• AllowSetForegroundWindow & SetForegroundWindow: NPAPI plug-in wants to allow a desktop application with no success

  Here it's what I have: a web browser plug-in written in C++ and a Windows application written in C#. They communicate through a named pipe. The plug-in instructs the C# application to open a file (suppose that the file is a .txt and it opens in Notepad). Once the C# application is given the command, it opens the file but Notepad doesn't show in the foreground, which isn't acceptable, I must open Notepad in the foreground. I modified the C# application so that it calls the SetForegroundWindow function. This time Notepad didn't open in the foreground, but the taskbar flashes. After reading the documentation for SetForegroundWindow and many articles I think that now I understand what the problem is: the C# application can't bring Notepad to the foreground because it wasn't the the foreground process, the browser was (?). After reading this: "A process that can set the foreground window can enable another process to set the foreground window by calling the AllowSetForegroundWindow function." I decided to modify the plug-in. This time the plug-in calls the AllowSetForegroundWindow function passing ASFW_ANY as a parameter (I know, ASFW_ANY could be risky, but I wanted to make sure that AllowSetForegroundWindow would do it). After I did the modification to the plug-in I tested it and it worked! (Opera 12.02). Then I tested it on Internet Explorer and it worked too. But the problem came when I tested it in Firefox and Chrome. The C# application didn't have the ability to bring Notepad to the foreground. I noticed that for those browsers the AllowSetForegroundWindow function was returning false. So I started investigating and I come to the conclusion that maybe it's because the plugin container that Firefox uses. An idea came to my mind: it worked in Opera 12.02, but they don't have a plugin container, although they did in Opera 12.00. So I downloaded Opera 12.00, I did the test and it failed, which makes me conclude that the plugin container is the culprit. The question is: how can I give to the C# application the ability to set foreground? I don't know how to continue, and I think that I tried all the legitimate ways. The AllowSetForegroundWindow & SetForegroundWindow seems to not apply here.

• Is it possible to *optionally* override a theme in Drupal 6?

  I want to override the theming of only one (custom) menu. I can do this with phptemplate_menu_tree() but - of course - it overrides the rendering of all menus. I've tried returning FALSE (an obvious technique IMO) if the menu is not the specific one I want to override - but this doesn't cause the overridden theme function to be called. My only alternative (when the menu is anything other than the specific one) is to call the overridden function from within phptemplate_menu_tree() - but this seems to defeat the whole point of the override system, since the default rendering function will be hard-coded therein. I hope the explanation is clear, and any help is greatly appreciated - tks.

• How to assemble a WAV file, C# preferred?!

I'm doing an educational project in which 1) I record voice commands on a separate device and after appropriate processing etc... 2) I send 16-bit samples encapsulated in UDP packets over Ethernet to the PC. • VSS causing crash in VS 2008

  We use Visual Studio 2008, with visual source safe v8. Lately, I seem to be getting a lot more crashes than usual, mainly when viewing history (comparing, etc.).   In iTunes Connect, the first screenshot (on left) is not showing up as the first screenshot in the App Store. In one case the 3rd screenshot in iTunes Connect shows up 1st on the App Store and in another case the 4th screenshot is 1st on the App Store. Does anyone know how to specify the order of images? • How does one access subviews and handle groups of them?

  If I want to manipulate a view I get it with [self viewWithTag:5];. Is there a better way to do this? Sometimes I need to manipulate a bunch of view (e.g. move them all out of the way. I do this by adding a UIView (e.g. UIView iHoldViews) and then adding the views, buttons, etc to this view. Then I can move the iHoldViews view and all its subviews move with it. Is there a better way to do this? (I have a feeling there is :) Maybe storing them in a NSArray or NSMutableDictionary ?

  If I have a file that contains a complete path for a file, is there a way to highlight the filename (using visual mode) and open the file? (preferably in a split screen) As I think about it, here is what I would like: if the file name contains a / character, assume it is a full path (IE the 'current directory' is root). Otherwise, use the current folder (IE default behavior) Is this possible?

I would like to know if that feature can be used for downloaded content, because I fetch content via $.ajax() that holds CSS references and I would like to retrieve the content of the CSS before working with the retrieved content.   I have an application with set limits on subscription attributes i/e a user can have five projects for subscription A but have ten for subscription B At present I run a check on there current usage when linking to the create action and if they are over there limit I do not display the link to create a new project. On the view (for the new project ) I again run the check (in a helper) to see if they can create a new project and if they are not I display a message stating so and a little upgrade link. Is this a secure method of stopping a user bypassing there subscription attribute limitations ? What about direct PUT requests etc ?

  i know you can find the first and last occurrence in a string using strstr() and strchr but how do i find the second occurrence, and the third occurrence of needle inside haystack? im using this to find the last occurrence of needle and the first occurrence of another needle and their position, then return the string that is in between each. thank you.

  If you have two jars in your classpath that contain different versions of the same class, the classpath order becomes critical. I am looking for a tool that can detect and flag such potential conflicts in a given classpath or set of folders. Certainly a script that starts: classes=`mktemp` for i in `find . -name "*.jar"` do echo "File: $i" > $classes jar tf $i > $classes ... done with some clever sort/uniq/diff/grep/awk later on has potential, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any existing solutions.
