• Bazaar merge identical files

  I have two Bazaar (bzr) repositories that have very similar content. I'm trying to identify the differences and incrementally synchronize. My current strategy is to bzr add files to both repos and then use bzr merge to identify and resolve conflicts. The problem is that even if the file contents are identical it creates a conflict and a .moved file. What can I do to stop these conflicts or use a better workflow?

• USB mouse disconnecting and reconnecting randomly and often

  Specs: Q6600, evga 780I sli mobo, 4gig RAM, logitech MX518, windows 7 64bit, evga gtx 260, 650W power supply (single rail) The problem I am having is my mouse will reconnect/disconnect (will even hear the sounds from windows) and the light on the bottom of the mouse will turn off/turn on as it starts working again. It really sucks to be playing a game (and happens on desktop as well) for the mouse to just die out for a few seconds and come back. Sometimes it will not happen for days and other times it will do it 2 or more times within 15 seconds. I have tried two different wired mice, have tried multiple USB ports (on front of computer, back of computer, have also used a USB hub and have also plugged in a card that connects to the USB connectors on the motherboard and adds a few usb ports to the back of the computer, and I also bought a USB 2.0 PCI card and that did not help). Nothing else seems to reconnect like this, my usb keyboard has never once cut out like the mouse does and neither have any of the other devices I have connected (webcam, usb hub, various devices sometimes connected through usb cables, and IR reciever for windows media center remote). I have disconnected all usb devices except for my keyboard and mouse and the problem still occurs. I guess it could be something wrong with my motherboard but since no other devices behave similarly I'm just hoping that it is some kind of driver conflict. Installing logitech's drivers has had no effect. It seemed at first that if I go to device manager and uninstall HID-compliant mouse (that and logitech mx518 are listed) that would fix it but it doesn't seem to work anymore or at least not every time (it keeps reinstalling). I have googled "usb mouse disconnects and reconnects" and it seems to be fairly common but none of those were resolved. To stick some easy steps: It happens with or without the drivers installed It has happened with multiple mice on the same computer Bios is the latest version (P08) Motherboard drivers are the latest version Device manager is listing no problems on any USB devices Happens with every usb port, even addon usb cards Happens when all usb devices aside from mouse and keyboard are unplugged I read that maybe it is an IRQ conflict and I tried to look into that but did not really know what was going on, but didn't see anything obviously wrong. • OpenVPN/Tunnelblick through wireless router, no connection.

• Automount of AFP shares on Lion clients from OS X Snow Leopard server - not working right

  Recently upgraded Snow Leopard clients to Lion. AFP shares are set up as login items. The network shares on some of the machines now take a long time to come up (10 minutes). Several machines that were upgraded are acting normally, and three machines with clean installs of Lion (not upgraded) are also working normally. • Installing ArchLinux into Ubuntu 12.04 root

  Is it possible to install 2 linux distros into 1 root, so they share same uuid and guid, configs and packages + same user /home folder ? For example: I have Ubuntu and Windows 7 already in dual boot on my laptop. Could I install Arch's base, base-devel and kernel, so it won't conflict with Ubuntu on the same root folder? P.S I don't feel like repartitioning my drive again, 'cause there's very complicated hierarchy, which occupies the entire disk. =)

  Is it possible (and how?) to change what the home directory is in a hosting environment? For instance, my current home directory is /home/accountname/, but I would like to develop a second version of the site in /home/accountname/cms/ (to avoid filename conflict, etc.), and then make the domain point there. Do I have to do that through the domain registrar, or can I do that in cPanel?

• Reset MAAS after loosing Juju configuration?

  I managed to delete my Juju client cofiguration without running a juju destroy-environment first, leaving my MaaS in a state where I could not deploy to it. I would get the following (conflicting) output $ juju bootstrap ERROR environment is already bootstrapped $ juju status ERROR Unable to connect to environment "". Please check your credentials or use 'juju bootstrap' to create a new environment. Error details: no instances found So, I tried running juju destroy-environment with the new config, to see if it would clean up the old Juju environment on the MaaS system. It gave me the error "ERROR gomaasapi: got error back from server: 409 CONFLICT". I went into the MaaS GUI and stopped the leftover machines, and then deleted all the nodes and had then go through the discovery and commissioning stages again, but I still got the same errors after all that! Is there a way to reset this?

• Got an idea for an application, but part of it is patented, any suggestions?

  Hi there, so I've been working on developing an idea for an application that I think has the potential to be successful, however after some initial research I've discovered that at least part of my ideas are covered by a patent out there, the patent in particular is held by a really large company (I don't want to give away specifics for fear I'd draw their attention for sure). I'm debating a few options: 1) Develop patents around my ideas that don't conflict and maybe approach the company in question for a license exchange 2) Just approach them for a license outright 3) Just develop around it anyways and hope for the best :-p What have other people done in these situations? Are companies generally willing to grant patent licenses? Are they willing to grant them at reasonable prices? Thoughts?

• Ardour won't rewind when jack time master

  Using Ubuntu Studio 12.04, ardour will not rewind when it is set to the jack time master. I've read that this could be due to a jack/ardour version conflict, but I am not sure what the correct combo should be. The same thing happens with "ardour 2.8.14 (built from revision 13065)" and "ardour 2.8.12 (built from revision 10144)". The latter is the default installation with ubuntu studio 12.04 LTS.
