  • Database Replication check script not running

    - by Tarun
    I'm trying to create a Database Replication checking script but I'm getting error while executing it. Here is the script #!/bin/bash PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin export PATH #Server Name Server="Test Server" #My Sql Username and Password User=root Password="a" #Maximum Slave Time Delay Delay="60" #File Path to store error and email the same Log_File=/tmp/replicationcheck.txt #Email Settings Subject="$Server Replication Error" Sender_Name=TestServer Recipients="[email protected]" #Mail Alert Function mailalert(){ sendmail -F $Sender_Name -it <<END_MESSAGE To: $Recipients Subject: $Subject $Message_Replication_Error `/bin/cat $Log_File` END_MESSAGE } #Show Slave Status Show_Slave_Status=`echo "show slave status \G;" | mysql -u $User -p$Password 2>&1` #Getting list of queries in mysql $Show_Slave_Status | grep "Last_" > $Log_File #Check if slave running $Show_Slave_Status | grep "Slave_IO_Running: No" if [ "$?" -eq "0" ]; then Message_Replication_Error="$Server Replication error please check.   • Bash Shell Scripting Errors: ./myDemo: 56: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string [EDITED]

    - by ???
Could someone take a look at this code and find out what's wrong with it? #!/bin/sh while : do echo " Select one of the following options:" echo " d or D) Display today's date and time" echo " l or L) List the contents of the present working directory" echo " w or W) See who is logged in" echo " p or P) Print the present working directory" echo " a or A) List the contents of a specified directory" echo " b or B) Create a backup copy of an ordinary file" echo " q or Q) Quit this program" echo " Enter your option and hit <Enter>: \c" read option case "$option" in d|D) date ;; l|L) ls $PWD ;; w|w) who ;; p|P) pwd ;; a|A) echo "Please specify the directory and hit <Enter>: \c" read directory if [ "$directory = "q" -o "Q" ] then exit 0 fi while [ ! -d "$directory" ] do echo "Usage: "$directory" must be a directory." echo "Re-enter the directory and hit <Enter>: \c" read directory if [ "$directory" = "q" -o "Q" ] then exit 0 fi done printf ls "$directory" ;; b|B) echo "Please specify the ordinary file for backup and hit <Enter>: \c" read file if [ "$file" = "q" -o "Q" ] then exit 0 fi while [ ! -f "$file" ] do echo "Usage: \"$file\" must be an ordinary file." echo "Re-enter the ordinary file for backup and hit <Enter>: \c" read file if [ "$file" = "q" -o "Q" ] then exit 0 fi done cp "$file" "$file.bkup" ;; q|Q) exit 0 ;; esac echo done exit 0 There are some syntax errors that I can't figure out. However I should note that on this unix system echo -e doesn't work (don't ask me why I don't know and I don't have any sort of permissions to change it and even if I wouldn't be allowed to) Bash Shell Scripting Error: "./myDemo ./myDemo: line 62: syntax error near unexpected token done' ./myDemo: line 62: " [Edited] EDIT: I fixed the while statement error, however now when I run the script some things still aren't working correctly. It seems that in the b|B) switch statement cp $file $file.bkup doesn't actually copy the file to file.bkup ? In the a|A) switch statement ls "$directory" doesn't print the directory listing for the user to see ? #!/bin/bash while $TRUE do echo " Select one of the following options:" echo " d or D) Display today's date and time" echo " l or L) List the contents of the present working directory" echo " w or W) See who is logged in" echo " p or P) Print the present working directory" echo " a or A) List the contents of a specified directory" echo " b or B) Create a backup copy of an ordinary file" echo " q or Q) Quit this program" echo " Enter your option and hit <Enter>: \c" read option case "$option" in d|D) date ;; l|L) ls pwd ;; w|w) who ;; p|P) pwd ;; a|A) echo "Please specify the directory and hit <Enter>: \c" read directory if [ ! -d "$directory" ] then while [ ! -d "$directory" ] do echo "Usage: "$directory" must be a directory." echo "Specify the directory and hit <Enter>: \c" read directory if [ "$directory" = "q" -o "Q" ] then exit 0 elif [ -d "$directory" ] then ls "$directory" else continue fi done fi ;; b|B) echo "Specify the ordinary file for backup and hit <Enter>: \c" read file if [ ! -f "$file" ] then while [ ! -f "$file" ] do echo "Usage: "$file" must be an ordinary file." echo "Specify the ordinary file for backup and hit <Enter>: \c" read file if [ "$file" = "q" -o "Q" ] then exit 0 elif [ -f "$file" ] then cp $file $file.bkup fi done fi ;; q|Q) exit 0 ;; esac echo done exit 0 Another thing... is there an editor that I can use to auto-parse code? I.e something similar to NetBeans?

