• Using pg_connect() with wamp server and postgresql

  Help! I am trying to connect to a Postgres database and can't get the server to connect. When I execute this php script: $conn = pg_connect("dbname=wikimap user=postgres password=postgis host=localhost port=54321"; if (!$conn) { echo "Not connected : " . pg_error(); exit; } I get this error: <b>Fatal error</b>: Call to undefined function pg_connect() in <b>C:\wamp\www\wikimap\php\pgis.php</b> on line <b>33</b><br /> I have made sure the php_pgsql and php_pdo_pgsql extensions are enabled in the wamp menu and php.ini, and I've read through other topics in this forum and others about connecting wamp to postgres, messing with the httpd.config file and php.ini file and copying libpq.dll between bins, all to no avail. I've been working on this for hours and can't figure out how to get pg_connect to work. Any ideas???

• Why Mac cannot connect to Iphone?

  I couldn't always ssh to my iPhone from my Mac. They're both on the same wifi network but sometimes the connection is established, sometimes it failed. From my Mac: $ ssh [email protected] ssh: connect to host 192.168.0.102 port 22: Operation timed out $ ping 192.168.0.102 PING 192.168.0.102 (192.168.0.102): 56 data bytes ping: sendto: No route to host ping: sendto: Host is down ping: sendto: Host is down I enabled SSH on the phone and am sure it can load webpages. • MySQLi Extension with phpMyAdmin

  I just unpacked the latest phpMyAdmin into /var/www/html/phpMyAdmin and it is giving me "The mysqli extension is missing." - how do I install this? I'm on Centos. I checked php.ini and it seems to be "unlocked". when I type in php -i |grep -i mysqli ... it looks to be enabled.   Hi, I heard that nginx is faster and since im on a VPS with low ram i thought id try it out. I got through this tutorial http://www.howtoforge.com/installing-php-5.3-nginx-and-php-fpm-on-ubuntu-debian But I now get the following error: unknown directive "fastcgi_split_path_info" in /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/default:28 Anyone know what might be causing the problem? I cant find any reference to the problem on Google Also I have heard conflicting things about Nginx vs Apache. Some say use one, some say the other. Im using allsorts such as rewrite rules, proxies etc. Am I setting myself up for a fall by using Nginx? If I go for apache, does anyone know of anyway to tweak it so that it performs better on a low ram VPS? Cheers Ke

• Windows 7: Screen will power of, or blank and lock, but not both.

  For some reason, my Windows 7 (Ultimate, 64bit) laptop will not power off the display and keep it off if I have the screen saver and/or the timed auto-lock enabled. Either the display blanks (and locks) but never powers off, or it powers off for less then a minute, then the back light visibly powers back on and stays on, even though the screen remains blanked until I touch a key or the trackpad. I've tried varying the screen power down time to greater than, less than, and exactly equal to the blank screen/lock time, with no success. Turning the screen saver and the timed auto-lock off does allow the timed display power down in the power settings to work properly. (Note that I am not talking about system sleep or hibernate. I'm talking about when the machine remains running, but only the display should power down.)

  Hello, I am trying to get a Dell V105 printer to work with my iMac. It is running 10.6 and I have installed all the drivers on the Snow Leopard disk. I believe there is no official Dell driver but I have also heard the Dell printers are made by third parties that may sell the same printer under different names. There a quite a few Lexmark models that seem to look very similar and I have tried setting the driver to the 2600 series that looks very similar but that has not enabled me to print. Although it claims to give me the supply levels correctly. Can anyone help? Thanks for your time

• My linux server takes more than an hour to boot. Suggestions?

  I am building a CentOS 5.4 system that boots off a compact flash card using a card reader that emulates an IDE drive. It literally takes about an hour to boot. The ultra-slow part occurs when Grub is loading the kernel. Once that's done, the rest of the boot process only takes about a minute to get to a login prompt. Does anyone have any suggestions? I suspect that it may have to do with UDMA. Everything IDE-related in my BIOS seems to checkout. The read performance hdparm is telling me 1.77 MB/s. Ouch! • Unable to run VMs on hyper-v

