

  • Why is my app running

    I have compiled my iPhone app with setting (Device, Release). I install it on the test machine and it runs with no problem. Here's the problem. The app is linked to a C++ library. The compilation on the simulator has no errors. However the device compilation produces 568 errors, mostly about different visibilities w.r.t AppDelegate.o. They all look like: QL::Error::~Error()has different visibility (default) in /QL/build/Release-iphoneos/libQLLibrary.a(abcd.o) and (hidden) in /Programming/ObjC/Second/build/Second.build/Release-iphoneos/FG.build/Objects-normal/armv6/AppDelegate.o Why is this, and how can I stop the errors anyway?
