  • Why is the XML DTD not found by the browser

    When I load my XML file in a browser, it complains there is 'no style information': "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." So I wrote an external DTD, then an internal DTD, but keep getting the same 'no style information' error. It doesn't even show the DTD!   • wmic output well formed xml on remote queries

    I want to use the WMI command line tool (wmic) to get information about windows computers on the network and output it as valid xml. However, I can't seem to find the right way to do this as the outputted xml currently contains invalid tokens for which I think I should use the /TRANSLATE:basicxml switch. The command: wmic /NODE:"tech-demo" /IMPLEVEL:Impersonate /USER:MyUser /PASSWORD:MyPassword /PRIVILEGES:DISABLE /AUTHLEVEL:Pkt /AUTHORITY:"ntlmdomain:companydomain.local" PATH Win32_LogicalDisk GET * /FORMAT:rawxml This command runs but returns invalid xml tokens ('<' and '' I think? edit: it appears to fail parsing at ‹) When I add the translate switch I get the message: Can not use credentials for local connections a bit strange that it tries to query the local pc when I add the switch.. Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there. I'm looking for a way to consume an XML feed from a web-service directly into PowerPoint 2010. I found the LiveWeb plugin (http://skp.mvps.org/liveweb.htm) for PowerPoint that, while pretty cool, really only pulls in actual web content in a way that feels more like an iframe. Ideally, I would like to consume raw XML web service/feed with PowerPoint, parse it, and stylize the results. Is this possible? Even reading from a static XML file would be a good start.

    I am trying to write a VB Script to read a XML file (downloaded daily) and insert the information into a MSSQL DB. The content of the XML is a list if CDRs (Call Data Records). I need to parse the file and insert the cdr's into a table. I'm a Ruby,Perl,PHP,Javascript,SQL,... programer. But I've really never written any VB Script. I've done some googling and find a number of examples on how to generate XML from a SQL Query, but not the reverse. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Is Berkeley DB XML a viable database backend?

    Apparently, BDB-XML has been around since at least 2003 but I only recently stumbled upon it on Oracle's website: Berkeley DB XML. Here's the blurb: Oracle Berkeley DB XML is an open source, embeddable XML database with XQuery-based access to documents stored in containers and indexed based on their content. Oracle Berkeley DB XML is built on top of Oracle Berkeley DB and inherits its rich features and attributes. Like Oracle Berkeley DB, it runs in process with the application with no need for human administration. Oracle Berkeley DB XML adds a document parser, XML indexer and XQuery engine on top of Oracle Berkeley DB to enable the fastest, most efficient retrieval of data. To me it seems that the underlying ideas are technically sound and probably more mature than the newer document-based DBs like CouchDB or MongoDB. It has support for C, C++, Ruby and Perl, as far as I can determine. It even has HA-capabilities like automatic replication using a master/slave model with automatic election. However, I can't seem to find any projects that use it. Is there something fundamentally wrong with it? Is the license too onerous? Is it too complicated? Why is it not being used?

  • Android app crashes when I change the default xml layout file to another

    I am currently just starting to learn android development and have created a basic "Hello world" app that uses "activity_main.xml" for the default layout. I tried to create a new layout xml file called "new_layout.xml" with a text view, a text field and a button and did the following changes in the MainActivity.java file: setContentView(R.layout.new_layout); I did nothing else expect for adding a new_layout.xml in the res/layout folder, I have tried restarting and cleaning the project but nothing. Wufoo generates a lovely XML (or json) file that can be grabed and parsed. I'm trying to grab the entries xml feed that is associated with the form and parse it via jquery to show who has entered.     I am using a 3rd-party .NET component which requires an XML configuration file. I'm am using this in an ASP.NET application. I get an error when configure the XML with the following dtd: <!DOCTYPE prod-config SYSTEM "prod-config.dtd"> The error is as follows: For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the ProhibitDtd property on XmlReaderSettings to false and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method. prod-config.dtd is sitting in the same directory as the XML config file. I don't have access to the component code to modify XmlReaderSettings, ProhibitDtd etc. Is there anotherway I can modify or tag the XML file to permit the DTD to be accessed? (FYI, the component is Oracle Coherence .NET client)

