  I'm attempting to synchronously read from a CFReadStream objected created by CFStreamCreatePairWithSocketToHost. The stream opened fine but when I attempt to invoke CFReadStreamRead on it in a loop, CFReadStreamRead() returns -1 and the resulting error is: Error Domain=kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork Code=2 "The operation couldn’t be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error 2.)" UserInfo=0x14a920 {kCFGetAddrInfoFailureKey=8} I'm also receiving this same exact error when using this ReadStream asynchronously- the first callback I receive is this error.

  I have a third party web service that returns this xml <book> <release_date>0000-00-00</release_date> </book> I am trying to deserialize it into this class public class Book { [XmlElement("release_date")] public DateTime ReleaseDate { get; set; } } But because 0000-00-00 isn't a valid DateTime, I get a FormatException. What's the best way to handle this?

See 'git --help' Did you mean this? shell rakudo $ git-pull -bash: git-pull: command not found I've tried reinstalling via macports, but to no avail. Then I saw this rakudo $ git --exec-path /Users/ovid/libexec/git-core That surprised me as that directory does not exist, nor has it ever existed. Google is not helping here. Hopefully you can :)

  In the documentation for MKReverseGeocoder, the administrativeArea property gives you the current state the user is in, and it mentions in an example that it returns EITHER the state name OR its abbreviation. I am wondering if anyone knows how to get the abbreviation instead of the full state name...I have been able to find nothing that shows this is even a possibility besides that brief example that doesn't mention HOW.   Dear All, my socket library which is implemented using winsock2 is working properly. But when ESET Nod32 installed on the computer, connect() function returns 0(zero) ,that is success, even if remote host is not available. I looked with netstat -b command and saw that ekrn.exe is accepting the client. And after couple of seconds it sends zero byte of information,which means graceful close.   Currently, on my R 2.10.1 installation on Windows XP, capabilities()["cairo"] returns False. Loading the package cairoDevice fails with the message "LoadLibrary failure" however the shared library "C:/Programme/R/R-2.10.1/library/cairoDevice/libs/cairoDevice.dll" is there. Any ideas how I can make cairo work on windows?

• slicing behaviour question of a list of lists

  I got a function like def f(): ... ... return [list1, list2] this returns a list of lists [[list1.item1,list1.item2,...],[list2.item1,list2.item2,...]] now when I do the following: for i in range(0,2):print f()[i][0:10] it works and print the lists sliced but if i do print f()[0:2][0:10] then it prints the lists ignoring the [0:10] slicing. Is there any way to make the second form work or do I have to loop every time to get the desired result?

  Hello all I was wondering how it's possible to find out if an image in the iPhone photo library is isotropic or anisotropic. Basically how many millimeters each pixel measures in height and in width. In JPG images the information is hardcoded into the data stream so it's possible to do by simply pointing a const char* to the image file, but I'm not sure I can do that with the data the iPhone image returns. • Getting rid of the evil delay caused by ShellExecute

  This is something that's been bothering me a while and there just has to be a solution to this. Every time I call ShellExecute to open an external file (be it a document, executable or a URL) this causes a very long lockup in my program before ShellExecute spawns the new process and returns. Does anyone know how to solve or work around this? EDIT: And as the tags might indicate, this is on Win32 using C++.