  • Secure Your Wireless Router: 8 Things You Can Do Right Now

    - by Chris Hoffman
A security researcher recently discovered a backdoor in many D-Link routers, allowing anyone to access the router without knowing the username or password. This isn’t the first router security issue and won’t be the last. To protect yourself, you should ensure that your router is configured securely. This is about more than just enabling Wi-Fi encryption and not hosting an open Wi-Fi network. Disable Remote Access Routers offer a web interface, allowing you to configure them through a browser. The router runs a web server and makes this web page available when you’re on the router’s local network. However, most routers offer a “remote access” feature that allows you to access this web interface from anywhere in the world. Even if you set a username and password, if you have a D-Link router affected by this vulnerability, anyone would be able to log in without any credentials. If you have remote access disabled, you’d be safe from people remotely accessing your router and tampering with it. To do this, open your router’s web interface and look for the “Remote Access,” “Remote Administration,” or “Remote Management” feature. Ensure it’s disabled — it should be disabled by default on most routers, but it’s good to check. Update the Firmware Like our operating systems, web browsers, and every other piece of software we use, router software isn’t perfect. The router’s firmware — essentially the software running on the router — may have security flaws. Router manufacturers may release firmware updates that fix such security holes, although they quickly discontinue support for most routers and move on to the next models. Unfortunately, most routers don’t have an auto-update feature like Windows and our web browsers do — you have to check your router manufacturer’s website for a firmware update and install it manually via the router’s web interface. Check to be sure your router has the latest available firmware installed. Change Default Login Credentials Many routers have default login credentials that are fairly obvious, such as the password “admin”. If someone gained access to your router’s web interface through some sort of vulnerability or just by logging onto your Wi-Fi network, it would be easy to log in and tamper with the router’s settings. To avoid this, change the router’s password to a non-default password that an attacker couldn’t easily guess. Some routers even allow you to change the username you use to log into your router. Lock Down Wi-Fi Access If someone gains access to your Wi-Fi network, they could attempt to tamper with your router — or just do other bad things like snoop on your local file shares or use your connection to downloaded copyrighted content and get you in trouble. Running an open Wi-Fi network can be dangerous. To prevent this, ensure your router’s Wi-Fi is secure. This is pretty simple: Set it to use WPA2 encryption and use a reasonably secure passphrase. Don’t use the weaker WEP encryption or set an obvious passphrase like “password”. Disable UPnP A variety of UPnP flaws have been found in consumer routers. Tens of millions of consumer routers respond to UPnP requests from the Internet, allowing attackers on the Internet to remotely configure your router. Flash applets in your browser could use UPnP to open ports, making your computer more vulnerable. UPnP is fairly insecure for a variety of reasons. To avoid UPnP-based problems, disable UPnP on your router via its web interface. If you use software that needs ports forwarded — such as a BitTorrent client, game server, or communications program — you’ll have to forward ports on your router without relying on UPnP. Log Out of the Router’s Web Interface When You’re Done Configuring It Cross site scripting (XSS) flaws have been found in some routers. A router with such an XSS flaw could be controlled by a malicious web page, allowing the web page to configure settings while you’re logged in. If your router is using its default username and password, it would be easy for the malicious web page to gain access. Even if you changed your router’s password, it would be theoretically possible for a website to use your logged-in session to access your router and modify its settings. To prevent this, just log out of your router when you’re done configuring it — if you can’t do that, you may want to clear your browser cookies. This isn’t something to be too paranoid about, but logging out of your router when you’re done using it is a quick and easy thing to do. Change the Router’s Local IP Address If you’re really paranoid, you may be able to change your router’s local IP address. For example, if its default address is 192.168.0.1, you could change it to 192.168.0.150. If the router itself were vulnerable and some sort of malicious script in your web browser attempted to exploit a cross site scripting vulnerability, accessing known-vulnerable routers at their local IP address and tampering with them, the attack would fail. This step isn’t completely necessary, especially since it wouldn’t protect against local attackers — if someone were on your network or software was running on your PC, they’d be able to determine your router’s IP address and connect to it. Install Third-Party Firmwares If you’re really worried about security, you could also install a third-party firmware such as DD-WRT or OpenWRT. You won’t find obscure back doors added by the router’s manufacturer in these alternative firmwares. Consumer routers are shaping up to be a perfect storm of security problems — they’re not automatically updated with new security patches, they’re connected directly to the Internet, manufacturers quickly stop supporting them, and many consumer routers seem to be full of bad code that leads to UPnP exploits and easy-to-exploit backdoors. It’s smart to take some basic precautions. Image Credit: Nuscreen on Flickr

