  • C# Julian Date Parser

    - by Jake Pearson
I have a cell in a spreadsheet that is a date object in Excel but becomes a double (something like 39820.0 for 1/7/2009) when it comes out of C1's xls class. I read this is a Julian date format. Can someone tell me how to parse it back into a DateTime in C#? Update: It looks like I might not have a Julian date, but instead the number of days since Dec 30, 1899.

  • Retrieving well formed HTML using Jericho HTML parser in Java

    - by Raj
Hello, I've looked at jTidy for converting a snipped of malformed/real-world HTML into well-formed HTML/XHTML. However, there's a bug in the latest version due to which I'm not able to use it. I'm looking at Jericho since it has a lot of positive reviews around the net. However, its not immediately obvious to me how one would go about implementing a method like: public String getValidHTML(String messedUpHTML) For instance, if it was passed <div>bar, it would return <div>bar</div> Any pointers would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

  • .NET Excel File Parser

    - by Russak
So the company I'm working for is looking for a means to verify that a given .xls/.xlsx file is valid. Which means checking columns and rows and other data. He's having me evaluate GrapeCity Spread and SpreadsheetGear, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any other suggestions of external tools to check out. We don't need a means to export .xls files or anything like that, just the ability to import them and verify they are valid based on a set of criteria I create. Thanks.

  • need help working with the Jericho Html Parser

    - by rookie
Hi all I've simply used the following program on the url below http://jericho.htmlparser.net/samples/console/src/ExtractText.java My goal is to be able to extract the main body text, to be able to summarize it and present the summarized text as output to the user. My problem is that, I'm not sure how I'd modify the above program to only get the required text from the webpage, without the links or any other information. Again, I'd really appreciate any help I could get. Thanks in advance

  • Java HTML parser/validator

    - by at
We allow people to enter HTML code on our wiki-like site. But only a limited subset of HTML to not affect our styling and not allow malicious javascript code. Is there a good Java library on the server side to ensure that the code entered is valid? We tried creating an XML Schema document to validate against. The only issue there is the libraries we used to validate gave back cryptic error messages. What I want is for the validation library to actually fix the issue (if there was a style="" attribute added to an element, remove it). If fixing it is not easy, at least allow me to report a message to the user with the location of the error (an error code that I can present a nice message from is fine, probably even preferable).

  • Parser, send an argument/receive xml (receive already done/ send not)

    - by bruno
    public List<Afood> getFoodFromCat(String cat) { String resultado = ""; List<Afood> list = new ArrayList<Afood>(); try { URL xpto = new URL("http://10.0.2.2/webservice/nutrituga/get_food_by_cat.php"); HttpURLConnection conn; conn = (HttpURLConnection) xpto.openConnection(); conn.setDoInput(true); conn.connect(); InputStream is = conn.getInputStream(); DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); try { DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = db.parse(is); NodeList nl = doc.getElementsByTagName("item"); // resultado = String.valueOf(nl.getLength()); for (int i = 0; i < nl.getLength(); i++) { Node n = nl.item(i); Node childNode = n.getFirstChild(); while (childNode != null) { if (childNode.getNodeType() == Node.ELEMENT_NODE) { if (childNode.getNodeName().equalsIgnoreCase( "NAME_FOOD")) { Node valor = childNode.getFirstChild(); // resultado = resultado + valor.getNodeValue(); list.add(new Afood(valor.getNodeValue(), "", (int) Math.round(Math.random()), 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1)); } } childNode = childNode.getNextSibling(); } } return list; } catch (ParserConfigurationException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (SAXException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } return list; } I have this function that receives a xml and copy it to the list. This is well implemented. What i want do to know, is to send a category (that i receive like an argument of the function) and receive only the food from that category. The server is ready to receive the category and to send the food from that category. What do i have to do to send the category and receive the correct xml?

