  • Linq Query - Average Time (DateTime data types)

    - by Jade
I have a database that has the following records in a DateTime field: 2012-04-13 08:31:00.000 2012-04-12 07:53:00.000 2012-04-11 07:59:00.000 2012-04-10 08:16:00.000 2012-04-09 15:11:00.000 2012-04-08 08:28:00.000 2012-04-06 08:26:00.000 I want to run a linq to sql query to get the average time from the records above. I tried the following: (From o In MYDATA Select o.SleepTo).Average() Since "SleepTo" is a datetime field I get an error on Average(). If I was trying to get the average of say an integer, the above linq query works. What do I need to do to get it to work for datetimes?

  • How to deserialize JSON text into a date type using Windows 8 JSON.parse?

    - by canderso
I'm building a Windows 8 Metro app (aka "Modern UI Style" or "Windows Store app") in HTML5/JavaScript consuming JSON Web Services and I'm bumping into the following issue: in which format should my JSON Web Services serialize dates for the Windows 8 Metro JSON.parse method to deserialize those in a date type? I tried: sending dates using the ISO-8601 format, (JSON.parse returns a string), sending dates such as "/Date(1198908717056)/" as explained here (same result). I'm starting to doubt that Windows 8's JSON.parse method supports dates as even when parsing the output of its own JSON.stringify method does not return a date type. Example: var d = new Date(); // => a new date var str = JSON.stringify(d); // str is a string => "\"2012-07-10T14:44:00.000Z\"" var date2 = JSON.parse(str); // date2 is a string => "2012-07-10T14:44:00.000Z"

  • Server.Transfer - What could be the issue here?

    - by Younes
We have implemented a website with the ability for the user to post his actioncode. This then will be checked by the code and when the user has a price the website will Server.Transfer him to another page. The strange thing here is that the user information will be submitted to the database and the actioncode can't be used again. Here we go... I have one user in this database that is inserted twice very fast after the first time he was added. This are the timestamps: 2010-04-23 07:54:41.133 2010-04-23 07:54:41.417 The insert statement is only called once from the code and the user gets Server.Transfered to the Price.aspx page where he sees what price he won. How can it be that this happened? I'm guessing the user hitted F5 but then he had to be very very fast... Thx!

  • No image displayed in Fancybox

    - by seansean11
I am having trouble getting fancybox to display its corresponding images on a website that I'm building http://www.nomadicdrift.com/test/kaniwa#events . It's a custom one page portfolio theme that I set up on the WordPress platform. If you follow the link to the events section you will see 1 figure item in a gallery like position. I have this image set up to work as a fancybox gallery, but when you click on it, it opens up the fancybox interface but does not place a image in the frame, even though it should. So this is the problem...the images do not show up in fancybox and instead I see just the frame. Here is the html that I'm displaying: <figure> <a class="fancybox" data-fancybox-type="Fashion Show de Paris, France" href="http://www.nomadicdrift.com/test/kaniwa/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/NM2.jpg"> <img class="attachment-evento wp-post-image" width="231" height="191" title="NM" alt="NM" src="http://www.nomadicdrift.com/test/kaniwa/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/NM2-231x191.jpg"> </a> <figcaption> <a class="fancybox" data-fancybox-type="Fashion Show de Paris, France" href="http://www.nomadicdrift.com/test/kaniwa/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/CEDESAN.jpg"> </a> <h4>Fashion Show de Paris, France</h4> </figcaption> </figure> I'm not going to bore you with the PHP that I used to get that output because I think the problem lies elsewhere. ***I have tried to set up a simple standard fancybox gallery on the site also, but it gives me thes same problem, leading me to believe that the problem is deeper than the html markup. I have also successfully used this same markup for a one thumbnail fancybox gallery on another site. I thought maybe it was due to some conflict in the .js files I'm using. I tried uninstalling all of my plugins/addons (which aren't too many) one by one and still had the same result. I have all of my personal javascript in the functions.js file, which is where I call the fancybox plugin using the standard $("a.fancybox").fancybox();. I have installed this plugin before on other sites and have searched extensively for an answer, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sean

  • Counting variables per observation per month in Sas.

    - by John
    Hey guys, a quick question, I have data of the following sort: Ticker _ Date _ Fem Analyst (dummy 1 if true) AA _ 04/2001 _ 1 AA _ 04/2001 _ 1 AA _ 04/2001 _ 1 AA _ 05/2002 _ 1 AA _ 05/2002 _ 1 AA _ 07/2002 _ 0 AA _ 04/2003 _ 1 and so on.. What I want to receive is the following: Ticker _ Date _ Number of fem analyst AA _ 04/2001 _ 3 AA _ 05/2002 _ 2 AA _ 07/2002 _ 0 AA _ 04/2003 _ 1 So an easy counting algorithm that allows me to count for the number of analysts per company per month (the date is in 01/04/2002 format but I also have a month count variable which can be used too) Any ideas?

