  • Why is apache/passenger unable to open the sqlite3 rails database file?

    - by sendos
    I'm running apache2/passenger2.0.3 (ubuntu 9.10 packages). I can start up Webrick in the rails folder and run the app perfectly as I do on my development box with script/server Why then does apache/passenger fail to open the database, throwing a 500 and putting the following in the log? Status: 500 Internal Server Error could not open database: unable to open database file /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/sqlite3/errors.rb:62:in `check'...

  • Weird Rails database errors

    - by Jason Swett
    I've had some trouble getting my Rails app to connect to PostgreSQL so I decided to just say screw it and use SQLite for now. (I'm using the tutorial here: http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started.html) I started a BRAND NEW, fresh Rails app from this tutorial. When I visit my app in the browser after deleting public/index.html, I get this the first time: Please install the pg adapter: `gem install activerecord-pg-adapter` (no such file to load -- active_record/connection_adapters/pg_adapter) That's odd to me because I'm not mentioning PostgreSQL anywhere. Here's my databases.yml: # SQLite version 3.x # gem install sqlite3-ruby (not necessary on OS X Leopard) development: adapter: sqlite3 database: db/development.sqlite3 pool: 5 timeout: 5000 # Warning: The database defined as "test" will be erased and # re-generated from your development database when you run "rake". # Do not set this db to the same as development or production. test: adapter: sqlite3 database: db/test.sqlite3 pool: 5 timeout: 5000 production: adapter: sqlite3 database: db/production.sqlite3 pool: 5 timeout: 5000 To make things more confusing, I only get that "pg adapter" error on the first load. For every subsequent page request, I get this error: ActiveRecord::ConnectionNotEstablished So even though I removed all mention of PostgreSQL, I'm still getting errors. What could be going on?

  • PHP enable sqlite phpinfo states --without-sqlite

    - by Jahmic
    I've seen similar questions but none that address my situation adequately. I'm running Apache and PHP 5.3.6 on a amazon cloud server. phpinfo keeps stating that sqlite is disabled. At least that what it seems from the configure line: './configure' ... '--without-sqlite' In other parts of phpinfo() output: PDO PDO drivers mysql, sqlite PDO Driver for SQLite 3.x enabled SQLite Library 3.6.20 sqlite3 SQLite3 support enabled SQLite3 module version 0.7-dev SQLite Library 3.6.20 Directive Local Value Master Value sqlite3.extension_dir no value no value and at least one the following PHP commands fail: if (!extension_loaded('SQLite') OR !function_exists('sqlite_open')) Yum install states that both sqlite and pdo-lite are already installed. I've tried to enable sqlite by editing my local php.ini by adding: ; Enable sqlite3 extension module extension=sqlite3.so I've checked the main php.ini (/etc/php.ini) and there is nothing specific about disabling it. In fact, there is a sub-conig file loaded in php.d that also specifies this extension as well as another for the pdo-sqlite I'm running of things to look for or try. Any suggestions. How do I find where the PHP configure is stated? Thanks

  • Is there any time estimation about sqlite3's open speed?

    - by sxingfeng
    I am using SQLite3 in C++, I found the opening time of sqlite seems unstable at the first time( I mean ,open windows and open the db at the first time) It takes a long tiom on 50M db, about 10s in windows? and vary on different times. Has any one met the same problem? I am writting an desktop application in windows, so the openning speed is really important for me. Thanks in advance! int nRet; #if defined(_UNICODE) || defined(UNICODE) nRet = sqlite3_open16(szFile, &mpDB); // not tested under window 98 #else // For Ansi Version //*************- Added by Begemot szFile must be in unicode- 23/03/06 11:04 - **** OSVERSIONINFOEX osvi; ZeroMemory(&osvi, sizeof(OSVERSIONINFOEX)); osvi.dwOSVersionInfoSize = sizeof(OSVERSIONINFOEX); GetVersionEx ((OSVERSIONINFO *) &osvi); if ( osvi.dwMajorVersion == 5) { WCHAR pMultiByteStr[MAX_PATH+1]; MultiByteToWideChar( CP_ACP, 0, szFile, _tcslen(szFile)+1, pMultiByteStr, sizeof(pMultiByteStr)/sizeof(pMultiByteStr[0]) ); nRet = sqlite3_open16(pMultiByteStr, &mpDB); } else nRet = sqlite3_open(szFile,&mpDB); #endif //************************* if (nRet != SQLITE_OK) { LPCTSTR szError = (LPCTSTR) _sqlite3_errmsg(mpDB); throw CppSQLite3Exception(nRet, (LPTSTR)szError, DONT_DELETE_MSG); } setBusyTimeout(mnBusyTimeoutMs);

