  • Windows 7 Public Documents Folder - how to move it to drive d: [closed]

    Hi, I've just bought a new pc, and it is running Windows 7. I'm wanting to set up all of the documents folders such that they point to folders on a second drive partition (ie. disk D:) so that I have a nice separation of os from docs. I have managed to do this for each user on the machine (by opening up properties for documents folder and changing location). Hwoever, this procedure doesn't seem to work for the public documents folder. I cannot change the location for that one (even though I have administrator privileges). It is greyed out and cannot be changed. Any ideas ? Thanks!!

    I asked this a few months ago, and only received one response which didn't work. I've been tinkering with it for the past few weeks, and I'm still completely lost, so I would appreciate anyone else's input as I'm all out of ideas. what I'm trying to do is add a list of folders and files all to the root of my Zip file, using the Ionic Zip library (c#).     I need to copy the item that user just added (for example. myresume.doc or financial.xls) with the metadata (doc lib obtains the columns from content type, ct obtains the columns from site colum) and copy the item with metadata in a folder called "NativeFile". Every doc library has this folder. I know itemadded can be used but then I heard itemadded fires before user have a chance to complete the metadata for the item they just added. What are my options?     Hey, I have an image slideshow program working right now and it takes in a folder of a hard coded in number of images. I would like to change this so that it can take in a folder and will display all of them no matter the number. Is there a way to do this in flash? I'm thinking something like the foreach loop in perl or other scripting language. It is possible to store then number of images in a text file but I also don't know how to read that in flash either. I'm working in actionscript 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -Mike

  • Content organizer auto create folder has wrong time in sharepoint 2010

    Hi, I have a problem, I am using the content organizer feature to redirect document on upload and the auto create folder feature of it, the property used is a date set by the user when the document gets uploaded. My problem is that when the folder gets created it writes the time set by the user minus two hours, I see that it uses GMT time while everything on the server, the site and the computers is set to UTC+2, so how come it still uses GMT time ? Can someone help me out please. Thank you.

I googled it and still do not see many articles talk about. For example, you might have directories for Feasibility, Business Analysis, Design etc. or whatever your phases are called. Organize by function so that the top directory level are functions. For example, Risks, Requirements, Scope, Change Control, Development. Most times a mix of both are used..." So any thought about it? I believe this is also an important issue!

  • Writable folder by all users on the same pc

    I have a desktop .NET WPF application witch uses an embedded database (SQLite). Where to put the database file ? It's the same database for all users. I tried to use CommonAppData but it's not writable by non-admin users. So I tried to use a custom installer action to give write rights to all users to this folder but it fails on domain PCs. The code is: DirectorySecurity security = Directory.GetAccessControl(appDataPath); FileSystemAccessRule rule = new FileSystemAccessRule("Users", FileSystemRights.WriteData, InheritanceFlags.ContainerInherit | InheritanceFlags.ObjectInherit, PropagationFlags.InheritOnly, AccessControlType.Allow); security.AddAccessRule(rule); Directory.SetAccessControl(appDataPath, security); Would ".\Users" insead of "Users" work on a domain ? Is this the best approach ? Is there any other folder I could use ?

Actions taken: Downloaded and installed the dotTrace Profiler 5.5 from the JetBrains website Downloaded the dotTrace.Performance.Remote version 5.5.0 from Nuget Published the website to WAWS via Visual Studio 2013 Started the dotTrace application as Administrator Connected to the remote _https://subdomain.azurwebsites.net/AgentService.asmx.     I'm developing a new aspnet website with 200k images in a /Images/ -folder. Many operations in Visual Studio is slow because it access the folder, adding a web service takes 10 minutes. The images is not checked into scm (svn). How should I structure the tree of code, to improve performance in VS? It would also be neat if not all developers needed to copy 200k images to their local disk to be able to develop on the site. Images as DB blobs is not an option.

  • How to copy QT folder to another folder without reinstalling it?

    I have QT installed on disc D (on Windows). And I want to move it to disc C. Is it possible to do that? If I just copy QT folder from C to D then I see lot of errors when I compile my applications that use QT. Errors are because qmake.exe contains full paths to include, bin and libs folders inside. So, when I create solution for Visual Studio 2005 using qmake - then this solution contains dependencies to old QT folder from disc D. And I found no way how to remove this dependencies without reinstalling of QT. It is not a big problem for one my single machine - I can reinstall. But I need to deliver this change then to tens and hundreds of other developers machines and I want to make it as easy as possible without need to reinstall QT.

    Hey, How can i redirect a subdomain call to a folder? So when the site, sub.domain.com is requested, the name of the subdomain should point to a subfolder. The server is configured to add every request to the domain, but i get a 404 page everytime i do a non-defined subdomain call (witch is trivial, because theres nothing defined) EDIT my request looks like this: sub.domain.com What and i want to get that it works like a "virtual subdomain", because it has to request a folder with the same name that the subdomain. (domain.com/sub/) So the question is: How to solve this, with .htaccess?

  • iOS Downloading Videos and saving in Application Support folder

    In my application, i've to download videos around 10 to my application and play accordingly. Each video is around 50 MB. I'm using following code and then after downloading the video, i'm saving it to Application support folder to avoid icloud sync. But the problem is that when downloading the videos its crashing. [NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:req queue:[[NSOperationQueue alloc] init] completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response, NSData *rcvdDat, NSError * err) { . . . } What I'm thinking is that, while downloading the video, it resides in memory and so the total memory occupying by the app is increasing. Finally iOS is making the app to close. I would like to download the video and when ever a stream of data received, write to temp file and when completes move it to application support folder. Can some one help me on how to write it to file and save it at the end? I cannot use 3rd party libraries (unless its small) due to legal issues.

    i made a simple .htaccess file to expose the problem. I want that all request made to the folder redirect to a subfolder file "app/index.php" RewriteEngine On RewriteRule (.*) app/index.php [QSA] And this works fine on with the basic url of my hoster (like http//myname.hosting.com/htaccessFolder The problem is that i have a domain pointing on this folder, and when accessed to it, server return Internal Server Error 500. If i do this : RewriteEngine On RewriteRule (.*) somefile.php [QSA] Redirection works only when file does not exists (404 not found error occured). when the file exists i get a 500 error too. I've asked the hosting support without success for the moment..
