• Keeping a database structure up to date in a project where code is on subversion?

  I have been working with Subversion for a while now, and it's been incredible for the management of my projects, and even to help managing the deployment to several different servers, but there is just the one thing that still annoys me. Whenever I make any changes to the database structure, I need to update every server manually, I have to keep track of any changes I made, and because some of my servers run branches of the project (modifications that are still being worked on, or were made for different purposes), it's a bit awkward. Until now, I've been using a "database.sql" file, which is a dump of the database structure for a specific revision. But it just seems like such a bad way to manage this. And I was wondering, how does everyone else manage their MySQL databases when they're working on a project and using Subversion?

• How to clear the memory allocated for Customized Exception

  Hi All I have a customized exception class. say class CustomExcep{}; My Application is a middleware made of C++. It is a webservice which is used for the communication between Java based web Front-end and the DCE Backend. whenever the DCE Backend is not running or down due to some core dumps, the application throws the CustomExcep. It's like this. CustomExcep * exc = new CustomExcep(); throw exc; I am unable to use the stack memory for this as it leads to some run-time exceptions. I need a solution to clear the memory used by this CustomException. Can we use Templates for this purpose? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

• Documenting (XML) Application Settings in Visual Studio 2010

  Hi all, I recently created a (C#) project with Visual Studio (2010) and used some Settings (which I created under Properties). The only place I found where I can add some XML comments for my documentation, would be in Settings.Designer.cs. However this file is auto-generated so whenever I change the Settings, the comments are gone. Even Visual Studio gives started giving mewarnings, "Missing XML comment for publicity visibly type or member .... " My question here is: What is the neatest way to add XML comments to my Settings? Is there a better place than Settings.Designer.cs? Should I stop the file from being auto-generated? How? Any other way?

  Hello! Please, don't judge strictly if this question was discussed previously or indirectly answered in huge nearby prism and mvvm blogs. In WPF implementation of RelayCommand or DelegateCommand classes there is a such eventhandler /// <summary> /// Occurs whenever the state of the application changes such that the result of a call to <see cref="CanExecute"/> may return a different value. /// </summary> public event EventHandler CanExecuteChanged { add { CommandManager.RequerySuggested += value; } remove { CommandManager.RequerySuggested -= value; } } but in SL subset of namespaces there are no CommandManager class. And this is where I'm stuck. I haven't yet found an workaround for this in MVVM adoptation for SL (PRISM is so complex for me yet). Different simple HelloWorldMVVM apps don't deal with at all. • android imageview scrolling to display full high quality image

  hi friends... i am working on displaying an image and placing an icon on top of it... clicking the icon will show an enlarged version of the image... though putting the imageview holding the image in a LinearLayout scales the image to the width of the dialog, the problem is that i need to display the image in a dialog but the image is very high resolution and hence is far bigger than the width of the dialog... I need to show the actual image with scrolling for both ways to see the whole image... But whenever i try putting the imageView in a scrollview the top of my imageview is blank... and again though image scrolls downwards the width is scaled to the width of the dialog... Helppppppppp guys....

  How can I get the on-screen location of a button in a toolbar? That is getting the rectangle frame of an NSToolbarItem? The [NSToolbarItem view] method seems to always return nil whenever the toolbar item is only a simple action button and thus I couldn't use the normal NSView methods to pinpoint the toolbar button's on-screen position. Background I'm trying to use Matt Gemmell's MAAttachedWindow component to point to a specific toolbar button. The component requires an NSPoint object to "point" the user to a location on the screen. • How to add the ImageMagick install to my path on Ubuntu

  I have had been on a roller coaster trying to get ImageMagick to work on my Ubuntu slice. I Whenever I try to upload an image I get the following error: /tmp/stream.1170.0 is not recognized by the 'identify' command. If I type 'which identify' I get: /usr/local/bin/identify If I run '/usr/local/bin/identify' or just 'identify', I get the following error: /usr/local/bin/identify: error while loading shared libraries: libMagickCore.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory If I run '/usr/bin/identify', ImageMagick is run just fine. How can I set my path to where when Paperclip runs the identify command, it points to /usr/bin/identify? Thanks. p.s. I have tried adding this to paperclip.rb: Paperclip.options[:command_path] = '/usr/bin' and Paperclip.options[:command_path] = '/usr/local/bin'