  • Why do I get this error when I try to push my SQLite3 to Postgresql (via Taps) on Cedar Stack?

    - by rhodee
    I've done quite a bit of research on Heroku Dev Center and I am now looking to the community for help. Here is my problem. I can not push my db to Heroku Cedar Stack. I am trying to migrate a sqlite database to postgresql via Taps gem. When I am ready to deploy I run: bundle install --without production heroku run db:push I get the following result: Running db:seed attached to terminal... up, run.17 sh: db:seed: not found heroku run rake db:migrate And when I run the migration: heroku run rake db:migrate I get the following: Running rake db:migrate attached to terminal... up, run.18 rake aborted! No Rakefile found (looking for: rakefile, Rakefile, rakefile.rb, Rakefile.rb) /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.9.1/rake.rb:2367:in `raw_load_rakefile' /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.9.1/rake.rb:2007:in `block in load_rakefile' /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.9.1/rake.rb:2058:in `standard_exception_handling' /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.9.1/rake.rb:2006:in `load_rakefile' /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.9.1/rake.rb:1991:in `run' /usr/local/bin/rake:31:in `<main>' Everytime I push to Heroku (git push heroku master) it fails because my gem file is attempting to install sqlite3 gem-even though its inside of the development and test groups in my Gemfile. My database.yml production environment still points to sqlite adapter even after I have run the following command successfully: heroku config:add BUNDLE_WITHOUT="test development" --app app_name_on_heroku Out of ideas. Please help. If its useful I can post results of my gemfile, heroku ps and logs. Cheers UPDATE: After following @John's direction I now receive the following terminal message. • Rails app deployment challenge, not finding database table in production.log

    - by Stefan M
    I'm trying to setup PasswordPusher as my first ruby app ever. Building and running the webrick server as instructed in README works fine. It was only when I tried to add Apache ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse that the page load slowed down to several minutes. So I gave mod_passenger a whirl but now it's unable to find the password table. Here's what I get in log/production.log. Started GET "/" for 10.10.2.13 at Sun Jun 10 08:07:19 +0200 2012 Processing by PasswordsController#new as HTML Completed 500 Internal Server Error in 1ms ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid (Could not find table 'passwords'): app/controllers/passwords_controller.rb:77:in `new' app/controllers/passwords_controller.rb:77:in `new' While in log/private.log I get a lot more output so here's just a snippet but it looks to me like it's working with the database. Edit: This was actually old log output, maybe from db:create. • Testing a codebase with sequential cohesion

