  • Disable ipv6 support completely on debian squeeze 6.0.5

    I want to disable ipv6 support completely on debian squeeze 6.0.5. In many other posts I have seen setting the parameter net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1 in /etc/sysctl.conf should disable it. I've set that parameter and rebooted, but netstat -natp shows me that the ntp deamon is still using ipv6: udp6 0 0 :::123 :::* 0 7983 3138/ntpd Is there anything else I need to configure?

  • Firefox password autocomplete

    Hi, i have a problem with Firefox autocomplete in login forms. When i enter a password and a username for the first time it asks me if i want to remember them, i click on "remember" and it saves the data, but when i log out and then return to the login page it shows me nothing. The password is autocompleted only after i enter the username. Is there a way to do the autocomplete immediately like in any other browser?

  • whois returns correct changed date but wrong nameservers

    I was just told by 1&1 customer support that "the date in the whois could show correctly while the nameservers information being the old one" I though the whole document was stamped at once, not "built" from different data sources. Am I being lied to? or how is that possible? The site is not visible yet, the whois shows correct date the change was made, and the nameservers are still wrong in that report/record/document and of course in the world's dns servers.

    Although a good tool OpenDB hasn't been updated since 12/2008. The source code shows some recent activity, but still sparse at best. Anyone know of good web based cataloging alternatives? I'm looking to catalog the 500+ software CD's we have. Also, as a side note. OpenDB will handle software, but you have to create a custom media type, which is a PAIN!!!

  • Linux Software RAID1 Rebuild Completes, but after reboot, its degraded again

    I have been beating my head with an issue here, and I'm now turning to the internet for help. I have a system running Mandrake Linux, with the following configuration: /dev/hda - This is a IDE drive. Has some partitions on it that boot the system and make up most of the file system. /dev/sda - This is drive 1 of 2 for a software raid /dev/md0 /dev/sdb - This is drive 2 of 2 for a software raid /dev/md0 md0 gets mounted but fstab as /data-storage, so it is not critical to the systems ability to boot. We can comment it out of fstab, and the system works just fine either way. The problem is, we have a failed sdb drive. So I shut the box down, and have pulled the failed disk and installed a new disk. When the system boots up, /proc/mdstat shows only sda as part of the raid. I then run the various command to rebuild the RAID to /dev/sdb. Everything rebuilds correctly, and upon completion, you look at /proc/mdstat and it shows 2 drives sda1(0) and sdb1(1). Everything looks great. Then you reboot the box ... UGH!!! Once rebooted, sdb is missing again from the RAID. It is like the rebuild never happened. I can walk through the commands to rebuild it again, and it will work, but again, after reboot, the box seems to make sdb just vanish! The real odd thing is, if after reboot, I pull sda out of the box, and try to get the system to load with the rebuilt sdb drive in the system, and when I do, the system actually throws and error just after grub, and says something about drive error, and the system has to shut down. Thoughts??? I'm starting to wonder if grub has something to do with this mess. That the drive isn't being setup within grub to be visible at boot? This RAID array isn't necessary for the system to boot, but when the replacement drive is in there, without SDA it won't boot system, so it makes me believe there is something to that. On top of that, there just seems to be something wonky here the drive falling off of RAID after reboot. I've hit the point of pounding my head on the keyboard. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

  • Cannot Delete Shortcut from Desktop because I need Admin Permissions even though I am Admin

    Installing the new Malwarebytes 2.0 put a shortcut on my desktop that I want to remove, but dragging it to the recycle bin shows this message: I am an administrator on this computer, so normally clicking "Continue" solves the problem, but it didn't work here. Instead, I got this message. How can I resolve this? I have tried using the built in super administrator account to remove it, but that does not work either.

  • ISPconfig3 + CentOS 6.2 , confused on how to move forward after initial install?

    I installed ISPCONFIG3 on centos 6.2 using the great guide on howtoforge.com. Everything is up and running and I can access ISPCONFIG via a browser. However I am not sure how to move forward with the initial setup so I can setup the very first account and get my website live. Details: Only have 1 server, the centos+ispconfig is running on a virtual machine of XEN XCP. I setup the server name to be server1.mydomain.com. I only have 2 usable ips. I plan to use them as follows: xx.xx.xx.01 : For my website and the websites of all accounts I add. xx.xx.xx.02 : For ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com (Yea I know they should be different ips at different locations, but this is what I have to work with at the moment.... ) I registered the nameservers at my registrar with the .02 ip. I want to use bind and ISPconfig to run the DNS on my server itself and not via my registrar. Right now if I go to the .01 IP it shows the centos+apache successful install page. So to break it down basically I am not sure where to start when it comes to: (What to consider and what to do to setup the first domain on the server) Telling bind to use the name server domains with .02. Setting up my First website(which will be my main website) in ISPconfig so mydomain.com resolves properly to my server. Make it so when you go to the .01 IP, it either redirects or shows the contents of my main website. (If this can't be done, then any advice is appreciated) Making sure that when I add a new domain, it automatically puts in the proper information for the domain so it points to the right mail, database, dns, entry. If I overlooked a tutorial then please feel free to let me know, and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Some of the tutorials I found were not specific to doing everything on only one server with Centos+Apache+Bind. Right now all I did was install centos and install ISPconfig3. Trying to move forward correctly so I don't mess up everything I did by not knowing what to do. Thank you in advance!!

  • CD Burned in XP isn't readable in Vista

    I burned a CD on XP using the built-in burning software and I can read the CD on that machine, but when I insert it into my Vista machine, I can't read the files. It shows the correct volume label, and the correct 'free space', but I can't access the actual files. Am I missing something obvious? (Both systems are fully up-to-date)

  • Why does my monitor have a black screen but the power light is blinking green?

