  • how to create a lotus notes view that shows mails from last two days?

    How do I create a view in Lotus Notes that shows recent mails, say mails received in last two days? My naive attempt was to Create a view with Simple Search date created is in the last 2 days. While this pulls in newer mails it does not seem to clear out old mails. Which means the view contains all mails received since two days before the view was created. What is the right way to do this?

  • What is the next promotion for a scrum master

    I'm currently a scrum master. I have been offered a promotion to a role that will allow me to have a wider impact. (more involved in company wide architectural decisions, possible secondment to kick start major projects, etc). The role and title of the job has yet to be decided but my company are open to guidance from me. I'm happy I can mould the role to suit me and the company but I'm unsure about the job title that fits this role. Technical Evangelist has been suggested but i'm not sure that is the correct title. I'm keen to proceed down the technical route. What would you suggest? What other roles do people take after scrum master/technical lead? EDIT: (I am aware that my current role is a mix of a technical lead and scrum master role, but that's how we do it in my company :) )

    We're restructuring our old intranet into a new one and are going through each site to find content and use our new standard structure/look-and-feel. Do you recommend a tool where you can do "digital Post-It" notes? It would provide a way to type some items on a "card" and be able to move it around and organize it quickly. Also, if you know of tools in general for this kind of task, please advise. Thank you.

    For the whishlist... The 'delete button' in Ubuntu One Notes is exactly in the same place as the 'save' button. So I saved a long note, but as my finger clicked two times on the save button, the second click was on the 'delete' one ! Lost without return possible. <:-(( This annoying feature could easily be changed : - put the delete button in another place - before deleting : ask for confirmation - offer a way to cancel ('undelete' function)

  • Mac OSX - looking for software for notes, snippets, ideas, etc.

    I have the following requirements: Mobile accessibility: Either a complimentary iphone app to sync with, or DropBox or Google Docs syncing or equivalent so I can use other mobile note applications to edit notes remotely. Minimally some form of markup, but ideally something I can drag and drop images into and do some formatting. Rich Text support is reasonable. Hierarchical organization, AKA outlining. Internal (note to note) linking. I like to cross reference items and thoughts internally and the relationships aren't always hierarchical. These were closest to what I was looking for but, as far as I can tell, suffer from the noted flaws: Mori : No mobile solution. EagleFiler : No item hierarchy. MacJournal : No entry hierarchy. iphone app converts edited entries to plain text. Evernote : No interior linking. No hierarchy. I think I've tried every serious contender and none of them have all four (seemingly simple) requirements. I'm hoping that I'm either missing an existing feature in an app I've tried or that someone knows of something I haven't found it yet.

  • Mysql Master-ColdMaster

    I explain my case: I'm at Amazon AWS and I want to be fault tolerant on a entire region failure. My basic problem is to have the db in sync with 2 regions. My options: Master-Master (high lag) Hand made sync every 5 minutes Master-ColdMaster?! (copy on the fly but Master won't wait the other region commit) In my system we could afford loosing a piece of data (we're not a bank) the last inserts in the db, but we could not afford more than 10 minutes of downtime. The database is small and the level of inserts is low, and I wouldn't affect the normal usage waiting other region commit. Is the 3 solution posible? And the most important, once the primary fail how we can detect and change the rol between master-coldmaster -- coldmaster-master ? Is there any clean-mode to restore between failure? Thank's!

  • EJB Persist On Master Child Relationship

    Let us take scenario where in users wants to persist master child relationship. Here will have two tables dept, emp (using Scott Schema) which are having master child relation.Model Diagram: Here in the above model diagram, Dept is the Master table and Emp is child table and Dept is related to emp by one to n relationship. Lets assume we need to make new entries in emp table using EJB persist method. Create a Emp form manually dropping the fields, where deptno will be dropped as Single Selection -> ADF Select One Choice (which is a foreign key in emp table) from deptFindAll DC. Make sure to bind all field variables in backing bean.Employee Form:Once the Emp form created, If the persistEmp() method is used to commit the record this will persist all the Emp fields into emp table except deptno, because the deptno will be passed as a Object reference in persistEmp method  (Its foreign key reference).     I have always worried about users deleting lotus notes databases by accident. We had one such case last week and I want to know how we can lock the databases so that users cannot delete them. Is there a way in Lotus Notes - either at the Db level or server level where we can set up the database so that only the administer of the db or the user with Manager access can delete the database?     The XNA community has been crazy busy again. It always make me fee like such a slacker collecting all of these notes as I see the tremendous output from people all over the world and it’s incredible and humbling. There are some amazingly skilled people working with XNA. On another not, I’m going to take a minute to get on my soapbox and say, if you are developing ANYTHING and are not using some sort of source/revision control, START IMMEDIATELY. This applies to teams of one. Projects for fun. And “I back up my hard drive” or “I use dropbox!” does NOT count as using source control. You’ll be doing yourself a HUGE favor if you find one, learn to use it and integrate it into your everyday workflow. I personally use Subversion. It’s hosted offsite at xp.dev.com and I use TortoiseSVN as my front end to interface with the repository. It’s simple and easy to use and has saved me from myself so many time. Honestly, get setup with some type of source control immediately. If you don’t understand how, grab another developer that does and have them walk you through setup and the basics of using it.