  I have seen many questions already and all are about background page to content script. Summary My extension has an options page, and a content script. The content script handles the storage functionality (chrome.storage manipulation). Whenever, a user changes a setting in the options page, I want to send a message to the content script to store the new data.   Hello guyz,i am new to daatbase and class diagram.I just get scenarios from internet and try to develop ERD and Class Diagram for them.But the following scenario has caused me some problems, and i am not sure about my design. "Whenever an employee fills leave application form, the leave application should be appeared for approval to his/her team leader. Team Leader has the option to change the date of requested leave and to approve or reject the leave. Employee also has the option to change date of previously unapproved leaves or to cancel any of unapproved leave. In case of team leader, he can approve his own leaves. Management should be able to create categories of leaves like (Casual, Sick, Planned work, etc) and should be able to adjust the days allocated to each type of leave". I have identified these as entities for ERD 1) Employee(I think i dont need to make entity for Technical lead,since he is an employee) 2) LeaveHistory 3) LeaveCategory Plz correct me if the system need more classes or entities

• How to post Arabic characters in PHP

  Okay, So I am writing an OpenCart extension that must allow Arabic characters when posting data. Whenever I post ????? the print_r($_POST) returns with this: u0645u0631u062du0628u0627 I check the HTML header and it has this: <meta charset="UTF-8" /> I checked the PHP file that triggers all SQL queries and it has this code: mysql_query("SET NAMES 'utf8'", $this->link); mysql_query("SET CHARACTER SET utf8", $this->link); mysql_query("SET CHARACTER_SET_CONNECTION=utf8", $this->link); This is in my form tag: <form action="<?php echo $action; ?>" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" id="form" accept-charset="utf-8"> I can't think of what else I am doing wrong. The rest of the OpenCart framework supports UTF8 and arabic characters. It is just in this instance where I can't post anything arabic? Could someone please help me? Many Thanks Peter

• Vim: Delete Buffer When Quitting Split Window

  I have this very useful function in my .vimrc: function! MyGitDiff() !git cat-file blob HEAD:% > temp/compare.tmp diffthis belowright vertical new edit temp/compare.tmp diffthis endfunction What it does is basically opening the file I am currently working on from repository in a vertical split window, then compare with it. This is very handy, as I can easily compare changes to the original file. However, there is a problem. After finishing the compare, I remove the split window by typing :q. This however doesn't remove the buffer from the buffer list and I can still see the compare.tmp file in the buffer list. This is annoying because whenever I make new compare, I get this message: Warning: File "temp/compare.tmp" has changed since editing started. Is there anyway to delete the file from buffers as well as closing the vertical split window?

• Embedded strongly-typed views with ASP.NET MVC

  I'm working on a plugin-type of system for ASP.NET MVC that loads views from an embedded assembly. I have created a VirtualPathProvider that does the work of retrieving out of the assembly. Everything is working fine except for strongly-typed views. Whenever I try to load one of those, I get an exception of: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage'. The problem is that there is no Web.config file under the Views folder. Well, actually there is, but the system doesn't seem to want to read the embedded version. If I manually create the file under the corresponding directory in the web app, everything is fine. This isn't an acceptable workaround however, as each plugin would need its own file in its own specific directory. Does anyone know how I might get ASP to read the embedded Web.config file?   Hi, How do I make syncdb execute SQL queries (for table creation) defined by me, rather then generating tables automatically. I'm looking for this solution as some particular models in my app represent SQL-table-views for a legacy-database table. So, I've created their SQL-views in my django-DB like this: CREATE VIEW legacy_series AS SELECT * FROM legacy.series; I have a reverse engineered model that represents the above view/legacytable. But whenever I run syncdb, I have to create all the views first by running sql scripts, otherwise syncdb simply creates tables for them (if a view is not found). How do I make syncdb run the above mentioned SQL?

• Problem with Sphinx resultset larger than 16 MB in MySQL

  Hello All, I am accessing a large indexed text dataset using sphinxse via MySQL. The size of resultset is on the order of gigabytes. However, I have noticed that MySQL stops the query with following error whenever the dataset is larger than 16MB: 1430 (HY000): There was a problem processing the query on the foreign data source. Data source error: bad searchd response length (length=16777523) length shows the length of resultset that offended MySQL. I have tried the same query with Sphinx's standalone search program. It works fine. I have tried all possible variables in both MySQL and Sphinx, but nothing is helping. I am using Sphinx 0.9.9 rc-2 and MySQL 5.1.46. Thanks