  • Can I use Ubuntu as a wireless media server which performs all decoding/processing server-side?

    - by AthloX
I want to setup UBUNTU 12.04 desktop as Home media server. I have window 7 netbook and UBUNTU 12.04lts laptop even a samsun galaxy note tablet (android). Two desktop in other room with dualboot win7 and ubuntu. SHARP AQUOS Plasma Tv with Wi-Fi connected. I want to install ubuntu as media server to stream audio/video files over wi-fi. Not only this i want this media server to use its own processing power to decode ans stream so that on remote end only file can play without using their own resource. Is it possible to use ubuntu as media server to stream files without making the remote end to use there own resource. I want only bandwidth of Wi-Fi to be use in this and media center hardware resource.Remote end gadget should use only speaker and screen and not processing power of their own. Please any suggestion is it possible to do so ?

  • Whats steps can I suggest to achieve the best Geolocation Result [migrated]

    - by Matt
We are using Geolocation (getCurrentPosition()) in a website to determine a users position when using our site from a mobile device. I want to write an article explaining how the user can obtain the best results. Am I correct in assuming: Enabling GPS will yield the best result when in rural areas (less buildings to obscure line of sight to the satelites) Enabling Wi-Fi will yield the best results when in urban areas (generally more Wi-Fi hotspots available) Is it true that Android phones have better results from silently harvesting Wi-Fi hotspot details? Any links to reference material on this are appreciated

  • My laptop does not have sound and the video reproduces it very rapidly. ubuntu 12.04

    - by user48221
Once my laptop was fallen and the wi-fi broke, lead her to repairing and when they returned me already it had wi-fi again, but I realized that it did not have sound. In sound configuration it could not raise him, to know if it was a problem of the horns I connected a few headphones and neither it was listened. Because of it I knew that it was a problem of the software, and another problem that I saw, it was that the video player was going too rapidly as if it was advancing him. Where it leads her to arranging they say that they did not touch anything of software, alone they repaired the device of the wi-fi. How I can fix it?

  • GRUB doesn't recognize partitions on one harddisk

    - by knizz
I have a dualboot computer with Windows Vista (on hd0) and Ubuntu 9.10. The bootloader is GRUB and the windows bootloader lets me decide between Vista and Ubuntu-Installation (broken WuBi). But now (i don't know why that changed) I can't use start the windows-bootloader anymore. I tried "ls" on the grub-prompt and it gave me a list like: (hd0) (hd1) (hd1,0) (hd1,1) (hd1,2) ... (fd0) It recognizes all partitions of hd1 (the ubuntu-harddisk) but not of hd0(the win-disk). .. WHY? • Bash completion doesn't work, or is ignoring what I've typed; but works for commands

