• PHP explode not filling in array spot 0

  I have a file we will call info.txt under UNIX format that has only the following in it: #Dogs #Cats #Birds #Rabbits and am running this against it: $filename = "info.txt"; $fd = fopen ($filename, "r"); $contents = fread ($fd,filesize ($filename)); fclose ($fd); $delimiter = "#"; $insideContent = explode($delimiter, $contents); Now everything looks to be working fine except when I display the array I get the following. [0] => [1] => Dogs [2] => Cats [3] => Birds [4] => Rabbits I checked the .txt file to make sure there wasn't any space or hidden characters in front of the first # so I'm at a loss of why this is happening other than I feel like I'm missing something terribly simple. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced!

• Scipy interpolation on a numpy array

  I have a lookup table that is defined the following way: TR_ua1 = np.array([ [3.6, 6.5, 9.1, 11.5, 13.8], [3.9, 7.3, 10.0, 13.1, 15.9], [4.5, 9.2, 12.2, 14.8, 18.2] ]) The header row elements are (hh) <1,2,3,4,5+ The header column (inc) elements are <10000, 20000, 20001+ The user will input a value ex (1.3, 25,000) or (0.2, 50,000). Scipy.interpolate() should interpolate to determine the correct value. Currently, the only way i can do this is with a bunch of if/elifs as exemplified below.   Hi all, What is the datatype you use to fetch items whose type is dictionary in plist i.e. nsmutabledictionary or nsdictionary? Because I'm using following code to retrieve dictionary objects from an array of dictionaries in plist. NSMutableDictionary *_myDict = [contentArray objectAtIndex:0]; NSLog(@"MYDICT : %@",_myDict); NSString *myKey = (NSString *)[_myDict valueForKey:@"Contents"] ; [[cell lblFeed] setText:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@",myKey]]; Here, on first line it's showing me objc_msgsend. ContentArray is an nsarray and it's contents are showing 2 objects that are there in plist. In plist they are dictionary objects. Then why this error? Can anybody please help? Thanx in advance.

• Memory efficient way of inserting an array of objects with Core Data

  I'm working on a piece of code for an iPhone application that fetches a bunch of data from a server and builds objects from it on the client. It ends up creating roughly 40,000 objects. They aren't displayed to the user, I just need to create instances of NSManagedObject and store them to persistent storage. Am I wrong in thinking that the only way to do this is to create a single object, then save the context? is it best to create the objects all at once, then somehow save them to the context after they're created and stored in some set or array? If so, can one show some example code for how this is done or point me in the direction to code where this is done? The objects themselves are relatively straight forward models with string or integer attributes and don't contain any complex relationships.

What is the easiest way to check if my currentHeader is in my Headers array and in my checkString String? I can do it but not in less than 20 lines of code. That seems like a less than optimal solution.

  Hi people. I have a question about type casting. I have the following json String: {"server":"clients","method":"whoIs","arguments":["hello"]} I am parsing it to the following Map< String, Object {arguments=[hello], method=whoIs, server=clients} It is now possible to do the following: request.get("arguments"); This works fine. But i need to get the array the is stored in the arguments. How can i accomplish this? I tried (for example) the following: System.out.println(request.get("arguments")[0]); But of course this doesn't work.. Does anybody know how this would be possible?

  Hi: I'm having a problem using the UITabBarController and can't seem to get anywhere... maybe someone has run into something similar. I have the typical Tab Bar + Navigation app and everything is working great, except when I access options in the More tab. On any other tab, if I log: NSLog(@"%@ \n %@",self.selectedViewController,[self.selectedViewController viewControllers]); I get, for example: 2010-05-29 00:05:13.512 MD[9950:207] <UINavigationController: 0x4c35ad0> ( <MDViewController: 0x4c35910>, <Detalle: 0x9050e80> ) If I access an element in the More tab, I get: 2010-05-29 00:05:13.512 MD[9950:207] <UINavigationController: 0x4c35ad0> ( ) An empty viewControllers array?   I have created an array Man: public main blah blah{ man = man[10]; } Man has fields such as Man.name; Man.age; ... In Man class, there is a OnClick method that opens a new window showing its name and age. public Man(){ Onclick(){ InfoWindow showinfo = new InfoWindow(this.getid()) // If this is Man[2] the id would be 2. } And in InfoWindow class: public class InfoWindow extends JFrame{ public InfoWindow(Man selectedMan){ setSize(300, 200); JLabel info = new JLabel(selectedMan.getname()); add(info); info.setVisible(true); } } Basically, that's wanna acomplish (show in pseudocode), pass a Man[i] into a class that when a window is created, shows the info related to that man. This is how i'm actualy trying to implement it but it's not working, i'm pretty sure there is a misconception from me in some part. Any help?