  • Boolean logic parser for SQL

    - by d03boy
This is going to sound crazy but does anyone have techniques that would allow me to parse boolean logic strings in Sql Server 2005 without extraordinary/rediculous effort? Here is an example: (SOMEVAR=4 OR SOMEVAR=5) AND (NOT OTHERVAR=Y) I feel like recursion would help a lot if that were possible in Sql but I'm not really sure how to go about that sort of thing. If not, maybe there's a way to attach an external system to do the recursion for me? Don't worry, I'm not getting my hopes up.

  • PHP Simple DOM Parser

    - by Junior Coder
Hi guys I'm using this wonderful class here to do a bit of code embed filtering: http://simplehtmldom.sourceforge.net/. It extends the PHP DOM document class. Pretty much what I am doing is parsing a string through this class that contains embed code, i grab the unique bits of information eg id, width, height send through a handler function which inserts the id, width, height etc into my predefined "safe" template and reinsert my safe template in the place of the embed code the user has put in. May seem a backward way of doing it but it's the way it has to be done :) All of that works fine. Problem is when there is more than just embed code contained in the string, as I can't just replace the embed code i can only replace the entire string which wipes the rest of the tags etc string. For example if there were a p tag that would be wiped. So my question is how using this class can i just replace the certain part of the string? Spent the last few days trying to work this out and need some more input. It appears the class can do this so i'm stumped. Here's a basic version of what i have so far :) // load the class $html = new simple_html_dom(); // load the entire string containing everything user entered here $return = $html->load($string); // check for embed tags if($html->find('embed') == true { foreach($html->find('embed') as $element) { // send it off to the function which returns a new safe embed code $element = create_new_embed($parameters); // this is where i somehow i need to save the changes and send it back to $return } } Any input would be gratefully appreciated. If i have explained my problem well enough please let me know :)

  • Problem with HTML Parser in IE

    - by Luis Armando
I am trying to create a dialog box that will appear only if the browser selected is IE (any version) however I get this error: Message: HTML Parsing Error: Unable to modify the parent container element before the child element is closed (KB927917) That's all in "Line/Char/Code" 0 so I do not know where is the error. The code I'm using is this: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- if(BrowserDetect.browser.contains("Explorer")) { var Nachricht = 'Hemos detectado que está utilizando ' + BrowserDetect.browser + ' ' + BrowserDetect.version + '. Puede que algunas funciones no estén habilitadas. <p></p> Si desea experimentar todo el potencial del portal, por favor intente desde otro navegador (browser). <p></p>Gracias showDialog('¡Aviso Importante!',Nachricht,'warning',10); } </script> I've noticed if I remove the "BrowserDetect.browser" and .version it removes the error, but I need those to check =/...any ideas will be appreciated =).

  • OSLO, ANTLR or other parser grammar, for parsing QUERY EXPRESSION

    - by Jay Allard
Greetings I'm working on a project that requires me to write queries in text form, then convert them to some easily processed nodes to be processed by some abiguous repository. Of everything there, the part I'm least interested is the part that converts the text to nodes. I'm hoping it's already done somewhere. Because I'm making stuff up as I go, I chose to use a LINQish expression syntax. from m in Movie select m.A, m.B I started parsing it manually and got the basics, but it's pretty cheesy. I'm looking for the better solution. I made some progress using MGrammar, but it would be nice if such a thing already existed. Does anyone know of anything that already does this? I looked for existing ANTLR templates, but no luck. Thanks for the help.

  • using Dependency Parser in Stanford coreNLP

    - by Eddie Dovzhik
I am using the Stanford coreNLP ( http://nlp.stanford.edu/software/corenlp.shtml ) in order to parse sentences and extract dependencies between the words. I have managed to create the dependencies graph like in the example in the supplied link, but I don't know how to work with it. I can print the entire graph using the toString() method, but the problem I have is that the methods that search for certain words in the graph, such as getChildList, require an IndexedWord object as a parameter. Now, it is clear why they do because the nodes of the graph are of IndexedWord type, but it's not clear to me how I create such an object in order to search for a specific node. For example: I want to find the children of the node that represents the word "problem" in my sentence. How I create an IndexWord object that represents the word "problem" so I can search for it in the graph?