  Folks/Mates, I need some advise and assistance regarding the testing of Hyper-V. Here is my h/ware configuration: 1) Intel i5 processor (i5-750) 2) Intel M/B DP55WB 3) 6 GB DDR3 RAM OS = Server 2008 R2 Standart (evaluation copy). I installed 2008 r2 on my machine and added hyper-v role to it. I created 2 VMs and installed OS. But after finishing the OS installation the VMs are not booting up. After finishing the OS installation, the VM reboots automatically (normal behaviour) and shows "preparing your system for first time" after that it reboots and didn't come online. Few things to notice, when I am running "securable" on my server 2008 R2 OS it shows that processor is not supporting h/ware virtulization, but (since my desktop is dual boot) when I am running "securable" on my windows 7 OS, it shows that process "does" supports hardware virtulization. VT option is already enabled in BIOS. Any help and suggestions are highly appreciated :) Thanks in advance. Pradeep Rawat

  I installed TeamCity and enabled NuGet server, both Authenticated Feed and Public Feed. When I try to push packages to the server with the following command: > nuget push package.nupkg [API-Key-here] -s http://myserver/httpAuth/app/nuget/v1/FeedService.svc/ I get the following prompt: Please provide credentials for: http://myserver/httpAuth/app/nuget/v1/FeedService.svc/ And asks me for both "UserName" and "Password". I've tried entering credentials for TeamCity administrator and Windows administrator, but nothing works. So I tried pushing to the Public Feed with the following command: > nuget push package.nupkg [API-Key-here] -s http://myserver/guestAuth/app/nuget/v1/FeedService.svc/ Then I get the following: Failed to process request. 'Method Not Allowed'. The remote server returned an error: (405) Method Not Allowed.. Regarding the Authenticated Feed, what credentials are they and where do I specify them and why is the Public Feed not working?

• Apache is running but there is no page displayed

  I am on a Mac OSX and I am using the built in PHP and Apache2. I have been setting up MySQL and finally when I got MySQL working my local site won't display. Do note that I did have the web server running and delivering PHP enabled pages, just no database connection. But my question is not about MySQL. I have changed various settings in the 'http.conf' file, and I have the line: '127.0.0.1 localhost' in my hosts file. I also have other alias' pointing to 127.0.0.1. I have checked everything I could about Apache and I have made sure that any message in the error_log is ok. I currently have my errorLevel set to debug, so I get all the messages. At this point (HOURS of self fixing) I think I need help. What can I provide for someone to figure this out with me. Thanks.

• Can't connect to Apple Time Capsule in home network using Home Plugs from Win 7 Machine

  I have the following home network setup with subnet 255.255.255.0 but recently moved my time capsule to a different location when I added a third Home Plug and can no longer ping or map a network drive to it from the Windows 7 Machine. However using Airport Utility on the Windows 7 machine I can manually configure the Time Capsule. Using a Macbook on WIFI Network 1 or 2 - I can backup to the time capsule, so its accessible via both the router wifi network and the time capsule wifi network. The Time Capsule is set to BRIDGE function - ie no NAT or DHCP server enabled. Any bright sparks out there that can help diagnose the problem? • Mac friendly file sharing from VirtualBox

  I have set up Ruby on Rails on Ubuntu into a VirtualBox instance on my PC, I enabled Samba and I'm connecting to it via the home network from my Mac. All is fine except that I have some issues deleting some files from inside applications e.g. in Sublime Text 2 when I right click a file in the browser and select delete nothing happens (same in my Git client). To be able to delete files I have to navigate to the folder in Finder (which leaves those nasty .DS_Store files scattered all around) or issue the delete command from the terminal (inconvenient). If you're asking why I'm using VirtualBox for Rails instead of doing the development directly on the Mac it's because the ease of portability. So my question is: are there any network sharing options which I could use to make the Linux instance play nicer with my Mac?

  Hi, I have successfully configured Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 with SQL Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 all 64 bit, however when I tried to access this particular SQL Server 2008 DB instance from another SQL Server 2008 SSMS in another Windows Server 2008 it failed ? what I did is to disabled the IPv6 IP address using the regedit but still the problem hasn't been fixed even after restart ? I have enabled the named piped as well but still no luck ? any help please ? I have tried every resource: Blogs, tutorials Instructions by Google Instructions by Thunderbird Questions here But, still its not working. • Not able to access other machines on network

  Hi I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise (32bit) on my laptop. For some time I'm not able to access other machines using \\192.168.xxx.xxx. I've installed VM Ware player on my machine few days back but I don't remember if it happened just after that or there is some other reason behind it. EDIT:- I've disabled VMWare Bridge Protocol but still no effect. Please help me. PS:- I've used both wireless and wired networks. Network sharing is enabled and I can ping other machines but cannot access network shares. I get following message: \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have acess permissions. The request is not supported. EDIT (2):- Network Discovery, File and Printer Sharing, Folder sharing are all on.