    - by iveqy
    I've this really simple program written in C with ncurses that's basically a front-end to sqlite3. I would like to implement TDD to continue the development and have found a nice C unit framework for this. However I'm totally stuck on how to implement it. Take this case for example: A user types a letter 'l' that is captured by ncurses getch(), and then an sqlite3 query is run that for every row calls a callback function. This callback function prints stuff to the screen via ncurses. So the obvious way to fully test this is to simulate a keyboard and a terminal and make sure that the output is the expected. However this sounds too complicated. I was thinking about adding an abstraction layer between the database and the UI so that the callback function will populate a list of entries and that list will later be printed. In that case I would be able to check if that list contains the expected values. However, why would I struggle with a data structure and lists in my program when sqlite3 already does this? For example, if the user wants to see the list sorted in some other way, it would be expensive to throw away the list and repopulate it. I would need to sort the list, but why should I implement sorting when sqlite3 already has that? Using my orginal design I could just do an other query sorted differently. Previously I've only done TDD with command line applications, and there it's really easy to just compare the output with what I'm expected. An other way would be to add CLI interface to the program and wrap a test program around the CLI to test everything. (The way git.git does with it's test-framework). So the question is, how to add testing to a tightly integrated database/UI.

  • SQLite3 or SQLite Manager make me crazy !!! Please help me !! I have a presentation next week

    - by ahmet732
    My friend added 90 rows into the database, I tied it up to my app. In my table view name of my variables are shown in proper fashion but when I tapped one of them, in detailsViewController their description is wrong. It shows very old description of variables not the new ones in database. Moreover, it displays the same description for different variables. What's the problem ? What am i missing? My database is correct. It displays same desscriptions for different values. It makes me worried about. Additionally, when I added a new row to my db, it accepts it but it does not perceive it when i run the app. It shows new row in my tableview if and only if I change the name of my db file. I do not want to use another SQL manager ..

    In the book Programming Collective Intelligence I found the following function to compute the PageRank: def calculatepagerank(self,iterations=20): # clear out the current PageRank tables self.con.execute("drop table if exists pagerank") self.con.execute("create table pagerank(urlid primary key,score)") self.con.execute("create index prankidx on pagerank(urlid)") # initialize every url with a PageRank of 1.0 self.con.execute("insert into pagerank select rowid,1.0 from urllist") self.dbcommit() for i in range(iterations): print "Iteration %d" % i for (urlid,) in self.con.execute("select rowid from urllist"): pr=0.15 # Loop through all the pages that link to this one for (linker,) in self.con.execute("select distinct fromid from link where toid=%d" % urlid): # Get the PageRank of the linker linkingpr=self.con.execute("select score from pagerank where urlid=%d" % linker).fetchone()[0] # Get the total number of links from the linker linkingcount=self.con.execute("select count(*) from link where fromid=%d" % linker).fetchone()[0] pr+=0.85*(linkingpr/linkingcount) self.con.execute("update pagerank set score=%f where urlid=%d" % (pr,urlid)) self.dbcommit() However, this function is very slow, because of all the SQL queries in every iteration >>> import cProfile >>> cProfile.run("crawler.calculatepagerank()") 2262510 function calls in 136.006 CPU seconds Ordered by: standard name ncalls tottime percall cumtime percall filename:lineno(function) 1 0.000 0.000 136.006 136.006 <string>:1(<module>) 1 20.826 20.826 136.006 136.006 searchengine.py:179(calculatepagerank) 21 0.000 0.000 0.528 0.025 searchengine.py:27(dbcommit) 21 0.528 0.025 0.528 0.025 {method 'commit' of 'sqlite3.Connecti 1 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 {method 'disable' of '_lsprof.Profiler 1339864 112.602 0.000 112.602 0.000 {method 'execute' of 'sqlite3.Connec 922600 2.050 0.000 2.050 0.000 {method 'fetchone' of 'sqlite3.Cursor' 1 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 {range} So I optimized the function and came up with this: def calculatepagerank2(self,iterations=20): # clear out the current PageRank tables self.con.execute("drop table if exists pagerank") self.con.execute("create table pagerank(urlid primary key,score)") self.con.execute("create index prankidx on pagerank(urlid)") # initialize every url with a PageRank of 1.0 self.con.execute("insert into pagerank select rowid,1.0 from urllist") self.dbcommit() inlinks={} numoutlinks={} pagerank={} for (urlid,) in self.con.execute("select rowid from urllist"): inlinks[urlid]=[] numoutlinks[urlid]=0 # Initialize pagerank vector with 1.0 pagerank[urlid]=1.0 # Loop through all the pages that link to this one for (inlink,) in self.con.execute("select distinct fromid from link where toid=%d" % urlid): inlinks[urlid].append(inlink) # get number of outgoing links from a page numoutlinks[urlid]=self.con.execute("select count(*) from link where fromid=%d" % urlid).fetchone()[0] for i in range(iterations): print "Iteration %d" % i for urlid in pagerank: pr=0.15 for link in inlinks[urlid]: linkpr=pagerank[link] linkcount=numoutlinks[link] pr+=0.85*(linkpr/linkcount) pagerank[urlid]=pr for urlid in pagerank: self.con.execute("update pagerank set score=%f where urlid=%d" % (pagerank[urlid],urlid)) self.dbcommit() This function is 20 times faster (but uses a lot more memory for all the temporary dictionaries) because it avoids the unnecessary SQL queries in every iteration: >>> cProfile.run("crawler.calculatepagerank2()") 64802 function calls in 6.950 CPU seconds Ordered by: standard name ncalls tottime percall cumtime percall filename:lineno(function) 1 0.004 0.004 6.950 6.950 <string>:1(<module>) 1 1.004 1.004 6.946 6.946 searchengine.py:207(calculatepagerank2 2 0.000 0.000 0.104 0.052 searchengine.py:27(dbcommit) 23065 0.012 0.000 0.012 0.000 {meth 'append' of 'list' objects} 2 0.104 0.052 0.104 0.052 {meth 'commit' of 'sqlite3.Connection 1 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 {meth 'disable' of '_lsprof.Profiler' 31298 5.809 0.000 5.809 0.000 {meth 'execute' of 'sqlite3.Connectio 10431 0.018 0.000 0.018 0.000 {method 'fetchone' of 'sqlite3.Cursor' 1 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 {range} But is it possible to further reduce the number of SQL queries to speed up the function even more?