    - by Neil Traft
Bash completion seems to be ignoring what I've typed (it tries to complete, but acts as if there's nothing under the cursor). I know I saw it work on this machine earlier today, but I'm not sure what has changed. Some examples: cd shows all directories under my current folder: $ cd co<tab><tab> cmake/ config/ doc/ examples/ include/ programs/ sandbox/ src/ .svn/ tests/ Commands like ls and less show all files and directories under my current folder: $ ls co<tab><tab> cmake/ config/ .cproject Doxyfile.in include/ programs/ README.txt src/ tests/ CMakeLists.txt COPYING.txt doc/ examples/ mainpage.dox .project sandbox/ .svn/ Even when I try to complete things from a different folder, it gives me only the results for my current folder (telling me that it is completely ignoring what I've typed): $ cd ~/D<tab><tab> cmake/ config/ doc/ examples/ include/ programs/ sandbox/ src/ .svn/ tests/ But it seems to be working fine for commands and variables: $ if<tab><tab> if ifconfig ifdown ifnames ifquery ifup $ echo $P<tab><tab> $PATH $PIPESTATUS $PPID $PS1 $PS2 $PS4 $PWD $PYTHONPATH I do have this bit in my .bashrc, and I have confirmed that my .bashrc is indeed getting sourced: if [ -f /etc/bash_completion ] && ! shopt -oq posix; then . /etc/bash_completion fi I've even tried manually executing that file, but it doesn't fix the problem: $ . /etc/bash_completion There was even one point in time where it was working for ls, but was not working for cd ... but I can't replicate that result now. Update: I also just discovered that I have terminals open from earlier that still work. I ran source .bashrc in one of them and afterwards completion was broken. Here is my .bashrc: # ~/.bashrc: executed by bash(1) for non-login shells. # see /usr/share/doc/bash/examples/startup-files (in the package bash-doc) # for examples # # Modified by Neil Traft #source ~/.profile # Allow globs to expand hidden files shopt -s dotglob nullglob # If not running interactively, don't do anything [ -z "$PS1" ] && return # don't put duplicate lines or lines starting with space in the history. # See bash(1) for more options HISTCONTROL=ignoreboth # append to the history file, don't overwrite it shopt -s histappend # for setting history length see HISTSIZE and HISTFILESIZE in bash(1) HISTSIZE=1000 HISTFILESIZE=2000 # check the window size after each command and, if necessary, # update the values of LINES and COLUMNS. shopt -s checkwinsize # If set, the pattern "**" used in a pathname expansion context will # match all files and zero or more directories and subdirectories. #shopt -s globstar # make less more friendly for non-text input files, see lesspipe(1) [ -x /usr/bin/lesspipe ] && eval "$(SHELL=/bin/sh lesspipe)" # set variable identifying the chroot you work in (used in the prompt below) if [ -z "$debian_chroot" ] && [ -r /etc/debian_chroot ]; then debian_chroot=$(cat /etc/debian_chroot) fi # Color the prompt export PS1="\[$(tput setaf 2)\]\u@\h:\[$(tput setaf 5)\]\W\[$(tput setaf 2)\] $\[$(tput sgr0)\] " # enable color support of ls and also add handy aliases if [ -x /usr/bin/dircolors ]; then test -r ~/.dircolors && eval "$(dircolors -b ~/.dircolors)" || eval "$(dircolors -b)" alias ls='ls --color=auto' #alias dir='dir --color=auto' #alias vdir='vdir --color=auto' alias grep='grep --color=auto' alias fgrep='fgrep --color=auto' alias egrep='egrep --color=auto' fi # Add an "alert" alias for long running commands. • Bash script not working on a new dedicated server

Recently I have migrated to the new dedicated server which is running on the same operating system - FreeBSD 8.2. I got a root account access and all permissions have been set properly. • How do I clear MVC client side validation errors when a cancel button is clicked when a user has inv

    - by Sci-fi
I have a partial view that is rendered within a main view. The partial view takes advantage of System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations and Html.EnableClientValidation(). A link is clicked, and div containing the partial view is displayed within a JQuery.Dialog(). I then click the save button without entering any text in my validated input field. This causes the client side validation to fire as expected, and display the '*required' message beside the invalid field. When the cancel button is clicked, I want to reset the client side MVC validation back to it's default state and remove any messages, ready for when the user opens the dialog again. Is there a recommended way of doing this?

  • Convert Markdown text to RTF, using Ruby and Pandoc?

