• cahoots - zend framework application is not running

  hello everyone, I downloaded cahoots from sourceforge.net. It is a zend framework application. Very nicely done and I must say that it should be a nice tutorial for everyone who is struggling to learn Zend framework. But my problem is that even after reading the instructions this application is still not running. The application just doesn't run at all giving an error message. I have tried my best. no success :( Also I wanted to execute the application as "http://localhost/cahoots" but it runs by this URL "http://localhost/cahoots/public". why is it so.? I am using XAMPP v 1.7.1 with mod-rewrite enabled. Please guide me through the process. Any good tutorials on zend framework with zend tool would be appreciable. I want to learn this framework. Important requirements are: Free (must have) WAR/EAR-deployable (must have; support team prefers to have all apps deployed same way) Nice UI (nice to have) UPDATE Since I wrote this, Atlassian has introduced a $10 (ten, not ten thousand!) version of JIRA for 10 developers. I think it's as good as it can get -- best issue tracker out there with all enterprise features, for the cost of a few coffees. I have bought it for my current group out of my own pocket (to avoid bureaucracy).

• How can I run an app's source code that I got from the Android source code?

  For all of you android devs out there that have the Android simulator running on your comp, you know that there are a few built in apps that are already 'installed' on your phone. I had an idea for an app that would utilize a function that is already being done in the spare parts app. I went on to the android developer site, dug through the source code files, and found the spare parts app, and am now trying to set it up so that running it from eclipse on my machine actually runs the app in the simulator. In other words, I want to be able to make changes to and adjust some of the things in that app for my own needs. But it won't compile, because of a number of different errors. How do I get that source code running on my local machine? Is there some special trick that I just dont know about? I thought that if I could get the source code than the rest would be easy, but it isn't being too easy. Any help here would be appreciated!!

  Hello, This question has been asked multiple times I know. From what I understand, broadly speaking, if I include a GPL module in my app, I have to also release my app's source code for free. Now if the module is a java app (which I have modified) and included in my own java app, and say I use it as an applet on my website, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users visiting the website? Can I distribute the code only to people who ask for it? If I sell my applet, do I need to distribute the source code to all the users or ONLY to the users who purchase my applet?   I'm using openssl BIO objects to convert a binary string into a base64 string. However the output is always 65, which is incorrect it should be much larger than that. The documentation isn't the best in the world, AFAIK the bio_s_mem object is supposed to grow dynamically. What am I doing wrong ?

  open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/var/www/vhosts/domain.com) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/domain.com/httpdocs:/tmp) How do I securely fix this? This is preventing me from listing and creating directories outside of the current directory. What I mean by securely is that I don't want to remove a piece of code from a configuration file and potentially make it easier for hackers to do whatever.

• Open Python shell through SSH

  I'm using this tool to set up a ssh server on Windows. I'm trying to open the standard Python shell through a remote ssh connection but I simply can't get it to work. If I type 'python' in my ssh command line nothing happens, it just seems to wait for more input. My server machine however, shows a new python process running after I do this. Running scripts works fine, though. Do I need to use another Python shell, some other ssh server, some different configs? Thanks

I want these metrics displayed on the map but then I want a link or button to view a full page description. I know that this is possible with Google Maps but I don't know a lot about Open Street Maps or other options.   I would like to license my project with the flowing conditions: Personal and educational usage of the program and its source codes is to be free. In case of publishing of derivative works the original work and author (me) must be mentioned (incl. textual link to my website in a not-very-far-hidden place) and the derivative work must have different name. A derivative work can be closed-source. In every case of commercial (when the end-user is a commercial body (as a company (expect of non-profit companies), an individual entrepreneur or government office)) usage of my work or any of derivative works made by anyone, the end-user, service provider or the derivative author must buy a commercial license from me. I mean no guarantees or resoinsibilities, either expressed or implied... (except the case when one explicitly purchases a support service contract from me and the particular contract specifies a responsibility). Is there a known common license for this case? May it be OSI-approved?

• flex open source sdk compile error of samples on linux

  I downloaded lastest version of flex open source sdk. I wanted to compile some samples specifically explorer example. At first build.sh gave me weird error and with little search I nailed it by converting all bash files and mxml files with dos2unix. It is file type error. However now I get this error ./build.sh Error: Could not resolve <mx:Script> to a component implementation. <mx:Script> When I execute build.sh, some of the samples give this weird error. I searched this error on the net, their solution is to add -Duser.language=en -Duser.region=US as jre parameters. However, this solution is for Turkish Windows XP. My system is Pardus, yet another linux distribution.

  Hi I'm about to release some software as open source. It uses Lucene (Apache license) and jopt simple (MIT license). Are there any constraints on the license that I am going to apply to my own software? In particular, it is an adaptation of Lucene for performing content-based search on audio (so, many classes are inherited and in one case copied with a little modification). It only uses jopt simple for handling command line arguments (i.e. no modification at all, just "import" and "new OptionParser..."). Thanks for your help Nicola Montecchio

  I am using CastleProject ActiveRecord and I use lazy load feature of this ORM. In order to make lazy load work, it is required to create SessionScope. I do this in Program.cs: public static SessionScope sessionScope; private static void InitializeActiveRecord() { ActiveRecordStarter.Initialize(); sessionScope = new SessionScope(); } This works fine for loading, however, when I try to save my objects, I get an exception saying "Illegal attempt to associate a collection with two open sessions". I guess this is due to the fact that I created one session myself. How to avoid this exception?

• Can GPL interface with MIT library
