  Hello, Can anyone tell me where do I find some useful documentation on handling copying rows, cells, columns from one excel file to another, using POI? I need to insert in one blank excel file, 2 or more templates from other files, dynamic. I also need to keep all the styles made for the group of cells that I copy. How can I do that? Nothing found on apache poi tutorial on this point. I am using POI 3.0.1. Thank you!

• How to use two templates for ListViewItem using WPF

  Hi, I would like to have a ListView that would have have items similar to Microsoft Outlook inbox with items arranged by Conversations (see the attached photo). An item can either be a simple textblock containing the topic of the conversation (on the photo this are the blue lines) or it can contain email information specified by the ListView's header. It would be best if the items with conversation topics would be push buttons so that emails inside that conversation could be shown or hidden by pressing this button. Any ideas how can I achieve this? Do I specify two ListViewItem templates? If yes, how do I tell in the code which template to use for each item? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!! • Missing templates after re-installing VS 2008

  I installed VS 2008 and I installed .NET 3.5 SP1 and I got all templates. Then, I had to uninstall VS 2008 (please don't ask why) without uninstalling .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or anything else. After that, I re-installed VS 2008 back, then I open up VS 2008 and found that when I add a new item the Entity Framework template is not among the list anymore. Could someone please help on how to resolve this problem? Thank you so much! Ray.

  I'm trying to create a set of overloaded templates for arrays/pointers where one template will be used when the compiler knows the size of the array and the other template will be used when it doesn't: template <typename T, size_t SZ> void moo(T (&arr)[SZ]) { ... } template <typename T> void moo(T *ptr) { ... } The problem is that when the compiler knows the size of the array, the overloads are ambiguous and the compile fails. Is there some way to resolve the ambiguity (perhaps via SFINAE) or is this just not possible.

I have function from django.shortcuts import render_to_response def home(request): return render_to_response('home.html',{'test':'test'}) and i have simple template such as: <html> <body> my test == {{test}} </body> </html> When i open my site in browser, i have "my test == ". settings.py is default. I dont use something custom. What the problem? Server is apache with wsgi module.

• Can I move the order of XCode, Cocoa, and User Templates around in XCode 3.1?

  I followed the other questions on StackOverflow and made custom User Templates. Instead of replacing the factory default Cocoa class template, I have to pick a new user template. The order that is shown in XCode's New File dialog box is: iPhone templates first (great if you mostly do iphone development) Second the User templates Third the default Mac OS templates. I want my user stuff first, Mac OS templates second, and I want to bury iPhone templates in third and last place. The sort is obviously not alphabetical. And you can't drag/drop reorder. (At least not in xcode 3.1.3)? From stackoverflow

• Django dictionary in templates: Grab key from another objects attribute

  I have a dictionary called number_devices I'm passing to a template, the dictionary keys are the ids of a list of objects I'm also passing to the template (called implementations). I'm iterating over the list of objects and then trying to use the object.id to get a value out of the dict like so: {% for implementation in implementations %} {{ number_devices.implementation.id }} {% endfor %} Unfortunately number_devices.implementation is evaluated first, then the result.id is evaluated obviously returning and displaying nothing. I can't use parentheses like: {{ number_devices.(implementation.id) }} because I get a parse error. How do I get around this annoyance in Django templates? Thanks for any help!

  Hi, this is a rather basic question (I'm new to Django) but I'm having trouble using a variable set in my view inside my template. If I initialize a string or list inside my view (i.e. h = "hello") and then attempt to call it inside a template: {{ h }} there is neither output nor errors. Similarly, if I try to use a variable inside my template that doesn't exist: {{ asdfdsadf }} there is again no error reported. Is this normal? And how can I use my variables within my templates. Thanks!