    - by niteshade
    Playing with Ruby and Ruby-Pandoc. Seems like a nice tool, if I can get it to work. I'd like to convert some Markdown text (with embedded lists and other fanciness) to Rich Text. Here's the text I'm converting: Title === This is a paragraph. Hallelujah. Here comes a nested list. --- * List item 1 * List item 1.1 * List item 1.2 * List item 2 * List item 2.1 Here's my Ruby code... require 'pandoc-ruby' input = File.read(test.md) converter = PandocRuby.new(input, from: :markdown, to: :rtf) puts converter.convert ... which (after saving the output to a file) produces a document without anything but a title: Here's the code of the RTF file: {\pard \ql \f0 \sa180 \li0 \fi0 \b \fs36 Title\par} {\pard \ql \f0 \sa180 \li0 \fi0 This is a paragraph. Hallelujah.\par} {\pard \ql \f0 \sa180 \li0 \fi0 \b \fs32 Here comes a nested list.\par} {\pard \ql \f0 \sa0 \li360 \fi-360 \bullet \tx360\tab List item 1\par} {\pard \ql \f0 \sa0 \li360 \fi-360 \bullet \tx360\tab List item 1.1\par} {\pard \ql \f0 \sa0 \li360 \fi-360 \bullet \tx360\tab List item 1.2\par} {\pard \ql \f0 \sa0 \li360 \fi-360 \bullet \tx360\tab List item 2\par} {\pard \ql \f0 \sa0 \li360 \fi-360 \bullet \tx360\tab List item 2.1\sa180\par} In addition, even if it did show up in my RTF viewer (Mac TextEdit), the RTF code seems to have lost all list nesting. I don't know how to diagnose this, whether I have not stated necessary header information or something in Ruby-Pandoc. Thanks in advance!

  • vim-powerline colors are out of whack in urxvt

    - by komidore64

  • Explanation of the init.d/scripts Fedora

Below is a copy of vsftpd, i need some explanations of some of the scripts mentioned below in this script: #!/bin/bash # ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: vsftpd # Required-Start: $local_fs $network $named $remote_fs $syslog # Required-Stop: $local_fs $network $named $remote_fs $syslog # Short-Description: Very Secure Ftp Daemon # Description: vsftpd is a Very Secure FTP daemon. Any help would be apreciated Running Fedora 12 on my OS. Script copied from /etc/init.d/vsftpd Question III It says required starts are $local_fs $network $named $remote_fs $syslog but i cant see any where it checks for those.

  • Domain name made of keywords redirecting to main website's page

    - by ivanivan
Let's say I have a website called books.com where I sell books. I've read on Redirecting different domains to your main site that it's not a bad idea to register another domain that does a 301 redirect to my website, like booksforsale.com. Now, say I want to only target a specific category withing my website, like books.com/sci-fi/ so I register sci-fi-books.com and do a 301 redirect. Would this improve my search rankings? Thanks.

  • Authenticate VNC session with ConsolKit?

    - by lori
I have a linux machine running Fedora 16 in a cupboard. It has no screen or keyboard. I connect to it using a combination of vnc and ssh. Recently, after an update, I have had issues with authentication on the machine. If I vnc to it, the kde desktop pops up an error dialog every few minutes saying Authorization failed. Failed to obtain authentication. If I plug in a USB drive it fails to mount, Dolphin reports an authentication issue again. I have had limited success finding the solution. AFAICT, it is an issue with ConsoleKit deeming me to be a non-local user so it prevents authentication. This is the output from ck-list-sessions: $ ck-list-sessions Session5: unix-user = '1000' realname = 'steve' seat = 'Seat6' session-type = '' active = FALSE x11-display = ':1' x11-display-device = '' display-device = '' remote-host-name = '' is-local = FALSE on-since = '2012-09-16T08:07:03.137011Z' login-session-id = '1' I have tried to update my .vnc/xstartup script to include ck-launch-session as follows: $ cat ~/.vnc/xstartup #!/bin/sh exec ck-launch-session vncconfig -iconic & unset SESSION_MANAGER unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS export XKL_XMODMAP_DISABLE=1 OS=`uname -s` if [ $OS = 'Linux' ]; then case "$WINDOWMANAGER" in *gnome*) if [ -e /etc/SuSE-release ]; then PATH=$PATH:/opt/gnome/bin export PATH fi ;; esac fi if [ -x /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ]; then exec ck-launch-session /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc fi if [ -f /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc ]; then exec ck-launch-session sh /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc fi [ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources exec ck-launch-session xsetroot -solid grey exec ck-launch-session xterm -geometry 80x24+10+10 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" & exec ck-launch-session twm & This has not helped. How can I either authenticate myself to ConsoleKit, or trick it into believing I am a local user?

