IIS7 & WIndows Authentication - authenticating to the wrong domain

I have an IIS 7 web app that is using Windows authentication. Currently, everything is set up correctly based on all that I've been able to find on the web. What's happening is when a user tries to get to that domain, they see the authentication popup, but they are being requested to authenticate to "servername.domain" instead of just the domain .... How do I get IIS 7 (or the browser for that matter) to realize that windows authentication should be to the domain, not to the machine hosting the IIS 7 instance?? Thanks, Steve G.

Server 2008 Active Directory DNS Entries Deleted. Dcdiag unable to contact local AD controller.

I've never seen anything like this. At a potential customer site, I noticed that the PC's were all unable to locate the domain controller and netlogon was failing. I fixed the DNS entries on the client PC's so the AD server was DNS server and tried to rejoin the domain. The PC was unable to locate the domain controller. On the server, I checked the DNS settings and while there is the high level AD folder, every single entry related to Active Directory appears to have been completely deleted. There are no backups from what I can tell and this has been happening for 6 months at least. Does anyone have any recommendations for repairing this? Thanks.

CorePlot linker errors after upgrading iOS SDK

This seems like it's happened before but somehow ended up working itself out. It's happened again and I can't seem to get this fixed. I use the CorePlot Cocoa Touch framework. Everything was fine until I upgraded to the new 4.3 beta. Now my project won't compile, and is giving me linker errors for unknown symbols having to do with CorePlot. I've become a pro at adding the framework to my project, and I've checked and rechecked the instructions trying to do it again. Is there a button I can click or anything to just make this work again? I've used these instructions to try to re-add the framework, to no avail EDIT: By the way, this compiles just fine for simulator and runs graphs no problem. Win8 Change A Password

I have a non-domain machine that I use with our company's domain resources regularly. I upgraded to Windows 8, and the "Change a password" option went away from the Ctrl-Alt-Del window. Can't seem to google anything about this subject, or find a way to access that password change dialog. I tried running the .reg file from http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/63014-ctrl-alt-del-screen-add-remove-change-password.html with no luck. I also tried to Disable "Remove Change Password" via gpedit.msc. I could do it from my domain laptop, but I like to do it on this machine because it updates all my saved copies of those credentials. My local account is tied to my hotmail account if that matters.

VS 2010 Class Diagram Error "The type cannot be edited..."

A few of the classes on a VS 2010 class diagram are displayed with a red title. The Class Details window shows all of the methods, properties, fields and correctly shows no events. However, there's an entry under each of methods, properties, fields and events that states where the name should be: "The type cannot be edited because the source code file contains an error." However, the source file builds with no errors or warnings. Anyone seen this? Any idea how to fix it?

But, for the life of me I cannot find a setting that will allow write access to the local hard disk for domain users with redirected profiles(to the server). This is needed only for one program that will not follow a symbolic link to the network path, instead it seems to be hard coded to the %appdata% folder but only on the c: drive.... So question is how can I allow "Domain users" write access to the local %appdata% directory? I have tried setting it manually on a machine but it kept resetting to RO no matter how many times I tried. Everytime I would uncheck the RO property it would reset sometime right after i hit OK. Make IP Address point to webroot instead of virtual hosts' documentroot

I used to have a one-to-one domain name and IP. Recently I've paid for a second domain name and decided to host it on the same box and IP. As such, I added virtualhosts to point each domain name to a different document root (i.e. /var/www/webbie1 and /var/www/webbie2). The question I have is, can I still make the IP, e.g. http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX, point to the webroot, i.e. /var/www/? If so, how do I go about doing it? For a fuller picture, the box is on an Ubuntu server OS and I'm using apache2 as the app server. the changes I made to enable to virtual hosts were in the apache2.conf file with the <VirtualHost [IP address]> ... </VirtualHost> tags. How can I get a Windows 2008 print server to deploy to child domains?

I am setting up a print server for our company that has a parent domain and 2 child domains. The print server is on the parent domain and I have no problems getting the print server to deploy printers through group policy to users on its own domain. The problem I am having is that it isn't deploying the printers to users that are in it's child domains. Some other info that may help: I am not sharing or listing printers in the directory I have added pushprinterconnections.exe to the group policy login script Does anything come to mind?

C++ method declaration, class definition problem

I have 2 classes: A and B. Some methods of class A need to use class B and the opposite(class B has methods that need to use class A). So I have: class A; class B { method1(A a) { } } class A { method1(B b) { } void foo() { } } and everything works fine. But when I try to call foo() of class A from B::method1 like this: class B { method1(A a) { a.foo(); } } I get as result compile errors of forward declaration and use of incomplete type. But why is this happening? (I have declared class A before using it?)

Windows network takes long time to access

Hello friends, I have 4 Winodws XP systems connected in a domain with Windows 2003 server. Domain name is "SoftGenIndia". We are using Star topology. I have checked all the cables and connections, all are OK. What happening is that when i try to open the computer on domain it takes long time to show the shares (around 2-3 mins). Should I use Enumeration or Class stereotype in UML to represent a type directory table?

