  • Macro for one-to-many splitting of Word documents

I would like to use a macro to automatically create about a dozen or so sub-documents based on certain rules (mainly, occurrence of certain strings in each Section). Is this possible?     I have a list of files in an array where the filename is the key and the value is the last modified date in seconds. They are sorted from oldest to newest. The files are glob()'d in, and then sorted this way using asort($fileNameToLastModified, SORT_NUMERIC); I use array_shift() to get the oldest file. Unfortunately, it seems to be giving me the value, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get the key. Would the only way to do that be something like this? $keys = array_keys($fileNameToLastModified); $oldest = array_shift($keys); array_shift($fileNameToLastModified); // to manually chop the first array member off too. Or is there a built in? Thanks

  • PayPal $0 Dollar Transaction?

    Hi. I have a client who wants a paypal shopping cart. All of the services have "Buy Now" buttons, all with different prices. However, there is one service, which is a FREE 0 dollar service. The client wants the "Buy Now" button to remain there, to be consistent with the rest of the site. Does anyone know how I can do a $0 dollar transaction with paypal?     I have a MS SQL Fulltext Function like this: (...) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM fishes INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(fishes, *, @keywords, @limit) AS KEY_TBL ON fishes.id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] When I use this function in LINQ, it generates a special return type which includes all fields of my "fishes" table, plus Key and Rank. How could I rewrite above query, or change something in LINQ, to omit Key and Rank and just return my "fishes" results (and to have the fulltext search result objects be of type Fish, which is what I really care about, so I don't have to cast)?

  • javac - differences between classpath and sourcepath options

    Hi, I read the Sun documentation and a lot of Q/A on SO but I'm still a little bit confuse regarding the differences between the javac options -cp and -sourcepath. Let say I have this directory structure: c:\Java\project1\src (where the .java source files are) c:\Java\project1\bin (where the .class will be or are already) The class source MainClass.java is in a package "com.mypackage" and the directory structure is ok in src. I'm in the project1 directory. I run c:\Java\Project1\javac -d bin -sourcepath src src/com/mypackage/MainClass.java or c:\Java\Project1\javac -d bin -classpath src src/com/mypackage/MainClass.java and I obtain the same result. In verbose mode, the search path for source files is src in both cases. If anybody could help me figure out the specifics of these options, it would be great. Thank you.

    Boost.Asio documentation suggests the following exception handling pattern: boost::asio::io_service io_service; ... for (;;) { try { io_service.run(); break; // run() exited normally } catch (my_exception& e) { // Deal with exception as appropriate. } } The problem with it is that the context of exception is lost at the point when it's handled. For example, if I have multiple socket sessions going on, I don't know which one caused the exception to be thrown. What would be a better way to handle the exceptions from asynchronous handlers without wrapping them in try/catch blocks?

  • What options exist to get text/ list items to appear in columns?

    I have a bunch of HTML markup coming from an external source, and it is mainly h3 elements and ul elements. I want to have the content flow in 3 columns. I know there is something coming in CSS3, but what options do I have to get this content to flow nicely into the 3 columns at the time being? I'm not that concerned about IE6 (as long as it degrades gracefully). Am I stuck using jQuery to parse the markup and chop it up into 3 divs which float?   • ASP.NET MVC 2 - ViewData empty after POST

    I don't really know where to look for an error... the situation: I have an ASPX view which contains a form and a few input's, and when I click the submit button everything is POST'ed to one of my ASP.NET MVC actions. When I set a breakpoint there, it is hit correctly. When I use FireBug to see what is sent to the action, I correctly see data1=abc&data2=something&data3=1234. However, nothing is arriving in my action method. ViewData is empty, there is no ViewData["data1"] or anything else that would show that data arrived. How can this be? Where can I start looking for the error?

  • linq: SQL performance on high loaded web applications

    I started working with linq to SQL several weeks ago. I got really tired of working with SQL server directly through the SQL queries (sqldatareader, sqlcommand and all this good stuff).  After hearing about linq to SQL and mvc I quickly moved all my projects to these technologies. I expected linq to SQL work slower but it suprisongly turned out to be pretty fast, primarily because I always forgot to close my connections when using datareaders. Now I don't have to worry about it. But there's one problem that really bothers me. There's one page that's requested thousands of times a day. The system gets data in the beginning, works with it and updates it. Primarily the updates are ++ @ -- (increase and decrease values). I used to do it like this UPDATE table SET value=value+1 WHERE ID=@I'd It worked with no problems obviously. But with linq to SQL the data is taken in the beginning, moved to the class, changed and then saved. Stats.registeredusers++; Db.submitchanges(); Let's say there were 100 000 users. Linq will say "let it be 100 001" instead of "let it be increased by 1". But if there value of users has already been increased (that happens in my site all the time) then linq will be like oops, this value is already 100 001. Whatever I'll throw an exception" You can change this behavior so that it won't throw an exception but it still will not set the value to 100 002. Like I said, it happened with me all the time. The stas value was increased twice a second on average. I simply had to rewrite this chunk of code with classic ado net. So my question is how can you solve the problem with linq

    I do not know ruby. I am trying to use the following regex that was generated by ruby (namely by http://www.a-k-r.org/abnf/ running on the grammar given rfc1738) in php. It is failing to match in php, but it is successfully matching in ruby. Given the ABNF in an rfc, I want a way (in php) to check if an arbitrary string is in the grammar. APG fails to compile on a 64-bit system, VTC is not Free, and I have not found any other such tools. I would also prefer not to use a regex, but it's the closest I've come to success.
