  i wonder if large web applications like twitter and facebook have admin panels to handle CRUD for users, posts, images, themes and so on just like in CMS like drupal? so programmers have to code the front for the regular users AND back for the administrators? if i develop an web application is it recommended that i also code the admin part? or is it unnecessary since i can handle all directly in mysql and by editing php scripts directly? share your thoughts! thanks

  Quick question, has anyone ever come across either a web cam API or an open source alternative that can be easily integrated to a site without having any Flash or ActionScript experience. I should probably say what I'm trying to do.... The idea is to create a Facebook app that lets friends communicate (and meet new people too) in real time over web cam. However I don't have the required experience to write the Flash part so any help would be appreciated.

  Hi, I'm currently integrating facebook into my current app and I've succeeded in retrieving the access_token using the following code: url="#{url}?#{client_id}&#{client_secret}&#{code}&#{redirect_uri}&type=client_cred" agent = Mechanize.new page = agent.get(url) The page object above has a body which contains text something along the lines of access_token=XXXXX I just want to pull out the access_token value. I can get the entire string simply by writing: page.body But I was wondering is there a way to get the access_token value without resorting to regular expressions etc? Thanks.

So how do they actually save it? Hashing all the data with user password so that only a valid session view it is one possibility.   Hi, My friend's account for some Facebook game was suspended on the grounds that he had Greasemonkey installed on his browser. He is asked to uninstall Greasemonkey and account has been restored. My question is how can a web server detect a client side plugin presence? I assume that Greasemonkey or greasemonkey scripts operate on the client side only so it would not be possible for the server to detect it. Thanks.