  I need to store 100k files (around 40GB) in a USB drive. Each file has a unique int id (e.g 45000). Option one is to put all files in a single folder: root/ root/1.pdf root/2.pdf root/3.pdf ... root/567.pdf root/568.pdf root/569.pdf ... root/10001.pdf root/10002.pdf root/10003.pdf ... root/99998.pdf root/99999.pdf root/100000.pdf Option two is to create a [1-9][0-9]* folder hierarchy based on that id: root/ root/1/file.pdf root/2/file.pdf root/3/file.pdf ... root/5/6/7/file.pdf root/5/6/8/file.pdf root/5/6/9/file.pdf ... root/1/0/0/0/1/file.pdf root/1/0/0/0/2/file.pdf root/1/0/0/0/3/file.pdf ... root/9/9/9/9/8/file.pdf root/9/9/9/9/9/file.pdf root/1/0/0/0/0/0/file.pdf Which option will scale better? I can understand that the second option will require tons of folders but each folder will at most contain 10 folders and 1 file. • Oracle and Partners release CAMP specification for PaaS Management

  Cloud Application Management for Platforms The public release of the Cloud Application Management for Platforms (CAMP) specification, an initial draft of what is expected to become an industry standard self service interface specification for Platform as a Service (PaaS) management, represents a significant milestone in cloud standards development. Created by several players in the emerging cloud industry, including Oracle, the specification is being submitted to the OASIS standards organization (draft charter) where it will be finalized in an open development process. CAMP is targeted at application developers and deployers for self service management of their application on a Platform-as-a-Service cloud. It is closely aligned with the application development process where applications are typically developed in an Application Development Environment (ADE) and then deployed into a private or public platform cloud. CAMP standardizes the model behind an application’s dependencies on platform components and provides a standardized format for moving applications between the ADE and the cloud, and if and when desirable, between clouds. Once an application is deployed, CAMP provides users with a standardized self service interface to the PaaS offering, allowing the cloud consumer to manage the lifecycle of the application on that platform and the use of the underlying platform services. The CAMP interface includes a RESTful binding of the CAMP model onto the standard HTTP protocol, using JSON as the encoding for the model resources. The model for CAMP includes resources that represent the Application, its Components and any Platform Components that they depend on. It's important PaaS Cloud consumers understand that for a PaaS cloud, these are the abstractions that the user would prefer to work with, not Virtual Machines and the various resources such as compute power, storage and networking. PaaS cloud consumers would also not like to become system administrators for the infrastructure that is hosting their applications and component services. CAMP works on this more abstract level, and yet still accommodates platforms that are built using an underlying infrastructure cloud. With CAMP, it is up to the cloud provider whether or not this underlying infrastructure is exposed to the consumer. One major challenge addressed by the CAMP specification is that of ensuring that application deployment on a new platform is as seamless and error free as possible. This becomes even more difficult when the application may have been developed for a different platform and is now moving to a new one. In CAMP this is accomplished by matching the requirements of the application and its components to the specific capabilities of the underlying platform. This needs to be done regardless of whether there are existing pools of virtualized platform resources (such as a database pool) which are provisioned(on the basis of a schema for example), or whether the platform component is really just a set of virtual machines drawn from an infrastructure pool. The interoperability between platform clouds that CAMP offers means that a CAMP client such as an ADE can target multiple clouds with a single common interface. Applications can even be spread across multiple platform clouds and then managed without needing to create a specialized adapter to manage the components running in each cloud. The development of CAMP has been an effort by a small set of companies, but there are significant advantages to this approach. For example, the way that each of these companies creates their platforms is different enough, to ensure that CAMP can cover a wide range of actual deployments. CAMP is now entering the next phase of development under the guidance of an open standards organization, OASIS, which will likely broaden it’s capabilities. We hope is to keep it concise and minimal, however, to ease implementation and adoption. Over time there will be many different types of platform components that applications can use and which need management. CAMP at this point only includes one example of this (in an appendix) – DataBase as a Service. Wikipedia describes STP as a solution that enables “the entire trade process for capital markets and payment transactions to be conducted electronically without the need for re-keying or manual intervention, subject to legal and regulatory restrictions” .I will deal with the later part of the definition i.e “payment transactions without manual intervention” in this article. The STP that I am writing about involves the interaction between a Bank and its’ corporate customers,to that extent this business case is also called “Corporate Payments”.Simply put a  Corporate Payment-STP solution needs to connect the payment transaction right from the Corporate ERP into the Bank’s Payment Hub. A SOA based STP solution can do a lot more than just process transaction. But before I get to the solution let me describe the perspectives of the two primary parties in this interaction. Here is how a day of interaction would look like from the treasury department of a corp. • INS-40719 error when Install Oracle RAC?