  • Strange iPhone memory leak in xml parser

    - by Chris
Update: I edited the code, but the problem persists... Hi everyone, this is my first post here - I found this place a great ressource for solving many of my questions. Normally I try my best to fix anything on my own but this time I really have no idea what goes wrong, so I hope someone can help me out. I am building an iPhone app that parses a couple of xml files using TouchXML. I have a class XMLParser, which takes care of downloading and parsing the results. I am getting memory leaks when I parse an xml file more than once with the same instance of XMLParser. Here is one of the parsing snippets (just the relevant part): for(int counter = 0; counter < [item childCount]; counter++) { CXMLNode *child = [item childAtIndex:counter]; if([[child name] isEqualToString:@"PRODUCT"]) { NSMutableDictionary *product = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; for(int j = 0; j < [child childCount]; j++) { CXMLNode *grandchild = [child childAtIndex:j]; if([[grandchild stringValue] length] > 1) { NSString *trimmedString = [[grandchild stringValue] stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceAndNewlineCharacterSet]]; [product setObject:trimmedString forKey:[grandchild name]]; } } // Add product to current category array switch (categoryId) { case 0: [self.mobil addObject: product]; break; case 1: [self.allgemein addObject: product]; break; case 2: [self.besitzeIch addObject: product]; break; case 3: [self.willIch addObject: product]; break; default: break; } [product release]; } } The first time, I parse the xml no leak shows up in instruments, the next time I do so, I got a lot of leaks (NSCFString / NSCFDictionary). Instruments points me to this part inside CXMLNode.m, when I dig into a leaked object: theStringValue = [NSString stringWithUTF8String:(const char *)theXMLString]; if ( _node->type != CXMLTextKind ) xmlFree(theXMLString); } return(theStringValue); I really spent a long time and tried multiple approaches to fix this, but to no avail so far, maybe I am missing something essential? Any help is highly appreciated, thank you!

  • A doubt on DOM parser used with Python

    - by fixxxer
I'm using the following python code to search for a node in an XML file and changing the value of an attribute of one of it's children.Changes are happening correctly when the node is displayed using toxml().But, when it is written to a file, the attributes rearrange themselves(as seen in the Source and the Final XML below). • clang parser pass example

    - by anon
Hi! Can anyone paste sample code for a clang extra preprocessor pass where it: takes every variable named "foo", and renames it "bar", thus making the following code legal: int main() { int foo; bar = 5; } ? Thanks! [Aside: what I'm trying to do is write my own macro system for clang. Doing the above will let me inject at the right level to do my rewrites.] Thanks!

  • XML RSS to HTML parser doesn't work

    - by mstr
I'm using MCX (I don't even know if someone here is familiar with it, pretty unkown derivate of COBOL and Fortran, look it up in google when you don't believe me) Note: I'm using MCX on the MCX-WebServices server as it does neither support apache or ISS, mabye that is one problem. The thing is that I want to use the XML library to read in an XML file and convert it into an output format readable by the user. The XML lib already has all the functions I need for that, yet my program fails. #!usr/bin/mcx $PGRM.ID: index.mcx $PGRM.AT: /mstr SHOWERROR: WRITE XML.LastError --> OUTPUT DO_FLUSH xcit end\ MAIN: IMPORT Extras.XML USE Extras $XML_RSS_FILE: XML.ReadIn "rss.xml" ! $XML_RSS_FILE --> GOTO SHOWERROR $XML_RSS: XML.FormatRSS1 <-- $XML_RSS_FILE ! $XML_RSS --> GOTO SHOWERROR WRITE $XML_RSS --> OUTPUT DO_FLUSH FLUSH xcit end\ Program output: Nothing The rss.xml file 100% exists and is readable Thanks in advance