  • Kickstart CentOS 6 prompting for TCP/IP with network set to DHCP

  • FreeBSD rc.d script doesn't work when starting up

    - by kastermester
I am trying to write a rc.d script to startup the fastcgi-mono-server4 on FreeBSD when the computer starts up - in order to run it with nginx. The script works when I execute it while being logged in on the server - but when booting I get the following message: eval: -applications=192.168.50.133:/:/usr/local/www/nginx: not found The script looks as follows: #!/bin/sh # PROVIDE: monofcgid # REQUIRE: LOGIN nginx # KEYWORD: shutdown . /etc/rc.subr name="monofcgid" rcvar="monofcgid_enable" stop_cmd="${name}_stop" start_cmd="${name}_start" start_precmd="${name}_prestart" start_postcmd="${name}_poststart" stop_postcmd="${name}_poststop" command=$(which fastcgi-mono-server4) apps="192.168.50.133:/:/usr/local/www/nginx" pidfile="/var/run/${name}.pid" monofcgid_prestart() { if [ -f $pidfile ]; then echo "monofcgid is already running." exit 0 fi } monofcgid_start() { echo "Starting monofcgid." ${command} -applications=${apps} -socket=tcp:127.0.0.1:9000 & } monofcgid_poststart() { MONOSERVER_PID=$(ps ax | grep mono/4.0/fastcgi-m | grep -v grep | awk '{print $1}') if [ -f $pidfile ]; then rm $pidfile fi if [ -n $MONOSERVER_PID ]; then echo $MONOSERVER_PID > $pidfile fi } monofcgid_stop() { if [ -f $pidfile ]; then echo "Stopping monofcgid." kill $(cat $pidfile) echo "Stopped monofcgid." else echo "monofcgid is not running." exit 0 fi } monofcgid_poststop() { rm $pidfile } load_rc_config $name run_rc_command "$1" In case it is not already super clear, I am fairly new to both FreeBSD and sh scripts, so I'm kind of prepared for some obvious little detail I overlooked. I would very much like to know exactly why this is failing and how to solve it, but also if anyone has a better way of accomplishing this, then I am all open to ideas.

  • Windows network routing

    - by fabianvilers
Hi! I'm working by my customer premises and they let me connect my private laptop on a dedicated Wi-Fi for internet access. It's nice for external consultants. The only issue is that we can't connect on a remote server on port 25. I suppose this policy is set up to avoid infected computers sending spam from their network. As you can have guessed, this is something weird that I can't send mail at all. Fortunately, I've a 3G cell phone that I can connect by Bluetooth on my laptop. So when I want to send an e-mail, I have to disconnect from Wi-Fi, connect my phone, send the e-mail, disconnect phone and reconnect Wi-Fi. Kinda overhead. My question is: how can I tell Windows 7 to use the Wi-Fi for every out connection, but if it's a connection on port 25, use the cell phone network? With this solution, I could let my phone connected all day without having to switch again and again. Thanks a lot for your anwwers. Fabian

  • umask seems to vary by user

    - by paullb
I've got a development Ubuntu system for which I have several users: myself (with full sudo) and about 5 other users. (I've set up the system so everything in this respect is still at its default setting) I'm trying to set the system up so that multiple people can collaborate in a single directory by using grouing and I want the default permissions to be 664. However when some users edit files the permissions were 644. After a lot of investigating most users have a umask (checked at the prompt) of 0002 and when they create files they are 664 (as expected) but there are 2 (myself and one other) who have 0022 umask (so the files that come out are 644 and nobody else can write to them). I've looked everywhere but can't figure out why a couple users wind up with a different umask e.g. there is nothing the .bash_profile or anything like that) Any ideas for the source of the discrepancy? /etc/bashrc if [ $UID -gt 199 ] && [ "`id -gn`" = "`id -un`" ]; then umask 002 else umask 022 fi /etc/profile if [ $UID -gt 199 ] && [ "`id -gn`" = "`id -un`" ]; then umask 002 else umask 022 fi EDIT: My (bad) ~/.bashrc # .bashrc # Source global definitions if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then . /etc/bashrc fi # User specific aliases and functions export LANG=en_US.utf8 Other user (good) .bashrc # .bashrc # Source global definitions if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then . /etc/bashrc fi # User specific aliases and functions