    I have a ViewSonic VA912b 19" display I use as a secondary monitor. When I turn it on, the power light is green for a few seconds, and then switches to blinking green. The display stays black. Windows thinks the monitor is on, as it shows up in the control panel as a second monitor. If I unplug the DVI cable, it displays a "No Signal" message and the power light goes to amber, which means it went to sleep.

But even if only 8 columns are shown, there are plenty of other properties (as foo | gm is showing). What is causing this function to show only this 8 properties? I'm actually trying to build a similar function that is returning complex objects from a 3rd party .Net library. The library is flatting a 2 level hierarchy of objects : function Actual { $someDotnetObject.ACollectionProperty.ASecondLevelCollection | % { $_ } } This method is dumping the objects in a list form (one line per property). How can I control what is displayed, keeping the actual object available?   • Watching Netflix through a VPN

    Recently I bought a VPS from DigitalOcean. I setup a PPTP VPN so I could watch us Netflix content from outside the US. Now that I have it setup and all my traffic is going through the VPN, Netflix is still showing my home country content. Pandora is working, and when I search my IP it shows im in NY, so I guess traffic is being routed correctly. I have also tried to delete flash settings and cookies from browser. Any ideas on what could be happening?

  • Make Excel 2007 open hyperlinks in Firefox

    In Excel 2007, when I click a hyperlink, it opens in IE. I'm running XP Professional SP3. Firefox is set as my default browser. Links in Word and Outlook open in Firefox. But Excel opens them in IE. Anyone know how to fix it? Edit: Process Explorer shows the command line for IE to be "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -Embedding Thanks!

What I would like to do is the following - Create Tasks, Sub Tasks in a way that the SubTasks are hidden beneath the tasks with a "+" sign for the Tasks, which when expanded, shows the SubTasks.     There is one big issue for me with Doc in OSX - it does not shows you if more than one window opened in application For example - I were browsing with firefox and some site opens a background window with some sounds - and I have no idea where it comes from - Dock does not tell you if some application opens more than one window.. Is there a way (or some application) that can add some mark to application icon in Dock if it has more than one window open?

I would like to get rid of all traces of MySQL and install it as if it was the first installation. I'v already deleted the MySQL folder, but I still having the same problem. I've been working on this now for a few hours (reading manuals and such) so I'm not just coming here right out of the blue. I am working on a PRE-EXISTING Nagios server where there are several other existing plugins and checks running and working. Now I want to add another server there to check so I made the following modifications: First and foremost, I added a file to /usr/local/nagios/libexec named: check_equallogic.sh. The permissions are 755, the same as all others. I have chowned to nagios:nagios and in the listing it shows the Owner as Nagios. I then added a command to the commands.cfg file in \usr\local\nagios\etc\objects that shows the following: # 'check_equallogic' command definition define command{ command_name check_equallogic command_line $USER1$/check_equallogic -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -C $ARG1$ -t $ARG2$ $ARG3$ } Following this, I created a file named equallogic.cfg in the objects directory and it contains (more or less): define host{ use linux-server ; Inherit default values from a template host_name 172.16.50.11 ; The name we're giving to this device alias EqualLogic ; A longer name associated with the device address 172.16.50.11 ; IP address of the device contact_groups admins } Check Equallogic Information define service{ use generic-service host_name 172.16.50.11 service_description General Information check_command check_equallogic!public!info } After ensuring that permissions are okay for all files, I restart the nagios service, no errors. When I go into the WebGUI, I get the following errors AFTER the check runs: (Return code of 127 is out of bounds - plugin may be missing) Extra, probably unrelated problem Furthermore, when I log into the EquilLogic server, under Audit logs I get the following error: Level: AUDIT Time: 26/05/2014 3:59:13 PM Member: ps4100-1 Subsystem: agent Event ID: 22.7.1 SNMP packet validation failed, request received from 172.16.10.11 An snmpwalk receives a timeout, whereas others succeed. I will work on importing the MIBs tomorrow. The reason why I am mentioning it is because I want to make sure that it is only a MIB issue for the SNMP. If it is, then ignore this area. I am entirely unsure of what to do here.

    Hi, MS Word 2007 files have a property page for entering details like summary and title. This is displayed when you hover over the documents on Desktop. Now on my Windows XP SP2 computer, inside Windows Explorer, it shows the special properties for all such files from Desktop, but not from the Network Drives.   • Windows Server 2003 port forwarding

    Using the "netsh interface portproxy" I added a port forwarding to a Windows Server 2k3. The command "netsh interface portproxy show all" shows the added forwarding. On the other hand, any client connecting to the incoming port will receive a "connection refused" message. netstat also doesn't show the incoming port as listening. The machine firewall is disabled. There is any other way to setup port forwarding on Windows or debugging tips?

    I am using Ubuntu 10.04, kernel 2.6.32-21-generic, with Evolution 2.83.3. I have noticed that when I get a new email, it never shows a new mail icon in the panel. I had the same problem with 9.10, and I thought the problem would go away when I upgraded to 10.04. I have checked the properties in Mail preferences: Play sound - yes Display a notification - yes Indicate new messages in panel - yes Many thanks for any suggestions.

    I need a freeware to monitor my internet activity, especially upload and download amounts over time. For instance, I like to see a graph or table that shows the downloaded and uploaded amounts per day, week or month and in total for a selected period. OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7 Edit: I don't need to see the traffic program by program. I'm not interested in which program accesses the internet, but I'm interested in monitoring my incoming and outgoing data amounts using a light-weight freeware.