  • System.Data.SQLite

    - by csharp-source.net
    System.Data.SQLite is an enhanced version of the original SQLite database engine. It is a complete drop-in replacement for the original sqlite3.dll (you can even rename it to sqlite3.dll). It has no linker dependency on the .NET runtime so it can be distributed independently of .NET, yet embedded in the binary is a complete ADO.NET 2.0 provider for full managed development.

  • An SQLite/STDIN Conundrum, Specific to AIX

    - by mikfreedman
    Hi there! I'm been playing around with SQlite at work, specifically with trying to get the sqlite3 command line tool to accept stdin instead of a file. Sounds easy enough, on linux you can execute a command like: echo 'test' | sqlite3 test.db '.import /dev/stdin test' unfortunately - our machines at work run AIX (5 & 6) and as far as I can tell, there is no equivalent to the virtual file /dev/stdin. I managed to hack together an equivalent command that works on AIX using a temporary file. echo 'test' | cat - > /tmp/blah ; sqlite3 test.db '.import /dev/stdin test' ; rm /tmp/blah Now, does it need to use STDIN? isn't this temporary file thing enough? Probably, but I was hoping someone with better unix-fu had a more elegant solution. note: the data I would like to import is only provided via STDOUT, so that's what the echo 'test' command is all about

  • How to enable Sqlite on a Mac OS X Mavericks [migrated]

    - by sehummel
    I upgraded my Mac with OS X Mavericks last week. It appears to have taken away support for Sqlite -- not Sqlite3, but sqlite. I need that for a website I work on. I went to Sqlite's website, but all I could find was older versions of Sqlite3. Where can I find a version of Sqlite? I've been through the php.ini and can only find one reference to sqlite. In short, how do I get Sqlite support on my Mac? I have Sqlite3 enabled and the issue isn't going away. I uncommented pdo_sqlite in the php.ini and I still have the issue.