• Django + WebKit = Broken pipe

  I'm running the Django 1.2 development server and I get these Broken Pipe error messages whenever I load a page from it with Chrome or Safari. My co-worker is getting the error as well when he loads a page from his dev server. We don't have these errors when using Opera or Firefox.   Hi all, I am new to Entity Framework and please pardon my ignorance. We have a simple application written using SQL Server and ADO.Net. Now we have got a new requirement that, whenever a particular rows get updated by our application, some business logic has to happen. I have been looking into Triggers in SQL server and it looks like we can do it using triggers. I am also looking at Entity Framework's OnPropertyChange capability. Is it possible to do it with "OnPropertyChange"? I mean, Can I create a model and implement "OnPropertyChange" method? And when our application modifies the rows using ADO.Net, then will it fire "OnPropertyChange" event so that my custome code in "OnPropertyChange" excutes?   It's an important security issue and I'm sure this should be possible. A simple example: You run a community portal. Users are registered and upload their pictures. Your application gives security rules whenever a picture is allowed to be displayed. For example users must be friends on each sides by the system, in order that you can view someone else's uploaded pictures. Here comes the problem: it is possible that someone crawls the image directories of your server. But you want to protect your users from such attacks. If it's possible to put the binary data of an image directly into the HTML markup, you can restrict the user access of your image dirs the user and group your web application runs of and pass the image data to your Apache user and group directly in the HTML. The only possible weakness then is the password of the user that your web app runs as. Is there already a possibility?

• flex/actionscript client entity state refresh on JPA update using Pimento EntityManager

  My Flex application uses a client-side pimento EntityManager which fetches quite a few objects and associations. It does this by forcing eager fetching of particular association ends in the form of fetch plans. I would like to update the client whenever a change has been made to an entity existing in the EntityManager's cache. Is it possible to update the state of the changed entity ONLY, including updating which entities are associated, without resetting the state of these associated entities? I have setup an EntityListener with a JPA post-update method that notifies clients when a persisted entity has been updated. I want this to trigger a refresh for the modified client-side entity, but calling EntityManager.refresh(entity) resets all lazy associations to proxies. Initializing these proxies resets the associated entities, even if they were loaded previously. I'm looking for an efficient way to keep the client's state in synch with the server's state, at least with respect to the entities that have already been retrieved by the initial load.

  Hi All, I've been using resharper with the resharper automplete off (just find VS better for my purposes currently), but despite trying every setting I've tried, whenever I use a resharper template (such as tab-completing an if - if block), the resharper autocomplete dialog comes up in addition to the visual studio dialog (thus if they don't autocomplete to the same thing, or I accidentally hit enter, whatever I originally typed is replaced with the wrong resharper suggestion, effectively highlighting why I turned it off in the first place). A. Has anyone every seen this before? (I ask since I might have turned on/off a number of settings in a strange/incompatible way and perhaps a clean install might clear it up.) B. Any suggestions? :) (Visual Studio 08 SP1, Resharper 4.5.2 - only other tools installed are DevExpress, but they have long since been disabled) Thanks all!

  In my application i am using core-data to store information and saving these data to the server using web-connectivity i have to use MySql. Basically what i want to do is to keep track of number of NSManagedObject already created and Whenever i am adding new NSManagedObject, based on that counting it will assign the class a Int_value which will act as primary_key in MySql. For examaple, there are already 10 NSManagedobjects, and when i will add new one it will assign it "11" as primary_key. these value will have to be increasing because there is no deleting of NSManagedObject. From my approach its about static member in applicationDelegate whose initial value can be any integer but should be incremented by one everytime new NSManagedObject is created and also it should be persistent. I am not clear how to do this, please give me suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I'm writing a web application that is supposed to connect to a SQL Server database; the connection is formed from the following database string: <add key="DatabaseConnectionString" value="server=DEVPC1\SQLEXPRESS;uid=USERID;pwd=PASSWORD;database=DATABASE"/> However, whenever I try and run the web application, I get a connection error, specifically: An error occurred attempting this login: Login failed for user 'USERID'. Any suggestions on how to go about debugging this? I'm not really familiar with SQL, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help with this? new Thread((ThreadStart)delegate { txtCapacitance.Text = Math.Round(capacitance, 3).ToString(); }).Start(); Gives the following error: Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'txtCapacitance' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on. Note that all this is being started by a dataReceived function which is called whenever USB data is received.
