Drupal form being rendered before submit action

I have a Drupal module page where I am populating a form with a drop-down that contains a list of available parts of a set of files that the user can upload. Once the user uploads a file of a certain type, it removes that option from the list, and when all the available files are uploaded the form will not be rendered. The problem is that Drupal is drawing the form before it carries out the submit action, so it appears to the user that the operation didn't work until they reload the page. What is the common way to deal with this? Setting form_state['redirect'] to go to the page doesn't seem to work.

jQuery UI Element vs Dojo (Dijit) Form Element

Dojo seems to have a useful feature in that it can setup event handlers and default options, etc for Dijit.form elements as it is inserting it into the DOM. codeigniter and form action trailing / issue??

Hi, I am having a bit of an issue with the way CI is dealing with /. In a regular form i notice that the following form action didn't work action="mydomain.com/ci-controller/login/" but this one does work action="mydomain.com/ci-controller/login" Strange but he it worked. But now i need this from a iframe, i the iframe i have a login form which sets the parents url to mydomain.com/ci-controller/login, but i get the same error as it was calling mydomain.com/ci-controller/login/ Could my problem be that the call from the iframe adds a trailing / which is not visible?? Any thoughts

A simple php form in Joomla?!

Hi all, Someone came to me and asked me if I could add a form to their Joomla page. I figured this should be easy since Joomla is widely used and such thing should be supported. I'm googling arround for 1,5h now, and I have given 4 formcreators a try but this is driving me crazy. The editors are all very complex for the simplest task I want. A simple form with: 5 text input; 1 radio selection criteria; the message a visitor sends. So I've given pretty much up upon formbuilders. Is there a simple way to include an external, self-built very easy php form, into the contactpage? I hope to hear from you... Greetings from Holland

Incorrect error

If you assign an invalid date (like December 39th) to a datetime column ActiveRecord returns a "can't be blank" error when is should probably return an error like "Not a valid date" My question. Is this expected rails behavior, a bug or, something that I could patch? class ExerciseLog < ActiveRecord::Base validates_presence_of :scheduled_datetime end Fire up the console. e = Log.new # lets set a date for Dec 39th which obviously doesn't exist e.scheduled_datetime = "2010-12-39" e.save => false # this is the confusing message since our form did post a valid date e.errors.on(:scheduled_datetime) => "can't be blank" e.scheduled_datetime = "2010-12-30" e.save => true I discovered this issue when I accidentally transposed the month and day values. btw This is in Rails 2.3.5

extending spring form tag library attributes

I'm using Spring's form tag library in a Spring MVC application that I am developing. The company I am working for has implemented some company-wide policies based on the definition of custom attributes for certain tags. For instance, by default (though the inclusion of a standard javascript file) all tags have their values automatically converted to upper case. In order to disable this one would define their tag with a custom attribute in the following way: <input type="text" uppercase="false" /> The problem is that the addition of these custom attributes to a spring:form tag causes an error at runtime. I've pasted the error below. org.apache.jasper.JasperException: /WEB-INF/jsp/reportCriteria.jsp(45,5) Attribute uppercase invalid for tag input according to TLD My question is: is there any way to extend the TLD to allow for these attributes, or is there any other way add these custom attributes to these spring:form tags?

Why doesn't Rails' "errors.full_messages" replace attribute and message variables?

Having a strange problem with a rails model I just created. Here are my validations: validates_presence_of :from_name, :message => 'Please provide a from name.' validates_presence_of :from_email validates_presence_of :giftition_plan_id I'm having issues using errors.full_messages as well as f.error_messages in my form: g = Giftition.create g.errors.first => ["from_name", "Please provide a from name."] >> g.errors.full_messages => ["{{attribute}} {{message}}", "{{attribute}} {{message}}", "{{attribute}} {{message}}"] I'm just getting "{{attribute}} {{message}}". Any ideas? UPDATE: I've uninstalled rails 3 and all the gems that were installed with it and that made the problem go away. It's not a fix though... I would still like to have rails 3 installed.

Rails 3 remote resubmit form with dynamic fields

I have a form which has remote => true. When i submit it the first time everything works well. If there are any errors i want to add new fields to this form. I did this with update.js.erb. The problem is that when i resubmit this form, the result js file is rendered as html (ie i see the js file text on the screen). This is the same update.js.erb file that was rendered as js the first time... Any idea what i'm missing?