  I'm tying to (learn how to) install Oracle RAC 11g on CentOS 6 all went OK so far but I get INS-40719 Error message regarding SCAN Name I do not have DNS server and I'm not going to try to use it on this setup I add this line to /etc/hosts 192.168.244.100 rac-cluster then used "rac-cluster" as the SCAN name and it's still not working with the same error message! any one can guide me on how to make it work? 1- do I have to add "192.168.244.100 rac-cluster" to /etc/hosts on both nodes? 2- do I need to edit/add any thing else on the nodes? cheers

• Install Oracle Drive and TNS for Windows XP?

  I am building a box with Windows XP with some applications. One application requires connection to an Oracle database on remote. I have installed OracleXEClient.exe from Oracle download. The installation does install "Oracle Provider for OLE DB" driver. My problem is that I still cannot make connections to the remote Oracle db. The test I have done is to create a UDL file with Oracle provider OLE DB connection. The error message is: --------------------------- Microsoft Data Link Error --------------------------- Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified I think I may miss TNSNAMEC.ora in the box. I can find this file from another box where Oracle connection works fine. I am not sure what package I should install (from Oracle) so that the default TNSNAEMES.ora will be installed with related files and setup path for accessing the TNS file?

  I was browsing the net to find a solution, but I had no luck. :( How can I install Oracle's imp / exp binaries to my CentOS box without installing an Oracle Server? I'm accessing an existing Oracle database on another machine, so I only need a client here. I already installed sqlplus and its dependencies (oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11.2.0.3.0-1.x86_64.rpm, and oracle-instantclient11.2-odbc-11.2.0.3.0-1.x86_64.rpm), but that didn't provide those tools. Do I really need to fully install Oracle? My aim is to suck a database dump from the Oracle to my CentOS box. If there is another way to do this without using exp I wouldn't feel bad about NOT using it, but it seems to me there is no alternative.

Friend of the ‘Lab, Bex Huff (@bex) from Bezzotech (@bezzotech), had an interesting OpenWorld. He rebounded from an allergic reaction to finish his entry, Honey Badger, only to have his other OpenWorld commitments make him unable to present his work. Still, he did a bunch of work, and I want to make sure everyone knows about the Honey Badger. If you’re wondering about the name, it’s a meme; “honey badger don’t care.” Bex tackled a common problem with social tools by adding game mechanics to create an incentive for people to keep their profiles updated. He used a Hot-or-Not style comparison app that poses expertise questions and awards a badge to the winner. Questions are based on whatever attributes the business wants to emphasize. The goal is to find the mavens in an organization, give them praise and recognition, ideally creating incentive for everyone to raise their games. In last year’s keynote, Larry Elison demonstrated how to use the social network to track down resources that have the skill sets needed for specific projects. But how well would that work in real life? People usually update that information with the basic profile information, but they rarely update their profiles with latest news items, projects, customers, or skills. It’s a pain. Or, put another way, when was the last time you updated your LinkedIn profile? Enter the Honey Badger! This is a example of a comparator app that gamifies the way people keep their profiles updated, which ensures higher quality data in the social network. An administrator comes up with a series of important questions: Who is a better communicator? Who is a better Java programmer? Who is a better team player? And people would have a space in their profile to give a justification as to why they have these skills. The second part of the app is the comparator. It randomly shows two people, their names, and their justification for why they have these skills. You will click on one of them to “vote” for them, then on the next page you will see the results from the previous match, and get 2 new people to vote on. Anybody with a winning score wins a “Honey Badge” to be displayed on their profile page, which proudly states that their peers agree that this person has those skills. Once a badge is won, it will be jealously guarded. The longer your go without updating your profile, the more likely it is that you will lose your badge. This “loss aversion” is well known in psychology, and is a strong incentive for people to keep their profiles up to date. If a user sees their rank drop from 90% to 60%, they will find the time to update their justification! Unfortunately, during the hackathon we were not allowed to modify the schema to allow for additional fields such as “justification.” So this hack is limited to just the one basic question: who is the bigger Honey Badger?