The configurator is packaged in a zip file that contains the complete Java environment to run standalone. Once the package is downloaded and unzipped it’s simply a matter of launching it using the config command or shell depending on your runtime environment. Oracle Appliance Manager Configurator is a Java-based tool that enables you to input your deployment plan and validate your network settings before an actual deployment, or you can just preview and experiment with it. Simply download and run the configurator on a local client system which can be a Windows, Linux, or UNIX system. (For Windows launch the batch file config.bat for Linux/Unix environments, run  ./ config.sh). You will be presented with the very same dialogs and options used to configure a production ODA but on your workstation. At the end of a configurator session, you may save your deployment plan in a configuration file.   • Oracle 10g for Windows does not start up on system boot

    We have an Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition installation (10.2.0.1.0) on a Windows Server 2003 virtual machine. It was initially created with Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 but has now been migrated to Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V. The services start on system boot, but the instance does not start up. Right now I have a horrible hack where I've created a Scheduled Task to run oradim -startup -sid ORCL when the Administrator account logs on, and set the VM to auto-logon. I'd still like to work out why it's not working.

    I am very new to Oracle, and trying to restore a oracle 8i database on win 2000 server. I have one week old database backup (backup taken with exp command), and i want to restore it now. Now I am unable to login through sqlplus (got shutdown in progress error) I have a backup and i want to restore it, but oracle is not starting at all, and 'imp' command is failing. I started sqlplus / as sysdba and following is the log of what i am trying to do. Can some one guide me further. SQL> shutdown immediate; ORA-01109: database not open Database dismounted. ORACLE instance shut down. SQL> startup; ORACLE instance started.   • Oracle 10g for Windows does not start up on system boot

    We have an Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition installation (10.2.0.1.0) on a Windows Server 2003 virtual machine. It was initially created with Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 but has now been migrated to Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V. The services start on system boot, but the instance does not start up. This problem was actually occurring on Virtual Server after a migration from one server to another, but I managed to fix it then with: oradim -edit -sid ORCL -startmode auto However, this now has no effect. oradim.log (in %OracleHome%\database\oradim.log) says: Thu Jun 10 14:14:48 2010 C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_3\bin\oradim.exe -startup -sid orcl -usrpwd * -log oradim.log -nocheck 0 Thu Jun 10 14:14:48 2010 ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error sqlnet.log in the same folder has: Fatal NI connect error 12560, connecting to: (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=BEQ)(PROGRAM=oracle)(ARGV0=oracleorcl)(ARGS='(DESCRIPTION=(LOCAL=YES)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=beq)))'))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=orcl)(CID=(PROGRAM=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_3\bin\oradim.exe)(HOST=ORACLE-VM)(USER=SYSTEM)))) VERSION INFORMATION: TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production Oracle Bequeath NT Protocol Adapter for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.2.0.1.0 - Production Time: 10-JUN-2010 14:14:48 Tracing not turned on. The problem also occurs when stopping and restarting the OracleServiceORCL service. [10-JUN-2010 15:09:34.419] snlpcall: exit On a hunch that error 2 is Windows error 2 (file not found) I tried restarting the service with Process Monitor watching oradim.exe, but this appears to delay things just enough that it always works. Right now I have a horrible hack where I've created a Scheduled Task to run oradim -startup -sid ORCL when the Administrator account logs on, and set the VM to auto-logon. I'd still like to work out why it's not working.

    I am very new to Oracle, and trying to restore a oracle 8i database on win 2000 server. I have one week old database backup (backup taken with exp command), and i want to restore it now. Now I am unable to login through sqlplus (got shutdown in progress error) I have a backup and i want to restore it, but oracle is not starting at all, and 'imp' command is failing. I started sqlplus / as sysdba and following is the log of what i am trying to do. Can some one guide me further. SQL> shutdown immediate; ORA-01109: database not open Database dismounted. ORACLE instance shut down. SQL> startup; ORACLE instance started.