  I have a class, "Tetris", in which one of the instance variables is "board". "board" is 2D array of Color objects.   Hi guys, I have a C# struct to represent a cartesian vector, something like this: public struct Vector { private double x; private double y; private double z; //Some properties/methods } Now I have an unmanaged C dll that I need to call with P/Invoke. Some methods expect a double[3] parameter. The unmanaged C signature is something like void Cross(double a[3], double b[3], double c[3]); Is there any way to set up a P/Invoke signature so I can pass instances of my Vector struct and marshal them transparently to unmanaged double[3]? I would also need bidirectional marshaling as the unmanaged function needs to write the output to the argument array, so I guess I would need to marshal as LpArray. Any ideas? Thanks Pedro

• Fastest sort of fixed length 6 int array

  Answering to another StackOverflow question (this one) I stumbled upon an interresting sub-problem. What is the fastest way to sort an array of 6 ints ? As the question is very low level (will be executed by a GPU): we can't assume libraries are available (and the call itself has it's cost), only plain C to avoid emptying instruction pipeline (that has a very high cost) we should probably minimize branches, jumps, and every other kind of control flow breaking (like those hidden behind sequence points in && or ||). room is constrained and minimizing registers and memory use is an issue, ideally in place sort is probably best. Really this question is a kind of Golf where the goal is not to minimize source length but execution speed. I call it 'Zening` code as used in the title of the book Zen of Code optimization by Michael Abrash and it's sequels.

  So, I am learning Javascript while playing white Google Calendar APIs and I just can't figure how this piece of code is working this way: var entriesResult = []; var data = new Date(2010,3,22,17,0,0); var callback = function(result) { var entries = result.feed.getEntries(); if (entries.length != 0) { entriesResult = eventsManager(entries, 0, data); window.alert("inner entriesResult " + entriesResult.length); } } this.service.getEventsFeed(this.query, callback, handleGDError); window.alert("outer entriesResult " + entriesResult.length); eventsManager() is a function that returns an array of Objects. getEventsFeed() it's an API function: it queries the service and pass a "feed root" (a feed with selected items) to the callback function. Why the first alert (inner..) outputs a valid entriesResult.length while the second one (outer..) always outputs a 0? I tought javascript arrays are always passed by reference, what's wrong whit my code? Thank you :)

  I'm trying to write function that converts an arbitrary large array of bytes (larger than 64-bit) into a decimal number represented as string in c# and I simply can't figure out how to do it. For example the following code ... Console.WriteLine(ConvertToString( new byte[] { 0x11, 0x22, 0x33, 0x44, 0x55, 0x66, 0x77, 0x88, 0x99, 0xAA, 0xBB, 0xCC, 0xDD, 0xEE, 0xFF, 0x00 })); .. should print out 22774453838368691933757882222884355840 I don't want to just use an extra library like biginteger for that, because I want it to be simple and like to understand how it works.

  Hey All, I have decided to use SubSonic (v3.0) for the first time and thoroughly enjoy it so far however I seem to have stumbled and I am hoping there is a nice neat solution. I have a users, roles and joining table. SubSonic (ActiveRecord) generated an entity User for my users table. A property of User is UserRoles and is of the type IQueryable this is my joining table. I want to convert the IQueryable column name RoleName to a string array. I have only just started playing with Linq as well and know of ToArray() but seem to be missing something or this isn't the function I want. I could iterate over each item in the UserRoles property but seems a little excessive. I appreciate your help! Cheers.

How can I accomplish this? If I call it like so: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", "Dave", "Javascript"); I get this (it doesn't recognize "Javascript" as a 3rd argument): My name is Dave, and I like %s If I call this: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", ["Dave", "Javascript"]); then it treats the second arg as an array (it doesn't expand to multiple args). What trick am I missing to get it to expand the optional args?

• Turn RSS into array, explode the 'description' and insert words into MySQL table one per row

  I have only recently gotten into php and MySQL and I want to take an RSS feed, turn it into an array, take only the description part of the XML, explode it and insert it into a table on a MySQL base. I feel like this should be possible, but is a little over my head right now. I tried using magpie as a parser, but if possible I want to do it in simpler php code. The result I am looking for would take a description "This is a cat" and insert it into a table with two fields ID term 1 This 2 is 3 a 4 cat I've been stumped on this for a couple days. Any help would be great.

  I've recently started to use SQLite and began to integrate it into a C# project I'm working on. However, randomly my project will throw the exception: Input array is longer than the number of columns in this table I'm having a hard time trying the trace the problem because it seems to be thrown on a random basis. DataTable table = new DataTable(); //exception is thrown here table = Global.db.ExecuteQuery("SELECT * FROM vm_manager"); Some of the data that gets returned from this query is as follows: http://i.imgur.com/9rlLN.png If anyone has any advice, I'd be grateful. • rails accessing value from facebooker hash/array

  This is my first time using the facebooker plugin with rails, and I'm having trouble accessing user info. The website uses FB connect to authenticate users. I am trying to get the name of the university that the logged in user attends. When I use the command <%= facebook_session.user.education_history[:name] %>, I get an error "Symbol as array index". I have also tried using education_history[1], but that just returns "# Facebooker::EducationInfo:<some sort of alphanumeric hash value>" When I use something like <%= facebook_session.user.relationship_status %> , it returns the relationship status just fine. Similarly, <%= facebook_session.user.hometown_location.city %> returns the city name just fine. I've checked out the documentation for facebooker, but I can't figure out the correct way to get the values I need. Any idea on how to get this to work? Thanks!