Let's take 2 UML class model entities: One represents an actual Order and another represents an Orede Type. Any Order corresponds to one Type. A 2-way-naviglabe many Orders to one Type relation is meant. Order Type instances are, for example, "Request availability", "Request price", "Preorder", "Buy", "Cancel", "Request support", etc. Order Types are to be addable and editable in the resulting application. Should I model Order Type as Class or as Enumeration? From the data perspective I can't see the difference actually.

PHP 5.3: Late static binding doesn't work for properties when defined in parent class while missing in child class

" "; } } class Brother extends Mommy { } class Sister extends Mommy { } Brother::init( "Brother Data" ); Sister::init( "Sister Data" ); Brother::showData(); // Outputs: Sister Data Sister::showData(); // Outputs: Sister Data ?> My understanding was that using the static keyword would refer to the child class, but apparently it magically applies to the parent class whenever it is missing from the child class. (This is kind of a dangerous behavior for PHP, more on that explained below.) I have the following two things in mind for why I want to do this: I don't want the redundancy of defining all of the properties in all of the child classes. I want properties to be defined as defaults in the parent class and I want the child class definition to be able to override these properties wherever needed. The child class needs to exclude properties whenever the defaults are intended, which is why I don't define the properties in the child classes in the above example. However, if we are wanting to override a property at runtime (via the init method), it will override it for the parent class! From that point forward, child classes initialized earlier (as in the case of Brother) unexpectedly change on you. Apparently this is a result of child classes not having their own copy of the static property whenever it isn't explicitly defined inside of the child class--but instead of throwing an error it switches behavior of static to access the parent. Therefore, is there some way that the parent class could dynamically create a property that belongs to the child class without it appearing inside of the child class definition? That way the child class could have its own copy of the static property and the static keyword can refer to it properly, and it can be written to take into account parent property defaults. Or is there some other solution, good, bad, or ugly?

Hi, I want to make sure that certain users are available in a group from the windows domain. I installed "Group Policy Management" and can open the Forest, the Domain. But then I am not sure what I am searching. I can select a link to a Group Policy Object (GPO). In Settings i see the Drive Maps and I know them. But how can I display a list of users that use this GPO? Right-click, Edit... is disabled. net group my_gpo does not work since I am not on a Windows Domain Controller. Any possibility to find out anyway?

HTTP redirects showing ip address

I have a domain name on 1&1 and a VPS on Linode. I noticed that my site was enclosed in a frameset which I didn't create. I checked nginx and jetty in the VPS but none of them created the frameset. Then I checked the domain control panel in 1&1 and saw that the redirection could be a frame redirect or an http redirect. I changed to http redirect and the frameset was gone, everything was fine except for the fact that in the url bar of the browser it changed to the ip address of the server instead of my domain url. How can I avoid the frameset and still have the proper url displayed instead of an IP?

Is it possible to change the message-id in postfix? If I send Mails over an Java-Application I get the following message-id: message-id=<143303043.111334605578921.JavaMail.applicationanme@hostname> So I want that the message-id looks like this: message-id=<[email protected]> What I can understand, if I send mails with the Linux program mail it works: message-id=<[email protected]> I have already set my hostname in the postfix-conf, but when I send a mail with the java-application it doen't work. We use a relay host to send email and any messages which are sent without @domain.tld in the mail-id will detected as a spam mail. Do you have any idea how I can fix this?

What happens to a class in PHP once its been instantiated?

Hi I'm just playing around with some PHP and was wondering what happens when an object from a class is created within another PHP script? I assume once its created and been processed their is no way of then going back and 'playing' around with it from another script? The idea is i'm trying to create a kind of deck of cards using a card class, each card has specific data that is added to each individual object to make it unique, suit, value etc. Once its created i need to be able to go back to specific cards to use them. In java i'd have an arraylist of card objects, i'm not sure how to approach the same area in PHP. Thanks.

Pass Session data to a Class Library without using a bunch of constructors?

Hi all, I've got my application here where literally every object has a lastUpdatedBy property. The information I put into here is the person's username, which is retrieved from the session("username") variable. How can I pass this data to my DAL in the class library? At first I was just passing in the value into each method, but this is ridiculous I thought, there should be no reason to do that every time a method is called. Then I thought well if I just put it in a constructor for each of the DAL related classes, that will make it even easier. However, even still on any given page, I've got a plethora of New() declarations, for which every single line I need to pass in the session username casted as a string. Is there an even still more efficient way of doing this so that I could only declare this in one place, and everything will know what it is and I can pass it to classes in a class library?

Apache httpd.conf handle multiple domains to run the same application

So what we are looking for is the ability to do the following: We have an application that can load certain settings based on the domain that it is being accessed from. So if you come from xyz.com we show a different logo and if you come from abc.com we show a different logo. The code is the same, running from same server just detects the domain on the run Now we want to get a dedicated server (any suggestions?) that will enable us to point all the doamins that we want to this server (we change the DNS for the domains to that of our server) and then when the user goes to a certain domain they run the same application. Now as far as I can understand we will need to create a "VirtualHost" in apache to handle this. Can we create a wildcard virtualhost that catches all the domains? I am not an expert with Apache at all. So please forgive if this comes out to be a silly question. Any detailed help would be great. Thanks