DrawString only works in top-left part of form vb.net

My problem is that it will ONLY draw the string in the upper-left portion of the form, roughly 260x260 starting at 0,0. It literally cuts off the text if it goes beyond. Why is this? Shouldn't it work for the entire form?

Front-end phtml template form doesn't connect to controller.php file

The web system which I'm working on right now, has a add.phtml (in views folder) form, which contain normal form elements and pageController.php (in Controller folder) file which has function to be connected when user hit "add page" button on the form. The codes goes like this. on add.phtml file, input type = "submit" value ="Add Page" on pageController.php file, function insertAction(){ } For some reason these two doesn't connect now. Is anybody have any idea why this doesn't work or what should I check on this kind of a problem. The web system on zend framewok. I really appreciate if someone can help me.

C# Closing a form during a constructor

Is it possible to close a form while the constructor is executing (or simply to stop it showing at this stage)? Maybe a way to check the form to see if it still exists?

jQuery .animate reveal contact form hidden in div with negative margin above header

I'm running in to some other cross-compatibility issues as well with the margin spacing so I'm not even sure this is the best way to go about this. Obviously it'd be great if I could just begin with the div as display:hidden and then animate it to visible, but I haven't been able to do that. Any input is appreciated, either with advice on how to save the margin after form submission, or suggestion on better method to achieve this hide/reveal. Thanks, Brian

Hi, I'm in the middle of writing my project and I have this problem: I try to write a library and I want to use it in my application. In library I have a form with menu strip, tool bar, list view, tree view and etc. Everything in library is protected. In my application I have created the form which inherit form the library. I can change and add new functionality to list view and tree view using designer panel in VS 2008 but I don't have access to menu strip and tool bar, even though they are protected. Why is that so? I will be thankful for some advice.

How can I block access to the site if a user is not logged in? Under web.xml Security I checked Form authentication then I selected Login and Error page, but I don't know how to block the access and redirect the user to the login page. Do I need a filter? I'm coding up a small Vista/7 sidebar gadget for our web based employee schedule system and I've run into a Javascript problem that my Google-FU can't solve. I can't figure out how to fill in a login form from the client. I'm creating a new ActiveXObject, navigating to the site, but lost as to where to go from here. var conn = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); conn.open("POST", "url", false); conn.send(null); Can access the form from the ActiveXObject based on the form id? I'd also assume I'm going to need to change a few headers for a POST vs. a GET? Thanks for any tips or links to references! I can't seem to find much and JavaScript isn't my forte.

Best way to find all input elements inside a form using jQuery

I need to find all form elements inside inside a form and trigger a flag on change in the value. Currently I am using the method below. I am not sure if this works or not. But It surely works for: .find('input[type=text]) $('#form').find('input[type=text], input[type=radio], input[type=checkbox], select, textarea').each(function(){ $(this).change(function(){ if( change !== 1 ) change = 1; }); }) Now I have added multiple elements with the comma. Rails 3: jQuery form not working.

Hi, I have jquery working on my Rails app using the gem 'jquery-rails'. I also have a search form working correctly. However, when I add :remote => true the form stops working. <%= form_tag services_path, :method => :get, :remote => true do %> <%= text_field_tag :search, params[:search] %> <%= submit_tag "Search", :name => nil %> </div> <% end %> I have also added a index.js.erb but it has no effect on it. For some reason the :remote = true makes the form to stop working. Any reason why? Thanks

Wondering if anyone know how to automatically send the user an email after he/she fills out a form. I have the form emailed to me after it gets submitted, but I can't figure out how to capture the user's email from the form field and have it send it to them automatically??? vb express / visual studio - is it possible to run / debug one form only in a multi form application

hi, I have a vb application consisting of several winForms and code files. Is it possible to run / debug only one form without having to run the whole application? To be more specific, one of the forms in my application is the settings form where the user sets his/her desired options. These options are read/written to an xml file. Is it possible to debug just this one form (and not the whole program) to see if the reading/writing went well, if everything displayed correctly... ? If I am thinking the wrong way about this, could you point me in the right direction? By the way, I am using visual basic express / visual studio.

MVC for web development: Sign-up form?

How would I go about implementing a signup form using the MVC pattern for a website (I'm using PHP)? I think the controller should receive the POST data initially. Then probably some interation with the model might need to take place (if the user successfully signs up). Then I think the signup form view would be called, and a value would be passed in saying whether or not the signup was successful. Stuff I need help with: Where do I do input validation (ie. proper email address formatting)? How do I check to make sure the username is unique? Is the rest of my description alright? How would you go about doing an MVC website signup form?