  • Oracle date / order by question

    - by user561793
    I want to select a date from oracle table formatted like select (to_char(req_date,'MM/YYYY')) but I also want to order the result set on this date format. I want them to be ordered like dates not strings. Like this 09/2009 10/2009 11/2009 12/2009 01/2010 02/2010 03/2010 04/2010 05/2010 06/2010 07/2010 08/2010 09/2010 10/2010 11/2010 12/2010 Not like 01/2010 02/2010 03/2010 04/2010 05/2010 06/2010 07/2010 08/2010 09/2009 09/2010 10/2009 10/2010 11/2009 11/2010 12/2009 12/2010 Any way to do this in sql? full sql is select (to_char(req_date,'MM/YYYY')) as monthYear,count(req_id) as count from REQUISITION_CURRENT t group by to_char(req_date,'MM/YYYY') Thanks

  • numberOfSectionsInTable isn't called when [arr count] is returned

    - by user315471
    When I try returning the count of my newsItems array it breaks my application. I used NSLog to find out what the value of the newsItems count was when I returned 1. Here is from NSLog 2010-04-13 07:48:40.656 RSS Feed[453:207] Values of num items 31 2010-04-13 07:48:40.656 RSS Feed[453:207] Number of items 31 Does anyone know why returning [newsItems count] would cause my application to break? - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { NSLog(@"Values of num items %d",[newsItems count]); NSInteger *length = (NSInteger *)[newsItems count]; NSLog(@"Number of items %d",length); return 1; //return [newsItems count]; //This keeps breaking it for some reason }

  • Intelligent "Subtraction" of one text logfile from another

    - by Vi
Example: Application generates large text log file A with many different messages. It generates similarly large log file B when does not function correctly. I want to see what messages in file B are essentially new, i.e. to filter-out everything from A. Trivial prototype is: Sort | uniq both files Join files sort | uniq -c grep -v "^2" This produces symmetric difference and inconvenient. How to do it better? (including non-symmetric difference and preserving of messages order in B) Program should first analyse A and learn which messages are common, then analyse B showing with messages needs attention. Ideally it should automatically disregard things like timestamps, line numbers or other volatile things. Example. A: 0:00:00.234 Received buffer 0x324234 0:00:00.237 Processeed buffer 0x324234 0:00:00.238 Send buffer 0x324255 0:00:03.334 Received buffer 0x324255 0:00:03.337 Processeed buffer 0x324255 0:00:03.339 Send buffer 0x324255 0:00:05.171 Received buffer 0x32421A 0:00:05.173 Processeed buffer 0x32421A 0:00:05.178 Send buffer 0x32421A B: 0:00:00.134 Received buffer 0x324111 0:00:00.137 Processeed buffer 0x324111 0:00:00.138 Send buffer 0x324111 0:00:03.334 Received buffer 0x324222 0:00:03.337 Processeed buffer 0x324222 0:00:03.338 Error processing buffer 0x324222 0:00:03.339 Send buffer 0x3242222 0:00:05.271 Received buffer 0x3242FA 0:00:05.273 Processeed buffer 0x3242FA 0:00:05.278 Send buffer 0x3242FA 0:00:07.280 Send buffer 0x3242FA failed Result: 0:00:03.338 Error processing buffer 0x324222 0:00:07.280 Send buffer 0x3242FA failed One of ways of solving it can be something like that: Split each line to logical units: 0:00:00.134 Received buffer 0x324111,0:00:00.134,Received,buffer,0x324111,324111,Received buffer, \d:\d\d:\d\d\.\d\d\d, \d+:\d+:\d+.\d+, 0x[0-9A-F]{6}, ... It should find individual words, simple patterns in numbers, common layouts (e.g. "some date than text than number than text than end_of_line"), also handle combinations of above. As it is not easy task, user assistance (adding regexes with explicit "disregard that","make the main factor","don't split to parts","consider as date/number","take care of order/quantity of such messages" rules) should be supported (but not required) for it. Find recurring units and "categorize" lines, filter out too volatile things like timestamps, addresses or line numbers. Analyse the second file, find things that has new logical units (one-time or recurring), or anything that will "amaze" the system which has got used to the first file. Example of doing some bit of this manually: $ cat A | head -n 1 0:00:00.234 Received buffer 0x324234 $ cat A | egrep -v "Received buffer" | head -n 1 0:00:00.237 Processeed buffer 0x324234 $ cat A | egrep -v "Received buffer|Processeed buffer" | head -n 1 0:00:00.238 Send buffer 0x324255 $ cat A | egrep -v "Received buffer|Processeed buffer|Send buffer" | head -n 1 $ cat B | egrep -v "Received buffer|Processeed buffer|Send buffer" 0:00:03.338 Error processing buffer 0x324222 0:00:07.280 Send buffer 0x3242FA failed This is a boring thing (there are a lot of message types); also I can accidentally include some too broad pattern. Also it can't handle complicated things like interrelation between messages. I know that it is AI-related. May be there are already developed tools?

  • Google Apps e-mail being rejected from some domains

Also, my company uses Google Apps for e-mail and I can send e-mail to a user at sonic.net from my company. The differences between my personal e-mail and my company's are: My company's domain has no SPF record whereas mine does. My company's domain has an A record whereas mine does not. My SPF record initially was as prescribed by Google here. However, this guy claims Google is wrong and gives a fix. I've tried it both ways with no difference. My SPF record is currently: v=spf1 mx include:aspmx.googlemail.com include:_spf.google.com ~all As for the lack of an A record, you wouldn't think that a mail host would care about that so long as mx records are defined. However, the funny thing is that if you look at the error message, why does Google state that the recipient's domain stated that there is "No such user here" for my address? That makes no sense. Of course there is no user having my address at sonic.net. Also, I assume that I just discovered that I can't send mail to users at sonic.net by accident and that there are probably other domains I can't send e-mail to. So... anybody have any idea what's going on? And how I can get mail to users at sonic.net?

  • Problems building application for Ubuntu App Showdown

    - by Neil Munro
I have managed to submit my source application to the Ubuntu build servers, however it's not building. This is the build output: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/109592385/buildlog_ubuntu-precise-i386.liberedit_12.07.20_FAILEDTOBUILD.txt.gz I know that there is a dependency on lxml for my application but I don't know how to correct that, but I can also see that it's failing to find my own python modules. I am not sure what is going on in it's entirety here, but I would greatly appreciate getting this to build so I can submit it to the Ubuntu App Showdown. Thanks, Neil
