  • Is it possible to override the default logging for Glassfish v3?

    Related to this question. It appears that Glassfish is exporting slf4j into my application and overriding my logging solution. Is it possible for me to override Glassfish's logging and have my own logging solution take precedence? After searching, I have only found ways to modify the log using logging.properties. I am not married to my current implementation, but I am interested in making it work. thanks.

    If I accidentally double escape a string, can the DB be harmed? For the purposes of this question, let's say I'm not using parametrized queries For example, let's say I get the following input: bob's bike And I escape that: bob\'s bike But my code is horrible, and escapes it again: bob\\\'s bike Now, if I insert that into a DB, the value in the DB will be bob\'s bike Which, while is not what I want, won't harm the DB. Is it possible for any input that's double escaped to do something malicious to the DB assuming that I take all other necessary security precautions?

I want use a unique point of view of unmanaged exception and my problem is integrate wf-wcf services with ELMAH. The problem is that in wf-wcf i can't decorate di class with the elmah attribute so i make that using web.config if is possible. Someone can help me?   • Possible to set monthCalendar to show current month and previous 2 months?

    In a WinForms (3.5) application there is form with a monthCalendar control. The calendar control has a calendarDimension of 3 columns by 1 row. This means that it currently shows June, July, August of 2010. Is it possible to have the calendar to show April, May, June of 2010 instead? My dataset doesn't have any future dates so the date selection will be for current or older dates.

IS it possible to serve up a resource (or specifically a list of resources) as both .aspx and JSON? I have tried this but no matter what I try I keep getting the .aspx back ... any ideas?   • Is it possible to port a Windows RT app to a Windows Phone app?

    Just recently released an application to the Windows Store, and I'm wondering if it is possible to "downgrade" it to Windows Phone 7.1 - until Windows Phone 8 will arrive. The real problem is with the async stuff, I've found the "Async Targeting Pack", but it requires Visual Studio 2012; however VS2012 doesn't work with the Phone SDK 7.0, 7.1. I'm not in the mood to install old and ugly Visual Studio 2010 on my brand new Windows 8 machine :) Does anyone know a workaround?

  • Is it possible to use ActiveObjects (or another ORM) with an embedded database & JWS technology ?

    I would like to embed a database in my JWS application. As a matter of fact I have to use HSQL or SQLite. Hibernate may support (HSQL or SQLite, does it ?) but the workflow is rather complex for my application but maybe it's the way to go for my needs. In ActiveObjects database shoould be "linked" to by a path because of JDBC, but is it possible to specify a database that is inside a JAR and how ?

We can tell the Delphi compiler, whether to compile with assertions in a debug version and without assertions in a release version.     Hi, I have some piece of code which uses JNI. I can debug code wrote in Java directly in Eclipse (using ADT). I even have a script, which help me debug native code with gdb. However this is not very comfortable way for doing this. Is it possible to configure Eclipse to use gdb (I guess gdbserver) for debbuging android native applications? Do you know where I could find any description of this?

    In the project I am working I have deployed a SOAP server using Deployment Descriptors (WSDD) files. To do that a webserver (e.g tomcat, jetty) is started and then the following command is executed: java -cp %AXISCLASSPATH% org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient deploy.wsdd What I need is to skip the above command to avoid a call to the Axis AdminClient. Is it possible to deploy my webservice as war file? Note: A solution with JWS can't be used due to its limitations.

    I'm learning about Color Profiles/Color Spaces/Monitor Color Management Profiles and I was just wondering how any of that justified considering the fact that I could throw the entire color anything off by adjusting the brightness and contrast of my monitor? Additionally there are things like lighting in the place where your monitor resides. I don't understand what makes it possible to know that the colors that you are looking at on your monitor are accurate. I really don't have any idea where to start (considering I obviously can't even get the terminology right in the first place...:-p)

    I have a number of very long arrays. No run-time sort is possible. It is also time consuming to sort them manually. Moreover, new elements can be added in any order later, so I would like to sort them by value using C preprocessor or maybe there is any compilers flag (GCC)?