  I am loosing hours with this (should-be) simple task. I want to restrict access to my website, which is on my server in /var/www/. I've created /etc/apache2/passwords file with httpasswd successfuly (user primoz). I've put .htaccess in /var/www/ and this is the content: AuthType Basic AuthName "RestrictedFiles" AuthBasicProvider file AuthUserFile /etc/apache2/passwords Require user primoz My website is still accessible. I also tried editing the /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default - line AllowOverride None to AllowOverride All. No need to mention that it didn't make any changes. Should restricting really be this frustrating? EDIT: /etc/apache2/httpd.conf is empty by default because I run server on Debian - which uses apache2.conf instead. Here is the whole apache2.conf.

  I have enabled lighttpd mod_status as /server-status. When I go to the URL, I get the status page. I am interested in monitoring connections -- most specifically KeepAlive connections to make sure KeepAlive is working correctly. The problem is I only see the full connection info for the /server-status request itself. All other requests do not have the URI or hist columns filled in: X.X.X.X 0/0 0/4673 handle-req 0 test.mydomain.com /server-status (/server-status) This makes it difficult to know which URL was last handled by a particular connection. Is there something special that I need to do to show this information(URI) in /server-status?

• Weird routing problems with VPN

  In our VPN setup I have to add a route to my routing table like this: route add 1.2.3.0 mask 255.255.255.0 172.16.1.1 -p Our internal addresses 1.2.3.x then use 172.16.1.1 as their gateway and both my local internet and work VPN can work at the same time. However, when I disconnect from VPN and reconnect again, I can't ping our servers even though the connection status is "Connected". When I do route print my previously added route is listed but it doesn't seem to work. So I try to execute that 'route add' command again and as expected, it tells me that The route addition failed: The object already exists. But - and that's the point - when I now try to ping our servers again, everything works! So every time, I have to execute this route add command that will fail but fix the issue at the same time. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? My PC is Windows 7 x64, I am Administrator, UAC is enabled and the command prompt is run with elevated privileges.

"These machines are now on Domain where in we have no rights/control on the domain level GPO", we have local admi rights on these machines We have a requirement do set the "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" to "NOT Configured" or "OFF "on these machines In gpedit.msc if we manually go to "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security" after enabling Windows Firewall Services then can Clear the settings Do do the same manually on all machines is extra effort Changing values in registry will get reverted on machine restart as its getting applied from local GPO Also using GPMC can connect to remote computer and can manually or using wfw file we can make it not configured but we are looking for a script or a less effort method to accomplish this Please suggest NB: CIA has already reported similar issue//How do I turn off Windows 7 Firewall via script or through automation?// , but doing netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state off on already deployed machines did not make change (FW service on all machine is disabled in GOLd image)// Thanks and Regards Jose

  I have Windows 8.1 Pro English. Sometime I need to use another languages (I did not install any language packs and my locale is English). So I have a few keyboards enabled. However in W7 when I switch keyboard it stays in the window I switched it.. and other windows have English at the same time... In windows 8.1 if I switch keyboard it changes everywhere. is there an option to keep different keyboards in different windows / apps ?

• website not accessible with IIS6 while NAT is configured in Windows 2003

  I have Windows2003 server configured with IIS 6. Until now it was working fine, but since I enabled NAT for my users to access the internet via this server, the website becomes unavailable. Note that I have two nics on the server one is WAN and 2nd is for LAN. Both IPs are behind the firewall. If I stop the NAT then the website is available externally. I tried to search the answer in this forum but didn't find appropriate one or maybe didn't properly understand. I'll appreciate if anyone can help me sorting out this issue.

  I have usb-tethering enabled in my phone. It works fine with Vista. When I plug my phone into my Tecra 8000 laptop running Xubuntu, dmesg shows: "usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 8". I see that the OS has detected it as a storage device, but I can't get it to function correctly as a network device. /dev/us* shows no usb0, but it does show /dev/usbdev1.1_ep00 /dev/usbdev1.1_ep81 /dev/usbdev1.8_ep00 ... usbdev1.8_ep83.
