    As i understood, the threads provided by GCD do have a runloop but no source/port. Now i use some of methods that call AppleScripts thru AppleEvents inside an NSOperationQueue.     I'm writing up something about ACL usage on CentOS but since I still do not have a box ready I would like to ask something. Let us assume we have a folder /var/www/test If I do this in terms of permissions: /bin/chown -R root:root /var/www/test/ /bin/chmod -R u=rwx,go= /var/www/test/ /usr/bin/setfacl -R -m u:apache:rwx /var/www/test/ Will user apache be able to change owner of folder test or of any particular file within that folder? If answer is yes shall I than use group instead of user?

I've seen the usage of #pragma comment to link with other files , but setting up the compiler settings was easier with an IDE.     I used to think that using SocketOptionName.ReuseAddress, I can reuse a port that is in TIME_WAIT state. But I tried to experiment with it and it seems it has no effect. If I check sockets using netstat, and it shows the socket is in TIME_WAIT state and I immediately run the client again, I get the exception: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted 172.16.16.16:12345 I cannot make anything out of it. Please can you elaborate what SocketOptionName.ReuseAddress is good for?

  • Is there a way that WCF service can know which machine the call comes from?

    Hi, I have a WCF service and without changing any code on the client side, is there a way that I can know the detail information of the caller, such as the MachineName, and ApplicationName? Basically, I cannot change the client code to pass those pieces of information over. I tried to use System.Web.HttpContext on the server side to track this information, but HttpContext.Current is NULL. I guess that is not the proper usage of it. Any suggestion? Thanks Sarah

    Hello, We're running a large site at the moment which has a dedicated VPS for it's database server which is running MySQL and nothing else. At the moment all four CPU cores are running at close to 100% all of the time but the memory usage sticks at around 268MB out of an available 4096MB. I'm wondering what we can do to better utilise the memory and reduce the CPU load by tweaking MySQL's settings?
